Chapter 20
"Where in the World was Reverend Kane?"
So, here we were. We have now come to the end of this first story in our post-Cyber Chase journey. We had survived solving a mystery of a demonic clown capturing souls for a Reverend who was now targeting Daphne's soul. On the plane ride back home, I sat next to Daphne and cradled her as she slept on my shoulder.
"Reverend Kane," I thought to myself. "Let me be perfectly clear about something: you will NEVER have Daphne's soul in your possession. I don't give a damn if you go to the ends of the earth. We will prevail and you will fail!"
I then took another deeper look at Daphne, my beautiful girlfriend that I had dedicated my life to. I have now sworn to protect her from all harm by any means. Seeing her being stalked by a ghost was nothing new to us, but this was different. Daphne was a prone target for Reverend Kane and I looked to see if he was sitting behind her again, but he wasn't.

"Fred looks determined," Velma remarked to Beau, who had turned in his resignation to the FBI shortly before we left. "I still can't believe you resigned."
"I had to, Velma," Beau said. "Nothing at the FBI can replace working alongside Agent Gordon. Besides, I feel as if I need to pick a bone with this Reverend of yours."
"Then maybe perhaps we need to figure out where Reverend Kane is going to go next. I'm even thinking that perhaps Six Flags New Orleans was just the beginning of what is to come. What is it about Reverend Kane that attracts him? It's a mystery to me, Beau."
Beau then looked over to Clarice, who also joined us in our search for Reverend Kane.
"It's a mystery to me too, Velma," sighed Beau. "Until we get our hands on him, this mystery is going remain just that…a mystery."
But Beau couldn't help but feel sort of secure with Velma, but he knew better than to turn his back on Agent Gordon. He still loved her and Velma was just another one of his friends, but there was more to it and it would all be revealed in time.
…
A little while later, we landed and all got into the Mystery Machine, having reflected on this first endeavor. As we drove, I could hear the sounds of Reverend Kane's evil laughter in my head, the same laugh he used when Daphne was being tormented by the alligators.
"YOU'RE GONNA DIE IN THERE! ALL OF YOU! YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" I heard him yell in my head, hoping that this was a premonition that will never come to pass, but it wasn't my call, nor the call of the rest of my team.
We were at war and this was only the beginning of that war…
