In his room, Daniel was pacing back in forth as the creature, whom he learned is a Kawmi named Huánglóng, watched him, "Okay, let me see if I got this straight." Daniel said, processing what Huánglóng told him, "You're the Earthbound form of an ancient Chinese Deity and also the Kwami of the Yellow Dragon of the Center?" He asked, pointing to Huánglóng.
Huánglóng raised a hand, "Correction, I am the Golden Dragon of the Center's Kwami." He said as he floated up to him, "And I and my friends are here to restore the Balance." He explained as Daniel looked at him in confusion.
"Balance?" Molly repeated as she listened to her Kwami, Nán Fāng when she finished explaining her mission.
"As you know, the one that you know Monarch has taken the jewels of the Miraculous and their Kawmi's captive, and with so many Miraculous used for evil, the consequences for everyone could be catastrophic." Nán Fāng explained to the girl, "The world is like a balancing scale, there must equal amount on each side of the spectrum, both Light and Dark."
"And Good and Evil?" Molly added in wonder.
"Yes." Nán Fāng as she helped Molly picture the universal balance, "Back when Monarch was still Hawkmoth, him using the Butterfly Miraculous wasn't much of a concern, considering that five holders were using their for good and when Mayura and Shadow Moth were added, even more heroes were called up, so at first we felt there was no need for concern." She continued.
"But then, Shadow Moth somehow tricked Ladybug into giving him access to all the miraculous except hers and Cat Noir's." Sam pointed out with his arms crossed as his Kawmi, Baihu, nodded.
"Yes, and with him having more than two Miraculous and Ladybug's team no longer able access to them, that's when the balance is dangerously close to collapse." Baihu said grimly, And with the Balance so close to a breaking point, we fear that other evils will once again spill into your world." She said.
Sam raised a brow, "Other, Evils? What do you mean?" He asked the White Tiger Kawmi.
"You didn't think that Monarch is the only threat the Miraculous had to deal with over the course of time, did you?" The Blue Dragon Kwami, Qinglong, asked as he explained to his holder, Jacob, about the Monarch's mistake in using the miraculous for dark intentions.
Jacob thought for a moment as he shrugged. "Actually, not really. I mean, he was our main issue before Ladybug and Cat Noir showed up when he was still Hawk Moth." He said.
"Well, I can assure you, there have been many threats to the earth that we of the Miraculous had to prevent." Qinglong told him, "My siblings and I were tasked to watch over the Kwamis and their chosen ones, never to interfere in mortal matters." He explained before slumping, "Humans can be so needy when it comes to champions." He added dully.
"Hey, I'm human here, so can you be a bit more sensitive please?" Jacob asked as Qinglong shrugged as the boy groaned and took off his hat to rub his head. "Okay, but if you're not supposed to get involved with the stuff here on Earth, why are you here now?"
"Because we fear the Ladybug and Cat Noir alone will be able to restore the Balance and rescue our Kwami brethren." The Black Tortoise Kwami, Xuan Wu, explained to his holder, Kara, "As he is now, Monarch has all he needs to counter both the powers of Creation and Destruction."
"Wow, when you put it like that, with Monarch having all that power, I can see why you have to get involved just to free the Kwamis and get their jewels back," Kara said before looking confused, "But if you are that powerful, why don't you just do it yourself or go to Ladybug or Cat Noir?"
Xuan Wu sighed and turned from her, "While it is true Me and my siblings are much more powerful than the ordinary Kwamis, alas we are still Kwamis while on the Mortal plane of existence." he said, "Thus, our powers are too mighty to be used without a wielder to be bound to, but unlike others we are special." He added.
"Wait, not just anyone can use you?" Daniel asked Huánglóng, "Why?"
Huánglóng flew around him, "As we are the most power of the Kawmis, rivaling that of Tikki or Plagg, we knew it was too great a risk for us to be used by any human, so the ancestor cast a powerful spell that allowed us only to be used by someone we truly trust and respect." He explained.
"So it's kinda like you choose your wielders instead of the wielder choosing you kinda thing?" Daniel simplifies before nodding. "Okay, but I just have one Question:" He said.
"Why did you choose me of all people?" Daniel, Molly, Jacob, Kara, and Sam all asked the Kwamis.
"Because we needed holders who are the most pure heart and have qualities that match our abilities." Nán Fāng explained before floating to look Molly in the eye, "For example, you Molly Strong, have incredible grace and optimism, still seek to find the truth, and are able to see through lies to find it."
"Wow. You really think so?" Molly asked while feeling touched.
"I do, Molly Strong. You are worthy of my power." Nán Fāng.
Baihu floated before Sam, "Samson Kirika, though you wish to avoid others and hone your skills, this solitude has given you great skills of strength, speed, patience, courage, and stealth, and are willing to encourage others to do the same." He explained.
Sam was surprised by Bailhu's words as he gave a short laugh and smile. "Glad to know you got who I am down pat."
"We've been watching over you humans while keeping an eye out for the Darkgate Keeper," Baihu said with a smile.
"Darkgate Keeper? What's that?" Sam asked in confusion.
"Oh, that's a tale for another time," Bailhu said, waving him off.
Qinglong then floats to Jacob. "You Jacob Econ, have respected the life of the planet and helped those in need while also thinking ahead when building your machines towards a better future where both man and nature may live together in peace and good health."
Jacob gave a smile. "Just doing my best to make mother nature happy and safe and helping others get to a future better for us and our planet. It was my father that taught me we need to think ahead about everything and what it's gonna do later." He said.
"Which makes you worthy material," Quinlong said with a smile.
Xuan Wu floats to Kara. "You Kara Amore, spend your days in libraries and hospitals, learning all you can about healing others and saving lives outside of battle to treat their wounds both mentally and physically. To help those who would be in hard times." He explained.
"Well, I wanted to make sure that scars can be healed both physically and mentally so that no one will have to suffer from the pain they have to endure," Kara said with a small smile. "I want to be like my mother, a doctor who might someday find the cure for cancer or even for PTSD."
"That sounds like a great thing your mother does." Xuan Wu said with a smile. "And now, you can do much more with my help."
Huánglóng looked at Daniel directly in the eyes. "You Daniel Strider, you come from a long line of brave and selfless warriors who dedicated their lives to protecting those who cannot protect themselves, asking nothing in return and willing to pay any price to fulfill that mission," He said before giving a sympathetic look to the right, "Even, the Ultimate one." He finished.
Daniel knew where he was looking and turned to the portrait of a man with his hair colors but dressed in a Parisian police suit. "Like how my father did when he saw other people's lives were more important than his." He said while frowning.
"And now that duty falls on you," Huánglóng said while floating next to Daniel. "But for the longest time, you felt unworthy to carry on such a legacy, as your attempts to help others have ended poorly."
"I was never like my father," Daniel said sadly. "When I tried to help people, something always went wrong. And when Ladybug and Cat Noir showed up, I figured I just give up, because there's no way I could be a hero like them."
