DM Jessica and The Litter Queen Chapter 1
One summer's day, the Gru family went out for a picnic in the countryside, they were taking Jillian's daughter, Jessica and her cousin Joshua too. They were going to a place called White Unicorn Hill. Agnes was excited. ''This is gonna be the best picnic ever!'' she cheered. Sure enough from the view of the car park on the side of the big hill was a massive white unicorn shape. Agnes squealed with delight as Gru parked the airship. There was plenty of food for everyone so they all helped to carry something. ''We'll have our picnic at the bottom of the hill'' said Lucy, ''I know the perfect spot''. Gru and Dru spread out a picnic rug and everyone sat as Lucy unpacked the food. ''Yummy!'' said Joshua, ''These sandwiches are great!''.
''And this is a great place for a picnic said Margo, ''You can see for miles on a day like this''. ''You'll be able to even more at the top of the hill'' said Dru. When they had all eaten, The boy and the girls wanted to walk up the big hill, Jessica and Joshua began to race ahead with Margo, Edith and Agnes trying to catch up. Lucy called them all back. ''Look at this litter you've left behind'' she said, ''Come and pick it all up and put it in a bag''. Margo, Edith, Agnes, Jessica and Joshua did as they were told. ''Imagine how terrible the place would look with wrappers, packets, etc everywhere'' Lucy went on, ''Not only that, the wild animals who live round here could mistake it for food and make themselves sick!''.
''What sort of animals Lucy?'' asked Joshua. ''Foxes, badgers, squirrels, rabbits, all sorts'' replied Lucy. ''What about bears?'' asked Edith. ''Oh! I love bears!'' said Joshua, ''My dad gave me his teddy bear from his childhood when I was four years old''. "There are no bears in these parts of the woods otherwise it'll be too dangerous for a picnic" chuckled Lucy. ''OK, how 'bout wolves?'' asked Margo. ''I don't like wolves'' quivered Agnes, '' They remind me of the Big Bad Wolf from the Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and even The Boy Who Cried Wolf!''. ''There are no wolves either'' reassured Lucy. They took the picnic things as well the garbage back to the airship, then everyone walked up the big hill together. It took a while, when they got to the top, they sat down for a rest. ''You were right Uncle Dru'' said Margo, ''You can really see for miles around! Everything including houses and traffic look so small from up here!''.
Just then a strange looking aircraft flew past. ''What's that?'' asked Joshua, ''It looks like a flying chair''. ''Eet's a microlight'' explained Gru, ''I suppose eet is a bit like a chair with wings''. ''I'd love to fly in one'' said Edith. ''I wouldn't'' said Jessica, ''It looks quite dangerous''. Later they walked through some woods. Kyle, Blondie and Lucky ran in and out of the trees. Suddenly Blondie yelped. ''Oh no!'' said Margo, ''Mom! Look at Blondie, I think she's hurt herself''. Blondie started to limp. She couldn't walk properly. Her paw was bleeding. Lucy came over and looked at Blondie's paw. ''Oh Blondie it looks as if you've cut it''.
Jessica found a broken glass bottle. ''Lucy, Blondie must have cut her paw on this'' she said. Lucy was cross. ''It's very dangerous to leave broken glass lying about'' she said. Lucy got out the first aid kit and bandaged Blondie's paw. The boy and the girls wanted to play soccer before they went home so they played a game. Blondie tried to join in, but her paw was too sore. ''Poor Blondie'' said Margo, ''Just her luck to step on some broken glass!''. When it was time to go home, The boy and the girls said, ''Thank you for taking us!''. ''All dis fresh air has made me hungry'' said Gru. ''Me too brother'' said Dru, ''Let's stop for something to eat on the way home''. Everyone thought that was a great idea too. They stopped off at Pooh Burger, a fast food restaurant themed on Winnie The Pooh. When they had finished their burgers and fires, Edith and Agnes looked around for a litter bin. There was only one nearby and it was full and overflowing.
Edith threw her garbage on the ground next to the overloaded litter bin. ''I don't think we should be doing that'' said Jessica as she placed her garbage on top of the pile and making sure it didn't fall down. ''What else can we do?'' said Edith, ''The litter bin is full, so what does it matter?''. Gru and his family dropped Jessica and Joshua off at Jillian's house before going home themselves. They were all tired after a good day out. Jessica was glad to get into bed.
