A Sprinkle of Green

Anzu sighed happily as she shifted and tweaked the beautiful arrangement in front of her. Her fingers worked skillfully, never faltering once as she quickly brought to life a masterpiece of colors.
Letting out a satisfied hum, she carefully tied a pretty pink ribbon around the stems until she managed a decent looking bow.
"That will be 7478.00 yen please."
Her customer quickly fished the money out of his wallet and gladly paid the florist.
"Oh thank you so much Mazaki-san! You're a life saver!" He breathed gratefully.
Anzu chuckled and handed him the arrangement. "No problem. I think your lady friend will be more forgiving than you think, but flowers do often help soften ruffled feathers. Just try not to forget your date night again." She said teasingly.
Her customer bowed and tucked the arrangement of different color roses carefully in his arm. "Boy, don't I know it. Thanks again!"
The bell over the door chimed cheerfully as the young man hastened out the shop and hurried off to meet up with his girlfriend for their make-up date.
The florist waved after him until he vanishes from out sight, then eyed the many rose petals that covered her front counter.
Scooping them gently into her hand, she walked to the back room of the shop and headed for a small table littered with pots that sat at the back against the wall.
Laying the petals on the wooden surface, she proceeded to separate the colors into piles until she had several neat stacks, then she lined up a set of pots and poked the petals into the fresh dirt.
Finishing, she pulled one to herself and began to shift her fingers over it, like she was sprinkling something.
A green mist fluttered from her fingers and tinkled lightly down onto the soil. A small head of a plant poked out, slowly emerging until several stems brimming with buds crawled out of the dirt and began to bloom into bright and healthy yellow roses.
She repeated this process on the other pots, getting the same results and soon, there on the table sat five brimming rose plants of yellow, red, pink, white and purple.
Anzu smiled and shifted the plants over to a long row filled with other flowers and set them where they could enjoy the sprinkler system installed over them.
"There you go guys. This should get you good and ready for the next batch of bouquets." She said cheerfully, stroking one of the white roses petals before she made her way back into the store.
The Dancing Lilly Boutique was Mazaki Anzu's pride and joy. While it wasn't the dancing career she had dreamed of, it was a close second and Anzu was happy to be able to put her gifts to good use.
She had always had a strange infinity for flowers, or any plant in general. But she had never fully realized why until she had hit the age of fourteen.
In fact, it was her best friend Yugi that helped her discover that she was in fact, a Floral Witch and a powerful one too.
While she didn't particularly care to be called a witch, it explained why she could always save a dying plant and why she found vegetation growing in her bedroom every morning in the strangest places.
Muto Yugi, once he realized what was going on with his friend, quickly introduced her to an old Priestess by the name of Kaede, who so happen to be helping the smaller teen and his brother with their powers or 'gifts' as she called them.
Turns out, the Muto brothers were Summoners and had once accidentally called forth a massive red dragon that had immediately decided to wrap itself around Kaiba Corp. Tower like a perch, then proceeded to bring forth a powerful thunderstorm that caused a major blackout.
How that incident had been covered up and the elder Kaiba appeased…...Well, lets just say there was a LOT of money, sweet talkers and a couple of mind wipers involved.
Needless to say, Kaede specialized in helping talented young people and was not in the least bit ruffled about Anzu's gift. The old Priestess was part of a group that protected and trained 'The Gifted', and being one herself, she understood what it was like for first timers.
The brunette took to the Miko's lesson quickly and was able to master her gift brilliantly, though not without a few complications along the way.
Her parents hadn't known about her powers until she had sneezed and caused a massive fern to suddenly sprout out of their chimney while she was still mastering her abilities, which had taken 'weeks' to get rid of. They weren't particularly happy about it, being worried and afraid that she would be taken away since The Gifted were hidden from society.
But their love for their daughter won over their worries and they gladly supported her new way of life, helping her buy and setup the Boutique so Anzu could earn a living while concealing her gift.
The Dancing Lilly made a pretty nice profit, being one of the most popular floral shops in Domino, which was a small city on the outskirts of Tokyo. The brunette had all sorts of customers visit the shop, from the wife of the President of Taishō Enterprises, to the aid of Empress Sango who….turned out to be a really big flirt and had the audacity to ask if she would 'bear his children'.