"But now you can really help others." Huánglóng encouraged as he circled him. "The balance rests in your hands. And my Kwami brethren must be rescued from Monarch's clutches."
"But how am I supposed to help?" Daniel asked as he turned to the Kwami. "I'm just a normal boy with a normal life at High School."
"While it is tempting, I don't know if I could take up this role," Molly said to her Kwami uncertainly. "I don't know if I could join in a fight Ladybug and Cat Noir already have down pat." She added.
Nán Fāng gave an assuring smile. "Neither were the heroes Ladybug chosen before the Miraculous was stolen. But that didn't stop them from trying. Even Ladybug and Cat Noir started the same way." She said.
"There are times when we must rise up and rely on others to stop those who threaten the ones we hold dear," Baihu said to Sam with a smile as she flew close. "And we must since one can't exist without the other."
Sam glanced at her, trying to digest what she told him. He was always a loner, he never liked relying on others to help him, "I guess for Paris, I would have to adapt."
"How do I know if I'm ready for this much responsibly?" Jacob asked as Quinlong stared at him.
"Maybe you are, maybe you aren't. But you never know unless you try." Quinlong said to him. "It's better to try than not try at all."
"I'm not sure if I could, but I'm willing to try to help those in need," Kara said to Xuan Wu with a smile.
"Then all you need to do is transformer and go out and find your teammates to find Ladybug and Cat Noir to help them in their times of need." Xuan Wu said with a smile.
Daniel looked at his Miraculous amulet as he put it around his neck. "So, what do I need to do?" He asked.
Huánglóng smiled, "All you must say to become who you were meant to be is, Huánglóng, Heavens Ascend!" He explained.
"Well, okay," Daniel said as he took a breath. "Huánglóng, Heavens Ascend!" He called out as Huánglóng entered the dragon amulet it glowed as he started to transform, his costume is based on a golden dragon, but he has orange details on some lines while the entire body is gold with coattails, ivory antler-like horns on his white longer hair, and his golden mask appeared over his now red slitted eyes as his weapon is a golden sword.
Daniel looked at his miraculous form as he whistled. "Wow, talk going for gold." He commented.
Kara put on her head chain as Xuan Wu gave a smile. "For you to transform, you must say, 'Xuan Wu, Water Flow." He said.
"Got it. Xuan Wu, Water Flow!" Kara explained as Xuan Wu entered the head chain she transformed into a black turtle-themed hero costume is black with purple streaks with some shell pieces on her back and shoulder pads, as she gained her hair braided with a snake-like scepter in her hands. "Wow, Carapace would've been jealous since his weapon is a shield and mine is a scepter." She commented.
Jacob looked at his pin of the blue Wyvern as he place it on the center of his shit.
"Just say 'Quinlong, Wind Rage.' It's the transformation words." Qinlong instructed.
"Understood. Quinlong, Wind Rage!" Jacob called out Quinlong entered the pin as he began to transform, his costume was all blue with curved blackish-blue horns his arms had wing-shaped flaps that were light blue with green eyes, and a dark blue mask with some silver details. In his hand, he held a white and blue battle staff as he looked at himself. "Wow, now this is handy." He said with a smile.
Sam looked at his Belt Buckle as he looked at it longingly as he fasten it to his belt.
"All you need to say is 'Baihu, Earth Rise.'" Baihu said as she floated next to Sam.
"Alright. Baihu, Earth Rise!" Sam exclaimed as Baihu entered the buckle his costume was completely white with black streaks running over it as he gained claws and tiger-like ears on white and black hair, a mask like Purple Tigress but with blue eyes, a tail-like belt and a pair of sais. "Amazing. Talk about going feral." He said, looking over himself.
Molly looked at her ring as she put it on her finger as she sighs. "What do I say to transform?" She asked Nán Fāng.
"All you have to say is 'Nán Fāng, Fire it Up.' It's that simple." Nán Fāng said.
"Okay, Nán Fāng, Fire it Up!" Molly called out as Nán Fāng entered the ring, which caused her to transform into a phoenix-like costume with shoulderless sleeves, a scarf designed like wings, red hair with streaks of orange and yellow, and two fans for weapons. "Wow, if I didn't know I wouldn't even recognize myself." She said to herself as she looked at the mirror with a smile.
Back with Daniel, he looks at his golden dragon costume as he looks at his reflection. "Wow, this is bright and cool." He said to himself as he looked at his golden sword. "Mmm, this sword would come in handy, if I know how to use it." He said to himself as he looked at his miraculous and the picture of his father he picked it up for a closer look as he gave a solemn look and sighed. "I'll make you proud, Dad. And this time, I won't give up." He promised as he looked out the window where the Eiffel Tower he knew that's where Monarch first announced himself and where Ladybug and Cat Noir were as well.
Daniel gave a serious look as he placed his father's picture down and he stared out the window. "This, changes, everything." He said to himself as he knew that the War for the Miraculous was about to take a whole new level.
AT Monarch's lair, he was in his Monarch form as he stood up. "Dark wings fall!" He exclaimed as he transformed back into Gabriel the Kwamis flew out and they gave him a look as he returned the gesture.
"I swore I'd have you all under my control." Grabiel started as he and the Kwamis exchanged glares. "Granted two of your friends managed to get away from my dear nephew, Felix. And the Miraculous of the Rabbit may now be in the grasp of these five Zodiac Miraculous, but don't be fooled."
"The only fool here is you!" Sass yelled out.
"Really?" Gabriel challenged. "Nevertheless, your powers are now mine, and Ladybug, Cat Noir, and the Zodiacs' will soon join you!" He declared.
"Taking the great ones isn't going to work! They are the most powerful and Miraculous of all! And they will help Ladybug and Cat Noir save us! And soon, defeat you!" Trixx called out next.
"Well, we'll see about that!" Gabriel shot back.
The next day, Daniel walked up to School as he took a deep breath. "Okay, just try and play it cool and pretend like the whole superhero role happened yesterday, Sam. Try not to draw too much attention." He said to himself as he walked up the stairs.
Daniel walked by as he saw students either chatting or heading to class as they walked past him. Daniel felt his necklace reacting to something. "Whoa, hey!" He said as he quickly grabbed his necklace and looked at it. "What's going on?" He asked as he saw the necklace glowing a bit as it started to point in a direction. "What?"
The necklace then started tugging a bit before Daniel grabbed it and sighed. "Okay, if there's something that you wanted me to go to, at least keep a low profile. Since Monarch has the other miraculous, it might be tough to show a few around now." He said to the amulet as he held it in his hands, "And now I'm talking to magical jewelry, great." He muttered.
Daniel then walked to where the amulet was pointing every time it hit a corner or a different direction, it pointed another way it led him to right to Sam as he skidded to a halt, "Whoa!" Daniel exclaimed as he managed to regain his balance.
