Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, your nutty buddy is back with another exciting installment of Chaos Unleashed! A lot has happened between updates, including getting a new car, a new job at the post office, and a whole lot of social activities that have drawn my attention away from this story, but I'm still doing the best I can to give you guys the best possible story I can, including scripting out these Duels so that they can stand up under intense scrutiny. Yes, there have been delays, but I'm not done with this story yet! Anyone who says this story is dead is kidding themselves. But I digress, let's get on to the continuation of this climax!

Chapter 47: The Alpha and Omega

South American, Peru, Nazca Lands

Grieger woke up with a start in his room, a harrowing dream fresh in his memory. He stumbled over to the bathroom to splash his face with water, wondering what the hell he had just seen. Dreams were fickle at best, but this wasn't like the nightmares that had been plaguing him after Yusei and the other Signers had set Grieger and the other former Dark Signers free. This was something new, something terrifying, something chaotic. Grieger may not have had any mystic powers anymore since being revived, but he could somehow sense that something was amiss.

"What is with New Domino City and attracting all sorts of power-crazed maniacs?" Grieger asked himself, pulling on a tank top as he stepped outside to look at the stars. The Nazca Lands skies were beautiful at night, far away from any major city to avoid any light pollution clouding up the view of the stars. But the night sky was a poor distraction from Grieger's thoughts. He and his siblings were only partially through building a temple that he hoped would appease the Earthbound Immortals from renewing their assault on humanity in the distant future. It may not be much in the grand scheme of things, but for Grieger it was a step towards atonement. Movement from his home caught the corner of Grieger's eye.

"Big Brother?" his younger sister Annie asked, emerging from the shadows of the doorway. "What are you doing out here?"

Grieger smiled reassuringly at his sister. The MC at the Fortune Cup had nicknamed him "The Tower of Power", a title he'd enjoyed at the time. Now it felt like a bit of a burden, as repairing his village had taken a lot of his time and what remaining funds he had, the little he had left being purposed towards supporting his family and moving to the Nazca Lands. Goodwin had at least had the decency to provide supplies like he'd promised, the politics behind it aside he was a man of his word, actually setting aside materials and foods enough to get the village back on its feet. The Peruvian government remained as corrupt as ever, which had made Goodwin's direct donation of supplies all the more crucial for his village. Here, he had to provide support for his sister in what felt like troubling times to come, albeit a lot faster than he anticipated. "I'll be honest with you little sister, I could not sleep."

"Did you have that bad dark dream again?" Annie asked. Her eyes shone with concern for her brother.

Grieger snorted. His sister may have been a preteen, but she often showed a wisdom beyond her years. "Something like that. Thanks for checking up on me, but you should get back to bed. I'll be back inside shortly."

"If you say so," Annie said quietly, clearly not buying her brother's act. She understood her brother's dark history and the lengths he went to in order to have his revenge, and she understood his desire for absolution, but she also knew that her brother couldn't keep beating himself up for past mistakes. Annie wanted her brother to be able to move on, which was why she and Max agreed to go with Grieger to the Nazca Lands. They would support him as he tried to redeem himself spiritually, which was why they were helping him build this offertory temple.

Grieger turned away, looking westwards as his unease. Something was wrong across the Pacific; he just didn't know what. Whatever it was that was giving him this bad feeling in his gut, Grieger just knew that somehow, someway, Yusei Fudo was at the heart of the matter.

The mists of chaos swirled around the room, a hypnotic storm of color creating a scene that could drive someone mad if they stared at it long enough. It roiled about, a miasma of every shade imaginable circling the Duelists and their monsters, tendrils of the mist flitting from the Duel Ring as if to caress each Duelist before being retracted swiftly, merging with and emerging from the body of mist in a maddening visage of various hues. For brief moments, Yusei thought he could see the outline of windows overlooking the Duel and he wondered if the Master's minions were watching this Duel. Jack and Akiza had won their Duels, his Mark of the Crimson Dragon informing him of that little tidbit of information. The fluctuation of the Crimson Dragon's power as the Duels had moved on told Yusei that the power of the dragon god was being strained, but they hadn't reached the dragon's limits yet. Luna's Duel hadn't given off any spikes of alarm in either direction, which was encouraging. 'It'll be all for naught if we don't win here,' Yusei thought grimly to himself.

Yami Yugi looked at the card he'd drawn and smiled. Card of Sanctity was a double-edged sword, a card that could turn the tide of a Duel around easily with its draw power, but the opponent also had the opportunity to draw a full hand. The Master had a full field, yes, but with the final Magnet Warrior needed now in his hand he had the cards to strike back! It wasn't enough to take down Ra, but with the way Yusei was talking and how his field was set up, Yami trusted Yusei to handle Ra. He would handle the smaller Chaos monsters. "You're going to regret giving us so many cards!"

The Master chuckled. "Oh please, I've let you draw those cards because I want you to try everything you can to defeat me! Let's have some fun before I blast you both into oblivion! Come at me!" He wiggled a finger at the two, beckoning them both to attack.

"We can't be reckless about this," Yusei warned, sharing a red-eyed glance with the Pharaoh. "But we can't hold back either. I've got you covered Yugi!" Stardust Dragon roared in acknowledgment, ready to protect both legendary Duelists when called upon.

"Right," Yami nodded, the glow of the Eye of Wdjat brightening on both his forehead and on the Millennium Puzzle. "First I'm going to sacrifice my Mystical Elf in order to Tribute Summon my Summoned Skull in Attack mode!" Lightning came crashing down from the clouds, striking the feminine spellcaster and causing her to shatter. Within the explosion caused by the thunderbolt the iconic demon appeared with a hellish roar, flaring his wings out as the Summoned Skull readied for battle.

Summoned Skull: Atk 2500, Def 1200, LV 6

The Master grunted, clearly not impressed. "That's pathetic compared to Ra."

