Harvey slowly tries to use the cell phone his daughter placed it right next to him. He pushes the right button of the iPhone to use Siri.
"Call Mike" he says in a low voice but it doesn't work out so he tries it again "Call uncle Mike" he repeats remembering that it's his daughter phone. After a few rings Mike finally picks up…
Mike just came back a few minutes ago from the appointment he took over for Harvey and stops by his wife's office.
"Hey" he kisses her "how was your day?"
"alright and yours?"
"Yeah, mine too. What d'you say we go out tonight, it's been a long time since the last time?"
"sounds great. But I can't say when I'll be done with-"
"I'm sorry" Mike apologizes when his phone rings.
He raises an eyebrow "It's Amelia" he says surprised
"Answer her. I'll let you know when I'm done"
"Amelia hey, what's up?"
"Mike" a quiet voice comes from the other side and he immediately recognizes it
"Harvey?"
"Help me" he breaths out and Mike puts him on speaker so Rachel can hear it too.
"Harvey what's wrong with you, are you hurt?" he asks panicky.
"Amelia… they have Amelia"
"who?" Mike tries to stay calm
"don't know, masked men" he can barely breathe.
"Harvey where are you?"
"I…" he tries to think of where he is but somehow he can't remember.
"are you at the jogging path you usually use?" his friend asks. He's hoping that Harvey did what he was thinking of 'asking Amelia for a walk' there are only a few ways they use but one of them is more favored by them than the others.
"yes" he confirms quietly
"Okay hold on buddy, I'll be right there"
Rachel call an ambulance and tell them to locate Amelia's phone" he says and rushes off the office.
Five minutes later Mike finds Harvey motionless on the floor. He jumps off his bicycle and rushes to hs friend.
"Harvey?" Mike kneels next to him and shakes him slightly "Hey can you hear me?" He is shocked by his sight. There are a lot of bruises and blood on his face he releases a breath he didn't know he was holding when he hears a quiet moan from him. Suddenly his phone rings "Rachel, where's the ambulance?"
"Sir, I'm Maddy from 9-1-1 did you find your friend?"
"Yes. Where the hell is the ambulance?"
"There was an accident and they had to use another way. They'll be there in 3 – 5 minutes. How is he?" she asks and her voice somehow calms Mike down.
"He's beaten up very badly. I don't think he can breathe properly. There's a weird sound coming out, please tell them to hurry up"
"Is he conscious?"
"Barely, he just keeps saying his daughter's name"
"Talk to him, try to keep him as calm as possible, if he's struggling to breathe than he needs it even more. I'll stay on the line till the ambulance arrives" she tells him friendly while Mike puts the phone on the floor and focuses on Harvey.
"Harvey hey" he carefully strokes his upper arm. He puts off his jacket and covers him up. It breaks his heart to see him like that. So weak and 'half alive' and hearing him whimper in pain is hardly bearable.
"Help is on the way" he tells him softly.
"Amelia" he keeps saying
"Ssshh, we'll find her" he tells him reassuringly "Tell him we already informed the police" Maddy explains
"did you hear that. They are looking for her already." He strokes his head gently. He doesn't dare to move him, he's too scared to hurt him further.
"Did you notice anything?" Mike asks softly
"black SUV" he gasps for air "two men… I can't remember the license plate" he says and his breathing worsenes.
"ssshhh it doesn't matter. Just stay calm" and finally the ambulance arrives and the police with them. They notice right away he's in a bad condition and rush to the hospital with him. Mike is allowed to go with him so he can keep trying to reassure his friend and both friends are grateful for that. At some point Mike wishes Harvey would lose consciousness so he doesn't have to feel the pain. At the hospital the doctors immerdiatly decide that he needs a surgery and they don't lose time to bring him in the OR.
In the meantime Mike calls Donna to inform her.
"Mike" she calls aloud when she arrives at the hospital "what happened?"
"I don't know. He called me and pleaded to help. He sounded so weak so I made my way straight where I thought he was and found him there. He was…" Mike stops talking for a moment "in a very bad condition…"
"Did they tell you anything?" "No… uhm d'you know where Amelia is?" Mike asks hopefully.
"No" she shakes her head "Last I saw her she told me she's going for a walk with Harvey." Donna starts crying "she was so happy that he asked her. What did he tell you?" Mike approaches her and pulls her in a hug
"Not much, just that they have her. Some masked men in a black SUV. The police arrived together with the ambulance they're looking for traces"
"Mike" Donna says scared and hugs him tight.
About an hour later Donna's phone rings.
"Amelia?" she answers her cell phone eagerly.
"We have your daughter and if you dare to call the police it'll be her last day, understood?"
"where is she?" Donna asks madly
"she's safe. For now"
"What the hell do you want?"
The man on the other side laughs "You'll know soon enough. No police"
"They already know" Donna blurts out "You hurt him, my daughter is disappeared of course they know"
"Than back them up, I'm pretty sure you're smart enough to figure something out, Donna" he says and hangs up. The voice on the other side is disguised, so you can't tell who it's from.