She smirked about remembering the slap she had given him, which had left a big, fat, red hand-print on his cheek that the bunch of Forget-Me-Nots displayed in the window still laugh about.
Humming to herself, Anzu walked over to said planet and started fixing the blue and white petals, tisking when they rustled at her touch.
"Now, now, behave." She scolded lightly.
A whispery chuckle brushed her ears.
"Ugh. Must you always be so mischievous?" Anzu groaned.
The reply she received made her scowl and tap the porcelain pot with a warning. "Watch it. I have clippers in the back and you are looking like you could use a trim."
The Forget-Me-Nots rustled it's stems but settled down to where the florist could finish fixing its petals.
"Thank you." Anzu said with a hint of snark. "Honestly you little troublemaker, I don't know where you get your attitude."
The bell to the shop door rang and it open to a rather short teenager that had spiky, purple trim black hair with yellow bangs.
The teen caught sight of the florist by the window and smiled brightly. "Hey Anzu-kun!"
Anzu's demeanor lighten up instantly. "Yugi-chan! Hey to you too! What brings you here this morning? I thought you had to help at the game shop today."
Yugi strolled over to her, waving at the Forget-Me-Nots that rustled at his presence. "I did but Yami-kun's class was canceled, so Nii-san said he would take my shift today." he replied. His purple eyes danced with excitement. "Kaede-sensei also wanted to meet with us here, so I figured I get here early in case you needed help."
"Aw, Yugi. Your so sweet." Anzu cooed, feeling her heart warm at her friend's consideration. "All I have to do right now is to refresh the magic on the flowers in the back, so could you mind the store for me?" She rolled her eyes good-naturally. "I promised them a dance while I do it, but I didn't want to risk anybody seeing me without a lookout."
Her best friend nodded eagerly. "Of course Anzu. I be happy to keep an eye out for you."
Anzu thanked him and scurried to the back, untying her apron and tossing it on a hanger to keep it out of the way.
The Muto brother sighed and took his place behind the counter, leaning on it with a small love-struck look in his eyes.
"Ah Anzu….. how pretty you do so look." he thought dreamily. "Would I ever stand a chance to gain your complete and utter affection?"
He sighed again and started fidgeting with a pen laying on the counter surface, keeping an eye for anyone coming while his ear listened to the music coming from the back.
Yugi always loved to watch Anzu dance. The grace and skill she displayed while using her Floral Witch powers was a sight to behold and made the shorter teen care for the brunette even more so.
His older brother Yami would tease mercilessly him about his crush, then urge him to ask her out before someone else came along and won her over.
But Yugi could never bring himself to ask the pretty brunette with eyes of blue out on a date. He felt like a coward, but he was too afraid that he would ruin their friendship if he did ask her.
Besides, what could 'he' possible offer to such an amazing person? He was, well, a nerd. And there really wasn't anything they had in common beside games and that was minor because Anzu preferred dancing games over the ones he would play with the guys.
Not to say Anzu 'wouldn't play those game and when she got going….
Aw man, he felt his crush grow for her again when she totally creamed them all in Super Smash Bros. with Peach.
Much to Honda and Jonouchi's great humiliation.
"Are you quite done looking like a love-sick puppy Yugi?"
"ACK!"
Yugi jerked back but lost his footing and tumbled behind the counter in a heap. "Oof!"
An old woman with an eye patch peered over the counter at him with a bland gaze.
"Really young man. Either you tell Anzu that you hopelessly smitten with her, or you'll wind up having a nervous breakdown." Kaede remarked. Her brow furrowed slightly. "Considering what happen last time you did, I don't think Lord Taishō will be so willing to bail you out again."
The short Summoner blushed and stood back up while brushing his jacket clean. "A-Ah hah. Uh, n-no, Kaede-sensei. I don't think you and Toga-sama will have to worry about that happening again." He scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
"Hm." The old Miko eyed him sternly. "Either way, Yugi. You really need to come to grips with your relationship with Anzu sooner or later. It's starting to affect your summoning and I don't particularly care to have to deal with anymore more love themed monsters during our training sessions!" she huffed crossly.
Yugi groaned and thunked his head on the counter. "I knoooow. I don't mean to call them forth, but they just pop out."
