After defeating Giganto at Glacier Plains, Flamberge and Entrapta, now tasked by Maxxor to clean up the Overworld, were being led to various places throughout the Overworld, to locate and collect shards with Kathlaa.

"Let's see… it looks like the Ends shards are mostly concentrated in the over world. Lucky us!" Entrapta said, checking her scanner. "That way, we can keep the situation contained and make sure our mission remains a secret to the other tribes."

"I suggest we collect the ones on the edge of the Mipedian and Danian borders first. We'll hit Gigantemopolis last for the final shard." Kathlaa suggested.

"Sounds like a plan," Flamberge said. "Hopefully, we won't have to deal with the other two titans."

"Careful Berge, you might jinx us," Entrapta said.

"Don't worry, we'll be fine," Flamberge said. "We have Kathlaa with us, and she's an incredible fighter!" she said with confidence, pointing with her hand to the 7-foot-tall, muscular tigress who blushed and giggled.

"Please… you praise me too much!" Kathlaa giggled.

"You were amazing in that earlier fight too, Berge. You cast Kathlass Mugic, and you're not even a Perim native." Entrapta said.

"Yeah, I was wondering why was able to cast that… Mugic, you called it?" Flamberge asked Kathlaa. "I think it's because I'm already a Magic user. Mugic is kinda like magic spells, right?"

"You'd be right. Mugic are powerfully crafted spells. Designed to either mega boost you, or to lay the smackdown on your opponents." Kathlaa explained. "I wondered why Flamberge was able to cast Canin of Causality though. She's not an Underworlder, and Canon of Causality is a Tribal Mugic."

"Cannon of Causality is a fire-based Mugic, right?"Flamberge aske

"It is." Kathlaa nodded, before realizing. "...Oooooh! Now it makes sense! Because you're a fire mage, or fire muge, whatever, you were able to cast it!"

"Yep! In my world, my Sisters and I are known as the Three Mage Sisters." Flamberge declared proudly. "My older sister Zan is a Lighting Mage, and Fransisca is an Ice Mage. And me? Im a proud Fire Mage!" she said, holding a fireball in her hand.

"That explains it then. The mugician saw that and immediately went over to you so you could cast Canon of Causality." Kathlaa smiled.

"But odds are, I won't be able to do that again." Flamberge said. "I dunno if i'll be able to cast other Underworld Mugic because im not an Underworlder."

"Maybe not their utility mugics like Song of Asperity, Song of Fury or something else. But I wouldn't put it past you to use Canon of Causality again should the need arise." Kathlaa ensured.

"Here's how I understand it, then. Some Mugic are divided among tribes, but there are mugics that can be used by all four of them." Entrapta said. "And only the correct tribe can cast tribal mugic."

"But if you're an Overworlder, why'd you try to cast an Underworld Mugic back there?" Flamberge asked.

"...Keepsake from an old friend," Kathlaa stated. "As an Overworlder, I can't cast Underworld Mugic, but… I spent 4 Solons in captivity in Underworld…. Takinom took care of me when Chaor wanted me tortured. She paved my way to escape… by helping me defeat Chaor. As a parting gift, she gave me that Mugic. The Canon of Causality, to use when I deemed necessary….. I don't have the heart, should I see her again, to tell her I wasted it." Kathlaa sighed.

"You were held captive in the Underworld? Why?" Flamberge asked as they walked a bit.

"Because the Underworlders wanted to kill Intress. To make a statement. It was… rougher times during that period." Kathlaa stated. "You know I'm the youngest Overworlder to ever survive Underworld captivity, and make the rank of General?"

"Seriously?! How old are you?!" Flamberge asked in shock.

"53 solons, baby!" Kathlaa winked.

"That would make you close to a middle-aged adult! …Unless my math is wrong." Entrapta said.

"If your math puts the end of teenage years at 34 solons then nope, your math is on point!" Kathlaa smiled. "I'm a young woman in my prime, baby! In earth Years, they say I'm peak age for most supermodels, whatever that means… teehee!"

"You look great!" Flamberge complimented.

"Aw man, you're flirting with me!" Kathlaa teased. "And I'm going to stay this way for many solons to come!"

"Huh? How come?" Flamberge asked.

"Oh! I bet the Creatures of Perim age slower than compared to regular humans!" Entrapta guessed.