"Whoa!" Sam called out in surprise as he skidded to a halt as well and they looked at one another. "Uh, sorry, man. I didn't see you." He apologized.
"No, it was my fault. I didn't watch where I'm going." Daniel assured as they looked at one another before Daniel noticed Sam's jewel piece was glowing. "Hey, what's up with your bracers?" He asked in wonder.
Sam was nervous a bit before he noticed Daniel's necklace. "What about you're necklace? It's glowing as well." He pointed out.
Before any of them could answer, Molly and Kara appeared their jewel pieces glowing as well and they were surprised to see the two boys. "Oh, sorry, are we interrupting anything?" Molly asked.
"Uh, actually, we just were just…" Daniel tried to explain as he noticed Molly's and Kara's jewel pieces were glowing as well. "Wait, your jewelry is glowing too?" He asked in surprise.
"Wait, what do you mean us too?" Kara asked before Sam and Daniel showed their glowing jewels as well. "What the? What's going on here?" She asked.
"I could ask you four the same thing," Jacob said as he came up to them his pin was glowing as well and he noticed the other four jewels as well. "Did we somehow shop at the same jewelry that made our jewels glow?" He asked, wanting to not draw attention since he was trying to keep his Miraculous a secret.
"Uh, we could have?" Daniel said uncertainly, since he was not sure what was happening since his Miraculous was glowing and led him here for some reason, four other jewels had the same reaction as the five jewels then tugged them closer as the jewels came close in the middle of the group that was around them as the five Zodiacs Kwamis appeared from the Miraculous.
"It's okay, young ones. There's no need to keep secrets to your fellow Zodiac holders." Huánglóng assured them as the five looked at their Kwamis in shock and surprise.
"Huánglóng!/Xuan Wu!/Baihu!/Quinlong!/Nán Fāng! What are you doing!?" The five teenagers all exclaimed in shock before turning to one another in surprise. "Huh?! You have a Miraculous too!?" They all asked in unison.
"Calm down, young ones. As the chosen ones, it is imperative that you know each other's identity." Nán Fāng said with a calm smile.
"Wait, you mean we get to know each other identities? But Ladybug and Cat Noir kept there and they don't know each other." Molly asked.
The Kwami groaned in disbelief, "Let me guess, the whole can't even trust our closest allies with our identities?" Xuan Wu asked with a knowing look.
"Well, it's kinda the whole deal with them. Really." Sam stated with a shrug. "I mean, they do trust each other, but Ladybug said that one mustn't learn of one's identity, even if they could trust each other."
"Although, I had rumors that Rena Rouge and Carapace were a couple, and they knew each other's identities," Kara stated.
"Well, your identities must indeed be kept a secret, but not to another Miraculous holder who you trust can be safe," Baihu stated. "While we don't remember the exact details, due to the powers of the Rabbit and the Snake, we do know that there were two instances where Ladybug and Cat Noir did discover their identities but somehow, Monarch learned them as well and akumatized Cat Noir before they were reversed."
"Wait, Monarch, manage to akumatize Cat Noir after he learned of his and Ladybug's identities when they learned about this?" Jacob asked in shock. "Wow, that's a scary thought."
"But we believe the time when they can reveal themselves without Monarch using it to his advantage is soon." Huánglóng said before shaking his head, "Regardless, what matters now is that we make our return known to Tikki and Plagg."
"Ladybug and Cat Noir's Kwamis?" Molly guessed.
"That is right." A voice called out as the five teenagers looked up and their eyes widened to see a bald man in red and black robes and a staff on his back jump down before them, "Great Kawmis of the Fives Symbols, you honor me with your presence." The man said as he bowed down.
"The honor is all ours, Su-Han. Celestial Master Guardian of the Miraculous." Huánglóng said as he and the other four Zodiac Kwamis bowed to him.
"Wait, Celestial Master of the Miraculous?" Kara asked in surprise as she remembered something she saw on a blog. "Wait, you're from the Miraculous temple? The one mentioned in the Ladyblog?" She asked in surprise.
Su-Han stood up, "Correct young Turtle, I am indeed from the Miraculous temple. And I am here to present myself to the five Zodiacs before you." He said, gesturing to the five Kwamis. "I am here to instruct you on how you can reobtain the 14 Miraculous stolen by Monarch, including his own."
"Wow, well, if you know where he is, maybe we might be able to" Daniel tried to say before Su-Han cut him off with his hand raised.
"I'm afraid I still do not know where Monarch's lair is located. But what I do know is that there is a way to retrieve the Miraculous he has stolen if you five are willing to work together." Su-Han said to the five.
They all looked at each other as they nodded and turned back to him, "Tell us, what we have to do." Daniel said.
A few weeks later, the five Zodiac holders were walking together as the school bell rang and the students started walking to the school, along with 's students.
As Adrien and Marinette were walking, Plagg and Tikki sensed something and looked to the five Zodiac holders. They gasped silently and glanced at each other, nodding.
"Psst. Marinette." Tikki whispered as Marinette looked down at her Kawmi, "You go to class without me, I'll be right back." She said.
"What, why?" Marinette asked.
"Because," Tikki started before she looked around to make sure no one was close as she continued. "The Zodiac holders are here." She whispered.
Marinette gasped quietly since she remembered how she met the future Zodiac team during Monarch's time travel mishaps. "They are? At my school? What are the odds?" She asked in surprise.
"Plagg and I need to speak to their Kwamis, they have a right to know what truly happened," Tikki explained.
Marinette nodded as Tikki quickly and stealthily zipped out of her purse.
Plagg had given the same explanation to Adrien as the boy agreed and let Plagg go to find the other Kwamis.
Tikki and Plagg met up together in the same direction they were heading while also having a tough time thinking what to say. "What should we say, Sugarcube? I mean, I know we have to tell them what happened, but what if they still get mad and have our hides for breakfast?" Plagg said nervously.
"Plagg calm down," Tikki told him.
"Calm down?!" Plagg retorted, "We're about to tell the five most powerful Kwamis in the world we totally botched it and all you can say is calm down?!"
Tikki was surprised by how nervous Plagg was since she rarely saw Plagg treat any situation so seriously. "Okay, Plagg. I know you're nervous, I am too, but as Kwamis of Destruction and Creation, it's our duty to explain to the Great Ones how this disaster actually happened," She said as they floated into the room, "Besides, just because their powerful doesn't mean their not unforgiving, I'm sure they'll understand that the loss of the other Miraculous was nobody's fault." She with a reassuring smile.
But just as soon as she said that, the Five Zodiac Kwamis appeared across from them, "Tikki, Plagg." Huánglóng greeted as the two flinched.
"IT WAS PLAGG'S FAULT!" Tikki exclaimed in panic, pointing to the Destruction Kwami.
"HEY!" Plagg yelled while giving Tikki a glare, who gave a sheepish shrug. "Don't listen to her, it was Sweettooth's holder that lost them!"