"No!" Donna cries. She looks terrified at Mike and Rachel who heard everything.
"They have her" she says desperately. Rachel approaches her and puls her in a hug.
"sshh, it's alright. We'll figure something out. We'll get her back"
"First they almost kill Harvey and then they get her…" she sniffs "why?"
"I don't know" Rachel whispers and holds her tight "I don't know"

Amelia slowly regains consciousness again and finds herself in a dark room. She is lying on a mattress, but fortunately for her - if you can call it that - she is not tied up.
"where the hell am I?" She immediately gets up on a sitting position when she remembers what happened.
"They killed dad" she whispers and tears rolls down her checks right away.
"You killed him!" she cries loudly "You asshole"
Her cheek is hurting and she assumes it's because of the hit. She doesn't really care 'cause all she can think about is Harvey.
"Good morning" a man says and she flinches. She hadn't seen him sitting there on the chair and waiting for her to wake up. Amelia looks at him but doesn't answer.
"Where's your phone?" he asks coldly but she still doesn't answer. So he grabs her by her collar "I asked you something you brat?"
"I didn't have it with me" he slaps her "You're lying" he shouts "where is it?" he yells at her. She then looks at him and smiles.
"I gave it to my dad" she says gleefully "he needed it to call help and I knew you wouldn't do it" He pushes her back so that she just misses the wall behind her and doesn't bang her head against it.
"Right now I'd love to fire the gun directly at your head" he says in a warning voice
"Why don't you do it?" she asks "Oh let me guess, you're not the head of this thing" she smiles trying to hide how scared she really is.
"shut up" he warns
"You're just a loser doing what your boss says"
"I said shut up" he shouts and slaps her again and she finally does. She knows what she wanted to know: he is not the head, he's not allowed to do anything to her. Right now she's more grateful than ever to Harvey. It's him who showed her to never show your fear towards someone but to also know when to stop provoking people.

Mike, Donna and Rachel are sitting on one of the chairs in front of Harvey's operating room waiting for news about his condition and to hear somehting new about Amelia when they see the police.
"Hello" they great each other
"I'm officer Chan and this is officer Diaz"
"Any news?" Mike asks
"Unfortunately not. There is no trace of the missing person so far. We have the scarf that was under Mr. Specter's head we'll examined for fingerprints, in the hope that they have touched it." Officer Diaz explains.
In addition, a bullet was found just a few centimeters from where your friend was lying. We-"
"what? They shot at him?" Donna asks shocked
"We cannot say it for sure, but it is likely. It was probably shot from the car, so the perpetrator couldn't aim properly fortunately." Officer Chan explains.
"We'll examine the bullet and find out what kind of weapon it belongs to. Based on that, we will try to unlock the perpetrator. If he bought it recently, we'll figure that out and then we'll catch him" Officer Diaz says firmly. "We're going to do everything we can to bring your daughter home and hold the perpetrators accountable for what they did." She tells them.
"Have the kidnappers contacted you yet?" officer Chan asks
"Yes" Mike says "they said 'no police' and that they will call us again for more information."
The police officers then say goodbye and leave the building.
"Why did you tell them?"
"We had to. They know they'll call us. We don't have to tell them everything but we have to give them something."
Donna just nods. She's not in the mood to argue right now anyway
Another hour passes and that still haven't heard anything from the doctors. On the one hand they're frustrated but on the other hand it's something good, 'cause it means he's alive. ,
"It's Harvey" Mike whispers "he'll be okay" he smiles "he has to"
Donna smiles "he never lost a fight before"
"Yeah and he won't start now" Mike adds.
"I never thought I'd find someone who'd care about me that much how he does" Mike starts. When we first met I just thought 'goddamn idiot, he thinks he's better than anyone' Mike chuckles "actually he was and he saved my life in so many ways"

Mike is waiting about two hours now to get a table at Del Posto for him and his girlfriend Jenny. She got promoted and he wanted to celebrate with her. He's the next on the line when a man who's older then him pass him and calls the waiter.
"Sir?"
"I need a table for two"
"I'm sorry, we're full. You're seeing the line you have to wait"
"I don't have time" he tells him
"Well you have to" Mike says after him "We've been waiting for two hours now"
Harvey turns to look at the man who dares to talk to hm like that.
"I can't remember I asked you for your opinion guy with a too thin tie" Mike laughs sarcastically
"I don't care. Just because you're wearing a 10.000$ Dollar suit and have a 1000$ hair cut doesn't mean you have more rights then others" Harvey just smiles "First of all it's 15000$ and second we'll see"
"I wanna talk to your boss" he tells the waiter "tell him Harvey Specter wants to talk to him"
A few minutes later the waiter comes back "follow me, Sir"
Harvey than turns to Mike "Well, favors help a lot, remember this."
Present Day
Mike smiles when he thinks of the situation. He never thought that this would be really Harvey's first advice to him and that he would never forget it.
"How is he?" Donna asks eagerly when she sees the doctor walking towards them
"Hello" he greets first "I'm Dr. Brown. Your husband was beaten very badly.
