This is my first time doing a Rugrats All Grown Up story. I did read a Loud House story years ago where Lincoln got bit and turned into a werewolf. So, this will be my first time doing a werewolf story. So, I hope you all will enjoy this first chapter.
The sun raises over the houses and birds started to chirp a morning song, as a butterfly flies towards the Finster's residence. In the bedroom the blanket has covered over someone. As the alarm rings a hand slowly reaches out and turns it off. Sitting up is a young Asian preteen girl. Kimi Finster, the youngest of the Finster's let out a yawn as she stretches.
"Another day, another dollar." She tiredly muttered to herself.
Getting out of bed she starts taking off her pajamas and putting on her normal clothes. Sitting on the chair she first brushes her hair. Then tied it into her usual ponytail with chopsticks.
"Kimi! Are you up? Breakfast is ready!" Kimi hears her mother's voice.
"Coming!" Kimi walking out from her bedroom.
Going down the stairs she entered the kitchen where her mother had just finished making breakfast. With her adoptive father Chas helping out his wife setting the table "Morning Dad!" Kimi saying morning to her father and gave a kiss on the cheek "Morning Mom!" Kimi then hugged her mother.
"Morning sweetie. Slept well?" Chas asked his adoptive daughter.
"Yep." Kimi smells the fresh batch of waffles "Hmm, smells good Mom."
"It's chocolate chip, your favorite." Said Kira setting the plate in front of her daughter as Kimi sat down.
Kimi turned to her right to see an empty seat "Is Chuckie still sleeping?" Kimi asked.
"He should be waking up by now. Don't want him to miss the bus." Said Chas checking his watch.
"I'll call up to him." Kira was about to sit up until Kimi got up first.
"That's okay Mom. I'll go and get him."
Kimi left the kitchen and went upstairs. She walked up to Chuckie door and give it a knock. She then hears a tired groan "Yeah…" Chuckie tiredly called out.
"Bro, breakfast is ready. And hope you're dressed for school." Kimi replied behind the door.
She then hears a thud, meaning that Chuckie fell out of bed in a hurry. Kimi listens to the ruckus behind the door as Chuckie is getting dressed and ready. The door swung opened as Chuckie is catching his breath with his glasses tilted "I'm ready… I'm ready." Said Chuckie as Kimi notices that Chuckie looking a mess since his shirt is backwards, hair messy then usual, and missing a shoe.
Kimi can't help but laugh at her adoptive brother look "You're not going to school looking like that are you?" Kimi asked as she fixed her brother's glasses.
"Oh, geez. I slept in again, didn't I?" Chuckie then fixed his shirt and getting his other shoe.
"Third time in a row. What's up?" Kimi asked.
"Oh, been helping Tommy with a script he's been working on. Been video chatting for at least an hour."
"Another script? What is it this time? You never explained to me what he's been working on that's so important."
"Oh, it's one of those horror genres. Remember that slasher film he worked on?"
"It's that the one from the Scream franchise?"
"Yep, that's the one." Chuckie fixing his hair.
"So, what's horror movie is he working on this time?" Kimi asked once more until they heard their mother voice calling up to them "Kids! Your food is getting cold!" Kira shouted from the stairs.
"It's best if Tommy explains it once we're at school." Said Chuckie as he hurries go downstairs with Kimi following him.
Once they entered the kitchen the news on the TV is on "In other news; another animal attack has struck again last night. A third attack this week. This time a family dog was found in the family's backyard, viciously mauled. There has been no sign of the animal that has been causing these mysterious circumstances. As the law enforcement have zero leads about these mysterious animal attacks…" The TV gets turned off by Kira as she looks worried.
"I hope they would catch the animal. I'm worried it'll show up around here." Said Kira.
"Don't worry Kira. I'm sure Animal Control will handle it." Chas reassured his wife while Chuckie and Kimi eating their breakfast.
"I sure hope so Chas."
Kimi looked at her parents who looked worried. She can't help but to be worried about the animal. But then again, she shouldn't be since there haven't been many animal attacks in the neighborhood, she and her family are living in. So she pushed her worried thoughts aside and kept eating.