That was also another thing Yami was teasing him about lately and he absolutely HATED it.
Kaede just raised an eyebrow at the rather pathetic sight of the obviously love-struck boy and just shook her head.
"And I thought Kagome and Inuyasha had it bad."
She cleared her throat and tucked her arms behind her back. "Anyways Yugi. I have something I need to discuss with you two, so if you could go check and see if Anzu's done…"
Yugi popped his head back up. "Oh…Oh! Right! Sorry Kaede-sensei. I'll go get her." He scrambled to the back room as quick as his short legs could run.
Anzu was in the middle of a complex looking ballet when Yugi poked his head in the room.
"Anzu-kun. Kaede-sensei is here." he said softly.
The florist smiled at him and proceeded to twirl while green mist floated gently around the air. "Okay Yugi-chan. I'll be there in a minute."
She did a few more steps, spreading her magic around the flowers that swayed along with her. She reached the final stage and did a magnificent twirl with one leg stretched up in the air while she balanced on her toes. Then she gracefully landed and curtsied, allowing the mist to settled on the very happy flowers that rustled their buds like they were applauding.
She grinned and stood back up normally. "Okay, I'm done." she declared cheerfully and turned off her I-pod.
Yugi stared at her with a star-struck look, his mouth hanging slightly open in awe.
"Yugi, you coming?"
He quickly shook himself and blushed as Anzu walked pass him. "Yes! Yes, I'm coming."
The two made there way back to the front of the store. Kaede waited patiently for Anzu to lock the front door and turned the Open sign around to Close before rejoining them.
"I have a mission for you two. Something I believe only you both can complete with success." she started with a serious tone. "It is very important that you pay close attention to what I must say, for it is crucial for the good of a fellow Gifted."
The two teenagers stood up straighter at the tone and listened intently.
"Three nights ago, a young child, a newly discovered Gifted, was taken by Agents of Doma and was reported to being in the process of being transported to their main headquarters on the outskirts of California. Your job, is to intercept these agents before they leave Japan and rescue that young girl by any means necessary."
The two let out a shocked breath, both alarmed by the news.
"Doma?" Anzu asked shakily. "But I thought anything to do with Doma was left to the Elders and Elites."
Kaede sighed and closed her eyes. "Unfortunately, the Elders and Elites are currently preoccupied with Naraku, 'who' is once again, making another foolish attempt in wooing my sister and stealing the Shikon no Tama."
The Florist looked disgusted. "Ugh. Does that guy have no life?"
"None whatsoever apparently." The Miko deadpanned.
Yugi tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Doma only ever goes for really powerful Gifted." he mused. "So this girl must be rather powerful if she caught their attention."
Kaede nodded grimly. "Indeed. She is related to one of our secret benefactors and, while her grandfather possesses no such abilities, he is very important to our sociaty and has pleaded for our aid."
"Well of course we'll help." Anzu declared boldly. "No way we're going to just stand by while a couple of thugs make off with a helpless kid."
"Hmph. Rebecca is not completely helpless, just a little too rambunctious and smart for her on good. But yes. We need to act quickly, if we are to stop Doma from making off with her."
"Yes lets-…..Wait." Yugi suddenly had a look of dread. "Rebecca….As in…..Rebecca Hopkins?"
"Yes. Why?" Kaede asked a bit impatiently.
"Oh boy."

[12 hours later]
It was late, the moon high in the sky giving some form of light and made the water splashing in the harbor shine with a silvery white reflection.
The two teenagers, both clade in dark battle body suits, kept their eyes peeled for the Doma Agents from on top of a warehouse roof. Their magic held at the ready, while their muscles were tense for the upcoming action.
It had been at least a few hours and they were starting to get worried that they had the wrong place.
But Kaede assured them that her source was reliable, and the targets would be approaching their position soon.
Anzu glanced over at her partner and couldn't help but ask the question that had been bugging her all day. "Sooo. How do you know Rebecca Hopkins?"
Yugi sighed and propped himself up on his arms. "My Oji-chan and hers are good friends. They used to go on archaeology digs together when they were younger and they now often meet up to go over old artifacts or museum showings." He shook his head ruefully and rubbed his temples. "Rebecca usually is with Professor Hopkins and she…ah….has this REALLY big crush on me."