"I'm not after Ra, I'm after your other monsters!" Yami declared. "I send Alpha, Beta, and Gamma the Magnet Warriors from my hand to my Graveyard! This allows me to Special Summon my Valkyrion the Magna Warrior to the Field in Attack mode!" All three Magnet Warriors appeared in front of the Pharaoh before disassembling just as quickly and floating into the air in front of him, reshaping and reassembling into the strongest non-Egyptian god monster the Pharaoh had in his main Deck. With a final clunk, the head of Valkyrion settled into place and the combination monster held his massive sword up, ready for battle.

Valkyrion the Magna Warrior: Atk 3500, Def 3850, LV 8

"Oh?" the Master seemed mildly intrigued. "And you said you weren't going after Ra!"

"I'm not," Yami snapped. "Battle! Valkyrion the Magna Warrior! Attack his Chaos Goddess now! Rid the field of his symbol of chaos! Magnet Saber!" Lightning crackled along the colossal broadsword as Valkyrion charged forward.

'So long as that card remains facedown,' Yusei thought, looking at that one card hovering innocently in front of the Master. His leering smile did nothing to soothe the Head Signer's nerves, yet despite his misgivings the Master did nothing as Valkyrion cleaved through Chaos Goddess with one swing of his blade, the Chaos Synchro monster exploding in twin clouds of gold and purple.

The Master LP: 9000

Yami blinked, mildly surprised that his attack had gotten through. He'd expected the Master to either use his facedown card or an effect from his massive Graveyard to stop his attack. Perhaps his Deck wasn't as perfect the Master made it out to be. It wasn't the time to let up. "Now my Summoned Skull, attack his Chaos Sorcerer with your Lightning Strike!" The strongest Fiend-type monster in his Deck screeched a challenge to the heavens, blasting the unfortunate spellcaster in front of the Master with a lightning bolt that seemed powerful enough to light up New Domino for a week. The Master merely smiled as electricity crackled over his body, leftovers from the demon's attack.

The Master LP: 8800

"And with that I'll end my turn," Yami declared, glancing at the last card in his hand. His Sorcerer of Dark Magic was a powerful card, but he currently didn't have a way of bringing it out. For now he would put his faith into his tag partner to take care of the rest of the Master's field. "You're up Yusei."

Yusei nodded, closing his eyes, hiding the red glow within them for the moment. The Crimson Dragon's power was influenced by desire, and he had no doubt that it would listen to his call. His Head Mark brightened, swelling with power. He could feel the Crimson Dragon's energy starting to surge.

Several dozen meters away, Crow looked up from his vigil as the glow in his tail feathers faded. He could feel the power of the Duel his friend was fighting and Yusei was going to need every bit of energy he could spare. Watching over Dani's body at this point was trivial, and yet the transformed Signer knew it was all he could do. 'Come on Yusei!'

Duel Room A Hallway

Jack flinched as he felt the power of his Mark weaken ever so slightly, but unlike the previous times the Majestic Dragon had been called upon it wasn't a complete draining of his Signer power. "Go get him Yusei! Show the Master the power of your own raging soul!"

Duel Room C Hallway

Akiza flinched as she felt her Signer power weaken, which threatened to allow the chaos to affect her again, but her psychic powers were able to pick up the slack. She was exhausted, but she couldn't allow herself to slip into unconsciousness. "Yusei…win this!" The Foot Signer panted as she fought her fatigue, not wanting either of her personalities to take charge while she slept.

'You know it's only a matter of time,' her dark side whispered seductively.

'Shut up,' Akiza thought wearily. She would support Yusei as best she could, but this was her battle to fight.

'Servicing Yusei is the best way out of this scenario,' her submissive side said matter-of-factly. Akiza merely sighed. There wasn't anything she could do until Yusei and Yugi won, all she could do was watch and hope.

Duel Room D

Luna flinched as she felt her Mark pulse as Yusei drew upon the power of the Crimson Dragon. Her shield protecting her brother from the chaos weakened, but it did not break. Leo looked at his twin, concerned for her well-being. "Luna?"

Luna gasped, coming out of a daze. "I'm fine Leo. Yusei just needs our help for a bit."

Leo thought about it for a second, then grinned. "You mean he's going to Summon that awesome Majestic Star Dragon of his?!" Luna merely nodded, which got Leo to throw his fist into the air in celebration. "Alright!"

"What's got you so excited brat?!" Allana snarled, glaring at the twins.

"Yusei's about to kick your leader's butt!" Leo shouted triumphantly.

"You should worry about getting through your own Duel before worrying about others!" the Lady of Twilight snapped.

Luna couldn't help but smile. "Be careful what you wish for!"

The Master's Chambers

Yusei opened his eyes, the completed Mark of the Crimson Dragon glowing within his pupils. It wasn't glowing on his back like previous times, but the golden glow on the top of his Deck told him everything he needed to know. "It's my turn! Draw!" The Mark faded from his eyes, though the crimson illumination remained. "That card doesn't belong to you! Ra is going down!"

"Oh really?" the Master chuckled. "Then show me the power of the Crimson Dragon so I can laugh in its face!"

Yusei glared at him. "With pleasure! I summon the Majestic Dragon to the field in Attack mode!" A serpentine pink dragon floated into the room, glowing brightly with power.

Majestic Dragon: Atk 0, Def 0, LV 1

"Everyone's depending on us Stardust!" Yusei shouted, his dragon roaring in agreement.

Yami pumped his fist. "Go for it Yusei!" If the monster Yusei was about to Synchro Summon was anything like the one Jack brought out in his Duel against Kaiba, then this monster was going to be a game changer.

"I Tune my Level one Majestic Dragon with my Level eight Stardust Dragon and my Level one Stardust Xiaolong!" Yusei announced, the pink dragon beginning to swell in size. Both Stardust monsters flew into Majestic Dragon's body, slowly being absorbed into the Tuner monster.

"Let's see what you got you overgrown lizard!" the Master challenged as Majestic Dragon began to glow even brighter, a pink ring appearing within its body.

"Gathering star lights will illuminate a new miracle!" Yusei chanted as Stardust Dragon and Stardust Xiaolong turned into nine bright stars, each lining up neatly within the ring. "Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon!" Light erupted from the Majestic Dragon, blinding everyone temporarily. "Arrive in light Majestic Star Dragon!" The light faded and revealed the evolved form of Stardust. It looked oddly metallic to Yami, but the devil was in the details! It was a powerful card, strong enough to take down Ra!