At the schoolgrounds Kimi and Chuckie walking where their friends are at. When they see them, Kimi recognizes a familiar look. Tommy Pickles an old friend of Chuckies, and her secret crush. Telling the twins Phil and Lil about something while Tommy little brother Dil is sitting on the table reading a book.
Seeing Tommy, Kimi can't help but blush with her heart pounding in her chest. She made sure Chuckie doesn't see her blushing due to how overprotective he is. As kids Kimi had a crush on Tommy, of course, she and Tommy couldn't admit it. But she has a strange feeling that Tommy feels the same way. But of course, there's her brother. When he saw that drawing of a heart with two letters which is the first letter of their names. Chuckie 'brotherly' instincts kicked in.
Kimi finds Chuckie protective for her was sweet. But it can get a bit annoying, especially for her. But she couldn't hold that against him since that's how big brothers acted. However, it nearly ruined their friendship over a silly crush. But seeing Tommy, she can't help of feel flustered. As they got closer to them, Kimi can hear their conversation.
"You got a film idea Tommy?" Phil asked Tommy.
"Yeah well, I still think is kind of silly." Tommy replied.
"Silly? Bro it's an excellent idea." Said Dil not looking away from his book.
"What is the film actually about?" Kimi asked as she and Chuckie showed up "Oh, hey Chuckie. Hey Kimi." Tommy greets the Finster's.
"Chuckie told me you were working on some scripts for this film you're making. What exactly is it?"
"What, Chuckie didn't tell you?"
"I was in a hurry getting dress after I… well, slept in a bit." Chuckie told him scratching his neck.
"Okay, can anyone tell me what it is anyway?" Phil asked impatiently.
"It's a monster film." Tommy answered to them.
"A monster film? Didn't we already done one of those during spring break?" Lil asked, confused.
"You're talking about a giant kaiju movie. This one is totally different. It's actually about a…"
"Oh! We're doing a vampire movie! Alright! I always wanted to dress up as Dracula." Phil showing his excitement.
"Actually, it's not a vampire film. It's a werewolf movie we're going to film." Said Tommy.
"What? Werewolves? Pff, lame."
"A werewolf movie? Uh, am I missing something? Why you want to make a werewolf movie?" Kimi asked as Tommy pulled out a poster "There's a film festival coming in a few months. And the winner will get first place. This could be a perfect chance to make really scary monster movie." Tommy explained with optimism "Also it was basically Dil's idea to make a werewolf movie."
"Hey, werewolves are cool bro. That's what people want to see." Dil told him still glued to the book.
"Yeah, well, I hope this movie will be good. Even if it's not as good as any cinema that Hollywood has made. It's still worth a try." Said Tommy determine.
As long as Kimi has known Tommy, the young Pickle has dreamt of becoming a film director. It's been his dream ever since a very young age. Through the years she, Chuckie, and their friends have always been helping him make home-made movies. It's been his passion forever, something which is what Kimi liked about Tommy. Someone who never gives up and always keeps moving forward.
"A scary monster movie? Please." Said a new voice, coming up to them is none other than Angelica Pickle. Tommy and Dil mean old cousin.
"What's so amazing about a dumb old monster film?" Said Angelica being snarky as ever.
"C'mon Angelica. Everyone loves monster genre. Especially teenagers. Plus, already got you a perfect role. If you're interested?" Tommy gave his cousin the script of a certain character she'll be playing.
"You're giving me the leading role?"
"Yeah, you are my cousin after all. And you do like being in the spotlight like a lot."
"Too many if you ask me." Phil whispered to Lil with her snickering.
"I do like being the star. Okay Tommy. I guess I'll help you with this for that dumb film contest. As long I get the credit for my performance."
"So, who's playing who?" Chuckie asked nervously "I hope I'm not playing the monster. I don't do well as the monster."
"I wouldn't mind being the werewolf." Phil suggested.
"Really? Didn't you same werewolves being lame earlier?" Lil pointing out to her brother Phil.
"I-I did not say that. What I meant is… um…" Phil trying come up an excuse.