"He has bruised ribs and one is broken. In addition, his lungs are injured, so he will have difficulty breathing properly in the next few days. Therefore, it is really very important that he stays as calm as possible."
"That's gonna be impossible" Mike comments and the doctor looks confused at him
"His daughter is kidnapped. The kidnappers did that to him" he explains
"That's worse but please take care that he at least tries it. It's really important. He was very lucky you found him that fast. We were able to get the internal bleeding under control relatively quickly. And he must not move jerkily under any circumstances" they nod in agreement.
"But he's gonna be alright?" Donna asks afraid
"it'll need its time but if he does what we say yes… he'll be in pain for a few days but he'll be fine." The doctor smiles.
"Can we see him?"
"Yeah but it'll take a little till he wakes up"
"thank you"

Amelia lies terrified on the mattress while she can't think of anything else but that her father is dead. "I'm so sorry, dad" she whispers "I'm so sorry." She cries
Then she hears a voice and flinches. it comes from the ceiling.
"Shut up and listen carefully. I'll come in now and bring you something to eat and a lamp. If you try the slightest thing, it's gonna be over with my kindness. You'll stay in there in the dark and there won't be water or food anymore. Is that understood?"
"I don't want it" she shouts
"Well your decision. But you're gonna be here for a while, I'm telling you you'll regret it"
"So your the boss, aren't you?" she asks "too afraid to use your own voice?"
"That's non of your business"
"I do know you, don't I?"
"so can I come in?"
"yes" she says quietly.
The man enters the room and places a bottle of water and a bagel in front of her. He's wearing a black mask and there's somehting that covers his mouth Amelia can't say what it is but as soon as he speaks she knows: It's somehting to change his voice. He also places a lamp on the corner and then when he reaches the door he turns to face her again.
"Your parents probably didn't raise you very well. Actually, you say thank you when someone does something nice for you"
"something nice?" she says upset "kidnapping me and killing my father is something nice for you?"
"God! you're such a drama queen. You'll get over it and you'll get out of here as soon as they do what we say.
And as far as I know he wasn't your father anyway. So relax, you have another one waiting for you to come home"
Amelia can't help herself anymore. She grabs the water bottle, which is made of hard plastic, and throws it at him and hits him on the back. "Don't ever say that again you son of a bitch" she yells.
"Aaaahh" he groans and approaches her furiously and grabs her by her neck tight. "One more thing like that and your father won't be the only one to be gone" he threatens her and pushes her back so this time she hits the wall with her back and her head. The man grabs the bagel and the bottle and take them with him. "Let's see how you'll survive the next days" he says madly and leaves. Amelia doesn't care she just wishes it would've been a glass water bottle to hurt him even more.

"He's so hurt" Donna says crying "I've never wanted to see him like that" she sniffs observing her husband who's lying on the bed and doesn't move an inch.
"Hey, Mike puts an arm around her shoulders so she rests her head on his chest "You heard the doctor, he'll be fine. We just have to force him to stay calm" Donna chuckles "yeah, good luck trying to force Harvey to do somehting" Mike laughs too "yeah, I guess we have to figure somehting out. He always took care of us. His whole life he's been protecting people he cares about. Now it's on us to take care of him."

"You betrayed me" the old lady says desperately to the trader "I bought 2 pounds on peaches and all the lower ones in the box were rotten."
"sorry lady, I don't know what you mean" the man who's about 60 tells her"
"Please" she pleads "I don't have money to buy new ones, my grandchildren are visiting me and they wish a peach cake"
"not my problem" he says coldly
"what kind of person are you?" sha asks sadly and turns to leave.
Harvey and Mike both are watching the scene from different corners but before Harvey can react Mike does.
"You should sue him" Mike tells the grammy who gave up and turns to leave. She smiles "young man, I don't even have money for 2 pounds peaches, what makes yu think I could pay a lawyer?"
Mike hasitates but says "Because I'm gonna be your lawyer and I'll make it for free"
"That's pretty kind of you but"
"No buts… did or didn't he betray you?"
"yes, he did"
"soo" Mike turns to the man "You have exactly two optioons. Either you don't admit and we'll see each other at court again or you give her two new and fresh pounds of peaches."
"Alright, here" he says upset and hands her the new box with the fruit.
"Do you need anything else?" Mike asks with a smile
"A pound strawberries would be great" she smiles back, gleefully
"and she gets this, too"
"No" the man says "not the strawberries"
"I'm not asking"
"Fine" he says angrily and packs the fruits "I don't wanna see you here ever again" he tells the old lady.
"I'm not planing to"
"Do you need help?" Mike asks
"No honey, thank you so much" she smiles and puts her palm on his cheek "Your parents are sure very proud of you" and she leaves
"Yeah" Mike says with teary eyes "Maybe they would've been"
"For a fake lawyer you're pretty good" a voice says from behind
"You?" Mike says shocked when he sees the man who was so unfriendly the other night at the restaurant.
