Heres the next chapter. I do not own Supernatural in any way, shape, or form. Any characters that you don't know are purely made up. Enjoy!
The creature must have heard them coming since it seemed like it was ready for them. The scene kept replaying of the thing grabbing a gun and shooting it. Other people - probably hunters - had come to help diffuse the situation.
There was a voice the stood out from the rest of the chaos. "S... stay with me." It wasn't Sam's voice, but it was so comforting. He could also remember hearing sirens, so was he at the hospital, hooked up to a machine? Would he wake up to find Sam sitting beside him?
"Sam's dead..." a voice spoke up. "The creature killed him, all because you wasn't there to protect him."
"Stay with me..."
"Sam's dead now because of you. You was supposed to look out for him and protect him."
"I..." Dean wanted to yell or scream at this voice whatever it was.
"You're poison, Dean..." the rude voice started to fade away.
But if Sam was dead, what else did he have to live for?
"Dean... you need to wake up..." Sam. But he was probably just imagining his brother's voice.
Sam was sitting beside Dean. A few days had already passed, in which he hadn't left his brother's side.
Emily walked over. "You need to go to sleep," she frowned.
Sam shook his head. "Not until I know for sure that Dean is okay."
A couple of hours later, they heard a deep growl coming from outside, followed by gunshots.
Emily frowned, then quickly got up and went outside to help.
"Come on, Dean. You need to wake up," he reached over to grab Dean's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. Every instinct he had told him that he needed to go and help them, but he also knew that he needed to stay here.
A deep growl sounded again. I need to help them, he thought to himself. He pulled the gun from his waistband, quickly checking it. He walked outside, standing guard at the door.
A creature was looming near the forest. It glanced over when it noticed Sam.
Sam shot it with silver bullets as it snarled angrily. He nodded over at Noah when he noticed that he had a silver blade. Stab it in the heart, he silently willed him.
He glanced around for Emily, frowning when he didn't see her, then glanced back at the creature, as it swatted Noah to the side.
Sam pulled out his own blade as the creature came closer. "Come on," he said, clutching the blade tighter. "This is for Dean," he said when the creature came closer, then stabbed the blade through it's heart.
The creature hissed and snarled, swatting Sam against a tree, then it fled away uttering a tiny shrill. Sam slowly pushed himself up as he watched it retreating.
Sam headed back inside with Emily and Noah behind him. "What the heck was that thing?" Emily asked.
Sam didn't have an answer for her, so he just quickly checked on Dean. "Do you have a computer here?" He asked, glancing at them. "I need to get some research done."
Noah nodded. "Yeah, its ancient though," he nodded towards where a computer was set up in the very back.
Dean glanced around at his surroundings. Where was he anyway? This was a dream, right? Or was he dead? He swallowed nervously at that. "Hello?" He called out. "Anyone here?"
No response. He paused a moment to glance around. He decided to walk a little bit deeper in what looked like some kind of forest, except the trees were all dead, as was the grass and bushes.
"Hello, Dean," a familiar wispy voice spoke up from behind him. "You're back in Hell now, with me."
Dean clenched his fist, glancing over at the guy who just spoke. "Alastair."
"You do remember me," Alastair purred. "Welcome back to Hell."
Dean shook his head. "No, Sam killed you..."
"Guess again," Alastair chuckled. "I am not dead."
This was just a dream, and he needed to wake up. He thought about Sam. His brother needed him. They were up against something they had never encountered before.
Sam was doing some research, trying to find out anything he could about that thing. He jumped as a sudden voice spoke up.
"Whats going on here?!" That man from earlier - who seemed to be their leader. Hunters didn't have leaders though, but these did. "We could have been killed."
Emily exchanged a glance with Noah. "We took care of it, James," she spoke up after a moment. "Actually, Sam took care of it."
Sam got up from the computer then rejoined his newfound friends."It was a team effort," he corrected.
James shook his head. "I don't care, my team could have been hurt or worse today."
Noah rolled his eyes, but he just stayed silent.
Sam sighed, then went over to sit down beside Dean so they could chat privately. "Dean, can you hear me?" he asked softly, but he ended up falling asleep in the chair.
A few moments after Sam fell asleep, Dean slowly opened his eyes. He had to squint since the light was so bright, but he wasn't in the hospital. His vision was still a little blurry as he noticed someone walking towards him. "You're awake," she said happily. "Sam," she shook him, "your brother is awake."
Sam quickly woke up after that, sighing in relief when his gaze landed on Dean, whose eyes were open. "Hey," he smiled, quickly moving to his brother's side. "Emily, could you get him some water?"
Emily nodded as she walked off.
Dean glanced at Sam in confusion, as Emily brought the water back. Sam helped Dean sit up as Emily put the cup to his lips. The water was cold and refreshing.
Sam knew that Dean hated it when people helped him, but he was obviously in bad shape to not resist their help. "You do know me right?" He asked, wanting to make sure that Dean didn't have amnesia.
Dean just nodded, then glanced over at Emily as she put the cup down. "Thats Emily," Sam introduced her. "And that over there is Noah. And you were shot."
Emily flashed him a smile. "Speaking of which, I need to check on your wound." She said, walking over to grab the first aid kit.
James was watching them, his eyes narrowed. He didn't like those Winchesters, but how could he get rid of them? If the other hunters knew what he was plotting, then everyone would probably decide to leave him.
"Noah, Emily," he called out. "I need you two to patrol the woods to make sure that thing is completely gone. Besides, I think they might need some time alone."
Emily frowned, then exchanged a glance with Noah. She wasn't sure about leaving her patient, but figured since Sam was also a hunter, they probably knew first aid.
Noah glanced up at that, then glanced over at Sam and Dean.
Sam nodded, "you guys should go."
Emily nodded, then walked off with Noah following behind her.
Dean watched them leave. "They seemed nice," he said softly. "And that's," he paused for a moment as if he had already forgotten their names. "Emily and Noah?"
Sam nodded. "Yeah, Noah was the one who saved you and Emily patched you up."
Dean fell silent at that, then leaned back to get comfortable.
Sam glanced over when he noticed that James was just watching them.
James narrowed his eyes. "Now that your brother is awake, you two xan get out of here before you bring that thing back." He stalked off.
Sam opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again. His brother was still to weak to move on his own, and the Impala was parked really far away.
"You heard him, Sammy," Dean said after a moment. "We need to be-" He dragged himself off the bed, but his legs quickly gave out with him and he almost crashed to the ground, but Sam was fast enough to catch him before he fell.
Sam sighed. "I don't think so, Dean." He easily got him back on the bed, then went to grab some water. "We'll wait for Emily and Noah to get back, so we can-" he trailed off when their was a loud growling sound coming from outside. Crap!
There was no doubt, the creature had come back for round two.
