Hey Guys, MegaSalamence64 here, Welcome to a New Story featuring the Cast of Scarlet and Violet! ;)
Yeah, I figured I share more of the Paldea Gang (AKA Juliana, Avern, Nemona, Penny and Koraidon) and what better way to do is another Story?
Yeah, I admit, The Mermaid!Juliana Stories can be seen as Overbloating the Metamorphosis Fics but to be fair, I do enjoy writing Juliana as a Mermaid at least…. (It also helps me enjoy Scarlet and Violet more as well at least…)
So I figured another Story would work at least (I may consider posting some Updated Versions of the Fics found in Metamorphosis Here as well for Convenience for other Readers at least…. (Either as a Bonus Segment of another Chapter or even It's own Chapter if you want…)
These Fics take Place in my Mermaid!Juliana-Verse (AKA Mermaid Legends of Paldea) and mostly to help flesh out some Characters out as well with some stuff to include about Juliana's Journey in Paldea before the Events of Hidden Fins (Story 2 of Metamorphosis) and expand on what happened with some stories covering after Certain Metamorphosis Chapters as well….
Likewise… They'll be also Focusing on what occurred between and before said Metamorphosis Chapters or even characters not form Paldea like Rosa and Nate for Interactions with Juliana and Even Diantha with Geeta (Long Story Short: Rosa, Nate and Diantha are Mermaids like Juliana while Geeta's a Cecaelia (Like what Ursula is) in my Mermaid!Juliana Stories)
It's mostly worldbuilding and the Occasional Headcanon of Paldea in my Mermaid Fics as well….
And Like with my Smash Bros One shot Collection (Stories of the Smash Mansion), Updates will come when under I get the Inspiration for them so just because this Fic is already considered Complete doesn't mean Updates will still happen for it…)
It's Just a way to not make the Story considered Incomplete when it's mostly just an Archive for the Ocassional Plot Bunnies (Or in Pokemon Terms: Plot Scorbunnies) at least.
So basically, This Story will contain Moments form before and After certain Metamorphosis Chapters (AKA as of this Chapter's Writing, 2,4,7,10,11,12 and 13) which are part of my Mermaid!Juliana World as well….
So think of it as another Prequel to my Big Pokemon Fic: Mermaid Legends of Paldea…. Which I'm saving writing for till the DLC comes out….
Likewise, Here's a Little thing I have to say:

Before we Start, I think A Little Recap for those Curious about my Merfolk and Whom's a Mermaid in my Stories:
-Mermaids have Fangs even in Human Form (A Way to showcase them being Merfolk in their Human Form besides the occasional Palafin Click form them)
-They're Similar to the Diamond and Pearl Clans where their Pokemon Companions are like Siblings to them.
-They don't grow legs or speak Human Tongue until they're 6 years old...
-Mermaids live in Tribes, Not Kingdoms with Juliana and her Mom being form the Hoenn Tribe
-Mermaids can be effected by Regional Gimmicks like Tera and Mega Evolutions, Likewise Juliana doesn't use it often due to how even using it in her Human Form affects her since she's basically a Pokemon due to being a Mermaid
To Elaborate: Mega Evolved Mers as simply more of a Super Sayian Type of thing (Shinier Scales and an Aquatic Aura Coating Them) and Increase their Non HP Stats by 20 Stats each... So they're 80/100/100/100/100/100 BST as well. (The Same can be said about Cecaelias even if no Cephalopod Pokemon can Mega Evolve as of now….)
But it's typically a Forbidden move to the Merfolk however so Mermaids who's dorsal Fins that are Pokemon that are Capable of Mega Evolving are advised to avoid Mega Evolution if Possible in fear they lose control of themselves in their Mega Evolved States.
However, it's warned to ALL Mermaids to Avoid Galar due to Galar Particles and them not being able to control themselves when Dynamaxed as well (A Wishing Star form Galar is Forbidden among Mer Tribes as well)
Mermaids using Z-Moves are fine however, But Terastalization while not as destructive does cause Mers to Feel Tired due to their Pokemon DNA reacting to it as well (But while they don't lose control of themselves Compared to Dynamax however but it does drain them)
Being in Human form however does reduce the risk of being affected by any of the Regional Gimmicks however... But only by a little as for example, Juliana feels uncomfortable the Few times she terastallized her Pokemon (She also doesn't feel so well in Area Zero because of the Increased Tera Energy in that place effecting a Mermaid like her)
-Finally, Mermaids can understand Water type Pokemon as if they're speaking Human but only Water Types, Other Types they'll only hear Pokemon Speech…

