Redemption

We can only know so much about a person. And sometimes it's those little facts that make us realize there is more to them that meets the eyes. Let's see what our favorite sunshine boy thinks...

It has been a year since he began school, a year since he met his friends, and this passing year he had gotten to know her. The first time they'd met there had been a misunderstanding over a piece of gum, they made up later that day but he still felt like she wasn't all that comfortable with him after that. She had been a little skittish when ever he approached her, she would grabble up her words rather adorably unable to from a sentence in his presence.

He kind of missed that, but finally getting to talk to her without her getting flustered was great. She bantered with him now! She was witty, funny, and quiet engaging in conversation. He never got board when they talked. He knew he had fallen for her, he didn't know when that began but he knew what he felt.

Adrien smiled as he looked out his window, "what to do?" - he felt as if he had fallen for two girls, but something felt off about that thought. His heart told him that he was falling for one girl, that both Ladybug and Marinette were the same person. He had his doubts though, they were a little different when it came to personality. Boy, he wished there was a way he could find out.

Plagg looked at his holder curiously, "What are you thinking about kid?"

"Who is she, Plagg?" Adrien asked his Kwami curiously with an uncertain tone.

Plagg gave him a sympathetic smile, "I wanna tell you Kid. Trust me, you'll know when you're both ready. I honestly don't think you two are far off from a reveal. You have both grown leaps and bounds since you began this hero thing, and I guess you've both matured over the passing year. From what I've seen, your trust in each other is strong and unbreakable."

"Thanks Plagg. I guess it'll be a wait and see basis till then." He responds smiling as he patted the black cat.

There was a knock on the door, "Adrien, Marinette's here for you."

That was Natalie, his father's assistant. His smile brightened at the thought of the the blue haired girl, he guessed they'd be walking to school today. He'd ask her how she was after the Volpina attack yesterday, he gritted his teeth thinking about what Lila had said about Mari. He let out a breath walking to his door and opening it.

He smiled and nodded, "Thanks Natalie. I'll be walking to school today and to my fencing lessons."

Was that a smile playing on her lips?

"Alright I'll let Gorilla know about this so he can pick you up after fencing." She responds looking at him.

He chuckles, "You know we should really address him by his actual name. I know he is an ex-soldier and that was the codename they gave him back in the barracks but what was his actual name?"

"Alkezar is his name, Adrien. You are right, we should address him in his really name every now and then especially when we're in this house. But in public he'd prefer to be called by his codename." She responds giving him a stern look.

He nods his agreement, "Alright. Better be going, wouldn't want to be late."

She watched as the boy walked to the front door opening it and seeing the great smile that lit up his face at the sight of his best friend. Though she thought Ms. Dupine-Chang was more then that to the boy. She couldn't help but let out a soft smile of her own at the sight of the teen's, she did hope they would find the truth in their hearts soon. She also hoped that Gabriel saw the clear happiness his son now exuded, she knew the man wanted his son to be happy but his neglect wasn't helping matters. She was glad that Marinette, Chloe, and their class were treating Adrien as a normal boy.

Marinette smiles and greets them both politely, "Good Morning Adrien, Ms. Sancoeur! I hope I'm not too early."

"Don't worry Ms. Dupine-Chang you're on time, and if I am not mistaken you'll both still have an hour before classes starts." She tells them.

Adrien chuckles, "Alright let's head to school. It'd be nice to have an hour to relax in the room for once."

Marinette giggled grabbing his hand and pulling him out of the door, Natalie chuckled to herself as both teens waved her farewell from the gate and she returned their wave. She shook her head and went to notify Alkezar about Adrien's plans for the day. She was glad that Gabriel finally realized he was suffocating the boy and took off some his extra daily activities, as well as lessening his modeling gigs. She had been pestering him about those for years!

Meanwhile, our young teen heroes were walking their way to Du Ponte. Laughing as they were reminiscing some of the fun they've had the past year.

"How were you after attack yesterday Mari? Did she get you?" Adrien asks eyes filled with concern for his friend.

She shakes her head and smiles, "I'm fine, thank you. I am thankful that Chloe and the rest of our class stood up for me. I am bit surprised with Chat Nior's statement about me, I didn't he thought that highly of me."

"Well, he wasn't wrong. You have helped him out before haven't you?" Adrien says smiling at her.

She flushed a bit, "Well... there was stint with the Evillustrator, then Kwami Buster, and Waredad. Waredad was my fault though, I kind of thought that Chat found out something about me and panicked."

"You were stuck in box with him during Evillustrator right?" He asked faking curiousity.