"Who says I'm a fake lawyer?" Mike asks upset
"Your clothes"
"You're such a self observed idiot" he says and wants to walk away
"watch your mouth… unlike you I could really sue you" Harvey says. He doesn't mean it but he just likes to provoke people and a few minutes ago this guy really impressed him. It reminds him how he and Jessica met and how she sent him to Harvard after helping the old lady.
"Than do it, I have nothing to lose" he says and walks away.
Present Day
"Hey" she whispers stroking his cheek. Harvey needs a few seconds to realize where he is and what happened
"Amelia" he whispers "where's Amelia?"
"Shhh, stay calm okay? We don't know yet but we'll find her"
Harvey tries to get up but quickly realizes that he can barely move.
"Don't" Donna pushes him back slightly "You need to rest and especially you aren't allowed to move. This is really important"
"I need to find my daughter" he says upset and tries to get up again but fails
"goddamn it!" he curses and gives up
"How are you feeling" Donna asks crying. Harvey waits a moment to answer
"I want you to leave"
"what?"
"You heard me, Go!"
"Harvey please. I was scared to death and then the news about Amelia's kidnapping. Please"
"Donna I'm not feeling like talking right no" he says and she notices from his tone that he's in pain "and I sure don't feel like talking to you. So go!" he says upset and his breathing starts to labour.
In this moment Mike arrives while Donna looks at Harvey
"I said go!" he shouts
"What's going on here?" Mike asks worriedly and goes over to Harvey who's struggling to breathe.
"Hey, calm down" Mike says softly and puts the oxygen mask on his face.
"He's already using a CPAP help to breath better which is on his nose but the doctors also places a oxygen mask in case it gets worse and the CPAP doesn't help.
"Donna you should go" he says calmly knowing full well how much it hurts her. "I'll take care of him" he assures her and she leaves.
"Just breathe" Mike puts a hand on his friend's shoulder and waits till it gets better.

"You fucking idiot you blew the deal" a man pushes Mike against the wall and puts a gun on his head
"It wasn't my fault, I couldn't know the police were waiting" he says in agony.
"My brother got arrested because of you you son of a bitch!" he presses the gun to his head and loads it.
"Please. I am sorry" Mike breaths heavily "I'll get out of this. you'll never see me again"
"shut up. you'll be even more sorry than you're right now, you damn bastard"
The man hits him on the face so Mike has to brace himself against the wall but the next blow comes immediately after.
"Let him go" Harvey shouts from behind. The man lets go of Mike and turns to Harvey and immediately starts laughing "look at the hotshot trying to be a hero" he says pointing the gun towards Harvey "That was a mistake" he says and points the gun at him ready to pull the trigger when Mike slams his arm down so the gun drops. Harvey reacts like a lightning speed. He and Mike jump him and call the police.
"Thank you" they say at the same time.
Present day
"what happened?"
"Nothing, I just don't want to have her here" he says
"She was terrified"
"I don't care. She can go to Derek, maybe he does"
"Harvey"
"What? If you're here to defend her or telling me to forgive her then you can leave, too"
"I'm not… How are you feeling?"
"I've been better" he answers homely "Mike? Amelia…" he starts but his voice breaks immediately.
"I know… we already called the police after I found you"
"Did they call?"
"Yes. They said what those guys always say 'wait for more information,' 'no police' nothing new.
"They told you not to call the police and you called them anyway?" Harvey asks madly now
"Harvey, they almost killed you. Amelia's kidnapped, what were we supposed to do?"
"No police goddamn it"
"please just calm down and use the oxygen mask" Mike pleads and he does so
"Listen… the police new before they called and if you and Donna don't want it then we don't have to tell them anything, okay? But they haven't called anymore. We don't know what they exactly want yet, I guess the only thing we can do right now is to wait for the call"
"I should've done something"
"Harvey, stop it! This is not your fault!
They almost beat you to death. Not only you, no one could have done anything. They planned this and took the opportunity." Mike tries to reassure his friend.
"It's impossible. I didn't know myself we're gonna do that, how could've they known where we are? That would mean…"
"it is someone we know" Mike finishes the sentence "it's someone from our firm"
"It's my fault. I should've never asked her to go for a walk. Especially not in public"
"Hey, she's your daughter and you wanted to make up. She was so hoping for you to talk to her again." Mike smiles "I think if you hadn't asked her at some point she would've locked the two of you in a room to force you to listen at her" now Harvey smiles too "I doubt it would have worked"
"Look… they would've done it anyway. If not today then tomorrow but this is not your fault"
"Mike I- really appreciate you trying to make me feel better but even if that's right. This only happened because of me. Someone wants revenge and probably it's a client I pissed off or an ex-convict I've put away."
"you don't know that. It could just as easily be Donna who upset sb...or Derek. I mean seriously, I'm only upset by his existence, what do you think others think who have had more to do with him?" Harvey chuckles
"Yeah maybe" he says and they stay in silence for a while.
"Are you in pain?"
"It's bearable… Mike I'm sorry, I- I think I need to rest now, I'm really tired" he says and Mike nods in agreement "Yeah okay. I'll come back later"
"You don't have to"
"but I want to… Please if you need anything just give me a call"
"Thank you Mike" Harvey says and gives him a weak smile.