Majestic Star Dragon: Atk 3800, Def 3000, LV 10

"And with this dragon's rise to power comes Ra's fall from grace!" Yusei declared.

Yami looked up at the Majestic Star Dragon, thoroughly impressed. "That's incredible! Stardust Dragon has evolved!"

"You do know your dragon can't negate Ra's abilities, right Fudo?" the Master asked, raising an eyebrow knowingly. "Not against this Egyptian god!"

"Ra may be immune to my monster's abilities and The Chaos Creator doesn't have an ability worth stealing," Yusei admitted, "But Ra isn't immune to battle destruction! First things first, I'm going to activate the special ability of my Quickdraw Synchron in my hand! By discarding Quillbolt Hedgehog from my hand to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon Quickdraw Synchron to the field in Attack mode!" A small blue portal opened next to Yusei and through it stepped a diminutive robot cowboy, hand wiggling over his pistol eagerly.

Quickdraw Synchron: Atk 700, Def 1400, LV 5

"Next I activate my Quillbolt Hedgehog's ability from my Graveyard!" the Head Signer continued. "When there's a Tuner on my field I can Special Summon this little guy from my Graveyard!" Another portal popped up on the other side of Yusei, through which stepped a large hedgehog with bolts replacing the spikes on his back. With a wiggle the hedgehog settled in comfortably on the starry ground.

Quillbolt Hedgehog: Atk 800, Def 800, LV 2

"Now my Quickdraw Synchron's ability lets it take the place of any Synchron Tuner needed for certain Synchro Monsters," Yusei explained as a ring appeared in front of his Tuner monster, a dozen different pictures of the various Synchron Tuners on the ring. The ring began to spin quickly for a moment before Quickdraw Synchron drew his pistol and fired, blasting a hole through the picture of one of the Synchrons. "Looks like he's taking the place of Nitro Synchron! I Tune my Level five Quickdraw Synchron with my Level two Quillbolt Hedgehog!"

"Another Synchro Summon," Yami commented. As serious as this Duel was, he couldn't help but be excited watching the Duel Monsters mastery that Yusei was putting on full display. It fired up his Duelist soul and he hoped that Yusei would indulge him in a Duel once this mess was taken care of. Until then, they had a Duel to win! He watched as Quickdraw Synchron leaped into the air, dissolving into five bright stars. Quillbolt Hedgehog leaped after the stars as those stars expanded into five green rings, each of which aligned around the little Machine-type monster.

"Gathering thoughts will now become a new force!" Yusei chanted as his Quillbolt Hedgehog turned into two shining stars within the rings. "Become the path its light shines upon!" The stars erupted into a pillar of light next to the Head Signer. "Synchro Summon! Blaze on, Nitro Warrior!" The light faded as the large green and black monster stepped onto the battlefield, the large jet turbine extending from its back revving in anticipation.

Nitro Warrior: Atk 2800, Def 1800, LV 7

The Master smirked. "When you used your Quillbolt Hedgehog's ability to revive itself, it gets banished when it leaves the field. That means another Chaos Counter for my Field Spell!" A fourteenth wormhole began to circle above the Master, adding to the maddening view of space and chaos.

Chaos Zone Counters: 14

"Your Chaos Counters haven't done anything so far and I doubt they're going to stop this battle now!" Yusei snapped.

'I'm not sure about that,' Yugi spoke up, getting Yami's attention. 'He's obviously gathering them to do something later on, and we don't have anything to get rid of that Field Spell right now.'

'Agreed,' Yami thought back, lamenting the fact he'd draw the Sorcerer of Dark Magic and not his Dust Tornado or Mystical Space Typhoon. 'We must be cautious. Yusei's Stardust Dragon is a great guardian, but it is not infallible.'

Yusei stormed onwards, oblivious to the mental conversation of the two Yugis. "Majestic Star Dragon! Attack the Winged Dragon of Ra! Shooting Blaster Sonic!" With a roar, Yusei's Synchro Monster flew high among the stars, glowing brightly with cosmic power. Majestic Star Dragon came dive bombing down towards the Egyptian god, who answered with a roar of its own as it rose to meet the savior of the stars, flames beginning to stir around Ra's body. The two dragons clashed multiple times over the span of a few seconds; blue, red, and yellow flames flew everywhere!

A part of the Pharaoh hated to see Ra slowly being forced back, he did still hold his Egyptian pride after all, but knew it had to be done. "Go!" Yusei held his arm up, the Mark of the Crimson Dragon flaring brightly as the ghostly image of the Crimson Dragon appeared around Majestic Star Dragon, giving the Synchro Monster enough power to finally overwhelm the Winged Dragon of Ra and destroy the god card.

The Master LP: 8700

The Master took the damage unflinchingly, looking disappointed as the Majestic Star Dragon wheeled about, coming to a rest behind Yusei while the image of the Crimson Dragon faded. Blue and yellow flames scattered about the battlefield before burning themselves out. "Oh well, Ra was fun, but so be it! That was nothing compared to what I have in store for you, but then again, it's so like Egypt to disappoint, right?" He waggled his eyebrows mockingly at the duo.

"That's enough!" Yami shouted, annoyed by the jabs at his ancient heritage. "You don't know the half of Egypt's might! You merely stole what power you could for yourself!"

"Semantics," the Master shrugged.

"Semantics or not, you're going down!" Yusei declared. "Nitro Warrior, attack his Chaos Creator now! Dynamite Knuckle!" Nitro Warrior flew forward, gigantic green fist auras manifesting around his arms, and punched the Chaos Creator right in the gut, creating another explosion that stirred the mists of chaos and caused the galaxes on the floor to swirl even faster. The Master merely grinned as he reveled in the destruction.

The Master LP: 8200

"Oh no, I'm almost out of the bonus Life Points my Chaos Clerics gave me, whatever shall I do?!" the Master cried, holding his hand against his head and feigning weakness.

