"M-Maman...w-wake up, Maman. Do-Don't leave Tsu-kun alone please..." The boy gently shook his mother's body lying in a pool of blood.
Sawada Nana opened her eyes weakly, and despite her foggy vision, she strove hard to focus on her tiny boy's trembling stature. She could make out the bloodstains on Tsuna's hands as he tried to stop his mother's gunshot wounds from bleeding, something he learned from one of the thriller movies he enjoyed watching every weekend, but it just wouldn't stop.
Tsuna wiped the tears that streamed from his eyes, causing bloodstains to spread across his face. "Tsu-kun, shh, don't cry," Nana coaxed, her voice weak and soft, extending a hand to caress the boy's cheeks, gently wiping the tears and blood from his cheeks. "My poor baby boy...Mama will always love you..." was the last thing she managed to gasp out before finally succumbing to her wounds, her hand slipping from Tsuna's face, hitting the cold floor as her body and breathing grew motionless.
With widening eyes, Tsuna bit his lips to suppress the scream that was threatening to escape his throat. He heard heavy footsteps outside his parents' bedroom, and then the sturdy door flew open, revealing men in black suits wielding various weapons, glowering at him and his mother's body.
Tsuna backed up, his body shaking even more as he scurried around the corner in terror.
"Is that him? The Young Lion of the Vongola's son?" he heard one of the men say, but Tsuna couldn't understand any of it.
Vongola? What's Vongola? And who are these people? Were they the same individuals that attacked his mother outside? Were they the reason Nana arrived home with gunshot wounds and was urgently telling Tsuna to flee? But why?
One of the men kicked Nana's body to the side, causing Tsuna to scream, and crept close to her body, his orbs unconsciously changing from warm auburn to blazing orange. "STOP HURTING MY MAMA! GET OUT!" He roared, fear replaced by fury, causing the intruders to shudder slightly until they remembered they were up against a mere child.
"What should we do with the kid, boss?" the one who kicked his mother spoke with the same language Tsuna couldn't understand but the brunet paid him no mind as he cradled his mother's body close to him, rage still burning through his orange orbs.
Tsuna identified the man in the center of the gathering as the commander of the intruders from his smirking. His grip on Nana's body intensified as he sought to shake off the chill that ran through his body as the man approached. "This kid would sell great in the black market and he'll also be a great hostage to scare the Vongola," he said. "We're taking him back. As for the woman's body...take a picture of it and mail it to the Young Lion's organization."
Tsuna noticed the other men nodding as they approached him and his mother's lifeless body.
He remembered his mother urging him to pray to God whenever nightmares plagued him or horrible things happened to him. Nana assured the boy that while she may not be able to be with him twenty-four hours a day, God will always be there to protect him instead.
But where was God when he tried to scream out to him to not take his mother away from him or to help protect him from these scary men?
'God...I curse you...' He thought as strangers violently detached him from his mother, his eyes burning with blazing orange as he chanted those words repeatedly inside his head.
The floor began to shake as he was about to be taken out of the room by one of the intruders, and the sky, which had been bathed in bright sunlight, dimmed. Tsuna's eyes widened as he noticed the figure emerging from a dark haze that seemed to appear out of nowhere. He couldn't see clearly because of the tears and smoke, but he could hear the terror increasing within the narrow room as the attackers attempted to shoot it with their firearms, but the bullet went through the haze and punched through the concrete wall instead.
"What's happening?!" the leader of the group yelled amidst the shooting, panic palpable in his voice as he pulled out his own gun.
"Chaos," As the haze cleared out, an imposing and well-built figure appeared in front of their eyes. The individual, like the bunch of scary men who attacked Tsuna and his mother, was clothed in a black suit with the exception of his undershirt. The fedora that perched elegantly on his deep black locks cast a shadow on half of his face; the hat was black in color, but the base was encircled with an orange band that matched his undershirt.
Everyone, with the exception of Tsuna, who was completely overcome with rage, felt their knees go weak in fear. With a single glance, they understood that this man was out of their leagues; his strength, even if they hadn't witnessed it firsthand yet, was in an entirely different world. Just who was this guy and where did he come from?
"It's been ages since I've smelled such scrumptious wrath and hatred; who'd have guessed it was coming out of that frail-looking child," he said, an amused and menacing sneer flitting across his lips as he flicked his hat upward, revealing obsidian eyes as deep as an abyss. "Hey, do you want me to kill them?" The man spoke again, his gaze fixed only on the still brunet in one of the intruders' arms.
When he didn't get a response, the man simply hummed, his tongue curling out slightly to lick off his lips, evidently intrigued at the emotions swirling across the boy's orange orbs. "Not that it matters. I do not take no for an answer, after all," In a split second, there was a sleek lustrous gun in the man's hand, as well as bullet wounds on about half of the men inside the room. It all happened so rapidly that no one had time to respond, and when they did, they were already being annihilated by the fedora man's bullet singlehandedly.
The last to go was the person holding Tsuna, who attempted to flee the room with the brunet, but his doom was rapid, with a single bullet in his skull, he fell and Tsuna's body met the cold floor. Despite his mounting weakness, he forced himself up and gazed at the fedora man in surprise.
"Are you here to hurt Tsu-kun as well?" Tsuna questioned, his voice tired as he simply resigned himself to fate.
"Yes," The man answered without trepidation, making the brunet cringe, but he tried to hide it from the man, unwilling to exhibit any signs of weakness as he had previously. "But not yet..."
Tsuna's brows furrowed as he observed the other intently as if attempting to read his real intentions. "Mister, who are you?"
"I am a demon that was summoned by you, dame-Tsuna," Tsuna gasped after hearing his nickname and started to ponder how the man even knew about it. "I can freely read through my summoner's memories and mind if that's what you're wondering."
Tsuna stared in astonishment before coming back to reality, remembering that he was still in danger. "But I don't remember summoning you..."
The man simply groaned and strolled to the nearest wall, leaning comfortably against it while folding his arms against his chest. "That's what I want to know about too. How did an ignorant child like you summon one of the highest-ranking demons of the underworld?"
"Then, will you be staying with Tsu-kun now?"
The other seemed surprised by the inquiry, as though the child wanted him to stay. But he's a demon, so how could that be?
"That might be possible...if you formed a contract with me, that is," The man smirked; this boy was too naive, and he knew it wouldn't be long before he could consume him and return to the underworld full and satisfied with his meal. "A contract with me would grant you three wishes in exchange for your soul. I can only stay until those wishes are fulfilled and that's when I will take away your soul."
Tsuna nodded, and instantly replied, "Okay, let's form a contract,"
Smirking, the man moved in front of the boy, crouched so they were at eye level, and nicked his palm with his noticeably sharp nails. With one hand, he lifted the child's chin, his thumb brushing against the bottom of Tsuna's lips, and coaxed him into opening his mouth, before his nicked palm crept up to the boy's mouth, allowing the blood to drop down his skin and flow into Tsuna's tongue.
Light surrounded the two for a moment, and when it vanished, Tsuna's tongue was imprinted with a symbol that resembled the corona of the sun; an official mark of their sealed contract.
"Now, let me hear your first wish, dame-Tsuna,"