"Oh thanks, Cheese Breath," Tikki said with a glare as Plagg gave one back.
"Bugbutt!" Plagg insulted.
"Whiskerface!" Tikki shot back.
"Watermelon!" Plagg yelled as Tikki gasped and whimpered a bit. "Oh, sorry." Plagg apologized, realizing his mistake.
Tikki was about to cry but Plagg pulled her into a side hug, "You went too far that time." She weeps.
"Yeah, sorry. I'm just a little on edge after the others captured." Plagg apologized in guilt.
Tikki sniffed. "That's okay. I am too." She said.
"Now that things have calmed, I believe we have matters to attend to." Xuan Wu reminded them.
Tikki and Plagg nodded as they flew up to the Zodiac Kwamis, feeling a bit nervous as They circled them, "I think you two know why we have appeared." Huánglóng said evenly.
"Yes, Great Huánglóng." Tikki and Plagg answered cautiously.
"And that is?" Huánglóng said while waiting for one of them to explain.
Plagg decided to prolong the truth, "Well, let's see, it all started with some camembert, very delicious might I add, and-" He was cut off as Baihu flew right into his face, with an impatient expression, "And that is not helpful, sorry." He said sheepishly.
Baihu then turned to Tikki, "Tikki, I wish to hear from you what happened, as it was your power and owner that caused this catastrophe." She said as Tikki looked uncomfortable, "Was it not?"
Tikki was silent for a moment before she closed her eyes as she gave a shameful expression. "It was, Great ones. But it wasn't her fault. One of her teammates tricked her, she didn't know." She said while defending her owner.
"Tricked? Your Owner is always careful with her choice of holders." Nán Fāng asked before narrowing her eyes, "How could this have happened?"
"Well, truly, Ladybug explained it herself while she talked to Cat Noir about it," Plagg said politely with a shrug.
"She gave the Miraculous of the Dog to a holder who she thought was a boy named Adrien Agreste, but as it turned out, it was his look-alike cousin who pretended to be him and he used the ball to take her yo-yo, along with the other Miraculous." Tikki continued while still giving a shameful look.
"What? How could stealing her weapon possibly give him access to other Miraculous?" Xuan Wu stated.
"You're greatness, Ladybug is the new Guardian of the Miracle Box." Plagg explained, "She couldn't risk going back and forth to get a miraculous in mid battle, so she made a connection between her yo-yo and the Mother Miracle box so she could grab a Miraculous quick and easy."
Huánglóng looked surprised, "I see. She must truly be imaginative but not very wise to do something so…" before he noticed Tikki shifting uncomfortably and grew suspicious, "Tikki, I sense there something you neglected to tell us, just how did your holder come to the idea of creating a connection to the box that anyone could have used?" He asked.
The other Zodiacs turned to Tikki in expectance while Plagg turned to her in confusion. Tikki rubbed her arms together before looking away, "It, it was my idea.." She admitted as the other six were surprised by this.
"Tikki, you're the one who came up with the idea of making a connection between the yo-yo and the Miracle box?" Plagg asked in surprise. "I thought it was all Ladybug."
"I, I was just trying to protect her. I knew that if she kept going back to her house during an Akuma attack Shadowmoth would've figured out her identity," Tikki explained in guilt, "So I told her she could repurpose her Yo-yo as a way of getting a miraculous she needed from the box without actually going back to it. But, I-I didn't even think that someone else could've used it."
"Did you manage to put a magical lock that only Ladybug could use?" Quinlong asked with his arms behind his back.
Tikki shook her head and floated forward, "Please Great ones, don't blame Ladybug for what happened to the Miraculous, it was my idea for the connection, so I take full responsibility." She said as she fell to the floor while on her knees.
The five Zodiac Kwamis gave her steady expressions before Plagg floated up to them, "Look Great ones, blame game isn't gonna get us anywhere. We already got Fluff back and she's safe in the Burrow of time." Plagg told them, "So if you give me and Tikki a chance, we will help you get the others Kwamis back, you have my word." He vowed while Tikki looked at Plagg in surprise at him defending her.
The five Zodiac Kwamis looked at each other as they nodded to one another and then turned back to the two Kwamis. "There is no need for that Plagg. You and Tikki already have our trust." Huánglóng said, which made Tikki and Plagg surprised, "My friends, I lived long enough to understand that every creature, great and meek, is capable of making mistakes and you two and your holders are no different."
"So, does that mean…" Tikki trailed off with a hopeful smile.
"Yes, Tikki, we will lend you our support in rescuing the rest of our brothers and sisters." Huánglóng declared with a smile while his other four Zodiacs did the same as Tikki and Plagg gave each other wide smiles.
"Alright! Thank you, Great Ones!" Plagg cheered in joy before he started flying around while also grabbing Tikki and spinning her around as Tikki laughed from Plagg's joy.
"Just one condition though you two," Huánglóng said raising a hand as the two stopped. "You must tell Ladybug not to keep the Miraculous in the box once they've been reclaimed." He said the two listened, "Instead, you will have her seek out worthy holders to protect and keep them separated, reducing Monarch's chances of seizing all their power again." He finished.
Plagg and Tikki looked at Huánglóng in surprise at what he suggested. "But, Ladybug has kept them like they were her friends, and we're not sure if since it's too dangerous to keep other Miraculous around," Plagg said.
"And was it not keeping all the miraculous in one place that caused this to happen in the first place?" Baihu questioned as Tikki and Plagg offered no argument, "I'm afraid this man is more dangerous than we first presumed, so what happened that can never be allowed to happen again."
"But even if we do give them back, what's going to stop Monarch from coming after them one by one?" Tikki questioned.
"With everyone you recover, your team's strength shall grow and Monarch would not risk losing another Miraculous simply to gain one he lost." Xuan Wu stated.
"If you recover a Miraculous, return it to its original holder and tell them to keep their Miraculous hidden." Quinlong explained, "That way, Monarch won't be able to reclaim them again."
Tikki looked worried though, "But Monarch already knows most of their identities." She told them.
"We can handle that." Nán Fāng said with a smile. "If Monarch won't be able to remember the other holders' identities."
"What are you suggesting?" Plagg asked as he and Tikki were confused.
"What we're saying is that once we recover a Miraculous we will strip Monarch's memory of who it belonged to," Baihu explained.
Tikki and Plagg are surprised as they are started to get what they're planning. "So if we recover a Miraculous, we can give them back to their holders and Monarch will have no memories of their identities?" Tikki asked while giving a hopeful smile.
"As long as Monarch wears a Miraculous, which we're certain he is, he is connected to their magical links. So if we reclaim them and remove those links, Monarch won't remember the identities of the previous holders." Baihu explained.
"Wow, that's actually pretty handy," Plagg commented while nudging Tikki. "I think our friends would be happy to be back to their owners, huh, Sugarcube?" He asked with a smirk.