Yusei wasn't buying it. The cards in his hand could be used for some decent combos next turn, but that required his Normal Summon. Without his Stay Force Trap, Majestic Star Dragon wasn't going to stick around for much longer. "If I were you, I'd be regretting ever starting this mess. I'll end my turn there, and with it the final effect of Majestic Star Dragon activates. Majestic Star Dragon returns to the Extra Deck and I can Special Summon my Stardust Dragon back from the Graveyard." He watched as the Majestic Star Dragon began to glow brightly, power flowing away from the dragon as it turned back into Stardust Dragon, who roared upon his return.

Stardust Dragon: Atk 2500, Def 2000, LV 8

"Very well then gentlemen," the Master began, eyes glowing dangerously. "It's my turn!" He drew his card and his insidious grin grew even larger. "Hehehehehehahahahahahaha!"

"What's so funny?" Yami demanded.

The Master wiped a tear from his eye, grinning like the madman he was. "Ohoho, it's time to stop fooling around and get to the big boy plays now!" He played the card he'd drawn smoothly. "First, I activate my Spell card, Chaos Draw! With seven or more face-up banished monsters, I can draw three new cards! The only downside is that any cards left in my hand at the end of the turn are banished facedown!" He drew the cards in one swift motion, eyeing them maliciously. "This is the beginning of the end for you two! I send my Chaos Zone from the field to the Graveyard in order to activate this new Field Spell: Chaos Zone Dueteros!" The long cylindrical field that had dominated the room began to warp once more, becoming an ever-changing area instead of the stable cylinder it had been before. The colors seemed to become even more intense with the power of the Field Spell.

"What is this?" Yusei gasped, glancing around at the new surroundings. The mists of chaos and the galaxies on the floor seemed even more excited than before, creating a swirling visage of madness. A glance behind the Master was cause for concern. "Why are the Chaos Counters still there? Chaos Zone isn't on the field anymore!"

The Master chuckled. "This world has many peculiar energies that have existed throughout its short history; the Crimson Dragon, the Spirit Worlds of Duel Monsters, the Orichalcos, Barians, to say nothing of the gods governing this world, they all made for some fascinating study. Yugi here knows what inspired this Field Spell. Chaos Zone Dueteros's effect activates when it's placed over Chaos Zone! First it gains all the Chaos Counters that were on the original Chaos Zone"

"An upgraded form of Chaos Zone?" Yami mused, before he paled. "You took inspiration from the Orichalcos! You can't mean-"

"Oh yes I can!" the Master smiled. "And while I didn't draw the final Field Spell, this will be more than enough to deal with the likes of you! I'll activate the second effect of Chaos Zone Deuteros! By removing a certain number of Chaos Counters from this card, I can add any Light or Dark Attribute Monster from my Deck to my hand! I remove eight Chaos Counters and add the Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End from my Deck to my hand!" The ghostly image of the dragon appeared behind him, sending a jolt of panic through Yugi's spine as eight of the wormholes behind the Master faded into nothingness.

Chaos Counters: 6

"That's the monster from my dream!" Yugi told the Pharaoh. "I don't like the look of this!"

'Me neither partner,' Yami thought, mentally preparing himself. That dragon supposedly had the power to cause great devastation, but with Yusei's Stardust Dragon protecting them from destruction effects, they weren't completely defenseless.

"As you might've guessed by now, this monster needs to banish one Dark monster and one Light monster from my Graveyard in order to Chaos Summon it," the Master began, holding the card up. "And for this move, I banish the Dark Attribute Chaos Sorcerer and the Light Attribute Chaos Goddess in my Graveyard from play!" The two aforementioned monsters appeared as specters behind him, the Goddess looking rather annoyed before turning into yellow energy while the grinning Sorcerer transformed into purple energy, both powers swirling together to create a massive portal of light and darkness.

"Here it comes," Yusei growled.

"When Light and Darkness wreak havoc on our world, this remnant of Creation comes forth to return things to their natural place," the Master chanted as a massive green clawed arm began to stretch out from the portal. "Come forth and swallow this world in Armageddon and rain blazing Hellfire on our foes! Chaos Summon! Chaos Emperor Dragon – Envoy of the End!" With a roar, a massive green dragon with golden bone structures riddling its body flew out of the portal, alighting on the galaxy floor behind the Master as its orange mane billowed in the nonexistent breeze. With a screech to the heavens, the Master's newest monster sent a shockwave across the room that buffeted both Yami and Yusei.

Chaos Emperor Dragon – Envoy of the End: Atk 3000, Def 2500, LV 8

"With two more monsters banished, Chaos Zone Deuteros gains two more Chaos Counters!" the Master explained, two more wormholes appearing behind him.

Chaos Counters: 8

"They aren't going to be there for long though," the Master informed them, "As I remove all eight of those Chaos Counters to add the other Envoy from my Deck to my hand!" All the remaining wormholes faded, their power being absorbed into his Deck before the Duel Disk shot a card out from his Deck. The Master held up a hand as the card flew around the room before being caught by the Master.

Chaos Counters: 0

"Now I'll use the special ability of my Chaos Beast in the Graveyard," the Master continued. "It counts as both the Light and the Dark Attribute monster needed for my Chaos Summon!" The spectral image of his Chaos Beast appeared briefly before turning into another black and white portal. The Master began to chant again, the echo of some ancient warrior chant rumbling from the mists surrounding them. "Walker of both light and shadow, purity and corruption, go forth great warrior! Spread thine power and leave your enemies bloodied and broken! Chaos Summon! Come forth Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning!" Through the portal stepped a warrior looking almost identical to Yugi's Black Luster Soldier, though his eyes glowed with the same power of chaos that shone through the Master's eyes.

Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning: Atk 3000, Def 2500, LV 8

Yami stared at the Chaos Warrior now staring down his monsters. "It's…a copy of my Black Luster Soldier?"

Yugi spoke up from the Puzzle. "That's another monster from my vision! Be careful!"

The Master laughed. "Not a copy, oh no young Pharaoh, one could call this an upgrade to the original! Of course, since I banished another monster, Chaos Zone Dueteros gains a counter!" A lone wormhole fluctuating at various frequencies appeared behind him, signifying the counter.