She nods sending him a look, "Yeah..."

Adrien realized that she had known how to use Chat's baton in that situation. His mind started wondering off again to that moment, how was she able to do that?

"Hey Mari..." He says trailing off.

Marinette looked at him curiously, "What's got you thinking, Sunshine?"

"How did you know how his baton worked in that moment?" He asked deciding that an honest question would be better then beating around the bush.

She hid the smile on her face, "Well, it took awhile to figure out that bit. But I guess watching how Ladybug would sometimes use it in their battles helped me a little. I think it was mostly luck for me."

Tikki had to giggle at Mari's little lie, it was great reason but both knew that it had been partly her Ladybug side at work that time as well. Of course, they had to avoid anyone connecting that moment to her actually being Ladybug.

"That makes sense." Adrien responds after some thought his suspensions abated for now.

Plagg chuckled in his holder's pocket, not that said boy knew. He had to applaud Mari's diversionary reasoning, it wasn't a lie but it was not the full truth either. When the time is right... he had to speak to Tikki.

Kwami Telepathy

Plagg: Hey there Sugarcube.

Tikki: Hey Stinky Sock! What's up?

Plagg: The sky duh...

Tikki: What do you wanna talk about?

Plagg: I think we should break the forth wall.

Tikki: I spoke to Marinette about that last night, actually we spoke with Chloe about it...

Plagg: So Queen Bee knows who Ladybug is?

Tikki: She found out accidentally Plagg, she saw Marinette's transformation fall after Kingpin. She told Mari the next day.

Plagg: At least Ms. Socialite knows how to keep a secret. Then again, I sensed a great Change I'm after she got Akumatized with the Bee.

Tikki: Back to our holders. Yes, I think they are ready to know each other's identities. They've matured way faster then our other holders have. Plus, it'd make it easier for them to communicate with each other.

Plagg: I feel something is coming Sugarcube...

Tikki: I feel it too, it brings such a foreboding atmosphere. I feel we need to consult Master Fu about forming a team. We need help, Mari and Adrien can only do so much but they are human after all."

Plagg: That's true. Is it safe to say that your holder will recruite Chloe as a holder then?"

Tikki: Yes. We need a main team of five, they will be permanent holders. A few will be temporary ones of course, they will be used an auxiliary force just in case the battles get harder.

Plagg: Sounds like a plan.

Tikki: Alright. We'll continue this conversation at a later date.

Plagg: Alright...

End

With that done we go back the thier holders. Both teens were conversing about yesterday's events, that Akuma.

"The nerve of her... calling you a bully! That is the most absurd thing I've ever heard. You would never hurt anyone like that." Adrien says running his hands over his hair showing his clear anger at the Italian's accusation.

Mari smiled sweetly at him taking one of hands and squeezing it, "Thanks Adrien! The people who know me the most know the truth and that is all that matters. Besides the way Alya replied to her accusation was also very telling."

They hear the said aspiring reporter's voice approach them, "Of course it was Mari. No one shall drag my bestie's name in the mud when I'm around. And the rest of our class will stand of our Everyday Ladybug."

"You've got that right Alya! Besides those accusations were ridiculous, utterly ridiculous. Honestly, we should watch her from now on though. She's got it in for Mari, she's worse then I ever was." Chloe says as she went down from her limo.

Nino nods thinking, "We will Chloe. I wonder what her problem is though."

"I've met people like her in my old school. She's relying on her lies to manipulate us into turning on one of our own. She's vindictive towards Mari because our girl can see through her lies, she didn't count on how wary our class was of those kind of people." Alya explains after a thought.

Mari shakes her head, "Her bark is worse then her bite thankfully."

"Mari that's insulting to female dogs! Don't compare her to them. She's a hyena!" Chloe deadpans trying not to smirk.

Alya scoffs trying not to laugh, Adrien and Nino had no quams and laughed loudly, Mari and Sabrina giggled at the blond girl's comparison.

Sabrina recovered first, "She's right. Dogs can't lie but she is as two faced as a snake."

"Maybe we should warn the teachers about her. I know Mr. Domcals would believe us, so will Madame Busier." Adrien suggests as they walk to their classroom.

Nino nods, "Good idea dude."

They still had an hour til class began so they sat on random tables and continued talking.

"I was thinking..." Chloe begins pausing.

Alya rose a brow, "What?"

"Would you and the girls want to sleepover at my place this weekend?" The blonde girl continues rather apprehensively.

This startled Alya, who was understandably surprised by the invite. Julika and Rose happened to arrive at that moment and reacted similarly to Alya.