Finally, Here's some Details about each of the Regional Merfolk (Save for Kanto and Galar which Both Regions lack Merfolk in them):
-Alolan Mers (Acerola) are very Traditionalistic and very Stalwart of the Old Ways of Life (The most reluctant to mate with Humans as well)
-Unovan Mers (Nate and Rosa) are the Explorer Types and are basically like Ariel in a way, Curious about the Surface and Humans
-Hoennian Mers (Juliana and her Mother) are the Closest to the Sea due to Kyogre and are the best Swimmers of the Merfolk and are the Most Pokemon-Like as well.
-Paldean Mers (Rika and Tulip) are quite Driven my Knowledge and dub the most intellectual of them all.
-Johtonian Mers (Jasmine and Lyra) are often Graceful and while often Traditionalistic, Aren't as Fixated on it as Alolan Mers.
-Sinnohian/Hisuian Mers (Cheryl) are often the Historian Types and the Most knowledgeable about the Sea, Are also very adamant about worshipping Arceus as well (Especially as the origin of the Merfolk orginated form Arceus as well)
-Kalos Mers (Diantha) are often Fashionable and the Only Known Merfolk who wore accessories and the Shell Bras of Cartoon/Animated Merfolk regularly.

Symposis: When Curious about why her Friends mean so much to her, Juliana learns form surprising secrets form Penny about what happened to she and her Friends before they formed Team Star and why the Bullying was so hard on them...
And like Avern, Penny and Some of Team Star don't exactly have it easy at home compared to their Time in the Academy either…

Continuity:Between Metamorphosis Chapter 10 (Childhood of a Mermaid) and 4 (Scarlet Scales, Crimson Loves) as well as after the Events of The Way Home/Area Zero as well.

World of Pokemon, Paldea Region, Mesagoza City, Narjanja Academy, Cafeteria,
"Man, This Food is Good!" Said Juliana as she scoff down a Quesadilla while three of her Pokemon Quaval the Quaquaval, Pala the Palafin and Tastu the Tastugiri are also beside her, The three Pokemon having their own Quesadilla* as Tastu was munching in joy while Pala and Quaval smiled back to the shiny Tastugiri enjoying his new meal as well.
Juliana admitted while she's more into her Family/Tribe's Meals as well as Avern's Cooking, The Food in the Narjanja Academy was better then she thought….
It's moreso for Humans at times but for a Mermaid like her, It was pretty good.
Meanwhile beside the Young Mermaid was the Former recluse and Team Star's Big Boss Penny as the Shy Computer Girl was currently eating her Quesadilla while trying not to think of what others are thinking of her right now….
Given her Reputation of being a Recluse and her Nervous Issues… Clavell agreed to not expose the news about Penny being Team Star's Leader for her Wellbeing at least especially with how despite most Students are relief to not worry about Team Star anymore (Especially with other Villainous Teams in other Regions)… There are some whom refuse to accept the Former Delinquents however believing they're let off the Hook so easily for being Bullies (Despite the Fact that Team Star are the Victims however) and how they almost ruined the Academy's Reputation as well….
Juliana decided to sit next to Penny to allow the Galarian Girl some ease to avoid any possible tensions between her and those whom don't want Team Star near them but also to help a Friend as well.
"So Penny… Are you ok?" Juliana questioned back to her Friend as Penny gave a small nod.
"I'm fine Juliana…." Said Penny with a Sigh… "Just happy to be alive after that whole Area Zero Stuff with Avern's Mom… and that Freaky Time Machine of hers…."
"Well I suppose I can agree…." Juliana added on with a Sigh as they, Avern and Nemona still felt goosebumps form almost being killed by the Aggressive Koraidon lurking in Area Zero and the Paradise Protection Protocol of Sada's locking all hopes of defeating it had not been for Koraidon finding his Courage to stand up to his Bully and fighting back.
"But now that I think about it Penny… I am curious about one thing…." She added on much to Penny's Confusion.
"What so?" Penny questioned back with a puzzled look on her Face.
"Well, before I was enrolled in the Academy… I eavesdropped my Uncle talking about Team Star to my Mother…. And how they're not exactly a Good Bunch either…."