As soon as Mike closes the door Harvey can't hold back the tears any longer. He can't get Amelia out of his head and that they got her in front of him and he couldn't do anything against it. He wishes Donna would be there, being together in this time but he just can't get over what she did and especially with whom. How is he supposed to ever trust her again? How can he know that she really loves him and not Derek, the father of her daughter?
She loved him once and now he's back in her life. Derek took his daughter away from him and now his wife. He lost the two most important people in his life. And as if all of that wouldn't be enough Amelia is kidnapped and nobody knows why.
'It's for sure my fault as always' he says to himself 'it's sure a pissed client or anyone else I pissed off… it's my fault" he keeps thinking till he finally falls asleep at some point.
Three day later
Harvey is still in pain but slowly he can move a little more. He's still getting the highest dosis of pain killers he can get but the doctors need to make sure it's not too much so from time to time he's in much pain even though he tries to cover it up. Donna is not allowed to see him, he told the nurses to not let her in. She writes messages to his new phone Mike bought him but he ignores them or just answers with 'fine'
Donna on the other side is terrified her daughter is kidnapped and she doesn't know why. Her husband is in the hospital hurt very badly and she can't be there for him. She hates herself for what she did and right now even more than she did before. Derek is also using every chance to talk to her but she blocks him up. But can she still do it? Amelia is his daughter too and he's worried and alone.
"Donna please. I just found her and now" his voice breaks "I can't be alone tonight"
"I'm sorry Derek, I don't wanna be alone either but it's not you I wanna be with right now. And I sure won't do anything that could lead to Harvey thinking I love you"
"I don't care about Harvey" he says upset "our daughter is kidnapped and you're thinking of him? seriously" he asks madly
"I do." She says upset "because I love him and I care about him. And unlike you he's going through a hell of a lot more than you are. Amelia isn't only your daughter. He's beaten up and he's hurt and I'm not gonna do anything to make it worse. I know you're scared but I'm not the right one to spend time with you" she says and closes the door.
"Donna please I don't know anyone here" he pleads through the closed door.
She opens it again "I'm going at Mike's and Rachel's. You can come if you want" he nods in agreement.
"Donna hey- what the hell is he doing here?" Mike asks angrily
"Mike please… she's my daughter too I'm terrified"
"I don't give a shit who she is to you. Get out of my apartment"
"Mike" Rachel says "right now is not the time"
"what?"
"She's his daughter"
"I don't believe it. You know what? I wish the three of you a nice day" he says and grabs his jacket to leave but Donna's phone rings and he stops
"Donna Paulsen" she picks up
"Donna" a cheerful person from the other side greets her "How are you doing red head?"
"where's my daughter?"
"She's here, she's fine for now and it'll stay like that as long as you do what I say"
"what do you want?"
'Your husband's number"
"You can tell me"
"I don't want to. So do not upset me. It's only your daughter who has to suffer otherwise." So Donna does what she's told and gives him the new number and as soon as she does he hangs up. The four of them rushes to Harvey's. Derek takes Rachel's car 'cause Mike's doesn't want him in his car.
When they arrrive there the call is over. They can tell from Harvey's pale face that it's worse.
"what did he say"
"he want 50 mio. Dollars" Harvey tells them quietly "I don't have it
"what?" Donna gasps
"we have 72 hours or we'll never see her again"
"You goddamn idiot!" Derek shouts and the three friends look at him "This is all your fault!"
"Derek shut the hell up" Donna yells at him
"what? It's what we all think. If he had took more care he'd know the license plate or he'd took care that she ran away when he had the chance to"
"You son of a bitch" Mike approaches him and grabs him by his collar "get the hell out of here before I beat the shit out of you" he says furious and pushes him against the door.
"Don't listen to him" Mike tells his friend "he's an idiot"
"He is… but he's right"
"That's bullshit. First of all you had other things in your mind at this moment than to take care of the license plate and second even if you would've, they're not stupid, they used a fake one for sure"
"He's right Harvey" Donna calls him softly and starts to close their distance.
"Don't" he says coldly
"I want you to leave. All of you"
"Harvey please"
"Donna get the hell out. If you'd care that much than you wouldn't have been with him"
"I wasn't"
"Oh really? Why was he here then?"
"He showed up at our's and bagged me not to leave him alone. I- know that he's terrified too that's why I suggest he could come with me at our friend's"
"and you let him in" he turns to Mike and sounds disappointed
"He didn't" Donna interfers "He was mad and was about to leave when the kidnapper called. He threw him out but"
"I let him in" Rachel admits "I'm sorry"
"Yeah it doesn't surprise me. You always seem to be at the others side even when it's not my fault"
"That's not true Harvey" she says with teary eyes
"I said I want you to leave. I need rest"
At Mike's and Rachels's
"Rachel I'm so terrified" Donna cries hiding her face into her friends chest.
"I know" she strokes her back "so am I but hey" Donna looks up at her "we'll get her back. We'll figure something out"
"We don't have the money Rachel. I mean we're close to it but we don't have that much and we only have 72 hours." she sniffs
"That's not the problem. Mike and I are there too"
"what- what are you saying?"
