Ron sat on his sofa, his legs crossed and with his head supported by his hands. Whoever can see him now could clearly say he is pissed.
It had been two days since his best friends disappeared and he was so disappointed with their not attending of his phone calls.
He searched for them at Neville's house and found out that they had to go outside the country for two days, good... but why the hell had they left him off whatever plan of theirs.
They'd never gone anywhere without him but now they left him alone and gone out of town for the first time, Ron couldn't take it.
Neville and Harry entered his house to see Ron sitting on the couch, Neville pushed Harry forward who glared at him before they slowly made their way to sit on the couch too, Harry beside Ron, Neville on the single seat.
Ron glared at them before looking away as Harry opened his mouth "Mate...".
"Don't say anything, I'm pissed off" Ron warned.
"I need to discuss something important" Harry said with a serious tone.
"Instead of giving lame excuses, better not to say anything" Ron abruptly stood up "You go if you want, why do you drag him along?" He asked gesturing to Neville "Where did you go anyway. Did I say I won't come?".
"Yes... you wouldn't have come, and wouldn't have let us go!" Harry too stood up shouting.
Ron frowned and turned to Neville "Nev... What's he saying?".
Neville inturn looked at Harry and sighed "Harry... tell him" and Ron finally realized that there's something serious going on.
Harry took a deep breath "Ron..." Harry said while pointing at himself and Neville "We are getting married".
Ron suddenly burst out laughed "Guys... You'll raise a lot of eyebrows!" Then he stopped laughing "We have a lot of work to do, let's go" He said and about to walk off before Neville stood up off his seat.
"Ron... We're serious! We've decided to marry other women" Neville said apologetically and cautiously nearing Ron "I'm marrying Hannah, remember our family friends daughter that little girl. Hannah Abbot...Also about Harry. He and...".
He was about to say something when Hardy blurted it out "Me and Ginny are in love Ron" he said and Ron stood looking at him stunned "She was afraid to say this to you face to face, so we talked and..." He said closing in "Ron, I know you are the only family to her and I love her so much. If... if you are okay, maybe Ginny and I can..." He said shaking his head in expectation and fear, touching on Ron's shoulders before the red head shoved his hands away.
"I'll beat you up! If you are playing the fool, stop right now!".
"Ron..." He heard a soft feminine voice behind him and turned to see Ginny standing at the end of the stairs looking close to tears "He's not playing the fool... We are serious".
Neville and Harry looked both sad and guilty, Ron gulped, couldn't able to digest what he is being told "Ginny If I'm important to you, then stop this prank right now" he turned back to his best friends "...come to the office with me right now" he said gritting his teeth, praying that they are really just joking him.
"Sorry mate" Harry started looking down at the floor and at Ginny "Our lives are more important to us... Please understand" he said nearing Ron as if to hug him.
Meanwhile Ron pulled him forward by taking a hold of the front of his shirt "You've shown me you're scum" he said angrily "I couldn't believe you too backstabbed me" he said to Neville, who closed his eyes not able to face Ron.
"Are your lives are more important than our friendship?" He said before whirling to Ginny "Than your own family?".
Ginny broke out her control of her tears, started sobbing and she ran up the stairs. Ron turned to Harry and Neville "If you ever step in here calling yourself friends..." He warned raising his finger than pointed at the front door "Get out!... GET OUT!".
Harry and Neville looked at Ron sadly, their eyes filled with tears. They could feel literally feel their hearts getting tore apart as Ron said them to get out of the house, but they did as he told.
Hermione stood watching as Neville slid his ring onto his bride Hannah's ring finger, the girl was beaming with joy and love for Neville. But she can't say the same for Neville.
Even though he was smiling, Hermione can literally see how fake it was and by the looks of it she can certainly say anyone around her can say it.
Her eyes went over to Harry who stood the first in the row of best men and was clapping, half-heartedly. His sad eyes were focused more on the spot she is standing, looking at Ginny Weasley beside her, who for some strange reason avoids looking at him.
She wondered where Ron is and why he didn't attend the wedding because she didn't believe the reason Ginny gave her 'He has some important work' because even though she is not that close to them Hermione can definitely say nothing is more important to Ron Weasley more than his family and that includes his best friends as well.
The wedding was finally over and Hermione stood outside waiting for her cab, when Ginny walked out. Hermione looked sideways at her before she looked away casually as Ginny looked back at her "Hermione, where do you need to go?".
Hermione smiled "I'm going to Ron's office, Ginny...".
"Shall I give you a ride?" She asked gesturing towards her car parked a few distance away.
"Sure" Hermione nodded and they walked together.