Tikki chuckled. "I'm pretty sure they would, Stinky Socks." She teased with a smirk.
"Now that that's settled, we must focus our mission on recovering the Miraculous." Huánglóng declared. "It is imperative that we reclaimed every single one. But we don't know where Monarch's lair is or when he'll attack," he said before the whole room started shaking.
"Um, I think I have an idea?" Plagg said nervously. As he pointed outside they saw a giant red mechanic Centaur as it jumped over the buildings, it was Ikari Gozen.
"Ikari Gozen!? She's back?!" Tikki called out in surprise while the Zodiac Kwamis were surprised.
"You two face this villain before?" Quinlong asked.
"Yep. And let's just say that it wasn't a great experience." Plagg answered as Ikari Gozen then stopped in front of the school with Alya, Marinette, Adrien, and Nino at the front.
"All these old buildings from a bygone era!" Ikari Gozen started before she raised her sword and struck up high.
"Hit the deck!" Plagg called out as the seven Kwamis spread out.
Ikari Gozen then struck the school as the front of it crumbled to bits. "It's time to smash the old Paris to the ground and turn it into a modern city!" She called out as she hopped away.
The seven Kwamis regrouped as they saw that the front of the school was now in pieces as they saw the students rushing out in panic. "I think Monarch decided to wake up now," Plagg commented.
"Quickly! To your holders!" Huánglóng ordered as they all flew away.
The Zodiac Kwamis then flew to their holders, who were just hiding at the basement door when they heard what was happening and saw Ikari Gozen destroying the school.
"Okay, it's been weeks and Monarch decides to strike now?!" Daniel questioned in shock as he looked at the damage. "And apparently, he's already back causing destruction." He commented.
"You know what to do young masters!" Quinlong called out.
"Right, it's time to transform!" Molly exclaimed.
"Huánglóng, Heavens Ascend!" Daniel called out.
"Baihu, Earth Rises!"
"Quinlong, Wind Rages!"
"Xuan Wu, Water Flow!"
"Nán Fāng, Fire it Up!"
The five then transformed into their Zodiac Miraculous forms as they all did superhero poses as they all rushed out of the school.
While running through the rooftops, the Zodiac teams are trying to find Ikari Gozen as they all jump or run across buildings.
"This might be our very first Miraculous battle," Molly commented as they kept going.
"Ladybug and Cat Noir might need our help since they don't have their old Team anymore." Jacob pointed out.
Daniel waved them off, "Yeah, but they kicked this Akuma's butt before, I doubt this isn't something they can't-" He was cut off as they saw a herd of Ikari Gozens attacking near the museum, "What the heck?!" He cried out as he and the others were shocked.
"Uh, wasn't there was just one?" Sam asked.
Molly looked behind her and gasped, "Um, guys?" She pointed as they turned and saw even more Ikari Gozens rampaging through the city, destroying every landmark in Paris. "Did Monarch give Ikari Gozen a new power?"
"No, this something else." Daniel argued as he looked at the Ikari Gozens, "I can sense their using a miraculous power, the power of the Mouse!"
"Wait she's using Multitude?! Why that's great!" Kara called out, which made the others turn to her.
"What do you mean, great?!" Sam asked in disbelief. "It's a disaster!"
"No, I mean it's great that Monarch gave the Mouse Miraculous to Ikari Gozen. If it's not with him anymore," She starts.
Jacob caught on, "It means, this might be our chance to get it back!" He exclaimed.
"Uh, that's great and all guys, but how are we gonna get it?" Daniel pointed out as he gestured to the army of Ikari Gozen destroying the city. "There's like a dozen Ikari Gozens, which one is real?"
"Don't worry, Xaun Wu told me that even if we can't find the real one, if even one copy's miraculous is taken the other copies will disappear," Kara said to them. "Meaning if we pick just one…"
"Then we grab the Miraculous from her and help Ladybug and Cat Noir deakumaitze her!" Daniel finished with a wide smile. "That's great! But first, we need to find Ladybug and Cat Noir. They might need backup since I doubt they ever face an Akuma with a Miraculous Power besides Queen Wasp."
"I think I know where they are." Sam pointed to the museum which was attacked relentlessly, "Why would so many Ikari Gozens be attacking one building,"
"Unless Ladybug and Cat Noir were inside," Molly exclaimed.
"Well, let's find out!" Daniel declared with a serious look. "Zodiac Team, let's move!" He ordered as they all jumped to the museum where the fight was.
With Ladybug and Cat Noir, they were dodging the giant Ikari Gozens while Cat Noir keeps his Cataclysm away from anything he touches since he needs it for the sword.
"Monarch gave the Miraculous of the Mouse to Ikari Gozen?" Ladybug asked in surprise as she dodged a sword attack.
"Good. 'Cause that's the one we're gonna get back next!" Cat Noir yelled as he tried to strike a sword.
"It is I who is going to get your Miraculous!" Ikari Gozen declared as she swiped her sword and she hopped around.
"So, you're interested in these ancient jewels now? I thought you only cared for modern technological things." Ladybug taunted as she swung her yo-yo at Ikari Gozen, which she turned and struck her sword at Ladybug, who jumped away as Cat Noir ran to her.
"Nicely played." Cat Noir commented as he smirked at Ikari Gozen. "You should give us your old Miraculous, Ikari Dozing. it's not modern enough for ya." He mocked before one of the Ikari Gozen knocked him away.
"Cat Noir!" Ladybug called out before another centaur stomped, knocking her off her feet.
"Old things can have a purpose, provided they are modernized!" Ikari Gozen yelled as she lifted up a hindleg as she was about to crush Ladybug.
Ladybug covered her eyes, waiting to be smashed. But then, at the last second something grabbed her and carried her into the air. "Wha, what's happening?" Ladybug asked before she saw a familiar face.
"Looks like you could use a hand," Molly said with a smile.
"Southern Phoenix?" Ladybug asked in surprise with a smile. "You're here!"
Phoenix raised a brow, "Uh, have we met already?" She asked before adding, "Actually I like the name."
"Wait, you don't remembe-" Ladybug trailed off as she remembered that the Zodiac Team she met was from the future when they had already met. "That's right, we haven't met yet." She muttered to herself.
"What was that, Ladybug?" Phoenix asked.
"Oh, nothing." Ladybug quickly said as she turned to Phoenix. "Sorry, but to be honest on how I know you, it's kinda hard to explain."
"Explain after we deal with Ikari Gozen and her clones," Phoenix said as she flew over the clones. "I think Cat Noir could use some help. Luckily, the others are close by." She added with a smile.
On the ground at the front of the museum, Cat Noir groaned as he managed to save his Cataclysm, but then he saw dozens of Ikari Gozens coming closer to him. "Oh, crud." He muttered.
"Need a helping paw, my blacken brother?" Sam's voice is heard as he jumps in front of Cat Noir while offering his hand.