Chaos Counters: 1

"Prepare yourselves," the Master warned. "For it's time for my Envoys to attack!"

Yusei blinked. "He's just going straight into battle? With all their fanfare, I was expecting some sort of ability."

"Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning!" the Master shouted, "Bring your Chaos Blade down on these fools and destroy that Summoned Skull! Galaxy Crasher Slash!" The Envoy of the Beginning raised his curved broadsword high into the air, the blade swirling with galaxies along the edges as Black Luster Soldier sprinted forward.

"I won't let you do that!" the Pharaoh shouted. "You just triggered my Trap! Go Spellbinding Circle! Now your Black Luster Soldier loses seven hundred Attack points and can no longer attack!" The hexagram curse leaped out from his Trap, flying towards the charging Envoy of the Beginning.

The Master leered at Yami, his smile hideously wide. "I don't think so Pharaoh! Counter Trap go! Chaos Punishment!" The Trap that had been laying on the field for the past few turns finally flipped face up, the artwork showing the Chaos Emperor Dragon blowing away both an Elemental Hero Flame Wingman and a Destiny Hero Dasher. "When I control a monster summoned via a Chaos Summon, I can negate the activation of a Spell or Trap card that targets said Monster! Your Spellbinding Circle is useless! Begone!" He held up his hand as Black Luster Soldier swung his blade, slicing the hexagram into pieces. "Now we all take one thousand points of damage!" The Master roared with laughter as Yami's Trap exploded, shards splashing off all three Duelists.

Yami LP: 6100

Yusei LP: 7000

The Master LP: 7200

"To think he's willing to take his own Life to damage ours," Yusei grunted as the blast ended.

"Now finish what you started!" the Master roared. "Destroy the Summoned Skull!" Black Luster Soldier shouted a war cry, bringing his sword down and slicing Yami's demon in half both vertically and horizontally. With one last swipe of his sword, the Envoy of the Beginning obliterated Summoned Skull in a powerful explosion. Yami held his arms up to block the incoming damage, growling as the explosion splashed over him.

Yami LP: 5600

"Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning's effect now activates!" the Master shouted. "Since he destroyed a monster in battle, he can attack once more! Destroy Yusei's Nitro Warrior! Galaxy Crasher Slash!" His Warrior of Chaos shouted as he turned his blade towards Nitro Warrior, charging forward and skewering the Synchro Monster with one swift thrust. The Envoy of the Beginning spun and decapitated Nitro Warrior before the monster exploded, damage splashing over Yusei and getting a gasp of pain from the Head Signer.

Yusei LP: 6800

"Chaos Emperor Dragon, it's your turn to rid the field of that pest Stardust Dragon!" The Master yelled. "Entropy Blast, The End of Galaxia!" The Envoy of the End bellowed a challenge to the heavens, inhaling deeply before sending a blast of purple and golden energy at Yusei's ace monster.

"Stardust isn't going down that easily!" Yusei interrupted. "My Trap now activates! Power Frame! By equipping this card to Stardust, I can negate the battle and then increase Stardust Dragon's Attack to equal your Monster's Attack Points!" The Trap intercepted the blast from Chaos Emperor Dragon, energy being absorbed into Stardust Dragon. The cosmic Signer dragon roared as it took in the power from the Chaos Emperor Dragons' attack.

Stardust Attack: 3000

The Master narrowed his eyes, a flash of irritation passing over his features. "Very well then Yusei, keep your dragon on the field. I'll be rid of it soon enough. I shan't use Chaos Emperor Dragon's effect to blow up the field, because your Stardust will negate it and then come right back. Therefore I shall place two cards facedown and end my turn. Boys, let's see if you can entertain me." The two cards appeared in front of him, hovering innocently below the two Envoys who floated above the field. His maniacal grin seemed to taunt both Duelists. The pressure of the Duel seemed to increase, a weight bearing down on their spirits as they fought against the burden.

Yami glanced at his hand, unable to hide the tremble. This Duel was terrifying, but he was even more afraid of what would happen if he failed. Yugi had painted a bleak picture in his vision, and there was the monster that was supposedly even more powerful than these two. Still, he had to fight! "It's my turn!" He placed two fingers on the top of his Deck, ready to draw, and felt the familiar surge of electricity run down his arm. A smile crossed over the Pharaoh's face. His Deck had answered his silent prayer. "I draw!" He looked at the god card he'd drawn, then met the Master's gaze.

"That's the spirit!" the Master said, as if he knew exactly the card the Pharaoh pulled. "Let this be a battle worthy of the gods!"

"Be careful what you wish for," Yami warned. "I activate the special ability of my Valkyrion the Magna Warrior! By sending him to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon the three Magnet Warriors used to bring out Valkyrion in the first place! Revive my three Magnet Warriors!" Valkyrion glowed brilliantly before shattering into each of its components, each piece forming back into Alpha, Beta, and Gamma the Magnet Warriors respectively.

Alpha the Magnet Warrior: Atk 1400, Def 1700, LV 4

Beta the Magnet Warrior: Atk 1700, Def 1600, LV 4

Gamma the Magnet Warrior: Atk 1500, Def 1800, LV 4

Yusei was pumped. "Let's go Yugi!" He'd seen this play before and was excited to be Dueling on the side of the Egyptian god card this time.

"I sacrifice all three of my Magnet Warriors!" the Pharaoh shouted, holding his card high above his head. Alpha, Beta, and Gamma each turned into lights of their respective primary color, floating into the air in front of the Pharaoh for a moment before zipping into the floor. The galaxies on the floor trembled as the pressure in the room seemed to ratchet up another notch.

"Your Egyptian god should make this a little interesting," the Master mused, appearing unconcerned.

"Come forth from thine underground, for mountains quake at thy sound!" Yami chanted as the floor split open, creating a portal of immense power. Blue lightning crackled around the edges of the portal. "Fear awakens at the view of your glory, show your anger and end this story!" His chant done, the Pharaoh threw the card onto his Duel Disk as his blue Egyptian god began to rise out of the portal. "Come forth Obelisk the Tormentor!" Obelisk growled as he emerged from the portal, rising to his full height behind the Pharaoh. Yusei could feel the floor rumble as the Tormentor took a step forward, the power of Egypt coursing through the battlefield.