"Thaaaat's right! Humans die out at anywhere from 160 to 200 solons, some a little more. But we Creatures can live to be nearly 600 solons! The oldest recorded Creature whose name I forgot lived to be 1,238 solons old!" Kathlaa declared.

"Do the math, carry the 2…. 619 YEARS OLD!?" Entrapta asked in shock.

"In Earth years, yes!" Kathlaa beamed.

"So if I'm calculating right, you're not actually 53 in earth years," Entrapta said. "You're actually 26 and a half!"

"Bingo~!" Kathlaa smiled. "No one my age has ever risen the ranks of the Overworld army to general in just a short amount of time! Not even Tangath Toborn!"

"So how did you manage to do it?" Flamberge asked.

"The fact I survived Underworld captivity. Not to mention Intress vouching for me given the fact I saved her life." Kathlaa said. "Maxxor demanded I become a higher-up once she did. A reliable General he could get reports from. Of course, Najarin and Bodal had arguments. But surprisingly, the other General, which is Tangath Toborn, vouched that I should be a General as well!" Kathlaa spoke. "And well, here I am! I also have Intress to thank. Back when I was still a kit, she saw potential in me, and trained me fiercely, but fairly."

"Oooh sounds like a story!" Entrapta said. "Nothing wrong with getting to know someone new while we work!"

"You're right Entrapta. It'll be cool to hear all about you, Kathlaa. And it'll help pass the time while we collect any shards we find. I'm kinda curious about how you were raised and got to be so strong."

"And also why you look more human than any other Overworld Creature in Perim," Entrapta added.

"Eheeh… I guess I do look more human than most of my Overworld allies. Well…. Time to let that cat out of the bag….." Kathlaa stated before taking a deep breath.

"My father was a human."

"...WHAT?!" both non-chaotic player girls asked in shock

"Yep… surpriiiiise." Kathlaa chuckled. "Believe me, I haven't told anyone this secret. Not Maxxor, Intress, nor any Chaotic player I know who's earned my respect enough to get a scan of me as well…. The only person who knows… is Najarin."

"Why does he know but no one else?" Flamberge asked.

"He knows because he's the one….. …Who executed my mother and father, both," Kathlaa explained.

As they journeyed to the Overworld/Mipedian border of Broken Edge to collect the 2nd End Fragment, Kathlaa explained about the entire fiasco. Her mother was a tigress, like Intress, who became incredibly close with her father, a well-renowned Chaotic player. He and Kathlaa's mother were closer than any other human had gotten to a Creature. But it was a love that was seen as taboo by many, even the Underworld. It needed to be stopped before procreation could happen. Najarin did what had to be done, killing them both… but realized he was too late upon hearing the crying of a baby. Ever since then, Najarin kept the executions, and Kathlaa's true origins a secret. The reason they hold so much trust for another….

"Wait! A chaotic player was actually…?!" Entrapta started.

"SH SH SHHHH SHHHHHH!" Kathlaa exclaimed at Entrapta's question. "Don't say it in the open!"

"Sorry, sorry…! No talking about it near the Mipedian border…" Entrapta said. "Shard first, then questions."

Speaking of, they soon reached the border where the border guard on deck for the day, Malvadine, saw them.

"Ahh, fresh meat from Overworld, I see." Malvadine chuckled.

"Oh, hello, Malvadine. I was just doing routine patrols, chatting with my fellow Chaotic Players here. They've lost their scanners, you see. I'm trying to help them find them." Kathlaa explained.

"Y-Yeah, my name's Fla-er… Berge! Berge is my name. My screen name is…. FireStarBlast!" Flamberge said, coming up with a nickname on the spot.

"And I'm… er… Enta! My screen name's ChaoScientistH2O!" Entrapta said to the Mipedian, spotting the fragment behind Malvadine and starting to manipulate one of her pigtails to grab it from its crater a few feet away. "Keep him talking," she whispered to Kathlaa so only she could hear.

"So how are things in your territory, Mal? Anything Overworld needs to know about?" Kathlaa asked.

"Here I was thinking Overworld didn't care. But nah. The only Mipedian business you need to know about is that we exist, nothing more, nothing less. Even if it's you, Kathlaa." Malvadine remarked.

