CHAPTER FOUR – BEGINNING
Musa was waiting for Stella outside. She had a growing feeling inside her stomach that she was sure no doctor could describe or help. Stella was right; going to races would just bring bad friendships and influence on them. Technically that happened, only Stella was lucky to not find anyone to be attached. Musa shook her head no to herself, "I'm not attached either; it was a crush and now it isn't."
Even she could not believe her own words. Nothing's over; this was just the beginning. Stella, as if knowing what Musa was thinking, came rushing towards her. She believed that Musa must be watched these couple of days, that's why she offered to go to the races in the first place. She knew this was bound to happen so it better be while she's not alone. And maybe she gets a little lucky and gets to punch that helmet guy on the throat. A girl can only dream.
"Sorry, my hair got too messy. I had to run to the bathroom so I could fix it. Bloom likes to play with anything she gets when she's nervous."
Musa stopped her thoughts and looked at Stella smiling. She was so relieved that finally one of the girls knew what was going on in her life. Also, going to the races was inevitable, but having Stella by her side is just the best thing ever.
"It's okay, Stell. I'm so grateful you're coming with me."
Stella was trying to put her helmet on, stopped to look at Musa, "Don't be grateful, you'll have your punishment later when all of this is over."
Okay, thought Musa, not too grateful. "Let's go then?"
Stella nodded and took her place behind Musa. After both of them made sure that everything was good, Musa started the Vespa and now they were on their way. Hopefully nothing bad happens.
"Not to sound like a bitch or something, but what is wrong with those girls? Why are they dressing like that? I can see everything perfectly. I see a lot, Musa."
Even though Stella and the girls used to go to the Red Fountain Races a lot, she still found it amusing how much skin she saw on the girls. They all had the same clothing on, well, not all of them; some wore shorts. This thought made Stella roll her eyes at herself one more time that day.
"Do you know where this guy usually hangs out?"
Musa was scanning the area. When she heard Stella's question, she looked at her friend, shrugging, "I'm not sure, to be honest. I didn't come here after that day I told you. We were seeing each other around town." Stella noticed Musa's blushing, but this time she didn't find it adorable, maybe because she had just found out they were seeing each other, beyond just texting.
"How long?"
"How long what?"
"How long have you been seeing him?"
Now she was definitely going to kill her, "Well, everything happened in the summer."
"SUMMER?" Stella couldn't hold her voice in at this one. All summer! She wasn't in town, since the only time she could see her parents is in the summer; she was with them traveling. But some of the girls were here! Aisha was here! And so were Bloom and Flora!
"You know what? Your punishment is telling this to the girls. Good luck."
Musa bit her lip, she could literally smell the disappointment and despondency in Stella. She had every right. They had promised to each other that no matter what, there won't be any secrets, and if someone is in trouble this means they all are. All for one, one for all.
"I'm so sorry, Stell. Again, I'm so, so sorry."
"Let's just find this guy and later we will be talking about your destiny."
Musa just nodded. She didn't want to push Stella any further; this is already enough. She didn't even have to be here. Musa just wanted to see if that jerk was alive or not. So she can continue to hate him.
"Oh, look who it is! Vecna."
Both Stella and Musa turned to look at the girl addressing Musa as Vecna from Stranger Things. Stella rolled her eyes again. One more eye roll and she would be blind. That must be Fiona; she was nothing special. Stella didn't like addressing people, especially girls, like this, but this girl tried to hurt her best friend. She is nothing special and that's what it is.
"Couldn't find a better pun for Vespa and Musa, huh?"
Stella's question got Fiona's attention, and she turned to look at Stella. Unfortunately for her, there was nothing she could say to Stella. She opened her mouth but couldn't really find any insults that could discomfort Stella. Jokes on you.
"You brought your babysitter? Do I really scare you this much?"
Musa took a step forward, but Stella stopped her. "We're here for a reason, Muse. No fights, no exchanging words."