"I am saying that we of course will give you the money that is missing"
"Rachel it's uhm-"
"She's our goddaughter" Rachel smiles "we'd do everything for her" she assures her friend and hugs her tight.
"Everything will be fine again. You'll see"
"I hurt him again" Donna says after a little pause. "I knew it's a mistake but I also knew how Derek's feeling and he really doesn't have anyone here"
"yeah I know. He'll understand"
"No he won't and even if he thought about forgiving me… now he defiantly let go of it. And he's mad at you too because of me. I'm sorry" she apologizes
"It's okay. I'll visit him tomorrow and try to apologize"

A few minutes later Mike enters Harvey's room. He hasn't left he just gave him a few minutes to calm down and Harvey is really relieved when he sees him.
"Mike?" he says surprised "what are you doing here"
"You thought I would just leave?"
"That's what I told you to do"
"and since when do I do what you tell me?" he smiles
"touché" he smiles back and Mike takes a seat next to the right of his bed.
"what did he say?" Mike asks and Harvey takes a deep breath
The call
"Harvey Specter" the voice from the other end says laughing "how are you doing? I have to admit for a boxer it was pretty easy to beat you up" he laughs
"you son of the bitch what do you want?"
"Oh I already got a few things, I could let all my anger out on you, that was fun" he tells him gleefully "but… I got some much better news, I heard Amelia isn't even your daughter is that right?"
"Don't ever say her name again or I'll swear to got I'll kill you" Harvey says upset.
"I guess as much as you love her you don't really care about blood relation, do you?"
"what do you want?"
"That's easy. You pay 50 mio Dollars and you'll get her back"
"what?!" Harvey asks terrified "I- I don't have that much" he tells him
"that's not my problem"
"Please" he starts "I can give you 43 but I don't have that much"
"please?" the other voice repeats "so you do know those words" he provokes him
"stay calm" Harvey says to himself and he takes a deep breath
"let her go, please. She did nothing wrong"
"you're right she didn't but her father did."
"Who the hell are you?"
"you have 72 hours or you'll never see her again" the man says and hangs up
"NO! I don't hav-" Harvey stops when he realizes he has hang up already. His breathing stats to labour again so he forces himself to breathe calmly.
"Hey calm down" Mike tells him softly when he notices he's struggling again.
"I can't calm down Mike. He has my daughter because of me and I don't have the money" he breaths heavily
"We'll find a solution I promise, just calm down first." But it doesn't really help "they'll kill her" he says and starts crying
"Hey hey no. Listen to me." Mike forces Harvey to face him.
"Look they want 50 million Dollars, you have 43 and we'll give you the rest.
"what? You'd do that?"
"of course we'd do that, she's our goddaughter. I'd do everything to get her back… and Rachel too." He assures him
"But that's almost all you have and you just bought a house"
"We'll earn it again, our firm is the best in the city" he smiles
"Mike…" his voice breaks but he makes the attempt to hug him. "Thank you" he says when Mike pulls him in a hug "we'll get her back buddy, don't worry" Mike tells him softly.
14 years ago
"How can you know all that?" Harvey asks. This guy is impressing him more and more.
"I told you. I like to read and once I read I understand it and once I understand it I never forget it" the lawyer nods
"why didn't you study law?"
"I applied but I did something stupid and destroyed everything" Harvey raises and eyebrow and lifts his head to the right making clear he's waitng for an explantation.
"Trevor convinced me to memorize a maths test and sell it." Mike shakes his head briefly and breaths out "Turns out we sold it to the dean's daughter. I lost my scholarship, I got kicked out of school." He pauses "I got knocked into a different life and I've been wishing for a way back ever since"
There's a long pause between the two strangers.
"You really want a way back?" Harvey asks all of a sudden
"Yes" Mike tells him honestly
"Then you'll get it"
Mike shakes his head "There's no way back"
"You'll go to school and you'll graduate and then you'll go to Harvard. If you don't get a second scholarship I'll pay for it. You go there you cut all of those people from your life and you'll become a lawyer. Than you'll come back here and become my associate."
"I don't have time for that bullshit" Mike says and gets up to leave
"why, you have a job waiting for you? Oh" Harvey slaps his palm against his head "No, it's a drug deal. My mistake"
"I have no choice and right now I don't even know someone anymore"
"I'm offering here you a chance" Harvey says calmly. There's somehting about Mike that makes him think he's worthy.
"You really mean it" Mike says unreliable
"I do"
Mike doesn't know what to say, he's like paralyzed
"why?"
"why what?"
"why are you doing that?"
"because someone did something like that for me. She gave me a chance to proof myself and I want to do it for you"
"I don't think I'll get a second scholarship. I don't even think they'll let me go there"
"They will" Harvey assures him.
So Mike accepts it gratefully and does what Harvey told him. Harvey made sure that he got a chance at school and Harvard. So he graduated, he went to Harvard and became the best student the university had ever seen. He then came to Pearson Specter Litt and became Harvey's associate. And they're having each others back ever since.