"Western Caspian?" Cat Noir asked with a smile as he accepted his hand with his left one. "Boy, am I glad to see a fellow cat."
"Western Caspian? Heh, fitting and catchy." Caspian commented as he lifted Cat Noir up. "I don't know how you came up with that but thanks."
Cat Noir then remembered, "Oh right, the you I know isn't you right now but the you who already met from the future." He said.
Caspian raised a brow, "Beg your pardon?" He asked.
"Uh, explain later, right now, we got Ikari Gozens and a Mouse Miraculous to retrieve." Cat Noir stated while pointing to the Ikari Gozens.
"Right." Caspian nodded as the two jumped away to avoid another strike from one of the Ikari Gozens' swords.
"Two new Miraculous heroes won't do you any good!" Ikari Gozen said before something blue landed on her head, "What?"
"Not just one Horsebutt!" Jacob said as he jumped Ikari Gozen as another accidentally crashed into her as he landed next to Cat Noir and Caspian. "Looks like we're a little late to party."
"You're right on time, Eastern Hydrake." Cat Noir assured with a thumbs-up.
Hydrake was surprised by that as he raised a brow. "Eastern Hydrake? Hmm, Catchy. Think I'll use that." He said with a smile.
'What do you know, I'm naming their hero persona for them. Maybe that's how they got their names in the future.' Cat Noir that with an amusing smile. "You're welcome there, Drakey." He said.
Ikari Gozen growled in frustration, "How many of you are there?" She demanded.
"More than you can handle!" Kara called as she ran over and swung her staff at Ikari Gozen's leg knocking her down as she rushed to Phoenix and Ladybug who just came down. "It's an honor to meet you Ladybug." She said respectfully.
Ladybug raised a hand, "The honor's all mine, Northern Terrapin." She assures.
"Northern Terrapin?" Terrapin asked before giving a smile. "Hey, that's pretty fitting for the costume. Thank you." She said.
"You're welcome," Ladybug said before they turned and saw Ikari Gozen getting back up as she growled. "We need more help, where's Central Dragold?" She asked the two female heroes.
The two hero females looked at each other with brows before turning back to Ladybug. "Who?" They both asked.
Ladybug realized what she just asked as she facepalmed. "Oh right." She muttered before turning back to them, "Is there another hero with you right now?"
"Well, he should be behind us." Phoenix answered as they looked around before a gold flash jumped above them, "Oh, there he is." She pointed.
Daniel landed on the ground and started at Ikari Gozen, "Gotta say, didn't think my first Akuma would be you, Mrs. Tsurugi." He taunted with a smirk.
Ikari Gozen gasped as she gave a glare. "How do you know my name, boy?!" She demanded.
"Let's just say, I keep up with the times while also having a respect for history." He said while drawing his sword and pointing it at her. "And you are destroying every bit of history that you have no right to erase. Modernization is alright but without honoring the memories and learning from the mistakes of our past, it will only be an endless cycle of zero progress. So if you just give this up and return the Miraculous of the Mouse, you can still help make Paris better while still leaving its ancient history."
Ikari Gozen glared at Daniel and hummed, "You are very brave and surprisingly wise beyond your years boy, I will acknowledge that."
"Really?" Daniel asked with a hopeful smile.
"Yes, so I will see to it that your end will be quick and painless!" Ikari Gozen finished as she raised her sword.
Daniel sighed, "Never take the easy." He said before leaping back and rejoining the others, "Sorry I couldn't reach her." He told Ladybug.
"It's okay Central Dragold, Monarch has a way of clouding his Akuma's sense of reason. At least you tried." Ladybug assured.
Daniel rubbed his chin, "Central Dragold? Heh, I like it." He smiled.
"Uh, I hate to break this up but we still have big, huge, giant problems!" Caspian exclaimed as he pointed to the stampede of Ikari Gozens.
"That's a lot of Ikari Gozens," Phoenix commented as they backed up a bit.
"Team, retreat for now!" Ladybug ordered as they rushed into the museum rubble to hide.
The Ikari Gozens started beating the museum relentlessly as the heroes were safe for the mentIkari Gozen army while they were underneath some rumble.
"There's too many for me to use Cataclysm on." Cat Noir noted, "Have we gotta break all 12 swords at once?" He asked.
"No, if she is using the mouse Miraculous then just destroying one should stop them all." Terrapin explained as they kept their heads down, "We just need to get her to stay in one spot."
"Let me see if I can get us a hint, Foresight!" Hydrake said as he focused his power and his eyes glowed, he then saw a red and black spotted Fishing rod and then the School with Ikren Gozen's sword stuck in it.
Once the vision passed he turned to Ladybug, "I know what we need. Ladybug, can you conjure up a fishing rod?" He asked.
Ladybug was confused by that before she remembered Hydrake's special power that she learned from the future as she brought out her yo-yo. "I usually never know what it can bring out, but okay. Lucky Charm!" She tossed her yo-yo up as it created a fishing rod, which Ladybug caught. "I will never get used to knowing what Lucky Charm we're going to use." She commented.
"Think she'll take the bait?" Caspian asked with a brow.
Ladybug smirked, "We just need the right fishing spot."" She quipped as she then focused on a plan while picturing her fishing rod, the school, Ikari Sword, the support beam at the school's office, Caspian, and the Cat Noir. "Found it. Here's what you two cats are gonna do. Take this. Both of you are going to…" She then whispered to them and the rest of the team to know her plan.
The Zodiac team and Cat Noir all nodded in understanding as Ladybug gave Cat Noir the rod. "Ladybug, how about some backup to drive that red centaur off the kittens' trails?" Dragold asked with a smirk.
"Backup sounds nice," Ladybug answered with a nod, at that moment, she came out of the rumble with the Zodiac team as they leaped, flew, or swung away as Ikari Gozen stampeded after them.
Cat Noir and Caspian came out of the rumble once the coast was clear. "You ready for this, Blacky?" Caspian joked.
"Ready is my middle name, Whiteso." Cat Noir joked back as he got ready to run, "Let's see who gets there first."
Caspian smirked, "Oh I already know, me. Tiger Dasher!" He declared as he took off at breakneck speed, "Catch you later Kitten!" He called out while leaving Cat Noir behind as he looked in shock.
"Not fair. I wish I had that power." Cat Noir complained before he started running on rooftops to get to the school while also trying to catch up on Caspian.
The others are still running, swinging, or flying from the Ikari Gozens while they are giving them taunting smirks.
"So, what, there's six of you for five of us and you can't get our Miraculous from us?" Ladybug taunted.
"That's just sad. Because even with the help, you still couldn't catch one of us." Hydrake mocked as he chuckled.
"You're pretty slow for a so-called modernized villain, Ikari Dozen." Phoenix continued.
Ikari Gozen and her clones were getting frustrated by the heroes' tauntings as they jumped high over the buildings while the heroes landed in the ruins of the principal's office.