It was raining outside the car, the wiper is switched on and the inside of the car is painfully silent with awkwardness.
"Ginny, why didn't Ron come to the wedding?" She demanded this time.
Ginny sighed "How would he? He's fought with them. He won't come".
"Why is Ron like this?" She asked seeing Ginny's sad face.
"I'm the reason" Ginny replied and finished telling all that happened between them "Ever since Bill died leaving Ron and me alone. Ron always took care of me and only seen me, Harry and Neville as his family. But when we said that Harry and I are in love, he couldn't take it.
Many of his other friends said Harry or Neville would betray him with me to him and he took it as it is, I can't blame Ron. When you come to know your practical siblings backstabbing you, it will crush you. I hadn't talked with Ron ever since that day" she said, a tear drop rolling down her cheeks.
After Ginny dropped her off, Hermione entered Ron's office and searched for him everywhere before she found him sitting on the rile of the balcony, with a bottle, half sitting this side.
She cautiously approached him, fearful for his safety and Ron turned to look at her before looking out at the sky, still sitting on the edge of the rile.
"I went to the wedding. You weren't there" She said softly.
"Why should I go there?" He snapped before pouring himself a glass of the alcohol.
"I don't mean to pry" She said biting her lip "But they are your close friends. You should have come".
"My friends?!... the problem was that friendship itself" he said taking another sip.
"I never thought they would do like this. I believed them so much, I should have listened to the others" he said scoffing.
She stood close "I understand".
Ron looked at her blankly "No you won't understand" he said shaking his head "We've been together since we were kids. I am not used to being alone you know?" He said looking out at the sky.
"So what? You know about your best friends. Harry is a good guy too right? If you want someone to be with Ginny, maybe he is the best choice. You all can talk it over. You can still be friends the same way" Hermione insisted.
Ron looked at her in disbelief "The moment they backstabbed me and told me that their lives were more important, I threw them out of my life. I haven't spoken to my sister since, Who the heck are these guys..." He said and almost slipped off the balcony.
Hermione acted quick and caught him from falling over looking scared herself and they both watched the glass on his hand falling low to the ground from where they sat on the seventh floor. Hermione breathed hard, while Ron rubbed his face as the panic moment passes "Please leave, Hermione. I just want to be alone... Please leave" he said softly before looking away again.
Hermione looked at him worriedly, her heart still fearing for his safety, she walked off checking him occasionally before she got into the elevator.
When she arrived at home, her mum sat in the kitchen table and her sister were making coffee for Viktor, who sat in their living room waiting for her. She smiled friendly at him before excusing herself "Just a minute Viktor".
"Okay" Viktor said smiling back.
She walked into the kitchen and her mum glared at her "Why are you so late? Poor Viktor has been waiting for a while. How long can that boy wait?".
"Poor Ron... He's all alone..." Hermione said concerned.
"We'll discuss that later" Her mum said with urgency "Go talk to Viktor".
Hermione sighed "Did you give him anything to drink?"
"Yeah, yeah..." Amanda said bored "Already done that?".
"Hey" Hermione said as she sat across from Viktor on the living room single seater smiling at him.
"Hey, Hermione. Please don't strain yourself".
"No, I'm fine".
"Mrs. Granger said you have gone to a wedding. I thought I'd wait for you and..." Viktor started explaining his intrest in marrying her and Hermione's mind flashes with the images of Ron drinking more and falling off the balcony "...I called earlier, your mom picked it up. I spoke to her about it...So... Hermione will you marry m..." He couldn't finish the sentence as Hermione was already out of her seat and running out to catch a cab to Ron's office.
Minutes later, she barged into the space walking straight ahead to the balcony looking for him and searching for him leaning over the rile as he was not there at the same place.
She let out a relived sigh when she didn't find his body on the ground below and went searching in, atlast finding him on the floor of his office cabin, sleeping and the alcohol leaked all over the floor, she watched him worried before she managed to pick him up.
Getting a cab and riding to his house she knocked on his house door before Ginny opened it and caught Ron from Hermione's hands but Ron pushed her away before walked inside the house dazed, falling on the couch.
Hermione watched as little Rose walked off to her father and called his name and she almost cried at the scene. "Thank you Hermione" Ginny said in a raspy voice, looking herself worse, eyes puffy and red.
"No, mention Ginny. But if you don't mind, can I have Rose in my house tonight? I'll drop her off at school along with Scorpius" Ginny nodded readied Rose's back and school supplies into a small bag, handing it over to Ginny and watched as they both go.
She turned and sat on the floor, leaning back on the couch where Ron laid before backing her leg towards her chest and crying again silently as she did all day.
