p class="MsoNormal"Cassie huffed as she sat on the rock, Jack's sheep lazily grazing in the meadows./p
p class="MsoNormal""That was fun," Jack said as he lay on the rock. "No Idea why you are complaining though."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Cassie wrinkled her nose, "I'm not complaining about the quest we just went on." She explained, "The mayor's son is starting to become incorrigible. No matter how many times I reject him he's always there, asking me to tea. Or to the latest ball."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Jack rolled his eyes while he groaned, "What specifically has he done this time?"/p
p class="MsoNormal"Cassie shook her head, her long black hair flowing in the wind, "Nothing horrid, 'cept be obnoxious." Cassie said. "Mother is of no help; she thinks it's splendid that the Mayor's son's taken an interest in me. She huffed and leaned back. "I miss, camp. At least if someone bothered me there I could just." Cassie waved her fingers imitating the way she'd use her powers, "And they'd leave me alone."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Jack stared at her for a long while trying to think of a way to help before he smiled and stood up. Cassie blinked at the sudden change in Jack's demeanour but said nothing as Jack started talking "When's the last time I took you flying?" he said abruptly./p
p class="MsoNormal"Cassie stared at him confused, "Flying? But Jack… what about the village if they see—"/p
p class="MsoNormal""No one will," Jack said waving away her concerns. "I'll make sure of that. How would you like to fly."/p
p class="MsoNormal""Zeus could get angry."/p
p class="MsoNormal""You just brought in his child's murderer 2 weeks ago, I think that's earned some goodwill," Jack said. "Come on. I'll put on the shoes that Dad gave me and we can fly around at night where no one'll see us."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Cassie looked down biting her lip before she looked back up at him. "Promise we won't get caught?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""Promise,"/p
p class="MsoNormal"Cassie stood, "Promise we won't go too high?"/p
p class="MsoNormal""Double Promise."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Cassie smiled, "Promise you'll bring me back before Mother notices I'm gone?"/p
p class="MsoNormal"Jack laughed, "Definitely promise that. Wouldn't want to risk your mother forbidding you from seeing me."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Cassie smiled and held out her hand. "Then I accept."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Jack smiled widely. "Thank you, Milady he said standing and giving her a bow. I look forward to it."/p
p class="MsoNormal"***span style="mso-spacerun: yes;" /span/p
p class="MsoNormal"Just after midnight when everyone was certain to be asleep, a dark figure was seen darting from a house and to the nearby pond in the village, where another dark figure was waiting for her./p
p class="MsoNormal""Jack!" Cassie laughed as she hurried to him./p
p class="MsoNormal"Jack hugged her tightly picked her up and twirled her around for a moment before he put her down. "Ready."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Cassie laughed and nodded giddily. "Yes. Yes!" She said struggling to keep her voice down./p
p class="MsoNormal"Jack laughed at how eager she was and gripped her hand. "Maia" He whispered. The shoes on his feet sprouted wings and he rose into the air./p
p class="MsoNormal"Jack laughed bent down and wrapped his arm around Cassie's waist. "Hold on tight, Angelfish." He whispered in her air as they took off./p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-spacerun: yes;" /spanCassie laughed as he took off with her in his arms./p
p class="MsoNormal"They laughed as they flew through the air, only held up by the wings of Jack's shoes./p
p class="MsoNormal""It was kind of your father to gift you these shoes as a reward for helping bring in Eleanor." Cassie laughed as they flew over the mayor's house./p
p class="MsoNormal""It was a gift well earned," Jack said as he attempted a diver with her in his arms. Cassie screamed and laughed in exhilaration./p
p class="MsoNormal""You are a menace." Cassie laughed she kissed his cheek. "But my menace."/p
p class="MsoNormal"Jack flushed deeply at the show of affection, momentarily grateful that the shoes did not respond to his emotions but instead his desires. Because at the moment he felt as though they were both flying and floating at the same time. "I am proud to be your… menace." He said attempting to salvage his reputation./p
p class="MsoNormal"Cassie smiled and Jack found himself staring at her as though she was truly seeing her for the first time. Her smile was bright, happy, and beautiful. She was beautiful./p
p class="MsoNormal"He was sure he could stare at her all day should he wish to./p