The Week after Juliana moved to Paldea but the Day before she was enrolled in the Academy, Cabo Poco, Alvin's House:
"Ah this is the life…." Said Juliana to herself as she was currently in her Mermaid Form (Scarlet Scales and her Palafin-like Dorsal Fin on her Back) as the Young Mermaid was currently bathing in the Bathtub while she let out a Bunch of Palafin Noises of joy
It's only been a week since she moved to Paldea with her Mother but despite how she wasn't happy leaving her Tribe and Father…
Juliana's Currently trying to make the Most out of her Temporary home till the Primal Groudon/Kyogre Fiasco is all sorted out with both legendaries now stopped by the Daughter of Norman and Mega Rayquaza.
Sure Paldea's Drier then Hoenn but Alvin's Current house (Which he got form a Distant Relative of his and Johnny) has a Decently large Bathtub at least for she and her Mother to swim in at least plus a Hidden Cove for the two Mermaids to swim in Natural Waters as well….
It was the life right now for Juliana… And she was quite interested in the Academy in Mezagoza as well….
"Come on Alvin…. I doubt it's not that bad…" Mizu questioned as the Mermaid questioned to her Brother in Law as Juliana heard it via her Palafin style hearing from outside the bathroom.
"I'm sure this Team Star won't be as bad as Team Magma and Team Aqua…."
"Easy for you to say Mizu… You and Juliana are lucky that your Mer-Tribe don't have anything to do with Bullies…" Alvin added on with a Fustrated sigh. "Team Star seems to the type of Crowd a Mermaid like Juliana won't want to be with…."
"But the Incident with them was over a Year and a Half ago… Surely Team Star would have learnt their lesson right?" Mizu questioned back as Alvin sighed some more to his Sister in Law.
"To be honest with you… I'm not even sure about what really happened during that bullying incident… All I got form what Larry at work, All he said was that a Bunch of Kids basically snapped and somehow driving a Bunch of Revevaroom Powered Vehicles in the Academy, which their Targets fled before it happened… and all the Students who fleed mentioned were that Team Star are the ones that started it as well…."
"And form what I heard form one Rumor at the Office with my Friend Larry: One Kid even got sent home to Galar because of it before the Old Staff Resigned as well…And that's all given the Information was wiped out to save face for the Old Staff as well."
"Come on Alvin… I'm sure Mr. Clavell was willing to help keep Juliana's Mermaid Nature a Secert… I'm sure Team Star won't be a Problem as well…." Said Mizu with a Hopeful tone in her voice to her Brother in law.
"Hopefully Mizu… I don't want your Tribe getting ready to kill me and Johnny just because of this…." Alvin sighed some more as Juliana remained slient at this, Quickly resuming her Bath to get her Mind off what she just heard…. No doubt form what little she knows about Mr. Clavell form her Uncle and Mother, He seems to be a Nice man at least…
Hopefully Team Star won't be a Problem for her as well…

"To be honest, I wasn't sure about the Team Star thing until I ran into you Penny… And well, after hearing all those stuff form the Other Star Bosses, Carmen, Youseff and Mr. Harrigton about Team Star's Bullying… I sort of understand how you feel…."
"Really how so?" Questioned Penny with a look of Confusion to her.
"Well, It's a rough guess…." Juliana half lied to her Friend, Not wanting to expose her Mermaid Nature especially with how Finizens and Palafins** can sense other People and Pokemon's Emotions via Ultra Sonicwaves and while it's weaker then a Normal Finizen/Palafin,
She can sense Penny's Hidden Worries whenever they meet when Juliana takes down a Star Boss up till Eri…. Especially when Koraidon licked her for the First time.
"You must have some Reason why Team Star was so important to you beyond them being your Treasure Right?"
Penny remained Slient about this before letting out a Sigh….
"Let's go to my Room now… I feel more Comfortable there at least…." Said the Galarian Leader of Team Star as she finished the Rest of her Quesadillas.