Blue eyes blinked, startled. "Say what? How old is she?"
"Eight."
"But your sixteen!"
"I know that and she knows that, but it doesn't faze her in the slightest."
Anzu poked out her lip with a frown. "Well that's annoying."
Yugi groaned. "I knooow. I've tried to tell her I'm not interested and rather be friends. But so far, no such luck…And Yami doesn't help much with it either."
"Hmph. Sounds like she needs an attitude adjustment" Anzu said darkly. Her eyes took on a dangerous gleam.
Her partner inched away from her a bit. "Hah. Uh, its not that bad Anzu-chan. I can put up with it pretty well."
"Still…."
"Oh look there's headlights! Thank goodness." Yugi sweat dropped in relief.
A dark green van pulled up to the warehouse and two men exited the vehicle.
One was tall and buff, sporting blond hair with odd sideburns. The other had soft spiky brown hair and was dressed like a biker with goggles hanging from his neck.
They rounded to the back doors of the van and swung them open.
"You got her Amelda?" The blond one asked gruffly.
A tall skinny red head in a trench coat jumped out with a struggling bundle under his arm. The bundle growled and kicked, screeching out muffled threats at the three Doma Agents.
The brown head laughed, poking the bundle to get another growl. "Man! This kids a wildcat huh."
"Stop agitating her Varon, before I make 'you' carry her so you can put up with her kicks in the ribs." the red hair snapped at his companion harshly.
"Aw come on Amelda. Lighten up a little. We'll be stashing her in the boat in a minute so your ribs can get a break."
"Knock it off both of you." The blond ordered. "Dartz-sama wants this girl as quickly as possible, so the sooner we can get her to him the better. Understood?"
"Yes Rafael." They both said seriously.
The three men shut the van up and began to walk to the warehouse doors, failing to spot the two pairs of eyes watching them from above.
Yugi met Anzu's eyes and held three fingers up while mouthing "on three."
The brunette nodded her head, her face determined.
Just as the men reached the doors, Yugi finished counting and the two Gifted launched themselves off the rooftop.
Anzu thrust her hand forward and caused vines to sprout from the ground that ensnare the startled men, causing Amelda to drop the bag.
Yugi summoned a lion looking creature with a horn and a green wolf with yellow eyes, both snarling and growling at their prey viciously.
The Doma Agents glared at the two, flexing their trapped limbs against the vines while tying to grab back the bag that had their captive.
Anzu had one of the vines lift the bag over to her and out of their reach. "Nah ah. I'll be taking that." She declared and proceeded to untie the rope holding the sack shut.
A small head with blond pigtails poked out, revealing a young girl with bright blue eyes clutching a teddy bear.
Anzu lifted her out and sat her down on her feet. "Are you okay Rebecca?"
The eight-year-old nodded, sniffing slightly. "I-I'm okay. Thank yoo-.."
Yugi stiffen when her eyes fell on him and he winced.
"DARLING!"
*Wump*
"Oh darling I'm so happy to see you! My Yugi!"
The three men and Anzu blinked at the sight of Rebecca strangling poor Yugi on the ground. The teen wheezed and patted her arms clasped around his throat.
"Erg! R-Rebec-cca, can't breathe!"
Anzu reached down and dislodged the leech from her partner.
"Hey, hellllooo! This is not the time for this. And what do you mean 'your Yugi'?" the brunette growled.
The blond glared at her while clutching her bear. "Because, he IS 'my Yugi'. Get with the program, weedy!"
Yugi, Amelda and Rafael winced as Varon cackled. "Alright, cat fight!"
Both females flushed. "Shut up!"
Rafael had enough. "Eatos! Cut us free!"
A winged female suddenly zoomed past them and sliced the vines with her sword. Four more monsters appeared behind the first, looking ready to fight.
"Ah nuts, he's a Summoner!" Yugi yelped and called forth two more of his own monsters.
Anzu and Rebecca stopped arguing and refocused on the other two free agents that were closing in on them.
Rebecca dropped her teddy bear, snapping her fingers which caused the toy to change into a massive grizzle bear in overalls. She took on Amelda, who shot fire at her but was blocked by her pet lunging for his head.