Musa calmed herself a bit, but Fiona kept throwing words at her. "Where's pretty Vespa?"
"Why don't you just close your mouth and go away? We're here for someone and we'll leave as soon as we see him."
Even though Stella shut Fiona up, she didn't like the fact that she actually told Fiona why they were there. But decided to play along and not to be obvious. So she changed the tactics.
"So why don't you be a good girl and tell us where Riven is?"
Fiona was looking at Stella while furrowing her brows, but after Stella asked the question, she turned to look at Musa, now totally displeased with them being there.
"Why do you want to see him?"
Fiona moved closer to Musa, which caused Stella to push her immediately. She put herself between Musa and Fiona and while still holding her arm, she repeated herself,
"Tell us where Riven is."
Fiona was trying to free her arm but Stella's power was coming from protectiveness she felt for Musa. This girl started all this for Musa. She hurt her first and then led the way to the helmet. That freaking helmet! Normally Stella would not choose violence over conversation. But she was so mad at herself in the first place, how could she never notice what was going on with Musa? She was heartbroken and Stella was all sunshine and rainbow towards her. Stupid, this Fiona girl led her to feel stupid!
"Let go."
Stella let her arm go, but only to say, "If you're not going to be any help, then move. We don't have time for you and your Stranger Things casting."
Fiona's look on Stella was so dark that Musa, to make sure, held Stella's arm like it would be any help. Stella took a step forward, now completely face to face with Fiona.
"If you ever come near my friend, speak of her, look at her, I swear to you that there won't be any TV time for you. You won't have eyes for that."
Fiona tried not to be too obvious about how scared she was but failed.
"Riven didn't come today. Ask his friends, they are over there with the bikes."
Both Stella and Musa looked at the area Fiona was showing with her finger. There were a lot of bikes but no bikers were around. This was odd. Every time Stella was there all the bikers were next to the bikes like protectors. They would've never leave their bikes alone. So why are the bikes without their bikers now?
"Where are the bikers?"
Fiona involuntarily answered Stella's question. "There was an accident on their team. Apparently someone called the cops and now they're dealing with it."
The shock on the girls was so clear when you looked at their faces. They were not supposed to call the cops after they saw a terrible accident area with blood everywhere? Where the hell is this written? Stella wants to read it.
"Who did the accident?" Musa's question was asked in such a low tone that Fiona thought she was answering her own thoughts.
"Riven and," she looked up at Musa, shifting uncomfortably in her place. "Brandon."
"You said Riven is not here, is he hurt?"
"Why do you care about him, Vespa?"
Stella made a sound that Fiona immediately took one more step back from her. What was this girl's deal? Was she a vampire or something? Well can be, she is like a doll and thinking Bella turned out to be perfect after her turn to a vampire makes sense in the situation.
"Watch it." Musa was shocked as well, she never saw Stella this protective and she was glad that she was on her side. God help the others that aren't.
"He's hurt, but not something serious. There was a fight between the bikers of Red Fountain and Andros. They tried to attack one of the group, I mean Riven. But Brandon got there before they could go any further."
Right now, Musa and Stella were thinking about what Fiona said. And Fiona was thinking how on earth she told everything to this girl. Well obviously she liked Stella, a little crush already forming inside of her. But something tells her she's not gay like her. Fiona knows what a lesbian looks like.
"Okay, thank you for that."
"You're welcome, doll." It was Stella's turn to furrow her brows, "You called me a doll?"
Musa cleared her throat and whispered into Stella's ear "She's gay,"
Realization now shinning on Stella's face made Fiona smile, "Well I'm not."
Stella's answer to that erased Fiona's smile just as fast as possible. "But if I were, I'd tell you to be more you if you want me. Not like someone who is trying so hard to be a 'bad girl'. Because you know what? You became a bad person instead. Come now Musa, I hate to be here at nights."
Musa, holding her smile in, just nodded and went after Stella, "Coming."