"Incredible," Yusei breathed, looking up at the Egyptian god that towered over the two of them. Obelisk may not have been as huge as Ra was, but he was still quite the imposing presence.

Obelisk the Tormentor: Atk 4000, Def 4000, LV 10

"Now my Egyptian god! Use your Fists of Fate to rid the field of his Envoy of the Beginning!" the Pharaoh yelled, blue lightning beginning to crackle around Obelisk's hands. "God Hand Crusher!" Obelisk the Tormentor roared, crashing his fists together with a burst of energy, taking a step forward with fists glowing white and bringing both arms crashing down on to Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, shaking the building and destroying the Master's monster. The Master laughed as Obelisk's power washed over him, unflinching in the face of the Egyptian god.

The Master LP: 6200

Yami glanced at the last card in his hand. With no further plays, he only had one move left. "With that, I'll end my turn." He looked at Yusei and nodded. "You're up."

The Head Signer regarded Obelisk the Tormentor a moment longer before he began his turn. "My turn! I draw!" He looked at the card and smiled. With five cards in his hand, it was time to do some damage. He inserted the card he'd drawn into his Duel Disk. "First I'm starting by activating The Warrior Returning Alive in order to bring back my Junk Synchron from the Graveyard!" His Duel Disk pushed out the Tuner monster and Yusei retrieved it, playing it on his Duel Disk. "And I'll Summon Junk Synchron right away!" The iconic little orange Tuner that was one of Yusei's signature cards appeared, looking rather diminutive compared to the rest of the Duel Monsters lineup.

Junk Synchron: Atk 1300, Def 500, LV 3

"Now Junk Synchron's ability activates!" Yusei announced. "I can Special Summon a Level two or lower Monster from my Graveyard, so come on back Doppelwarrior!" A soldier ran through the portal Junk Synchro created, a shadow double hot on his heels.

Doppelwarrior: Atk 800, Def 800, LV 2

"Now I'm going to Tune Level two Doppelwarrior with Level three Junk Synchron!" Yusei continued. Junk Synchron revved up his motor and turned into three bright stars, Doppelwarrior leaping into the air behind him as those stars expanded into three green rings. "Clustering hopes will bring about a new road to power! Become the path that lights the way!" Doppelwarrior flew into the rings and turned into two bright stars, aligning within the rings before erupting into a pillar of light. "Synchro Summon! Zoom on in Junk Speeder!" A white armored robot with blue highlights appeared, twin speed boosters extended from its back.

Junk Speeder: Atk 1800, Def 1000, LV 5

That got a small reaction out of the Master. His eyes widened for a second before narrowing. "That damn dragon needs to stop giving you Signers new cards, it's really starting to piss me off!" His eyes pulsed for a moment with his anger before he composed himself. "Very well then Yusei, let's see what you do with this thing."

Yusei blinked, confused by the Master's phrasing. He couldn't remember when Junk Speeder had arrived in his Extra Deck, and he certainly didn't remember the Crimson Dragon placing it there. Ever since this madness with the Chaos Movement began, he hadn't had the time to take a serious look at his Deck. Implications aside, he had a Duel to win. "Junk Speeder's effect activates since it was Summoned! I can Special Summon as many Tuner monsters with different Levels from my Deck as possible! I'll chain Doppelwarrior's effect to this since he was sent to the Grave for a Synchro Summon, letting me Special Summon two Doppel Tokens to the Field in Defense mode!" Two little fiendish variants of the Doppelwarrior appeared, flanking Junk Speeder.

Doppel Token x2: Atk 400, Def 400, LV 1

Yusei let his Duel Disk push out the perfect Tuner for the situation. "Now Junk Speeder's effect resolves and Special Summons Nitro Synchron from my Deck!" A little red and white robot appeared, looking much like a tire pressure gage.

Nitro Synchron: Atk 300, Def 100, LV 1

"I'll Tune both of my Level one Doppel Tokens with my Level two Nitro Synchron!" the Head Signer announced. Nitro Synchron's meter rose to its maximum level before it turned into two bright stars. The two Tokens followed the stars as they expanded into rings, flying into the rings and dissolving into two more stars. "Gathering forces create the gauntlet to strike back! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon!" The stars aligned within the rings and erupted into a pillar of light in front of Yusei. "Come forth Armory Arm!" A black and gold gauntlet with long pink claws appeared as the light faded, floating in the air next to Junk Speeder.

Armory Arm: Atk 1800, Def 1200, LV 4

"Armory Arm's ability activates," Yusei continued.

"That's just awful alliteration," the Master interrupted with a chortle.

Yusei narrowed his eyes, not in the mood for jokes. "As I was saying, I can equip this monster to another on the field and it'll gain another thousand Attack points! Junk Speeder, time for an upgrade!" His Synchro monster nodded as it stuck its arm out, Armory Arm engulfing its arm in the process and attaching to Junk Speeder. A golden aura appeared around Junk Speeder to signify the power-up.

Junk Speeder Atk: 2800

"Time to finish you off!" The Head Signer shouted. "Battle!"

The Master chuckled. "Finish me off? Boy, you really are naïve if you think you can do that."

"Junk Speeder's effect activates!" Yusei continued. "When it declares an attack on the turn it was Synchro Summoned, I can make its Attack become double to its original Attack!" The golden aura around Junk Speeder turned bright blue to match the highlights along its armor.

Junk Speeder Atk: 3600

"Now Junk Speeder, attack his Chaos Emperor Dragon now! Junk Arms Slash!" Yusei yelled, throwing his fist into the air. His newest Synchro monster flew forward, the Armory Arm glowing golden as Junk Speeder used it to cleave the head off the Chaos Emperor Dragon. It landed at the Master's feet and dissolved into shadows.

The Master LP: 5600

Yusei met the Master's fierce gaze with glowing red eyes of his own. "Since Junk Speeder destroyed your monster, Armory Arm's ability now deals damage to you equal to the attack points of your Chaos Emperor Dragon! With three thousand from this and Stardust Dragon's three thousand attack points thanks to Power Frame, you're through!"