Anzu quickly brought forth two Venus Flytrap creatures from the ground and sent them snapping at Varon, who yelped and sped away in a blur as he dodged several vines she tried to snare him with and started throwing punches at her plant minons.
Yugi's Silent Magician blocked an attack from Rafael's Guardian Grarl's axe with her staff, throwing the lizard looking brute to the side and shot a ball of magic at Guardian Elma before she could knife Silver Fang.
Silent Swordsman exchanged blows with Guardian Eatos, their swords clanging loudly due to the power behind their strikes. Phantom Beast King Gazelle was trying to break through Guardian Kay'est defense but was having difficulty getting past her water barriers, yet the Mermaid couldn't hit him either as he leapt nimbly around her in a blur.
Meanwhile their Summoners were throwing their own blows at each other. Yugi felt the wind pass through his hair as he ducked under one of Rafael's swings. Mentally thanking Yami and Jonouchi for teaching him how to fight, the Muto brother jabbed the behemoth (Compared to him) in the side right below the ribs. Rafael let out a chocked grunt and brought his leg up to kick the teen, forcing the gamer to pull back, yet Yugi was quick and darted back in with a pointed jab in the other side of his rib cage.
Amelda shot both his hands to unleash two streams of fire into the live teddy bear's face. The animal wasn't fazed by it however and broke through the fire with its maw wide open. The red hair jumped back to avoid the head but fail to see the massive paw coming from the side. It swatted him like a fly and sent him tumbling to the side like a rag doll.
"Yes! Go Teddy-chan!" Rebecca cheered.
Amelda heaved himself up, holding his ribs with an angry scowl. "You little brat!"
He shot himself towards her with fire from his feet and fiery punched her bear in the jaw, sending it to the ground and leapt over it towards her with an arm up raised.
Rebecca just smirked and pulled something out of her hoody pocket while snapping her fingers.
Amelda shrieked when a dozen colorful live rubber snakes wrapped around him and smashed him into the ground.
The rainbow snakes hissed and tightened their coils around the squirming male, looking quite satisfied as they muffled his squeaks.
"Aw, and I thought Agents of Doma liked snakes." Rebecca mocked. Her bear leaned over her, prompting the child to start scratching it under the chin as it kicked it's leg in enjoyment. "You're such a good boy, Teddy-chan! Yes, yes you are!" she cooed.
Anzu was having a little more trouble than her two companions and could feel the strain of maintaining her plants. Varon was just moving too fast, and his taunts and flirts were really ticking her off as he socked one of her Venus Flytraps unconscious.
"What's wrong babe?! Not quite the fly you thought I would be?!" He hollered with a smug grin, flipping over the other flytrap's head as it snapped at him.
Anzu huffed but refuse to react to his jeers. She gritted her teeth when another vine missed and resolved it was time to change her strategy.
Waiting for the right moment, the brunette pulled out a vine like she was going to grab him again, then stomped her foot on the ground and conjured a spider like net of vines filled with yellow flowers in his way. Varon couldn't dodge it, so he twisted and slammed his feet into the middle, using his moment to push it to shoot him out like a spring.
Only, he hadn't counted on the flowers exploding into clouds of yellow dust.
"*Cough* *Cough* Agh! What's this? Running out of ideas so you decide to blow up flowers in my face." He laughed and skidded across the cement to a stop.
"Actually, that's not a regular flower." Anzu said calmly, her arms crossed. "That's Gelsemium Elegans, or Heartbreak Grass, which can cause paralysis and various other systems."
Varon stiffen and paled, then felt his limbs freeze and toppled over twitching.
The Florist walked over to him and peered down smugly. "Did I forget to mention it's considered one of the most poisonous plants in the world. Oh but don't worry, you only need to ingest a certain amount to actually die. Though, I can't really say, since I don't know how much you've actually ingested."
Varon wheezed and paled even more.
"Try not to pass out, otherwise you might not wake up again." Anzu grinned and walked around the stiff agent. Her Venus Flytrap chuckled in her head since she failed to tell Varon that she could withhold certain effects in all her plants when she so desired.
Yugi and Rafael panted and glared at each other as they caught their breath. Two of their monsters were down while the other two continued to fight, the dock looking a little battle worn from the missed attacks and shots of loose magic.