"Don't you guys think it was a little uncalled for to tick up a villain the size of a building and has an army of herself?" Dragold asked with a brow.
"Well, it's just to get her to chase us into the trap." Ladybug said as she smiled, "Sometimes being a hero means you gotta risk your life to save others."
"Well, that is true." Northern Terrapin said in agreement while the ground shook, making them turn and see the Ikari Gozen copies coming closer. "You think the cats managed to set up the trap in time?" She asked.
"Knowing Cat Noir, he never let me down before," Ladybug said as she spoke through the comlink. "Are you and Caspian ready?"
"Fishercats in position." Cat Noir joked through the comms. "Though next time white cat, I'm winning the race without you having powers." He added.
"Hey, not my fault you're not that fast." Caspian joked as the others chuckled. "Anyway, we're standing by."
"And make way for the new world!" Ikari Gozen exclaimed, thrusting her sword at the heroes.
"Or how about, hello to another crushing defeat?!" Dragold called as they dodged the sword, which made Ikari Gozen hit the end of the room and trip the fishing line, and caused a support beam to fall on her sword, which made Ikari Gozen gasp as she was about to pull it out, which caused the beam to move slightly. "Caspian, keep her down!" He called out.
"On it, Tiger Gripper!" Caspian yelled out as he rushed out and grabbed the tip of the sword, holding it down with all his strength. "I got her, Now Cat Noir!"
Cat Noir then rushed out of his hiding spot, touching the sword with his Cataclysm. "Touche!" He quipped.
Ikari Gozen's sword was destroyed, causing the megakuma to be released as it flew away.
"No more evildoing for you, Megakuma," Ladybug said, opening her yo-yo and twirling it around. "Time to de-evilize!" She called out, catching the mega Akuma, "Gotcha! Bye-bye, little butterfly." She said, looking at the butterfly flying away.
All across town, the rest of the Ikari Gozen clones then started disappearing while the real one turned back to normal with Tomoe Tsurugi's car while the rest of the heroes regrouped next to it.
"Looks like our new team works like a charm, Milady." Cat Noir quipped while raising his fist, which Ladybug did as well before turning to the Zodiac Team. "Don't just leave us hanging, come and join in." He told them.
The five Zodiac Heroes looked at each other with smiles before they raised their fists. "Pound it!" The Seven Heroes all said in unison.
Just then, Tomoe exited her car, recovering from dearomatization, and turned to the heroes, "What happened?" She asked.
"You got Akumatized again." Cat Noir explained.
"And went on a rampage, destroying every historical landmark in the city," Phoenix added, "I would've thought someone like you had a respect for history, Ma'am." She added.
Tomoe seemed surprised by what they said while giving a guilty expression and bowing her head. "I am deeply sorry. When the city refused to let me demolition the Buttes-Chaumont park to make way for my Technopole, I allowed Monarch to Akumatize me."
Dragold raised a brow at this information before looking to the woman, "Forgive me for saying this , but I find it hard to believe someone as refined and controlled as you would lose it over something like that." He said.
Tomoe bowed her head, "Believe me young man, no one is more ashamed than I for losing control over something so petty." She said shamefully.
"It's okay, Ma'am. We understand. Running a company can be hard." Hydrake said with an assuring smile. "But just remember that there are some limits to what we can build and boundaries we need to respect."
"I'm sure you can find another place to build your Technopole," Terrapin said as Tomoe gave a small smile.
"You're new heroes are very forgiving and understanding, Ladybug." Tomoe complimented. "Although I am curious, I was led to believe that Monarch acquired all the Miraculous apart from yours and Cat Noir's."
"Well, let's just say he doesn't know everything about the Miraculous," Ladybug said as she looked at the woman, "While we're on the subject , can you check whether you have a Miraculous on you?" She asked.
"Monarch must have given it to you after he akumatized you." Cat Noir added.
"Why did you ask that?" Tomoe asked in confusion.
"Well, during the fight, you use the power of the Mouse to make a dozen copies of yourself." Caspian explained, "We were hoping after we freed you, we could have it back." He requested.
Tsurugi started feeling herself over, "Can you tell me what it looks like?"
"It's a coin with a hole in the center, worn as a pendant," Ladybug explained.
Tomoe finished searching herself before she shook her head. "I don't have anything like that on me." She stated.
"Wait, you don't have a Miraculous on you?" Phoenix asked in surprise. "Are you certain?"
"I swear, I don't have one," Tomoe assured.
"That's strange. You use the power of the Mouse Miraculous when you were akumatize, but you never had the Miraculous itself?" Dragold stated while rubbing his chin.
"How did Monarch do it, then?" Ladybug asked her team.
"That's the surprise he had in store for us after lying low for so long." Cat Noir said with a hand on his chin.
Terrapin turned to them, "Why has Monarch been quiet lately?" She asked before Cat Noir and Ladybug's Miraculous started beeping.
Ladybug turned to her, "We have to go. Meet us at the Eiffel Tower at sunset and we'll explain everything." She said to the Zodiac Team, who nodded in understanding as Ladybug tossed her lucky charm in the air. "Miraculous Ladybug!" She exclaimed as the magical ladybug restored the damage that was caused during the fight before Ladybug opened up her yo-yo with a magical charm that had Ikari Gozen's color schemes on it.
Ladybug then held Tsurugi's hand and placed the magical charm in. "This magical charm will help you remember that some emotions can cloud our judgment."
"And that these old monuments of Paris are some of the reasons why this city is the most beautiful in the whole world." Cat Noir added.
Tomoe gave a smile. "Thank you." She said.
"Bug out!" Ladybug exclaimed as she and the other heroes split up to detransform as Tomoe reentered her car as it drove off.
"Tatsu, take me to the office." Tomoe order.
"Yes, Mrs. Tsurugi." The AI self-driving car said as Tomoe pressed on a ring on her fingers and a screen of Gabriel appeared.
"Tsurugi San." Gabriel greeted.
"The prototype works perfectly." Tomoe said, "And it seems Ladybug has found new warriors to aid her." She added.
Gabriel narrowed his eyes, "The Five Zodiacs. I knew it was only a matter of time before they revealed themselves." He said before giving a small smile. "But neither the less, the prototype works perfectly in every way. We can move on to the next step." He said.
"Aren't you worried that these new heroes will jeopardize your plans?" Tomoe questioned.
"Don't worry. I thought of everything to make sure we stay the course." Gabriel said as he looked at the hologram of his ring.
Tomoe nodded, "Then you hear from me again once Alliance is ready to be released." She said before hanging up.
Gabriel then gave another call as it was answered, revealing the shadowy figure of a man dressed in a dark suit with only his out of the picture, "So, I take it my gift to you was everything I promised?" The man asked.
"It worked as you said it would," Gabriel answered with a smile as he held up a ring with the Mouse Miraculous symbol on it. "I do not how you were able to find the blueprints for the miraculous or bind them to modern technology, but I will not deny they are highly effective."