Penny's Room:
A Quick Trip Later and after finishing their Quesadillas, Penny then sat on her Chair while Juliana sit on the Fur filled bed of Penny's dorm next to her Leafeon Tohru and Jolteon Amuro as the two Eeveelutions (Or Veevees as Penny likes to call them) slept on it while Quaval held Pala in her Talons with Tastu currently laying on Juliana's Shoulder like a Chatot or Pikachu would normally do.
"Well, I suppose you already know about the Deal with Youseff and Carmen with Atticus and Eri right?" Penny questioned to Juliana whom nodded in Agreement.
"Well it's a Lot more then that… A Good Chunk of Team Star don't exactly have it easy back home either…."
"Really?" Juliana questioned in shock as while the Team Star Bosses have admitted a Good Chunk of their Grunts are also fellow Bully Victims… They never mentioned how things are at home for them…
"Yup… And it's not just teasing we suffered… We're practically have to deal with our Stuff being Stolen regularly, Blamed for things we didn't do, Constantly called names and Even locked up in the Bathrooms once as well…" Penny added on as Chills of the Bullying entered her mind as both an Apathetic Staff and Vicious Nature of the Bullies didn't make things any better for she and her Friends.
"The Bullying wasn't helping for some of us who already have issues at home as well…." She continued with some sadness in her voice.
"Giacomo has to deal with uptight parents as well as his own Rules being too tough when he was Student Council President, Atticus's Parents don't even approve of his Love for Posion Types and Shakesperean Peoms and Eri was form a Poor Family who got lucky sending her to the Academy as well…. And While Ortega and Mela's Families aren't as bad… They're the Most picked out of the Six of us…. Ortega for being Rich and loving Girly Stuff and Mela for her Personality and an easy Scarpgoat for the bullies as well…."
"And I know this because
To Juliana, It was quite the Shock at least...
Besides what she learnt form the Star Bosses after they're defeated and Clavell (As Clive) questioning them... It was clear that Team Star are moreso the Victims then the Villains but it's clear she never expected at least Eri, Giacomo and Atticus to have some degree of Family Issues...
She can relate to it as well as while her Parents are good people, Her Father was busy with work often and can't vista often, Especially with how She and her Mother are often living with their Mer-Tribe to keep their Existence a Secret as well...
No doubt she feels both a Sense of Relief her own Parents aren't like that as well as a sense of sadness/Empathy towards Giacomo, Eri and Atticus's Families as well as what Mela and Ortega likely went through as well..."
"But what about you Penny? Besides Team Star being your Treasure.. Why are you so Concern about them?" Said Juliana in Concern as Penny remains Slient as Memories of an Older Woman came into her Mind, Slapping and Beating her in the Process, While her Father remains Obvious to it.
"Well, Juliana… It's… It's... It's because Eri and the Other Star Bosses… Are more of Family then my own family…." Penny cried as tears rolled down her Eyes as she recalled the Beatings her Mother Gave her Regularly and the Harmful words she said to her as she did.