Rafael huffed and swiped a hand across his sweaty brow. "*Huff* You pretty good, for an amateur."
Yugi snorted, keeping his hands up defensively. "You're not so bad yourself."
The blond shook his head and also lifted his hands. "It's a shame we're on opposite sides. I would have like very much to have challenged you in a fair dual."
"It's not too late for that. You can still turn back from this path." Yugi encouraged.
"Hah. You make it sound so simple." Rafael replied wishfully. "But it is not. I owe a great deal to Dartz-sama and cannot abandon my oath."
"Dartz doesn't care about you, oath or not." Yugi persisted. "He's just using you and your gifts for his own whims."
"Perhaps." The blond shrugged. "Regardless, I will finish my mission and you are in my way." He summoned his two monsters Eatos and Elma by his side and crouched. "Prepare yourself."
Yugi did the same with Silent Magician and Silent Swordsman, disappointed the agent would not listen to reason.
They stood there silently for a minute, then an invisible shot went off and the two Summoners and their monsters charged.
Rafael blocked a jab and punched Yugi in the chest. It sent him sliding back into Silent Swordsman, who caught his master and pushed him forward, giving Yugi a boost as he lunged up and nailed the blond on the side of the head with a kick.
Eatos swung at Silent Magician's head, making the magic monster raise her staff and block the blow then deflect it to the side. Elma came in at her side and tried to stab her. The Magician blocked it quickly, then glanced over to see Eatos coming in with her sword raised and twirled her staff to throw off Elma's knife and whirl out of the way of the winged warrior.
Silent Swordsman rushed in to help his comrade and managed to catch an unsuspecting Elma in the waist with a slash. The Guardian shattered, leaving only Eatos to deal with the two Silent monsters that attacked her from both sides.
Rafael growled at the lost and tossed Yugi to the side. He ran into the fray and decked Silent Magician in the face, causing the monster to lose her staff and go tumbling across the floor until she came to a stop and shattered.
"No, Melinda!" Yugi cried with an outstretched hand.
Silent Swordsman seethed with the attack on his friend and his power increased with his rage. With a roar he brought his sword down at Rafael's head, cleaving straight through Eatos's blade when she had move to intercept the blow for her master.
Eatos cried out as she was cut in two and flew backwards, shattering into pieces in front of her Summoner.
"Eatos!" Rafael yelled and lunged at the swordsman.
Silent Swordsman blocked him with the blunt of his sword, then leapt back with a flip and raised his sword above himself sideways when he landed in a crouch.
Yugi raced up behind his monster and leapt on top of the sword that the monster heaved up in the air with a powerful launch. The move startled Rafael, giving Yugi the chance to catch him off guard and hurl himself at the blond with a foot outstretched.
"YAAAAAGGHH!" Yugi yelled, nailing Rafael straight in the face.
Rafael lifted off the ground and went sailing backwards into the air. A stream of blood flowed out from his nose as he flew and landed on the ground with a loud *thud*. Out cold from the strong, combined attack.
Yugi landed before the Doma Agent, panting loadly as he shakily pushed himself up straight.
Seeing the fight was done, he turned and nodded at his monster gratefully. "Thank you, Neo. You can go check on Malinda and the others. I shouldn't need you guys anymore tonight."
Silent Swordsman saluted him with his blade and faded away back into the Realm of Beast.
Yugi sighed and brushed a hand through his bangs. He smiled when he caught sight of Anzu heading towards him while dragging a stiff Varon behind her with a rope of vines, making the gamer chuckle.
"I was a little concern you were having trouble with the Speedster, but I see my fears were unfounded." He said happily.
Anzu giggled and dropped the Doma Agent roughly on the ground. "Same to you. I must say I'm impressed with that last move you pulled. It looked similar to one of my ballet jumps."
"Oh, ah hah! I-It actually, was inspired by one of your ballet dances." Yugi scratched his hair sheepishly. "I thought it would be cool to learn a few steps, so I could help you practice."
The brunette blushed and clasped her hands to her chest. "Oh Yugi-chan. That's so thoughtful of you!"