"And this is only the beginning." The man said, "Once the world has been offered this gift, it's only a matter of time before you bring Ladybug, Cat Noir, and all heroes to their knees."
Gabriel smiled hopefully. "And once I have their Miraculous, you will give me what you promised?" He asked.
"You will get what you desire, but remember Gabriel, everything in life comes with a price," The man said in a low warning tone, "Once you have the miraculous of Destruction and Creation, and make your wish, you hand over them and all the other miraculous you have to me."
"All I wanted was to bring my wife back to us," Gabriel said with his head down. "Once she is returned to me, the Miraculous are yours to do as you wish."
The man then seemed to lean forward, "If you fail to deliver the payment Agreste, I will see to it that your wife isn't the only thing you will have lost." He said ominously as Gabriel gave him a firm glare and nodded his head in understanding as the man leaned back into the shadows, as if he was never there at all, "Get it done then, after all…you seem to be running on a time limit." he finished as he gave a chuckle before hanging up.
Gabriel growled before he opened his sleeve and checked his left arm to reveal a handprint with a poison that was spreading through him. Knowing that his mysterious partner was right, Gabriel must act quickly for him to get the other Miraculous soon before it is too late for him.
At sundown, Ladybug and Cat Noir waited for a bit as the Zodiac Team all made it to the Eiffel Tower.
"Okay, we're here at sunset sharp," Dragold said as he and his team walked up to the two. "Now, mind telling us why Monarch is only showing up now?" He asked.
"Yesh He made a pretty big boast about attacking us relentlessly but it's been weeks since he last showed his face," Hydrake added.
"We've been wondering about that too, but we think it has something to do with our failed trap," Ladybug said while giving a shameful look.
"Trap? What do you mean?" Phoenix asked in wonder.
"Well, a few days after Monarch's first showed, Ladybug formed a plan to lure him to us and a shot to take the Miraculous back from him." Cat Noir started.
"We lured him to many clues until we got him to the museum in the hall of heroes, which he fell for." Ladybug continued. "We ambushed him, I tied him in my lucky charm and Cat held him at Cataclysm point so that I could get the Miraculous off him."
"Wow, that's pretty sneaky." Dragold complimented before raising a brow, "So, what happened? What went wrong?" He asked, remembering they said it was a failed trap.
Cat Noir looked at his hands trembling while Ladybug looked down in shame. "Instead of accepting defeat and letting take the Miraculous back…Monarch forced Cat Noir to use Cataclysm on him." She said.
The five Zodiac heroes all gasped in shock at what they just heard. "He did WHAT?!" They all yelled.
"He made you Cataclysm him, Cat Noir?!" Terrapin asked in shock. "Is he crazy!? Cataclysm on a living being is very dangerous! Even for a Miraculous Holder!"
"I know! I'm still in shock by what happened, I know it was Monarch, but it was still someone behind that mask." Cat Noir said while looking at his hand where his ring was.
Caspian sighed as he got back on topic, "So what happened next?" He asked with his arms crossed.
Ladybug rubbed her arm while answering. "Just before I could use my lucky charm to reverse the damage or take a Miraculous from him, he used the power of the Horse to teleport away." She explained solemnly.
The others looked at them silently as Dragold turned away and sighed before glancing back, "What exactly happens to someone when Cataclysm has taken effect." He asked.
"We don't know." Cat Noir said uncertainly and worried. "I've never used my Cataclysm on someone before. I mean, I've experienced it when my powers were stolen, but all that was undone by Ladybug." He explained. "But from what my Kwami told me, it takes a long time before a Cataclysm destroys a human."
"Well, which explains why Monarch was laying low for weeks. He must've been trying to recover and find another way to get your Miraculous." Phoenix said as she scratched her head, "I'm still wondering how got the Mouse Miraculous' power without the Miraculous itself."
"This must've been what Monarch's been up to." Hydrake guessed, "He must've found a way to charge his Megakumas with the Miraculous's power."
Ladybug frowned, "Meaning, that without knowing where Monarch's hiding we'll never save the Kwamis." She said sadly.
"Actually," Dragold said as Ladybug turned to him, "There is still a way."
"Wait, really? How?" Cat Noir asked hopefully.
"After our fight with Ikari Gozen, our Kwamis explained to us that there's another way to recover the Miraculous and rescue the Kwamis." Dragold started with a serious look. "If a Miraculous holder is using a Miraculous power outside of their own, it's possible for me to extract the power along with the jewel and Kwami they belong to."
"And since we know there's a connection between Monarch and his Akumatized villains," Hydrake started as Ladybug and Cat Noir understood.
"Then the connection they shared is the link to the Miraculous as well!" Ladybug said with a big hopeful smile. "Meaning that there's a chance we can rescue them!"
Dragold pointed to her with a click of his tongue, "Bingo! All we have to do is to do extract the power from the akumatized object before you devilize it. And that Miraculous will be out of Monarch's grasped." He finished.
Cat Noir chuckled, "How about that, Monarch used your powers as the connection to get the Miraculous and now we're using his to get them back." He told Ladybug as she laughed.
"But one other thing," Caspian spoke as the two turned to him. "Once we reclaim a Miraculous, we must return it to the owner you've chosen for it, Ladybug. That way it will be harder for Monarch to steal them again."
Ladybug was surprised by that. "But, Monarch knows most of the other heroes' identities. If I do that, they'll be targeted, and so will their friends and families." She stated.
Dragold raised his hand, "Don't worry, our Kawmi's explained that the extraction takes a toll on Monarch and as a side-effect, he won't remember the identity of the holders you've chosen." He explained. "That way, they will be safe and out of harm's way while also protecting the Miraculous."
"Okay, where were you guys when Monarch first found out the other heroes' identities during the Miracle Queen incident?" Cat Noir asked with a smirk. "Because we could've used you when that happened."
"We weren't around at the time, but we're here now," Phoenix said with a grin.
"Alright team, this fight just got a whole lot more challenging," Dragold said seriously. "Because now that Monarch found a way to transfer Miraculous power, we gotta be ready for anything to get those jewels back."
"And once we do, Monarch will lose his power and his chances of winning," Hydrake added.
"So when the next Akmuatize villain strikes, we got to find signs of miraculous powers being used. Once they're down, we'll use our powers to extract the Miraculous right out of them." Phoenix spoke next.
"And then, with Monarch's memory erased, we can return them to the previous holders of said Miraculous," Caspian said.
"Meaning that we got to take any chance of saving the Kwamis we can get," Terrapin added.
"It's a race for the Miraculous, and one we can't lose." Cat Noir said as they turned to the sunset, knowing somewhere out there in the City Monarch was plotting his next move.
"Game on." Ladybug finished with a serious look, determined to defeat Monarch and get back the Miraculous he stole and rescue the Kwamis, no matter what.