"Aww, are you saying that because you respect me? Or secretly love me?" Kathlaa teased.

"Tch-! As if I'd ever love an Overworlder! Y-you just are someone who earned my respect, that's all! If anything, the Prince might ask for your hand to ascend to kingship should he decide!" Malvadine blushed a bit.

"Aw, you lizards are so cute when you're flustered." Kathlaa giggled, checking to see where Entrapta was on getting the shard. She had extended her hair long enough to grab the shard from its crater and reel it in quietly. Thankfully Malvadine didn't notice where it was, and thanks to Kathlaa, he didn't notice the princess's work as Entrapta soon reeled it in.

"Well, it was nice chatting with you, Malvadine, but I should really get these Chaotic players their scanners back. Keep an eye out for them on your end of the border, okay?" Kathlaa asked.

"Sure, you bet. If there's one thing all tribes agree on, it's the safety of Chaotic Players." Malvadine saluted.

Once that was done, the group passed back over onto the Overworld side of Broken Edge, out of Malvadine's sight and hearing.

"Phew, that was close…!" Entrapta said. "Luckily he was so fixed on you, Kathlaa, or else he would have noticed my work, captured us, and sent us right to the Mipedian big shots for questioning!"

"Eugh! That entire conversation made me shiver…." Kathlaa groaned. "I'm glad I can pull off that sweet talk, but you wouldn't believe how many Mipedians give me what I want from them just because they idolize my body. They're dying to send me off to their Prince for marriage and ascension as Mipedia's Queen. As if! Eugh!"

"You? Married to those lizards?!" Flamberge laughed. "You're a 7-foot tall, athletic tigress lady who can probably kick all the Mipedians scaly butts! Why would they ever wanna take up your hand for marriage?"

Kathlaa soon shot a look that read "That's exactly why they want me." right at Flamberge, as if Flamberge just made a completely obvious comment that made the docket for every male's dream list.

"Oh…" Flamberge said.

"Yeah, in terms of females in Perim, I'm cream of the crop. I've been asked by Danians for dates, Mipedians for dates, hell, Tangath HIMSELF has wanted to date me!" Kathlaa exclaimed.

"Isn't he older than you?" Entrapta asked.

"Older?! He's immortal! He's from the Spiritlands! Age means nothing to him! Hell, he'll just make me immortal with him if he loves me enough and can get my hand in marriage!" Kathlaa exclaimed. "Seriously, the Chaotic Players? They're TAME compared to what Perim wants to do with Perim's Sexiest Model, being me!"

"Sounds like you can't even stand everything about Perim."

"Believe me… if I had a chance to leave Perim and explore what lies beyond, I would, if nothing else love to get away from the perverts, because there's even some in the Underworld too. But…I can't. My duty is to the Overworld, and I intend to serve it well. I'll never betray it, including leaving it to become a Tribeless wanderer." Kathlaa declared.

"Tribeless wanderer?" Flamberge asked.

"Some creatures don't consign themselves to a tribe," Entrapta said. "Some of them live in this location called Prexxor Chasm. But those guys? They're primal, savage creatures who fight every day for survival."

"Bingo. Right on the money. Some are wanderers who are more tame than those in the Chasm. Others…. eugh…" Kathlaa shivered at the thoughts of some.

The trio continued on, collecting more and more shards along the way before making their way into the Riverlands, where another shard was supposed to be, when suddenly, Kathlaa's senses flared. Her ears perked up straight, and her tail stood straight-ended.

"...There's a hostile here. My tiger senses can feel it." Kathlaa declared.

"A titan?" Flamberge asked, Entrapta checking her scanner.

"No, not as strong as that big guy we fought." Kathlaa declared.

"It's a Guardian, for sure. They're advanced robot drones that have all sorts of different functions and forms." Entrapta said. "Watch out. We could be dealing with a Shark, a Squid, a tower-type enemy or-"

"WATCH OUT!" Kathlaa yelled, suddenly blocking a seemingly unseeable strike.

As the attack was blocked, the figure was revealed to be the Guardian Ninja, as Kathlaa kicked it back a bit.

(Cue: Guardian: NINJA-Sonic Frontiers OST)

NINJA

"Its a Ninja!" Flamberge said.

"You okay, Kathlaa? It didn't cut you, did it?" Entrapta said. "Take it from me, those blades are sharp!"

