A/N: A couple of notes for this story. It takes place during a capture the flag game at camp. Warning's for dark themes, mention of death, and injury. Any who on to the drama!
Annabeth was dying and this beast was in his way. He howled and the ground erupted, and swallowed the monster it closed leaving nothing but a scar. Percy felt to his knees, ears ringing and dizzy. His own wounds forgotten as he placed his hands desperately on Annabeth's wound trying to stop the bleeding.
The bleeding wasn't stopping, tears were gathering in his eyes against his will.
"Please." He muttered, "Please, I can't lose you. Please, Annabeth, if my love means anything to you hold on."
She wasn't going to make it; they were too far away to get help. It was them and them alone. A familiar presence appeared. Normally he wouldn't notice it but now with the love of his life dying in his arms, he was expecting him.
He wasn't going to give her up without a fight, as soon as he thought that, he started glowing. He felt a sharp tugging in his gut, as his glow spread over Annabeth and some of her smaller wounds started to close. He focused on the gash that his hands covered, but nothing happened. He imagined the wound sealing, and forced the power into his hands. The wound started to slowly close, but the tugging intensified until it was painful. But he didn't stop, even as he started to see black spots.
The pain was unbearable but Percy had a strange feeling, almost pleased feeling, as the bleeding slowed. After minutes of agony the wound had sealed shut but he couldn't seem to stop. He wanted it to and willed it to but, it wasn't working. He felt like he was going to pass out but still it didn't stop. Only when Annabeth seemed to become less pale and her breathing more even. Was when Percy finally managed to shut the power off, but the pain was still there, just less intense. Percy crumpled to the forest floor, breathing ragged.
"Oh gods," Someone said.
Percy lifted his head, the world was spinning, his entire body was screaming like he'd bathed in acid. Nico and Will were standing a few feet away though it was unclear who had spoken. Nico was staring at the scar in the ground and Will seemed to be frozen where he stood. Percy's arms gave out and he fell once more to the forest floor, which seemed to jolt Will into action. Will rushed over and tried to place a hand on Percy but he feebly slapped it away.
"Annabeth first," Percy rasped.
Will nodded, and placed his hands on Annabeth's shoulder. Percy tried to sit up but he failed so he resorted to propping himself up with his elbows.
Will, after only seconds of checking on Annabeth, turned his full attention on Percy.
"How is…" Percy started to rasp out.
"She's fine." Will assured, "Just resting now."
Percy fell limply to the forest floor, Annabeth was alive, and that was all that really mattered. All of the strength that Percy had used to stay conscious drained away. Will's and Nico's cries of alarm had sounded like they were coming from the end of a long tunnel. Percy did try to do as Will asked, tried to stay awake, but the pull of darkness was too great and he drifted away from the pain at last.
Percy fell to the ground, Will cried out in alarm as did Nico.
"Percy! Try to stay awake." Will ordered.
Percy's eyes were flickering. It was clear he was trying to do as Will had asked but his eyes rolled into his head and he passed out. Will placed his hand on Percy's neck for pulse, his vitakinetis spread over Percy. His pulse was rapid and breathing labored, no major wounds, no signs of poison or infection. The only thing of note was the searing pain in Percy's abdomen. Will hummed softly, and relaxed slightly as Percy's breathing steadied, Will was able to dull some of pain in his abdomen but not rid of it completely much to his annoyance.
"You've been overly quiet," Will commented turning to his boyfriend.
"I had nothing to say," Nico said with a shrug. He flicked his eyes over the clearing; his eyes focused on Annabeth before focusing again on Will.
"What's wrong?" Will asked.
"I'll show you." Nico placed his hand on Wills shoulder.
Will blinked; the scar in the ground was leaking a black aura.
Will turned his gaze to Annabeth and Percy, Annabeth had the black aura over her, the aura had been shredded, and Percy had small remnants of the aura on his hands and body.
"What do you think Percy did?" Nico asked removing his hand and the clearing became normal once more.
"I don't know. He managed to heal all of Annabeth's wounds by himself."
"Something was killed right there." Nico said pointing to the scar in the ground.
Will glanced at Percy whatever he had done, it was quite clearly taxing, and not at all safe.
"How are we going to get them to camp? It's too far away to walk." Will said.
"I've got that covered." Nico said.
Will started to protest, but Nico interrupted him with an earsplitting whistle.
"What are you…?" Will never finished the question, because a hell hound the size of a tank appeared in the glade. Mrs. O' Leary was wagging her tail so fast it was a blur. She licked Nico, and then turned her attention to Will. Nico wiped the dog slobber out of his eyes in time to see, Mrs. O' Leary lick Will. She sat down, facing Nico tail still wagging.
"Hi, girl would you mind helping us out?" Nico asked.
She gave a happy woof in reply, then bounded over to where Percy and Annabeth were and lay down next to them.
Will and Nico got Percy and Annabeth on her back and Will sat behind them to keep them steady.
The hell hound rose and Nico and the dog with three people on her back melted in to the shadows.
A/N: You know what I don't think that this plot isn't half bad. So anyway, since view count is still broken for me at least. Could you please leave a comment so I know if anyone's reading this?
