After the battle against Eggman's army. Sonic, Tails, and Peke repaired the damages of the house. Sonic and Tails explained the situation to everyone.
1 hour later...
Ming: So this mad man who is you're archnemesis, came to this world, and he's after my little Mei-Mei!!!
Peke: Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Ms. Ming, please calm down. Look, I know your daughter is a terrible danger, but the good news is we're here to help.
Jin: Honey, he's got a good point. If were gonna keep Mei safe, these guys are our best bet.
Ming takes a deep breath.
Ming: Fine, I'll leave the three of you to look after my little Mei-Mei, but if anything happens to her, I swear I will never forgive you for this.
Peke: See, we can work this out.
Sonic: What about Eggman?
Peke: What about him?
Tails: He's out there somewhere.
Peke: That's impossible. He doesn't even know where we are. The best thing we can do for now is wait until he shows up.
Sonic: I hope you know what you're doing, Peke.
Peke: Don't worry, Sonic. I know what I'm doing.
Tails: We should go check on the girls before we leave back to our house.
Peke, Sonic, and Tails entered Mei's room.
Mei: Oh hey guys.
Peke: Hey Mei, we have something to tell you.
A few minutes later...
Mei: WHAT!!!!!!
Mei yelled so loud that birds flied away.
Tails: I'm sorry but we don't have a choice. We have to protect you.
Sonic: Tails is right. If Eggman is after you, then it's best that we stay here to protect you.
Mei: But what about school?
Peke: Your friends can watch over you at school. You have nothing to worry about your life in our hands.
Miriam: Peke's right, as long as were here with you we'll protect you Mei.
Tails: Well, we've talked to your parents and they agreed on it. So it's a plan. Sonic, you and Peke we'll protect Mei from danger. Miriam, Priya and Abby, you guys will make sure that Mei doesn't release her... wild side.
Sonic: Sounds like a good plan.
Peke: Yeah I'm in.
Tails: Then it's settled, Let's do this.
Peke: Wait! Before we start this, there's one more thing we need to do.
Everyone looked at Peke and said.
Everyone: What is it?
A few minutes later...
Peke was eating a hamburger while everyone also had one in a restaurant. Sonic and Tails were sitting on Peke's side of the table, while Mei and her friends were sitting on the other side of the table.
Peke: I love this burger so much. There like the best burgers I've ever tasted. You know you guys have to try them there so good.
Miriam: Can we focus?
Peke finished his burger. Then proceeded to eat his fries.
Miriam: Sonic, what can you tell us more about this Dr. Eggman?
Sonic: He's an evil mad scientist. Who wants to conqueror the world and turn it into an amusement park.
Mei: Amusement park?
Tails: Yeah, an evil amusement park.
Priya: Wow.
Abby: Seriously, a mad scientist who wants to turn an entire world into a park. Pathetic!
Tails: Yeah, but all we know is that if Eggman gets his hands on Mei's power, were all in danger.
The TV of the restaurant turned on and showed a news announcement that showed Peke and Sonic.
News Reporter: We interrupt this program for an important news report. There was an army of robots invading our beloved city. But then two figures defending our city from these invaders.
Peke: Hey look, We're on TV.
News Reporter: Our heroes were battling these invaders from the likes of their archnemesis Dr.Eggman, a scientist who is still no where to be found.
Peke: At least they know we're heroes.
News Reporter: As we know, Dr.Eggman is on the hunt for a mysterious power from a little named Mei Ling.
Mei: Huh?
News Reporter: Her mother Ming. Who is also involved in this. The power that Ming has passed on to her daughter may have put her life in danger. This photograph has footage of the chase between our heroes, Ming and Mei.
A video played.
Peke: Look, it's us.
Tails: Oh no.
Sonic: What's wrong Tails?
Tails: Don't you get it? Know that it's on the news, everyone will know that Mei is the red panda.
Peke: Oh boy. So you think the rest of her family might come by?
Tails: It's possible.
Mei: Oh no! I can't have the rest of my family involved in this. They also possess the power of the red panda too!
Sonic: And not only will Eggman try to steal your power, but also from the rest of your family.
Everyone was panicking except for Sonic and Peke.
Peke: Ok everybody. Calm down, I know this is serious. But we have a plan remember. Sonic, Tails and I will look after Mei at home. While you guys look after her at school got it.
Everybody: Got it.
Peke: Now everybody hands in the middle and say go team.
Everyone placed their hands in the middle.
Everybody: Go team!
Moments later...
Mei was back in her room by herself. Then her mother came in.
Ming: Everything okay?
Mei: Mom, I think I've made a breakthrough.
Mei was in one side of the kitchen table while her parents were on the other side facing her.
Mei: Ready.
Jin showed her a picture of deforestation.
Ming: Deforestation.
Mei tried so resist from transforming into her panda form.
Jin showed her a picture of a sad orangutan.
Ming: Sad orangutan.
Mei tried not to get sad.
Jin shows her a picture of her winning in second place in her spelling bee.
Ming: Your second place spelling bee trophy.
Mei tried so hard not to get angry.
(Inside Mei's head)
Mei was still trying not to get mad and her friends were sitting around her.
Miriam: The important thing is you tried.
Priya: You spelled your little butt out.
Abby: First place in our hearts.