"It cut into me a bit… but not my body." Kathlaa stated, looking at the dent in the hidden sword she had drawn. "Damnit, gonna need to get this forged by Tangath. AGAIN."

"Don't worry, this guardian is an easy mark. We just need to watch its attacks and avoid its blades, and strike back at it." Flamberge said, getting her sword. "It's fast, though."

"I'm fast too, this thing's gonna need to try harder than this to stop me. Firstly, let's try and get it worn out. LAVALANCHE!" Kathlaa exclaimed, pounding the ground as a magma eruption came from it, sending lava at Ninja.

The guardian weaved around it, dashing to Kathlaa to strike with its bladed arms, but this time Flamberge parried it, and countered with a flaming slash.

"Right where I want it! A foe this fast needs to slow down a bit! Stop its flow! Song of Stasis!" Kathlaa declared.

Snippet: Song of Stasis - Chaotic OST

When the tune played, a beam of light soon quickly shot down from above and paralyzed the guardian.

"Its completely frozen!" Entrapta said.

"Strike it now! HRAAAAH!" Kathlaa yelled as she began laying into Ninja with her energy-formed claws.

"Right behind you!" Flamberge said as she summoned five additional swords and launched them at Ninja, skewering it and burning it up. "Gotcha!" she said, charging in and slashing with her sword, executing a three-slash combo before following up by rapidly thrusting her sword at super-fast speeds, stabbing Ninja all over.

Dismal!

Kathlaa followed up with a quick shot of Icicle Barrage before rapidly kicking Ninja over and over again.

Crazy!

Flamberge then followed up after Katglas kick barrage by closing in with a flambing thrust before finishing off by enlarging hwe swwod a bit and dealing Ninja three giant flame slashes at two diagonal angles for big damage.

Badass!

Kathlaa leapt above Ninja and unleashed Landgorge, which hit Ninja multiple times more, as sadly, it ripped it apart before more damage could be done to it. Leaving the Style Rating at:

Abysmal!

"We got it!" Flamberge said as Entrapta collected the shard.

"Impressive moves, Kathlaa! A master of hand-to-hand combat, and you have skills with Fire and Earth Attacks." Entrapta noted. "Your data also says you have proficiency with Water attacks… impressive! You are a creature who is skilled with three Elements! Only a select few creatures can only master two."

"I know! I'm awesome like that." Kathlaa giggled. "To tell you the truth, I didn't start out by having proficiency in Fire Attacks. Like Intress, I used to be only good at Water and Earth. …Like the Mugic though, time in the Underworld changed that."

"In addition to helping you survive in the Underworld, Takinom also helped you learn Fire attacks." Entrapta guessed.

"Bingo." Kathlaa nodded.

"Why did Takinom do so much for you?"

"...Because she didn't want to upset her sister. She didn't want Intress to be without me." Kathlaa said.

"Intress and Takinom? Sisters?!" Flamberge said.

"But that can't be! Intress is cat-like same as you, and Takinom is an Underworlder, probably a demoness!" Entrapta said.

"But did you notice their skin colors? They share the same skin color. Orange. They share the same hair color. Red. They also share similar physiques, similar codes of honor. Similar traits to one another. In all reality, more is shared between them than you believe." Kathlaa explained. "Takinom told me all about it while in the Underworld…"

And so, as they picked up more shards, about 5 by the time Kathlaa finished, she explained how Takinom was actually part of the Overworld, a Tigress herself in younger solons of her life, before becoming cursed by the Underworld strategist known as Lord Van Bloot, robbing Takinom straight from the Overworld, and leaving two sisters in heartbreak. The years weren't kind to them, growing more distant, more like enemies than sisters… and sadly, for many siblings separated by Overworld and Underworld, such as Aivenna and Nivenna… that reality is a sad truth that only drives the two tribes farther apart.

Kathlaa also told them her story about being brought up in the overworld herself. She never knew her parents because Najarin executed them both right after she was born. However, rather than kill her, Najarin looked after Kathlaa like his own daughter, to make up for a now regrettable mistake on his end. Afjak was one mistake he couldn't fix. He wouldn't do the same mistake for Kathlaa.