It was Rose who recovered first and went up to hug Chloe, "I know I'd love to, but I can't speak for the others. I'm glad to see you back to your old self before you and Mari fell out."

"I'd like to go as well. Despite what you've done to most of us in the past, I'm ready to rebuild the bridge after seeing how hard your trying to make it up to most of us." Julika says meekly a small smile gracing her face.

Alya chuckled to herself, "I'm still getting used to the new you, Chloe. But I'd love to spend sometime with you and get to know you better."

"See! I told you they'd be alright with it. But I understood your uncertainty." Mari says smiling at her friends. She knew Alix as Mylene would be on board as well.

Sabrina squealed excitedly, "Yey! We finally get to bond with each other. I'm glad Chloe can finally get to open up to others and is showing her real self again."

"With a slight push to the right direction we can always change our ways." Adrien points out grinning at both Chloe and Mari.

"All it took was a session with a superhero and a trip down memory lane with an old friend..." Says Chloe throwing a subtle wink Mari's way.

Mari giggles and shrugs, "Those and a little bit of magic."

Adrien thought there was a hidden message in what they were saying, like a little secret in between the lines. His curiousity piqued, but he'd question them about it later on. He planed on visiting his blue haired friend as Chat later on her balcony, he knew she wouldn't mind but she'd be surprised...

Later that day

Chat was on Patrol tonight, as Ladybug had the night off today he had this shift solo. Paris at night was truly beautiful, the city was teeming with it's night life scenes, the buildings lit to the very top. He had one destination on his mind though, and that was TS Bakery. He wanted to check on Marinette, as he landed on her balcony the hatch leading to her bedroom opened to reveal the blue haired baker's daughter who smiled brightly at him.

"Chat Nior! What brings you to our humble abode?" She greets coming up and sitting on one of the folding chairs.

He chuckles, "Just doing my job princess. LB told me about the false being after you yesterday and I was a little concerned about that. This fake fox seems to have something against you."

"Perhaps she's a little bitter about getting caught out lying to people. I outted one of her lies once and our class was a bit wary of her after she claimed to be LB's bestie." She explained.

Chat nods, "That what LB and a few others told me. The lady blogger did say that Ms. Rossi is a sly little person. Though no one put up with her claims about you being a bully either."

"I'll have to thank you for that Chat, you were one the people who defended me when she sprouted those accusations against me. As far as she's concerned Lila can go bury her head in the sand." Marinette replies smiling happily.

Adrien had laugh openly at this, "Nice to know you've got a sense of humor there Princess. But you do have point about her. I'm glad you aren't taking the bait."

"Look at you, calling me Princess. I thought the only lady in your heart was Ladybug." She teased with a raised brow.

He flushed but then smirked, "She maybe the lady of my heart, but you are still my Princess. You may not be a damsel but every girl needs a knight to be their protector every once in while, right?"

"I can't argue with that. But I'd say you're a classic romanic kitty cat." She says impishly.

He chuckles no denying the fact, "I suppose I am. Well, I better head on home, wouldn't want to be late for school tomorrow."

"The travesty of a double life. Average teen by day, super hero by night. Never missing the action where ever you go. Alright then, thanks for stopping by to check on me Chat." Marinette says smiling at the hero.

He smiled nodding to himself, "Not a problem Marinette. I'll always make time for a friend. If you ever need to chat just call me."

"I might take you up on that offer." She says.

She watched as he used his baton to leap off to the night sky. She smiled to herself as she thought of how to tell him about the reveal. She thought back to her conversation with Adrien that day, and her conversation with Chat just now. She though of how similar their tones were, her mind turned at the the mere possibility that they were one person.

Same blonde hair

Same green eyes

Similar sense of humor

And both boys had really questionable situations at home...

'What if?' - she thought to herself has the possibilities rushed in her mind. She really hoped that she hadn't fallen for the same boy twice because that would be the biggest irony she'd ever face in her life.

Little did she know... a certain blonde haired model was thinking the same thing. He had called off his transformation upon landing on the carpeted floor of his room. He gave his Kwami a look, "If I fell for the same girl twice that'd make me the luckiest guy in the world..."

While both of them shared this hopeful though, "I hope it is him/her..."

That concludes Volume One of my Miraculous Tales series! Wow, it took us a long time to get here but we got here eventually. I've been making several Pokemon fan fictions lately, as a dedication to the end of Ash's Journey and a beginning of a new era in the Anime. As for my Miraculous Tales I'll be continuing on to the second book of the series. Which is aptly titled: Revelations.
