Seth smiles at the group. Eddie's dancing with Wila and Hayes relaxed and not with care in the world. He sees Buck looking at Eddie and knows it will take work. Eddie's with the family that will guard him against the 118. Seth sees Ruben and Sybil arguing, and Alita has a knife pointing at them. Someone is trying to calm the pregnant woman. He finds that funny.
Seth sees a woman approaching Eddie and the man hugging her. He takes her to Bakul. Bishvajit smiles at his wife, chatting away with the woman. Another woman tries to go to the unknown woman, but she turns her back. Dorothy talks to the woman.
"Seth?" Aris questions the man. Seth turns to the man and sees caution in his eyes. Aris can see that Eddie's family will protect him from them.
"Aris," Seth acknowledges the man.
"How's Eddie?" The man asks. He knows better than to go to the hurting man. Seth smiles.
"Not quite there yet," Seth tells him, and Aris looks at him.
"Can I ask him myself?" Aris questions him, and Seth smiles.
'Smart man,' He thinks.
"Go ahead," Seth says. Aris waits until he sees Eddie by himself.
"Mr. Diaz?" He approaches the younger man. Eddie looks at him with a neutral face. Buck waits for his turn. Aris looks at the man and sees a slightly healthier man.
"How are you doing, Eddie?" He asks, making Eddie blink at him. Eddie goes into himself, and Buck wants to take the hurting man into his arms.
"I'm not ready, sir," He confesses, making Aris smile. He trusted Seth to be honest with him but wanted to see from the man himself.
"I'm going to extend your leave for another two months. After that, we will see what to do," Aris says, making Eddie bite his lip. Buck wants to make Eddie stop that habit.
"I'm not ready to be Search and Rescue, but I feel confident to do medical calls," Eddie says, making Aris smile.
"The only opening I have is at the 221. Their paramedic is retiring soon," The chief says, making Eddie smile. Buck is forced to bite back a protest. He doesn't want Eddie to leave. Eddie smiles shyly at that.
"I would like that, sir," Eddie says. Aris nods in understanding.
"Keep doing what you are doing, report to me, and we will get you back within the LAFD in no time," Aris says and leaves. Eddie turns to Buck. Buck's nervous.
"How are you, Evan?" Eddie asks softly. Buck smiles at his real name.
"I'm a mess, but I'm in therapy. Could you do couples therapy with me?" Buck asks him. Eddie looks at him with a soft smile.
"I would like that," Eddie says. Both men smile and see Hen, Bobby, and Chimney approaching them. Eddie tenses, but Eli and Rita stand in between them. Buck gets in front of Eddie. Seth and Soren go to them.
"Nash, Wilson, Han, what can we help you with?" Clay questions the three. Naomi, Nora, and Nola take Eddie away. Dean has food in her hands. She goes to Eddie and gives some food to him. The man beams at her. Buck watches his love eat. Buck sees a family ready to protect Eddie.
Buck knew that no one was innocent, but Eddie took the blame for the fight starting. Buck will make it up to him.
