Meaning: Magnetism, intrigue

The whole time fighting Red Volcano, Dick felt off balance. He was normally collected in a fight, but today it was as if his heartbeat was trying to set a record.

He couldn't explain it until he got back to the Bioship and realized the reason was sitting right in front of him.

Dick wasn't like Wally. He wasn't the type of guy to die trying to impress a girl he liked - maybe because he didn't really know a girl he liked in that way. He wasn't like Kaldur, who bottled his emotions, either. Or Conner, who…yeah. Or Conner. He was much more easygoing. Talking to girls just came naturally. No different than talking to guys. He never understood why people made such a big deal of it.

But this time something was different. Every time he approached her, his stomach felt heavier and his throat dried up. He could literally feel his throat dry up, as if she were some kind of fiery star that burned the air from his lungs.

It was weird. He wasn't entirely sure he liked it. And yet for the life of him he couldn't look away, couldn't blink, couldn't even think about anything else. Just her. Just her voice, and her smile, and the way she walked, and-

She turned around in her chair, seemingly feeling his gaze on her shoulder, and smiled, and Dick swore he could feel a little raven-haired imp shut his brain off.

"See something you like?" she whispered in a voice his brain had a hard time analyzing. His cheeks lit up and he scratched the back of his neck nervously, opening his mouth for an answer that failed to come. Zatanna stared at him for a second with a quirky smile before giggling and turning back around in her chair, leaving Dick to stare at her with an unmatched intensity he couldn't explain, like she was the one math problem he could never solve.

They landed in the Cave's hangar and he didn't realize he was still staring until he felt a gentle tap on his shoulder.

"I disconnected you from the mind link before anyone else could hear what you were saying about her."

"Th-thanks."

"Don't mention it! Well, maybe do to her. I think that's what the prince does in the movie, right?"
