Something isn't quite right… Can't point out what it is though… Bea's intuition rarely ever failed her. In spite of the fact that everything in the house seemed normal, well as normal as normal could be with your younger brother being a ghost type Pokemon expert, Bea couldn't shake the feeling that something was horribly wrong.

She checked on Allister, who was currently watching cartoons on the couch while snuggled up to his mimikyu. On closer inspection, Bea couldn't see his violet eyes through the mask and she determined he was asleep. After tucking him in with the blanket from the back of the couch, Bea snuck upstairs to make sure an intruder hadn't made their way inside.

Okay, my room is all clear… The bathroom is all clear… All that's left is Allister's room… Bea took note to ask Allister to pick up his toys later as his floor looked like a tornado had gone through the place. The bad feeling intensified in this room, although nothing seemed out of the ordinary. That is, until one of the stuffed toys on the floor shifted its eyes to look directly at Bea. Although Bea didn't show it, she was very unnerved and slowly backed away, not daring to break eye contact should it get up and start moving on its own.

Definitely need to ask Allister about that once he's awake. It wouldn't be the first time he accidentally brought home a cursed object, but that's not something I would want to deal with on a frequent basis. Bea took a peek in her room to make sure the handy dandy crucifix she had in case of emergencies was still at her bedside table. When she looked back into Allister's room, the toy had returned to its initial state and was staring at the ceiling again.

It's probably just Alli's gengar up to its usual shenanigans. It's always taken delight in causing as much fear and chaos as possible. A shuffling sound from downstairs snapped her out of her thoughts as she turned her attention to the bottom of the steps. The familiar mimikyu let out a happy chirp before making its way back to the couch. Allister appeared not long after while clutching the blanket to his chest.

"G-glad it's just you sis… heard a noise and thought a burglar or a m-murderer had come inside…"

"I think your pokemon would scare off any intruders before they would make their way in. How was your day?"

"It was okay… I learned a lot of stuff in my online homeschool classes… I don't get some of it though if you can help me with my homework…" The odd interaction with the toy upstairs had been pushed to the back of her mind as Allister opened his workbook.

"They want us to do the parts of sentences in diagrams… I know what nouns and adjectives are but I'm having trouble with the rest." Bea took a look in Allister's notebook where he at least attempted before it turned into frustrated doodles.

"If it makes you feel better, I didn't learn how to do this until high school. I think they're changing the curriculum too much when kids your age should be focusing on things like spelling and vocabulary during language arts. But this is fresh enough in my mind that I can help you out." After a few minutes of explanation, she saw the look in Allister's eyes that meant something clicked and he quickly got to the rest of his work. "Let me know if you need anything else, okay?"

Allister nodded and giggled as Bea ruffled his hair. As she turned around, the wholesome moment quickly turned into terror as Bea noticed the same creepy toy from earlier now watching her from the staircase.

"Hey Alli, once you're done with your homework can we talk about something?" The purple eyes behind the mask immediately grew worried and fearful. "You're not in trouble and nothing is wrong. I just have a question about something in your room."

"I'm done now… are you mad at me?"

"No. There's no reason for me to be upset with you. I promise." Bea took Allister's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze as she was trying not to freak out about the possessed plush that was watching her. "I just noticed an odd looking toy in your room and was just curious where it came from."

"Well I was out in Stow-on-Side's market earlier today since I wanted to go before it got too busy. I found it just laying on the street. I took it around to the vendors and they said they weren't selling any. It looked kind of beat up and abandoned so I took it home with me since it looked sad."

"Did anything seem unusual about it?"

"No. Why?" As much as Allister loved all things in the supernatural and paranormal activity, Bea thought telling him that said plush might have been moving around on its own might spark more than just a bit of anxiety.

"I was just wondering. It looked pretty old so I was wondering if you found it at an antique booth or something like that." Allister still didn't quite buy Bea's excuse as his eyes narrowed in suspicion. A distraction from the subject would have to do. "Why don't we camp out in the living room and have a movie marathon tonight? We can even have ice cream for dinner."

"Allister, are you sure you want to watch Monster House before bed? You had really bad nightmares about our house trying to eat you for nearly a month last time you watched it."

Allister nodded from his spot on the pullout couch, snuggling Mimikyu with one arm and holding Bea's hand with the other. "You're going to be here with me all night anyways… right?"

"Right." As the movie played, Allister scooted closer and closer to his sister, eventually ending up on her lap and clinging to her as the movie progressed. Bea could also feel him trembling.

"You're still scared of this one, aren't you?"

"...Y-yeah…" Bea reached for the remote. "N-no! I need to see how it ends!"

Bea wasn't sure when she fell asleep, but noting a suffocating feeling of dread in the room, and was sure the suffocation wasn't from Allister flopped over her while sound asleep. The TV was still on, coating the room in a pale glow. Bea slowly turned her head to the side where it felt like she was being watched and saw red eyes only a few inches away from her face. The stuffed creature was much larger than it had been, nearly three feet tall by Bea's estimate.

Thankfully, Allister started stirring and the creature dropped. Bea could see it breathing now as it was only pretending to be an inanimate object. "Bea? Did you have a bad dream this time? I felt you flinch… Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm alright." Aside from the fact that there's a malevolent marionette literally six inches away from me.

"I can get you a glass of water like you usually get for me when I wake up scared." Allister sat up and yawned, a bit more aware of his surroundings now. "If you wanted to play with my new toy you could have just asked. You didn't have to steal it when I was sleeping."

"Alli, I should have been honest with you earlier but I didn't want you to panic. Something is deeply wrong with whatever you brought home. It's been giving me the stink eye and following me around since I got home." Bea feared she said the wrong thing as Allister bolted upstairs on all fours. The creature on the sofa slowly started to rise again and Bea heard an evil hiss escape its mouth as the zipper opened. She was about to call her loyal sirfetch'd from its pokeball when she felt something smack the back of her head. A dusk ball.

"S-sorry Sis! Duck!" Another one went flying past her head as the creature was enveloped in a red light and the ball landed on the couch, shaking a few times before clicking and settling. "Bea, this is incredible! That old plush I found turned into a Banette! I've never seen one in person before now… I'm allowed to keep it even though it was terrorizing you all day, right?"

"Sure. Just give me time to reapply some salt and holy water around my door before you let it back out."