"Stupid little Girl! Why didn't you finish you food!"
"Why do you waste time watching stupid Television!"
"Get those hairballs out of the House now!"
"You're nothing but a Worthless Piece of Muk! Why did you get suspended form the Academy you stupid Girl!"
"No Mom Please Stop!" Plead Penny as her Mother continues to beat her Child up, With her Father Obvious to his Daughter's Abuse at his Wife's Hands

"It wasn't just because my Father was the worst... My Mother... She's...She's a MONSTER! She sees me as nothing but her personal punching bag if things go wrong for her!" Penny continued as she then cried even more much to Juliana and her Pokemon's Concern just as Slyveon quickly wrapped her Feelers on her Trainer's Arm calming her down a bit...
"Penny it's ok..." Said Juliana as she approached her Friend whom was not feeling well as her Pokemon looked in worry for Penny as well.
Just as Koraidon emerged form his Pokeball to lick Penny as well to hopefully calm her down...
Which fortunately she did...
"Well thanks Koraidon…." Said Penny with a Small Smile to Koraidon whom simply smiled back to her just as Juliana hugged her as well, No doubt worried about her Friend's Abuse and why Team Star Means so much to her beyond being fellow Bully Victims as well.
"Don't worry Penny… You don't just have Team Star… You got me, Avern and Nemona at least… We're your Family and Treasure at least…." The Mermaid Answered back to her friend, No doubt while she might have it easier then Penny and Avern, The Former is still her Friend no matter what..."
"Thanks…." Said Penny with a Rare Smile on her Face as her New and Old Friends are the Family she truly has….
Juliana helped saved her Friends form Team Star form being Expelled... And in turn she has her, Avern and Nemona as Friends as well...

*Well, Ok, Quesadillas aren't on the Menus in the Academy's Cafeterias but I don't want to have Koraidon Out till the Scene in Penny's Room so there's that (And even if he's not as well known as the Non Mewtwo Box Art Legendaries… I imagine the Paldea Gang agreeing to avoid exposing the Paradox Raidons as much as Possible)
**While it's never mentioned if Palafins can sense other Pokemon Emotions like their Pre Evolutions can… I decided to include it to make it something Palafins can do as well...

Author's Note:
Yeah, the Reason for this Chapter is mostly to explore some Dyamanics with Penny and Team Star… As well as explain why Penny was so concern about her Friends beside the Reasons she mentioned in Game as well)
While Team Star is arguably better handled then Team Yell was in SwSh (This isn't another Bashing of the Latter BTW, Just using Team Yell as a Comparsion for this)...
The Bullying they suffered form can be seen as Petty to some extent by Older/Elitist Fans (Especially those whom are still desiring another Team Plasma/Team Galactic as well where the Villain is an irredeemable Asshole who eats Pokemon Whole like Ghetsis does….), which again, Bullying isn't something that only Kids and Teenagers experienced…. It's happens outside of Schools as well (Heck, the Internet's basically a Source of Bullying Occurrences when you think about it…It's shows that Bullying isn't just a little Kid/School problem either…)
Heck, Even Adults get Cyberbullied at times, Especially with how some Fans can go overboard and Bully Actors as well:
Just ask the Actor of Child Anakin when the Star Wars Fandom are having their Grudge on George Lucas back in the Day… (Think you regretted Cherring him selling the Franchise to Disney when they made things worse?)
Plus, Besides being First in terms of Concept (And Memeable Lines form both the Grunts and the Big Boss himself), Team Skull has at least Lusamine backing them up as both her Personal Attack Dogs (Guzma Especially) and also to throw off any Suspicion form the Authorities of the Aether Foundation's Shadier Activities as well, So like Nemona having a Back Up Team AND how she's holding back for a Fairer Fight, Team Skull got their Excuse at least compared to Team Yell…
So I figured that giving some of the Star Bosses (Atticus, Eri and Penny) Some Rough family Situations on why the Bullying was pretty rough on them as well, Since it's basically a Case of how Home's not safe for them either and why the Bullies were more of a Problem then they thought…)
(Heck, I figured giving Penny a Rough Family Life back in Galar would explain why she's so worried about her Friends/Fellow Star Bosses as well, They're more of her Family then her Actual Family….)
Sure it's not as Angsty as one may hope for but I do hope I did a Decent Job with it…. (It's easy to headcanon Atticus having Parents whom clash over his Interests at least, Same with Eri being form a Poor Family)
Still, Hope I did the Penny Stuff with her Mother well at least…. Hopefully I justify why she's so worried about her Friends in Team Star at least.

