Chapter 16

"Jocco Unmasked"

Like, I wasn't going to be cut up like a pizza. I had to fight for my life, for Scooby's life, for the lives of…these two guys I have never even met because there was still a lot left to live. Our mindset was just keep him pinned down, but being a clown, he had some tricks up his sleeve. Using whatever strength he had, he pushed all three of us off of him and quickly got to his feet.

"Did you honestly think I would be that gullible?" Jocco laughed, flexing his left muscle. "In fact…I don't even realize my own strength."

Letting out a ferocious yell, Jocco attempted to throw his fist down onto us and as if worse came to worse, the winged minions arrived and started flying in our faces.

"Get off of me, you winged freaks!" Trevor cried, punching and kicking them over and over again. One of them started to sink his teeth into the back of Michael's neck, causing bits of the forever juice to come out of him. "Mike, hold on!"

With Trevor and Mike occupied, Jocco turned all of his attention towards me and Scooby. There was only one way to stop him, we would have to get him out into the open.

Seeing a metal pipe on the ground, I picked it up and began making karate noises to keep him back.

"What is that?" Jocco asked in an unamused tone.

"Karate, you ever hear of it?" I asked.

"Reah, rarate," added Scooby.

But Jocco wasn't done yet, not by a long shot. I then began to notice that he had something in his pocket, something that would involve a level of like…death!

"See how you like this, mortal!" Jocco cried and he pulled out a pistol and fired right at me and Scooby. Yelling, we could only run and try to dodge each shot that was fired at us while at the same time, trying to get more winged freaks off of us and out of our way. "It's a pity that we have to do this the hard way!"

Jocco then began to flick his wrist and from out of nowhere, like we were standing on a pair of beach balls, causing us to lose our balance and falling onto the cold surface. Let me tell you, running around in underpants is something that can be good for little kids, but not for scared adults like me.

"I will get your souls for my master!" Jocco snarled, reaching into his pocket again and threw a pair of daggers at Scooby and me. When that didn't work, he leapt into the air and knowing that he was going to body slam us, we had to get outside as quickly as possible. Seeing the door, we knew that the only way out was through it.

"Scooby, do you see that door?" I whispered, pointing to the door. "When I say run, we run to it and open the door!"

Cocking his gun, Jocco aimed it at the back of us.

"Okay, like run!" I cried and we took off for the door. Jocco attempted to fire, but Trevor and Michael tackled him to the ground, trying to keep him restrained. "Run faster!"

Racing to the door, we could already feel freedom in our grasp! Using whatever strength we had, we attempted to push the door forward, but a bullet from Jocco's gun hit the door.

"Go! We'll hold him off!" Trevor cried, looking over to us and using my shoulder, I managed to push the door open only to be met by several screaming cops, ordering Scooby and me to get down on the ground with my hands and his paws up. Roaring, Jocco pushed off Michael and Trevor and reaching for his gun, opened fire on the approaching police officers led by Agent Gordon.

"You'll never take me alive!" Jocco declared as Agent Gordon ran towards him. In a fit of desperation, Jocco aimed his gun right at Agent Gordon's stomach and opened fire, hitting her in the stomach as she loudly screamed. The force of the blast sent her flying into a wall in like, a way I've never seen it before.

Seeing her on the ground, bleeding from the stomach, was not cool and I wasn't going to take anything.

"You hurt my friend, clown!" I seethed with fury and Scooby also growled menacingly at Jocco. The gun was still in his hand and I could see that his arm was shaking. Suddenly, I then began to notice something on his face, something like if the makeup was just peeling off of him.

"This would never happened," Jocco cried. "If you had never asked for that final request!"

With the guns still drawn on him, Jocco was not going to surrender and he then turned his attention over to me.

"My master needs a soul," he seethed. "So, I will take yours!"

But just as he prepared to pull the trigger, Scooby growled and charged for Jocco, dodging a bullet meant for him. Before Jocco could strike again, Scooby pushed Jocco to the ground and began attacking him. Like, I had never seen Scooby so angry in my life. He had been angry before with those cats on Moonscar Island, but this was different. For a few moments, I could hear the screaming from Jocco and after a moment…like it was quiet. Scooby then got himself off of Jocco and he had what appeared to be a mask in his mouth.

Looking over him, I could see that he had been badly injured, but there was a person under the mask and it was none other than that guy we saw taking pictures of the park before.

"Jack Ramsay!" I gasped as he looked up at me with his bloodied face, knowing he had been defeated and his cover was blown.

"Shaggy!" I heard a voice cry out and it was Fred and Daphne along with Beau, who immediately turned over to his downed partner. "Shaggy, Scooby! You okay?"

"Like yeah, Fred," I said, looking back down at the downed Jack Ramsay. "Can't say the same for him, though."

All of us looked at this crazed dude with suspicion and he was loaded onto a stretcher to be taken to the hospital.

But our main concern was now focused on Agent Gordon as she was also being loaded onto a stretcher, having been shot in the stomach. I then noticed Daphne, wearing her wet and torn business suit, walked over to the situation. Reaching into her torn suit jacket, she pulled out something from her pocket and all we could wonder what she would do to help Agent Gordon's situation.