The Master held the back of his hand against his forehead as a golden ball of energy built up in the Armory Armed arm on Junk Speeder. "Oh no! You have enough damage to go for game! I'm wide open for an attack! Whatever shall I do?!" He stopped feigning weakness and laughed. "Oh I know, I activate this Trap card! Chaos Absorber!" The Trap card flipped upright, the image of a Chaos Sorcerer using magic to absorb a blast from a Harpie's Pet Dragon. "Since you activated an effect that deals damage, Chaos Absorber turns that damage into Life Points! So thanks for Synchro Summoning that Armory Arm Yusei!" He held up his hand as Junk Speeder flung the energy at the Master, absorbing it into his body as his eyes glowed brightly with the powers of chaos.

The Master LP: 8600

Yusei scowled. Yes, it was one Trap out of the way, but he'd been so close to ending this madness! "Let's see you stop this then! Stardust Dragon! Attack his Life Points directly with Cosmic Flare!" His Dragon roared in acknowledgement, silvery energy gathering in his mouth. Stardust Dragon screeched a challenge as he fired the blast at the man of chaos opposing him.

The Master help up his Duel Disk, using the edge to cut the blast in two, preventing it from hitting him directly. The attack exploded upon contact, but when the smoke cleared the Master appeared unfazed, a manic grin on his face.

The Master LP: 5600

"Delicious," the Master cackled as he licked his lips. "What else you got for me Yusei?" There was a pulse from his rhetorical question, one that sent a chill down both Yami and Yusei's spines.

"Just this facedown," Yusei snapped as he played the card in his Duel Disk. Cosmic Blast would put a dent into those remaining Life Points if Stardust left the field. His Hardship Trap would mitigate any serious effect damage from the Master, Ra was down, his Envoys were down, he only had his Field Spell and one card facedown. And yet he had a bad feeling in his gut. The insidious grin the Master was giving them, the pulse from his question, despite the field advantage they held told him that he had another trump card up his sleeve. He didn't have a choice, as he shared a glance with Yugi. "I end my turn."

"Then it's my turn!" the Master crowed, dipping his hand into the mists of chaos. When he pulled it out, there was a purple and gold glow swirling around his hand. "Chaos Draw!" The Master drew his card and a shockwave blasted across the room, scattering the mists and revealing the swirling galaxies on the floor briefly. Yami and Yusei felt the shockwave as it passed by, feeling as though they had just been hit with a sudden gust of wind.

Yugi's spectral form appeared next to Yami for a moment as the swirling mists of chaos returned rapidly. 'This is bad Pharaoh, he's going for his trump card.'

"I know," Yami murmured, glancing at his facedown cards. Reduction Barrier would reduce battle damage if he brought out a powerhouse and nuked the field, but Stardust Dragon should prevent widespread destruction. He didn't have any other Traps on the field, but the two facedown cards on Yusei's field were probably game changers of their own. "I have a bad feeling about this."

Yusei could see that Yugi was having similar misgivings. Whatever it was the Master drew, it was dangerous.

The Master held up the card he'd drawn, the card itself glowing a dangerous purple color. His voice was low, but there was an underlying excitement to his tone. "The requirements for this Chaos Summon need me to banish one Light Attribute Warrior-Type monster and one Dark Attribute Fiend-Type monster from my Graveyard." His Graveyard ejected two cards which floated in front of the Master, ghostly silhouettes appearing behind him. "I banish the Light Attribute Warrior-Type Chaos Paladin and the Dark Attribute Fiend-Type Chaos Familiar from my Graveyard!"

"Another Chaos Summon," Yusei grumbled as the two aforementioned monsters turned into orbs of golden and purple energy. "I'm getting really tired of those." The twin orbs merged together, creating a massive portal of light and darkness, purple and golden lightning crackling all over the battlefield.

"Blessed by the light and baptized by the dark," the Master chanted, his voice rising in volume as his excitement grew. "The Alpha and the Omega, it's time to tear asunder the world and build it anew! Come forth from the twilight dawn and cause the universe itself to tremble in fear at your coming!" A demonic roar echoed from the portal, the likes of which Yusei and Yami had never heard before. A cloud of darkness began to billow from the portal, making it hard to see the Master. "CHAOS SUMMON! Chaos End Ruler – Envoy of the Beginning and the End!" A dark figure emerged from the portal, obscured in the black clouds.

Yami felt Yugi's fear spike in the Puzzle. 'That's it! That's the creature from my vision! That card defeated Yusei and the rest of the Signers in the dream! Be careful Pharaoh, there's no telling what it's going to do!'

The Pharaoh swallowed the sudden ball of tension that had formed in his throat. The dread he felt from Yugi was only comparable to the fear Yugi had felt when facing the brainwashed Joey in Battle City, but that distress was for his best friend then. This terror was for him and for Yusei, anxiety at what they were about to face. 'I pray we have the strength to take this thing down. The Envoys were powerful, and this one seems to be the leader of those two.'

Yusei was dealing with dryness at the back of his throat as well. The dark vapors began to dissipate, allowing the duo a better look at the Master's ace monster. "What is that thing?!" There was a massive three-headed dragon, black scales glistening with the lights of chaos as all three heads roared, a terrifying screech to the heavens that seemed to send a pulse throughout the planet. On the dragon's back atop the central head was a man in black armor with red highlights, looking very similar to the Black Luster Soldier as he wielded both a massive sword and a naginata spear, the blades shaped like Chaos Emperor Dragon's wings. The eyes of both the dragon and the warrior on the back of the dragon glowed with the powers of chaos that shone in the Master's eyes and a golden aura seemed to emanate off the monster.

Chaos End Ruler - Envoy of the Beginning and the End: Atk 3500, Def 2000, LV 10

Yusei took in this new monster before he decided to take the risk. "I activate my Trap, Hardship, and equip it to my Junk Speeder!" The pinkish purple color of the Trap card was absorbed into Yusei's smaller Synchro monster, a gentle glow signifying the now-equipped Trap.