"No way, Jose. I'm going to be the werewolf." Said Dil putting down the book finally "After all, I'm the monster expert here. I even do a really good wolf growl. Listen. GRRR!" Dil growl like a wolf showing his teeth.
"Actually Dil, I was actually thinking about having Kimi be the monster." Said Tommy shocking everyone including Kimi.
"Kimi?" Everyone said in union.
"Me? What…?" Kimi confused as Tommy handed her the script "Hold on Tommy. Why would I be the werewolf? Why shouldn't you have your little brother to do it? Like he said he is the monster expert."
"Yeah, Tommy. This isn't why we agree on during our talk." Chuckie told him as he walked up to his best friend.
"I know, Chuckie, but…"
"But what?"
"There's been a bunch of movies where a guy or some gerent jerk turns into a werewolf. So, I thought why not have a girl to play as the monster. As a… um, what's the word for female werewolves Dil?"
"A she-wolf. The word is a she-wolf." Dil answered.
"Yeah. That one." Tommy looked back at Kimi "Plus I think you be perfect for this role."
Kimi blushing slightly at Tommy comment "Y-You really think so?" Kimi stutter slightly, trying to keep herself calm so no one would see her flustering.
"Yeah, if really want to that is."
"Sure! I'll love to give it a try."
"That's great. We'll be filming at our place. Hope nothing goes wrong." They then hear the school bell ringing, signaling the students to get to class. Tommy grabbed his bag as he and Dil headed to class "Let's meet up after school. See you guys later." Tommy walked to class.
"Better get to class as well." Said Chuckie as he hurried to class with Phil behind him "Wait up, Chuck!" Phil chased after him.
Angelica didn't say anything as she went to class as well. Lil then followed soon after. Kimi is now left alone as she thinks about the role for Tommy homemade movie "Tommy is making me the monster for his film?" Kimi thought to herself "I don't even know how to act like a vicious wolf. But then again… this will be my first time playing the monster." Kimi looked through the scripts Tommy had given her.
"Boy… this sure is a lot." Kimi muttered looking through the papers "I think I should ask Dil for tips. This going to be a lot harder than I thought."
As Kimi about to walk to her classroom, she heard a loud screeching. Followed by a loud thud. She quickly turned her head to see a car stopped as she sees an animal laying on the road from behind the school fence. She covered her mouth with her hand as the car drove off "My God… That poor dog." Kimi thought to herself.
She kept looking at the stray laying limbless on the road. However, it then started to twitch. Kimi kept watching as she watched the dog getting back onto its paws. Letting out a whimper as it limbed away to the other side of the street. Kimi was surprised by this. Taking a closer look, she noticed the dog is actually fine with no other injuries. Only its back leg looks broken but not seem too bothered by it. But Kimi can't help but feel concerned about it.
Before she could turn around and head inside, she noticed the dog had stopped moving. It turns its head and stares at the fence across. Taking a good look, the dog looks pretty large, its fur has a dark shade of brown and has a large scar over its left eye. Looking straight at her with an ominous glare. Kimi shuttered, feeling a tingle down her spine. She could've sworn she saw it baring its teeth at her, showing its fangs as the breeze blew.
Kimi jolted as she felt a hand touch her shoulder. She quickly turned her head only to see a school security guard standing over her "Hey, you're going to be late for class kid. You need to get going." Said the security guard.
Kimi turned her head back to the fence only to see the dog was gone. With the wind blowing, carrying some leaves in the breeze. Kimi was left confused, until the security guard interrupted her thoughts "Hey, didn't you hear me kid?" The security guard spoke once more.
"Sorry! I'll get going! Thanks for telling me!" Kimi quickly speeds her way to class.
However, Kimi mind is still stuck on what happened "What the hell was up with that dog? It's like it was staring right at me." Kimi shook her head to clear her head from worry thoughts "Well, at least it's okay. That's all it mattered." Kimi continued on her way as she walked to class.
The only thing she should be worried about is her playing the monster for Tommy's movie for the film festival coming in the following months.
That's it for this chapter. This first chapter is a build up for Kimi when she gets attacked by a vicious werewolf. I don't know how well this chapter will go since it's been years since I've watched the spin-off show All Grown Up!