Najarin sensed Kathlaa's potential to be a strong warrior when he held her for the first time, and felt compelled to raise her up to be Overworld's strongest defender. As her acting foster parent, a bond of their own developed between them. It's why Kathlaa and Najarin are so close, and why Najarin's heart has softened some.

And Najarin's predictions about Kathlaa's potential were true. In her birth, the Chaotic Code of her human father, and Creature mother, mixed together, to create a kind of super Creature, with higher stats than most others, as well as the ability to quite potentially master all the elements in due time. During her time in the Underworld however, Najarin was devastated, drawn to the brink of despair and agony, and nearly told Intress what he had done out of his own guilt. However, Kathlaa returned before Najarin could reveal his own sins to Intress or even Maxxor, and thus, all became well again, and the rest is history.

"Najarin says I might be the only creature in Perim to be born of the union of creature and human. My Chaotic Code is… unique. Not to mention, it seems to be adaptable." Kathlaa explained.

"Adaptable?" Entrapta asked curiously.

"For whatever reason, despite being in Perim, I find myself growing stronger and weaker in certain places to adapt to the strength of the tribe. Like for the Danians, I get an incredible boost to combat their Hive mindset. For Mipedians, I end up slightly weaker to face them in honorable combat. In the Underworld, I'm strong enough to defeat Chaor one on one." Kathlaa explained.

"It must be because you're not fully a creature." Entrpata guessed. "You were born from the mating of a creature and a human. Here, let me see something for a second, your life story had me wondering…"

Entrapta put her scanner towards Kathlaa and recorded her data one more time, this time sampling her genetics, soon getting the results.

"Ah-ha! Just as I thought!" Entrapta realized. "Take a look at this, Flamberge! It explains everything!

Flamberge took a look, seeing that Entrapta took a DNA test, and found out that Kathlaa was half human, half Creature. A hybrid.

"Uh, Entrapta? It's a given already that Kathlaa was half human, what does showing us her rest results mean if we already know this stuff?" Flamberge asked.

"It means that since she's half-human, it means her code is radically different from other creatures, in the fact that she can adapt to any area in Perim." Entrapta said. "This means, that if anyone acquired a scan of her in the Overworld with her normal stats, but found her in the Underworld, Mipedian Territory, or Mount Pillar and scanned another copy of her there… no two copies of her card data would be the same as the other!"

"...No wonder players have been so fascinated by me. Well, the ones who have my scans that is, which isn't much." Kathlaa mused.

"Huh?" Flamberge asked. "You mean, there aren't many people who have scans of you?"

"Only four Chaotic Players have ever been given the chance to scan me and use me in combat. Tom, Kaz, Sarah, and Peyton are their real names." Kathlaa stated. "I've often been asked by them why the scans they all have of me differ."

"That's probably because they've scanned you when you were in different places," Entrapta said.

"Only slightly different. Kaz insists he's the luckiest one for scanning me in the Underworld. But his variant is only rivaled by Tom's." Kathlaa explained. "But the thing is… neither him, Tom, nor Peyton and Sarah have my true form. They all scanned me before I became a General."

"You mean the data I have from scanning you now is…?" Entrapta asked as Kathlaa nodded.

"The true me," Kathlaa responded. "The one and true Kathlaa, General of the Overworld's army."

"And since you became a General, no ones been able to scan you?" Flamberge asked. "Talk about denying people."

"I only trust so many players with my valuable biometrics, okay!?" Kathlaa huffed with a pouty face.

"Hey, I'm not judging you at all," Flamberge said.

"Neither am I," Entrapta said.

"Well, I'm thankful for that at least." Kathlaa smiled before they picked up another shard. "Hey, how many shards is that?"

"We have seven. There were nine that landed in the overworld." Entrapta said. "I'm picking up the last two shards in two different locations. The first is located in this place called…Skeletal Springs?"

"Eugh… I hate that place! The smell of skeletal remains always makes me nauseated…." Kathlaa urped.

"Oh, right… cats have sensitive noses." Flamberge recalled.

"As for the last one, the shard seems to be on the move. It's a really strong signal. Could be another titan." Entrapta said.

"Ugh… so we have to fight one of those things… while in Skeletal Springs…? …Let's just get it over with." Kathlaa groaned.

"If we're lucky, the Titan wont be there," Flamberge said.

"If we're lucky…" Kathlaa mused.