Yugi also blushed, feeling his heart flutter at the overjoyed look on his crush's face. He studied his partner hesitantly for a moment, before he decided to take the plunge.
"H-Hey, Anzu-kun? After we wrap this all up. Would you…um….would you….?"
Anzu tilted her head at him. "Yes Yugi-chan?" She asked sweetly.
Yugi took a breath. "Would….would you like to-?"
"DARLING!"
*Wump*
Rebecca shook the poor Summoner roughly in a hug, jabbering up a storm in a rush of words. "Did you see what I did! Did you see it did you SEE it?! I was so cool and Teddy-chan was AMAZING! And my Snakey-chans are a keeping the jerk-face tied up and he's so freaking out and that's totally weird because I thought Doma guys were supposed to like snakes yet Amelda's screaming like a girl but I know you my Yugi-chan would never scream like that and you're so AMAZING and we should get married because think about how awesome our kids would be!"
Anzu growled and gripped her arms tightly so she wouldn't strangle the little brat. Her Venus Flytrap growled as well and offered to eat her, but Anzu said no because Kaede wouldn't be too happy and quickly dismissed the plant.
She walked a distance away so she wouldn't reconsider.
"Of all the rotten luck. Why did that little banshee have to have a thing for Yugi?" The brunette gritted her teeth to keep from snarling, an overwhelming feeling of jealous making her fume.
She scowled as Yugi just sat there as the chatter box went on and 'on' about why they were such a good match, causing blue eyes to burn. "So she can change toys into live animals. Big deal. That doesn't make her the perfect one for Yugi. And while I may be only capable of creating plants, at least I know what Yugi's really like, and how kind he can be, and sweet, and he's so considerate towards others. He's not that shallow image she's painting and I would know because he's MY YUGI!"
Anzu froze and blushed deeply. "W-Wait…My Yugi?"
A snapping sound caught her attention, making Anzu whirl around to see Amelda finishing burning off the snakes and glare at her companions dangerously.
He leapt up into the air with a stream of fire and started creating a massive fireball over his head.
Blue eyes widen in alarm. "LOOK OUT!" The Florist screamed.
Yugi jerked up to see the Doma Agent shoot the projectile at them. He quickly jumped to his feet and shoved a frozen Rebecca out harms way while trying to summon a shield monster to his side.
But his friend knew he wouldn't be quick enough.
Anzu raced forward to reach her partner, but she knew she would be too late and hopelessly outstretched her hand with a cry. "YYYYUUUUUUUGGGGGGGIIIIIIIII!"
A sprinkle of green flew from her outstretched fingers and settled around the Summoner.
A massive tree suddenly burst from the ground and grew up around him, rising to intercept the fireball. Pink petals sprouted all around it as branches burst forth and caught the flaming object like a hand, then slingshot the ball back at a stunned Amelda.
The Pyro didn't even have time to move before the compacted fire slammed into him and shot him across the harbor until he landed on the other side and into the bay. A stream if smoke trailing behind him till a breeze dissipated it into the air.
Anzu eyes blurred as tears poured down while she ran for the tree. She reached the truck and pulled the bark open until she could look inside.
"Yugi!"
Yugi sat huddled in a large hallow hole protected by thick wood surrounding it, panting heavily while looking a bit dazed. But he appeared unharmed.
"Oh Yugi!" Anzu exclaimed and crawled inside the hallow hole, clutching her friend tightly to her as she cried in relief. "Are you okay?! Please tell me you are okay!"
Yugi had to take a few minutes before he could answer. "I-I'm okay! I'm okay." He hugged her back just as tightly. "Thank you, Anzu."
The brunette sniffed and buried her face in his neck. "I thought I lost you!"
"I thought you lost me too." Yugi said shakily, feeling his resolve from earlier come back even stronger. "Which is why I can't waste this chance anymore!"
Anzu felt confused "W-what chance?" She asked sniffing.
She became even more puzzled when Yugi pulled her back and met her eyes. "Yugi?"
"I've been meaning to tell you this and I've waited too long to tell you this and I'm sorry I didn't. But, Anzu, I've got a HUGE crush on you!"
The Florist blushed brightly. "Y-Yugi?"