(Back to the real world)
Mei took a deep breath to relieve her anger.
Mei: What a shame.
Jin and Ming were impressed and looked at each other with suspicious looks and signaled him to go to the back. Jin went to the door and picked up a box and went back to the kitchen, and placed the cardboard box on the table.
Jin and Ming backed away, and Mei opened the box slowly. Inside, there were a bunch of cute kittens
Mei gasped, and her eyes turned cute and purple.
Mei: So cute!
Mei tried so hard to resist herself from turning into panda form.
Mei: No. So fuzzy.
The kittens started to swarm around her.
Mei: Must resist.
(Inside Mei's head)
Mei's friends were group hugging her.
Miriam: We love you, girl.
Priya and Abby: We love you, girl.
Miriam: Panda or no panda.
Mei sighs with relief.
(Back to the real world)
Mei took a deep breathe while the kittens were still around her.
Mei: How adorable.
Jin: Mei.
Ming: How is this possible? What happened to your panda?
Mei: It's easy. When I start to get emotional, all I do is imagine the people I love most in the whole world.
Ming: Oh.
Mei: Which is you guys.
Ming: Oh. Oh Mei-Mei.
Ming hugged Mei. Mei hugged her back.
Mei: So, now that that's settled, I just have one teeny-tiny favor to ask.
Nightfalll...
Mei was wearing a green cardigan and had a projector showing 4-Town, 4-Town accessories and sparklers in her hands to convince her parents to let her go to the concert.
Ming: No. Absolutely not.
Mei's smile dropped and said.
Mei: What? But this is once in a lifetime.
Ming: Mei-Mei, it's one thing to stay calm at home or school, but a concert? You'll get whipped up into a frenzy and panda all over the place.
Mei was on her knees pleadging and said.
Mei: I won't, I won't! I promise! You saw me keep it in.
Jin: Ming, maybe we should trust her.
Ming pointed at the projector showing 4-Town and said.
Ming: It's them I don't trust. Look at these glittery delinquents with there gyrations. Why on earth do you want to go so badly?
Mei: Like I said, I just want to broaden my musical horizons.
Ming sigh and said.
Ming: This isn't music. This is filth. And it's not worth jeopardizing your life over. Right, Jin?
Jin: Uh...
Ming: See? Your father agrees. No concert. And that's final.
Mei inhaled sharply to not get angry at her mom. Mei had a hilarious smirk on her face and said.
Mei: Okay, well, thanks for listening. Good night.
Mei grunted with anger and picked up all her stuff from 4-Town and went back to her room.
Ming: What was that? Am I the only one who sees the danger here? There's no way she could keep her panda in. And $200? For what? Who do they think they are? Celine Dion?
Jin got up from the sofa and turned off the projector.
Ming: Hmm. Unbelievable. I saw that look. Where did she get that from? Treating her own mother like that.
The phone was ringing, and Jin went to answer.
Jin: Hold on. Ming it's your mother.
Ming had a shocking look on her face laid down on the sofa to hide and said.
Ming: I'm not here!
Jin went up to her and gave her the phone. Ming slowly reached the phone while shaking in fear.
Ming: Mother. Hello. (On Phone) How's everything in Florida?
She was putting some makeup on while talking to ming
Grandma: Ming. I know about Mei-Mei and those heroes.
Ming: I was just about to call you, but everything's fine. I'm gonna handle the ritual on my own.
Ming was hesitating.
Grandma: The way you "handled" Mei-Mei being on the news? Alongside those heroes?
Ming: No one knows anything. They barely saw her.
Grandma: I'm on my way. With reinforcements.
Ming: No I can handle it. I can-
The phone disconnects and the phone slips off Ming's hand's and whimpered. Peke was outside the window eavesdropping on the entire situation.
Peke: Oh boy. Sonic and Tails are not gonna like this one bit.
Meanwhile...
Sonic and Tails were sitting on top of the roof of the temple.
Sonic: So far, we can have some piece for a while, don't you think Tails?
Tails: Yeah, this actually feels nice.
Peke jumped on top of the roof and joined Sonic and Tails.
Peke: Hey guys. What are y'all doing up here?
Sonic: We're just hanging out and having a good time.
Peke pulled out a bag and gave Sonic and Tails a burrito.
Sonic: Oh, thanks.
Tails: Yeah, thanks Peke.
They all took a bit of their burrito.
Sonic: This is good.
Tails: Real good.
Peke: You know, I never got to do something like this before. You guys are my first friends.
Sonic: First friends?
Peke: Yeah, I've been on my own my entire life.
Tails: You don't have a family?
Peke was saddened and said.
Peke: No, I don't have a family.
Sonic placed his hand on Peke's shoulder and said.
Sonic: I'm sorry to hear that.
Peke: Thanks, Sonic.
Sonic: You know, me and Tails have been together for such a long time that we started treating each other like brothers.
Peke smiled again and said.
Peke: I didn't know you guys were so close, but...That makes me feel happy again.
Sonic: That's good Peke and were glad to have you here. You helped us fight off Eggman and his army.
Tails: And when he appears we will beat him.
Sonic: Peke just remember that we got your back.
Peke: Thanks guys.
Sonic: Hey let's fist bump.
Tails: Yeah.