The Master snarled, annoyed at the reveal. He then straightened up and smiled. "You know Yusei, I can't even be mad you had that Trap ready. In fact, I'm happy you did, because now I can torment the both of you longer! I activate the special ability of my Chaos End Ruler!" The Master held both arms up, his left arm glowing purple and the right shining gold, energy streaming into both the Chaos End Ruler and the dragon that served as his mount. "I pay one thousand Life Points!"

The Master LP: 4600

"Now the Chaos End Ruler banishes every card on your side of the field, in your Graveyards, and in your hands!" the Master shouted. "Then you take damage equal to five hundred times the number of cards banished!" His eyes gleamed as he beheld the dangerous glow that appeared on the Chaos End Ruler's sword, as well as in the mouths of his three-headed mount. "And considering the amount of cards you've both played so far, you'll both be taking more than enough damage to wipe out your Life Points!" He threw his fist in the air. "Now go my Ruler of the Beginning and the End! Wipe out their entire field!"

Yusei reacted quickly as power swelled within the Master's ace monster. "I won't let you take us out that easily! I activate the second effect of Hardship! By reducing the Attack of the monster Equipped with Hardship to zero, I can prevent you from dealing any effect damage for the rest of this turn!" Energy flowed out of Junk Speeder, forming a glowing blue barrier around both Yami and Yusei.

The Master cackled. "You've saved your Life Points, but your field is about to be wiped out! Go Chaos End Ruler! Destroy everything! The End of Time: Infinity Blast!"The dragon howled a challenge to the cosmos as it blasted the entire field with golden and purple fire. The two legendary Duelists could only watch as the fire danced around them, the shield from Hardship protecting them from the flames.

"My Stardust…" Yusei gasped as his ace monster was disintegrated by the assault. He could win Duels without Stardust, he'd proven that much getting out of the Satellite, but this fight was crucial! He began to furiously think about what cards he had in his Deck that could recover banished cards. There weren't many. "No!"

Yami was silent as Obelisk the Tormentor tried to fight the flames, but like Stardust Dragon the Egyptian god card was engulfed and destroyed by the fires of chaos blasted by the Chaos End Ruler. Egyptian gods weren't immune to banishment, that much had been proven when he used Ragnarök against Ra back in Battle City.Yugi floated next to him in spirit form, fear on his face. "How can we stop this thing!?"

'We have one shot,' Yami thought to his partner. 'It'll come down to our next draw. Yusei's Trap saved our Life Points, and unless that facedown card on the Master's side is a power-up card, we both can survive one attack from this creature.'

Yugi nodded. "I have a feeling I know who the Master is going to attack after wiping out our field. Be careful Pharaoh!"

The silent conversation over, Yami turned his gaze towards the Chaos End Ruler as the flames died, leaving nothing but embers that were soon blown away by the mists of chaos. The galaxies that swirled about the floor seemed to tremble in the presence of this monster. "Your monster may seem unstoppable, but we'll find a way to take it down!"

The Master snorted. "Pheh! Defiant until the end! That's what I've always liked about you, you and Yugi both! So be it! You shall be the first to feel the wrath of my mighty herald of chaos! Battle!"

Yusei's glowing crimson eyes widened as he realized what his partner was doing. "No! Attack me instead!" He knew Yugi's Deck, while capable, was slower than his and so the Head Signer should be the one to take the damage as he had other ways to come back if he could draw them.

"You'll get your turn soon enough little Yusei," the Master taunted, wagging a finger playfully. "Chaos End Ruler – Envoy of the Beginning and the End! Attack Yugi directly! Hellfires of Armageddon!" All Yami could do was brace himself as he found himself suddenly bathed in dark flames. The pain was indescribable to the Pharaoh, it wasn't until the flames died that he realized he'd yelled himself hoarse before his legs gave out on him.

"Yugi!" the Head Signer shouted as Yami fell to his knees, bracing himself with his arms to avoid falling on the Puzzle. Smoke rose from his frame, and Yusei knew from the backwash of heat that he felt that the attack would've been lethal had Yugi not had Life Points to spare.

Yami LP: 2100

The Master laughed again, the sound ringing in the Pharaoh's ears as he fought to stay conscious, the Eye of Wdjat flickering on his forehead for a moment. "I…won't…give up!" The Puzzle glowed brightly as Yami unconsciously drew on the powers of the Puzzle, renewing his strength enough to push himself to a knee. "Not while… I still… have Life Points!"

"Oh don't you worry Yugi, you won't have those left for long," the Master said with an insidious grin. "But I'll give you both one final turn to struggle against the inevitable! The Age of Annihilation has begun! Savor your last turn gentlemen, for it's going to be the last card you ever draw! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!"

.

How's that for a continuation? Next chapter will wrap up both Leo & Luna vs Draco & Allana AND Joey vs Thomas' Duels in a dramatic conclusion that'll have implications for the following alternate version of the second half of 5D's that I'm working on. I'm really looking forward to getting to that, but first things first I gotta finish this story! I'm happy with how things have turned out so far, and for those that don't know, Chaos End Ruler was a card that was teased during Episode 10 of Yugioh Zexal before Yuma and Shark tag Dueled against those Fire and Ice Duelists, so it's a legit anime card that hasn't gotten a real world release for obvious reasons. I hoped you all enjoyed the chapter

.

Question for the chapter: In keeping with the theme of the recent previous questions, though this one is a little more wide ranging: Who is your favorite female Duelist? There have been a few that have had strong starts, but then the writers just don't know what to do with them as the series progresses. Sadly, it seems like it took until Sevens to not completely muck up a lady Duelist with Romin. But we've had some great beginnings for ladies like Akiza, who is my favorite because of her story in the first half of 5D's was some of the best storytelling we've seen. I'll be doing my best to give her an adequate story in the revised second half, but I'll be lucky to even come close to the quality of that first story. I've also come enjoy Rio's story in Zexal, but that may be more of a personal bias than anything. I also have a soft spot for Mai Valentine, even if she really didn't do much as a Duelist. But that's enough about my opinions, what about yours? Who's your favorite Duelist of the fairer sex? It could be for archetype reasons or character reasons, but I'd like to know.