Present Day
"We need to talk" Mike tells his wife when he enters the dining room and places a kiss on her cheek
"yeah"
"Uhm I'm just gonna say it. I told Harvey we'd give them the money for Amelia. I know it's almost all we have but…"
"They're family" Rachel says looking at him
"So it's okay for you?"
"Of course" she smiles "actually I told Donna the same"
Later Rachel notices Mike is not really there with his thoughts
"Mike are you okay?"
"Yeah yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking about Amelia. She must be really scared"
"Yeah, I know but we will do whatever it takes to make sure she's fine when she's back"
"yeah sure"
"you wanna tell me what you were really thinking about?"
"How do you?" she smiles at him "I do"
Mike takes a deep breath "I don't know I- it's probably ridicules but I"
"what is it Mike" she asks softly
"I just find it weird that they kidnapped her now"
"what do you mean?"
"I mean, Derek appears in their lives and it comes out he's Amelias biological father. Then he does everything to destroy their relationship and to destroy Harvey's and Amelia's relationship, too. And now she is kidnapped and he is beaten almost to death… and they want 50 million Dollars and that right then when Amelia and Harvey are starting to be father and dazu the again. You haven't seen his anger when Amelia yelled at him and forced him to withdraw the complaint or when she told him to never put her in the position to choose between the two of them"
"Mike what are you saying"
"maybe I'm being unfair and yeah I know the chances are pretty good I'm wrong but he didn't even seem surprised at the hospital. Didn't you notice? It was like he was expecting it and he didn't asked once about how Harvey's condition. I mean it doesn't matter how less you like someone when you hear something like that you at least pretend to act like you're sorry about what happened to them"
"Mike… she's his daughter. You don't really think Derek has something to do with it? I mean they almost killed Harvey. Do you really think he's capable of something like that?"
"Do we really know him Rachel? I mean… don't you find it weird? It'd be too obvious if he wants exactly the sum Donna and Harvey have"
"but… okay… let's think it through. How should he know how much money they have?"
"Okay come on Rachel, that's now that hard to find out. He was so many times in their apartment"
"but why should he do it? Donna and Harvey are apart right now and Harvey and Amelia aren't really on good terms. Why would he kidnapp his own daughter?"
"Amelia and Harvey are talking again and he hates it. I don't know why but he wanted from the beginning to have Amelia only for himself"
"I don't think there's something on it. You don't like him and I guess you're just trying to find someone to blame.
"Yeah maybe"
"Please just be careful what you say in front of him. He could sue you for that. And I don't think you should tell anyone else. Just let focus to find the real kidnappers"
The next day Rachels visits Harvey
"Can I come in?" she asks softly and he nods
"I am sorry" she apologizes "I don't want you think I wouldn't care about you and your feelings"
"I know"
"I just saw the look on his face and… since he has no one here…"
"You acted right" Harvey tells her "I can't stand him but she's his daughter and to be honest I wouldn't want to be alone right now either" he smiles
"What about Donna?" Rachel asks
"Nothing… she wants to be with him"
"she only came over because she didn't want to be alone with him. She didn't even talked once with him since…"
" Since she stuck her tongue down his throat. You can say it"
"Harvey she is really sorry and-"
"I don't care Rachel and I'm not in the mood to talk about her. My daughter is kidnapped that's the only thing I care about"
"okay" she says quietly
"Mike told me about the money"
"You okay with it?"
"Of course I am. I told Donna the exact same thing" she smiles at him. "We're family Harvey"
He lifts his arm attempting to hug her so she gets up and they hug "thank you" he says breaking it.
Two days later
There are just under 24 hours until the money is due and Harvey and Donna still haven't spoken to each other.
"Donna hey" Mike greets her when he opens the door and moves to let here in. We're having breakfast, do you wanna join us?"
"No thank you I'm not hungry but a coffee would be great"
"sure"
"How's Harvey?"
"He's alright, well at least as well as he can be" Mike tells her while hading her the cup of coffee.
"thank you… I wanna see him"
"I don't think it's a good idea, Donna. He doesn't want to see you and I get him"
"You think I don't? I know I screwed up, I know he doesn't trust me, that he's hurting and disappointed but… they kidnapped our daughter and almost beaten him to death. I-" Donna's voice breaks as she can't hold back the tears anymore
"I'm just terrified. He's in a hospital bed, they hurt him and I can't be there for him. I am scared for him, I am scared for Amelia and I know he's too and we're both alone"
"I know that Donna but…" Mike stops talking 'cause he doesn't wanna say what he's thinking. He knows she's hurting too and terrified and he knows she's sorry.
"but it's my own fault" Donna finishes the sentences for him
"I'm sorry" Mike apologize "I know you are sorry and I know you're suffering too. I just can't defend you in front of him anymore. I don't want him to feel like he's on his own"
"you don't have to. Please just ask him if I can visit him. We don't have to talk about us, I just wanna be with him"
Mike takes a deep breath "I'lll try but I can't promise anything"
"thank you, Mike"
"Is he- is he in much pain?"