Speaking of Which, Now that Nemona's in the Anime (Being the Earliest Non Gary-Rival form the Games to appear and beating the Former Queen's (Bianca) Record of Earliest appearance as well…)
I figured I give a Mini Review of Horizons Episode 10 as well:
Well, I have to admit, After how Galar was not exactly handled Well in Journeys (Especially with how Marnie and Hop Debuted VERY Late there with Bede getting the Axe and not appearing at all….)
It's nice to see Nemona Debut Early AND also revealed to still be Champion Ranked as well! (Helps Liko knows about her as well so there's that….)
It's also amusing to see that Nemona's Exactly like what she is in the Games: A Battle loving Trainer looking for a Good Fight like Ash was (There's a Reason Ash going to Paldea was a must at least… The Duel of two Kindred Spirits), And it helps She's still Champion Ranked with Liko knowing about her as well (Which is Good Since Liko's Native to Paldea and Roy was form Kanto.. So Good for Liko to know about her own Home as well)
It's interesting having her Partner be a Pawmo but given it's Canon that Nemona has an Orginal Champion Team and purposely holds back in battle (By Geeta of all People)….
It's easy to headcanon that she likely still has her Original Team at her Home and maybe we can see what said Team was beside the Paldean Tarous in the Intro by both the DLC AND Horizons as well….
Besides, At least Nemona HAS an Excuse unlike Geeta… But it'll be nice to see what Nemona's Original Champion Team would be since Pawmo's likely her Current Team's Pokemon used to battle newbies as well.
So who knows, Maybe we can see Liko and Roy battle Full Power Nemona as well with even her having a Quaquaval as her Secret Weapon as well (Going to bet that Dot/Nidothing's Quaxly won't evolve (Like Piplup and Chespin) with Liko and Roy's Sprigatito and Fuecoco Fully evolving instead…Especially with the Former to separate her form Ash even more.)
The Brassius Stuff is also amusing at least, Plus Terastaliazation looks quite good at least… Helps it develops Roy as well with his Goals by not being so Fixated on them as well (And Fuecoco learning Stomping Tantrum in a Rather Clever way as well) while also Liko being able to help an Artist out of his Slump since she IS the Kid of One (Yeah, It's for the better Liko isn't Ash's Kid… The less Ship Wars drama, the better…And this is coming form An Amourshipper at least)
I don't have much to comment on Brassius however other then Him appearing Early Means the Paldea Gym Leaders are also having a Higher Appearance Rate then the Galar Gym Leaders in Journeys (And the More we see of Paldea, The Better)
So points for Liko/Roy Development as well at least… Maybe Nemona can help give them so good Training for them and Some New Battle Partners for herself as well (Win-Win for all three of them)
Still, Hopefully this means Avern and Penny would appear early as well… (The Former is a Guarantee for Sure given he's connected to Koraidon/Miraidon and Sada/Turo but hopefully the Latter ALSO appears as well and Make Team Star a Mini arc of sorts (Given how Badly Team Yell and Marnie are handled in Journeys…Yeah, Galar's so bad that even TEAM YELL DIDN'T GET THE TREATMENT THAT HELP TEAM FLARE BACK IN XY and Z….. Seriously, THEY HAVE TO DO TEAM STAR JUSTICE AT LEAST…. We can even see what the Bullies did to Team Star and show it wasn't merely teasing but likely pretty rough stuff for them as well….)
But Regardless, All I need is Horizons to Adapt Avern and Penny (And By Extension Team Star) Well while Making sure Nemona gets enough Focus in the Anime and I'm good with it! (Oh and Maybe try to give Geeta some Proper Focus like Diantha got in XY And Z as well…Even if her being in a Villain in the DLC is more Likely in my Opinion….Evil Geeta is a Must at least.)

But Overall, Horizons keeps getting better and it's certainly shaping up to be on Level of XY and Z if the Creators played their Cards correct….
And If you're a Nemona Fan like Me, Give it a watch, It's nice to see Horizons ACTUALLY USE PALDEA unlike Journeys did with Galar (Pray for Penny, Team Star and Avern focus soon at least (as well as SV's Endgame being saved for 2024 as well)!)
