Castle Van Ghoul was finally within view a couple moments later, and a small smile came across Vincent's face as he let it sink in.
"I have made it home," he sighed in relief. "It is almost hard to believe."
There was still something off though, since not long after, Vincent, Valentina, and Ophelia all felt a demonic presence and began to see red mist make its way around them.
"No, not now!" Vincent exclaimed.
"Who is that!?" Valentina asked.
Suddenly, there was a very familiar evil laugh heard in the distance by Vincent. A laugh that could only belong to one demon.
"Rankor…" he realized, as his eyes widened in horror.
"We should not have brought you here, it was a mistake. We must leave at once," Ophelia told him.
"I cannot leave," he replied. "I am so close to returning home and to my body. The kids… they would not want me to surrender because of him."
The women tried turning back and ushering him away, but were stopped by Rankor appearing in front of them.
"I did not expect to see such a familial reunion," the demon spoke, with his gaze upon them. His gaze then focused only on Ophelia. "Especially not one that includes you, Ophelia. Millennia ago was the last time we met, when you and your husband caught sight of my power and he was impressed-"
"No need to remind me of that," she interrupted, with an annoyed look on her face. "You should not be the one to speak of him."
Rankor then moved closer to them, as they attempted to move away.
"Oh I should, in truth," he disagreed. "As he is currently possessing the one that I intended to." He then looked back at the warlock. "I do not understand how that occurred!"
He then grabbed and lifted Vincent's soul, making the soul feel even more tied up and tight than ever before, as Valentina screamed and Ophelia gasped in fear.
"Since I cannot possess your body as well, I must take your very own soul!" he exclaimed.
Suddenly, a blast of magic hit the red demon, causing him to fall to the ground and let go of Vincent, who was also about to hit the ground, but was caught by Ophelia instead.
"Leave my brother be, you foul creature!" Valentina ordered, the huge blast of magic still flashing in her hands.
"You do not give me orders!" he shot back.
Rankor stood up, and went straight for her in anger, officially starting a fight between the two of them.
Ophelia then joined to help, but not before speaking to Vincent one final time.
"We shall deal with him for now," she told him. "You, however, must take the rest of the journey back to the castle on your own."
He nodded and smiled.
"Very well. Thank you both for everything you have done," he replied. "I will make it known to the others."
"You are welcome. Now go, return home and into your body."
With that, he left the two women and began making his way to the castle as fast as possible.
Everyone took each other's hands and sat in a circle in a dark room, only lit by a few candles and the lights coming from the crystal balls.
The room was dead silent, with the only sounds heard being the deep breaths some of them had needed to take.
Asamad sat in the middle of the circle, a small fire now appearing in Vincent's hands as they all repeated the spell over and over again:
'Let the magic that surrounds us
Give back the life that once was
Drive out the one in possession
The spirit that knows its sins
With a raging fire
In a event that is dire
We call upon the forces of good
To return the soul of Vincent Van Ghoul!'
Suddenly, the crystal balls were giving off more light. The fire coming from Vincent's hands turned blue and poured out of them, becoming so huge that it surrounded Vincent's body, while his soul was pulled to where his body was across the room.
Vincent's heart started beating fast again as his body was lifted up. Asamad started screaming in pain and coughing loudly before Vincent's screams were heard by the others.
"Vincent!?" Flim Flam called out.
Vincent still couldn't answer, though he did begin to gain some feeling in his body now, as Asamad was losing it rapidly. The bats and red mist appeared around the two of them once more, and fully pulled Asamad out of the body.
In a few seconds, Vincent was now fully in his body, and both him and Asamad hit the floor as the bats, the mist, the coughing, and the fire all disappeared in an instant.
Everyone else then rushed over to Vincent, calling for him.
"Are you with us?" Daphne asked.
His eyes opened to see them all looking down at him, and it was all he could focus on, not even registering that his heart was still pounding yet.
"I am with you," he smiled, breathing heavily.
They all cheered and hugged him gently, with him returning the hug for a few moments.
Asamad stood up and smiled as he watched everyone else. Vincent was back, where he always belonged, and himself, on the other hand, was free of that body now.
He and the others then helped Vincent up, and the warlock looked outside the window, seeing Rankor alone, struggling to get up off the ground.
"I have quite a few things to tell you all, yet more importantly, we should go and capture Rankor. He seems to be outside our home," Vincent told them.
Everyone nodded, and put their winter wear on before rushing outside with the Chest Of Demons.
Rankor finally stood up, growing in anger as he noticed them, and then attempted to move back upon realizing they had the chest in their possession.
"Leave me this once!" he shouted.
"Like, why would we? You didn't leave Vincent alone," Shaggy replied.
"And you have certainly done more than enough," Asamad added. He then turned to Velma. "Now!"
Velma quickly opened the lid of the chest, and the chest was lifted up.
"NO!" Rankor screamed, as he felt himself being pulled into it. "I will not go back!"
Within a few seconds, the demon was fully pulled into it and the lid closed, with Velma catching the chest as it started falling down.