"I think it's bearable, they're giving him a lot of medication" Mike lies 'cause he tries to calm her soemhow down at least a little bit.
Later at the hospital
"How are you doing" Mike eventually asks
"it's okay… l'm not in much pain anymore"
'Do you need anything?"
"No, thank you"
After a little while Mike decides to bring up Donna's request on the table.
"Uhm… Donna would like to come over"
"No" he answers firmly
"Harvey please! Your daughter is kidnapped, you're in a hospital bed and she's terrified for both of you. She just wants to make sure you're alright"
"you can tell her that I am"
"it's not the same. You don't even have to talk about your relationship, I just think it would be better for both of you to comfort each other"
"She can go to Derek, I'm pretty sure he's good at comforting her… and she's their daughter anyway" he says and Mike doesn't miss the hurt in his voice.
"That's bullshit and you know it. If she's somebody's daughter she's yours. And she made it clear to him" Harvey looks up at him
"what do you mean?"
"She yelled at him for suing you and forced him to withdraw it"
"she did that?" he asks surprised "How?"
"She told him if he doesn't want to lose her he has to withdraw it" Harvey gulps "and when he started to say somehting bad about you trying to make her feel guilty she made pretty clear that he shouldn't force her to choose between the two of you"
"She did that for me" he sniffs but forces back the tears "and I treated her like shit"
"hey no, don't even start. You had every right to do that and she knows it"
"She tried to talk to me"
"Yeah and you did it then and you'll do it when she's back"
"if"
"No she will be back. Tomorrow we're gonna give them the money and in about 24 hours she'll be here with you"
"she saved my life" Harvey smiles "she must've been terrified but she told me not to worry about her 'cause she's fine"
"she loves you"
"Yeah, I know it now"
"So can I tell Donna she can come, please?"
Harvey hesitates for a few seconds but eventually he nods in agreement.
… … …
"Hey"
"Hey"
Donna's eyes fill with tears as soon as she sees Harvey
"how are you feeling?"
"I'm okay"
"Are you in pain?" she asks quietly and he shakes his head "it's bearable… you didn't have to come. I'm alright"
"I just wanted to see you myself"
"you did now" Harvey just can't hide the hurt and anger in his voice.
"Is there anything you need? whatever it is" He shakes his head.
"Okay. Thank you for letting me come" she says and turns to leave.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save her from that" he eventually says with shaky voice but Donna immerdiatly turns to face him and shakes her head. She walks over to him
"that's not your fault" she says firmly "they beaten you almost to death and they tried to shot you. You couldn't have done anything"
"You don't know that, you weren't there"
"I didn't have to I know you. I know that you'd do everything for her and if you think that I'd think differenly then you're pretty wrong" she assures him and he somehow feels relieved.
"I'm terrified" he whispers and they hug
"I know" she strokes his back carefully "so am I" Donna says and hugs him even tighter so he whimpers a little "sorry" she apologizes and looses the grip a little
They pull a little away so their foreheads are touching now. "We'll get her back" he whispers "I promise you"
They stay like that for a few seconds till Donna bants for to kiss him but he pulls back right away "you should go now" he says
"I'm sorry" she apologizes and gets up
"Thank you for allowing me to come"
Money transfer
Mike has the money in a bag. They didn't tell the police they're too afraid something could go wrong and they're not willing to do anything that could risk Amelia's life. He walks over to the trash bin puts the money in it and walks away. He goes over into the car and waits for the call which comes about five minutes later.
"where is she?" he asks calmly
"You'll get her soon enough. I'm not stupid. I need to make sure you're not trying to trick me"
"We're not"
"You'll hear from me" he says and hangs up.
"Goddamit" Mike curses and throws the phone on the floor and drives back to the hospital.
"Where is Amelia?" Harvey asks with shaky voice and Mike shakes his head.
"He said we'll get here when they know the money is clean"
"oh my god!" Donna walks over to Harvey. She sits on his hand and they hold each others hand tightly.
A few minutes later Harvey's phone rings. He picks up and puts it on speaker.
"Where's my daughter?"
A laugh comes from the other side "You're more stupid than I thought you were. Did you really think I would give you her back?" he laughs "I want you to suffer and this way is the best one to get what I want. Say something sweetheart" he says to the girl
I love you, mom" and he fires the gun.
"NO!" Donna and Harvey yells simultaneously.
"He killed her" Harvey says and Donna shuts her eyes shut and breaks down in tears. She then leans forward and rests on her husband's chest who puts an arm around her. He can't say anything to make her feel better 'cause he bursts out into tears himself. His breathing is getting worse but he rejects the oxygen mask Mike is trying to give him. Mike sits next to Harvey on the bed with the oxygen mask in his hand in hopes he'll convince him to use it at some point while Harvey rests his own head on Mike's chest.
The door opens and Derek stops in front of it
"what happened?" he asks with a scared look on his face.

Btw I have no clue if the hospital stuff or the voice-changing-thing make sense but they fit in the story hahah so go easy on me ;)