"I know I should have told you sooner! But I was too chicken to say anything, and I felt you could do so much better than me because, your so beautiful Anzu. So talented and kind and any guy would be so lucking to have you!" He hung his head shamefully. "I was also afraid of ruining our friendship and if I have, I am 'so' sorry Anzu. I like you and I will always like you, but if you-."
A finger on his lips hushed him and he lifted his head to see sparkling blue eyes gaze at him affectionately.
"Oh Yugi." Anzu breathed, giving him a sweet smile that made his heart flutter again. "I like you too."
Yugi gasped, his eyes growing larger. "R-Re…Really?!"
Anzu giggled and pulled him closer. "Very, very much." She purred and tugged him into a kiss.
The Summoner startled, then closed his eyes and sank into the kiss, his heart beating so loudly it echoed in the hollowed hole.
Anzu also closed her eyes and waved her hand to close the tree trunk, her magic glowing around them as a several love flowers popped up all over the hole.
Outside, Happy Lover's danced around the Sakura blooms, chirping cheerfully as the pink flowers snickered along with the humming tree.
If the two love birds had looked outside, they would have been surprised to see Rebecca sitting on top of a still stiff Varon, talking on his stolen cellphone with a grin.
"Yep. They're totally busy. Probably will be for a while." She laughed, scratching her live teddy bear under his chin. "Everything went just as you said. Though Doma helped out a bit with that."
"Oh that reminds me Kaede-sensei…I believe you owe me that collection of 'Gem Dragons' you promised me and a nice payed trip to the hot springs. I'm going to need one after all this."

Authors Note: These two series will always be my favorites and it's a shame that there aren't as many stories with these two that are complete or written. Also, I think it's funny that both series creators have the same last name. Not sure if their related though, but I thought it was an interesting coincidence.
For those of you who may find this one shot familiar, I saved it from another collection of dabbles and decided to run with this universe. It was a lot of fun to write and I had once thought of expanding further with the idea. So low and behold, I did and will be currently adding more stories like this one to it. There will be not set updates however, as I will be doing these off and on.

Types of Gifted:
[Flora Witches/Wizards] People with an infinity for plants, this class of Gifted has the power to summon or create any type of plant known or unknown to the Earth. They are also capable of creating various minions from the more dangerous plant species and can use them in battle. Flora Gifted can even use special techniques to protect themselves from harm, much to the surprise of other Gifted. Never underestimate a stubborn plant.
[Summoners] As the name states, Summoner Gifted classes can call upon magical creatures from the Realm of Beast to fight with them or for them. Though not all Gifted summoners can just summon any type of creature, for the beast themselves are highly intelligent and will only serve the ones they deem worthy of their powers. Trials are undertaken to win the creatures favor and only the best have ever won the respect of the more powerful monsters. Though rarely, there are a few chosen Gifted that never had to do the trials and are allowed to call forth whatever they wish from the Realm, being considered highly favored by the Beast as Destined Summoners.
[Toy Mages] While all Gifted are blessed with special powers, some are born with unique abilities that several would blink at. Toy Mages are such Gifted, yet can be just as powerful as some of the stronger classes and are the most sot after by would be tyrants planning world domination. Need a ride? Just pull out whatever HotWheels you want and snap a finger. Boom! Instant vehicle with horsepower and awesome looks. Wanting to conquer your enemies? Dig out all your dust covered Micro machines and action pack figures and, snap! Instant battalion with military or sci-fi grade weaponry.
[Pyros] Born with powers of flame and heat, this class can be one of the deadlier Gifted depending on how one chooses to wield this particular element. A Single Pyro could level a forest if they so wish, or just burn up a neighborhood if they didn't happen to like their neighbors. While most would state that Pyros with hot tempers and fiery personalities are the Gifted to watch out for, its the quiet ones that can simmer silently that should be taken with care. For all it takes is one poke.
[Speedsters] Perhaps the most annoying class to some, Speedsters ability to run at high speeds and fast reactions make them one of the more sturdier Gifted. They also tend to talk quicker, which can be a problem sometimes when their mouth runs faster than their brain. Hence the need for speed at a moments notice. Some Speedsters can form twisters and create gust of winds up to 150 miles per hour behind them, but only after intensive training sessions and shaping their bodies to handle the amount of power require to pull of such maneuvers.
