Station Square (Night)

Kirby was by no means a genius. This was the same being that released Nightmare from the Fountain Of Dreams, after all. But even he knew that there was something off going on.

When he woke up, he was on a street similar to the ones he'd seen in the Forgotten Land and Shiver Star. Trucks and cars surrounded him, all of them honking their horns and blinding him with their headlights. When his vision adjusted, he could see skyscrapers and a bunch of colorful lights. But what surprised him most was the presence of humans. The only human he ever met was Adeleine. Maybe they were friends of her's?

After a few moments, men in black uniforms arrived at the scene. "What is that thing?" one of them asked, confused at the sight of Kirby.

"Looks like a pink marshmallow." another answered, just as baffled.

"A marshmallow?" the first man said, still unsure of what he was looking at.

"Well, whatever it is, we better get it out of here." the second man decided. He knelt down to Kirby to address him directly. "Hey, cutie, wanna ride with us down to the station?"

The Pink Demon tilted his head, confused. Was there a Warp Star nearby?

"Should I call for backup?" the first man asked.

"I have three kittens at home. I think I can handle this." his partner answered, a smile on his face. Kirby didn't respond, walking away from the two humans.

"Still think you can handle this?" the first man asked, grinning.

"You're not getting away from me!" the second man shouted, running towards Kirby. But with a simple jump, the puffball avoided him.

"Why you little-" the first man said, getting out a black stick.

"Take it easy." an older man with a mustache said. He also wore the black uniform. "I think we can handle this without getting rough."

"Yeah, but, Sa-" the first man tried to say before getting cut off.

"Duffy, get behind him." the mustached man said.

"Right, Sarge." the second man, now known as Duffy, said.

"Okay, now when I say the word, we're all gonna jump him at once." the mustached man said. "All right, is everyone ready? NOW!"

They all lunged forward, only for Kirby to Dodge Roll out of the way. As a result, all of the men only ended up grabbing eachother. Seeing this from the top of a nearby car, Kirby laughed. He stopped laughing however, when a net was thrown over him.

"Don't worry, Sarge! I got him!" one of the uniformed men said, holding tightly onto the net. Annoyed, Kirby floated up and caused the man to fall to the ground. Once he let go, the puffball let out an Air Bullet, tearing the net apart. When he fell toward the pavement, he landed onto a small, empty car. This sparked an idea within Kirby's mind. With a quick Inhale, he became Car-Mouth Kirby and drove away.

"Attention all units!" the mustached man said into his radio. "A pink car is headed north on Central Street! Shut down all thoroughfares leading into and out of Station Square and set up a roadblock just before the on-ramp to 101!"

Kirby eventually found himself on a highway, speeding down an empty road. Or, so he thought. After a bit of driving, he could see a roadblock in the distance. So, he did the only thing that made sense. He crashed through it, breaking apart several police cars in the process.

A half-hour passed, and there was nothing else trying to chase him. As of now, this was nothing more than a leisurely nighttime cruise. The sky reminded him of the sky back on Planet Popstar, only less colorful. It made him wonder. Were any of his friends here with him, or was he alone? Not that it really mattered. Magolor or Elfilin would find him with their powers eventually. Right?

He was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of sirens blaring. Five red and white cars drove up to him, and from one of them, a orange-haired man in a red jumpsuit walked out. "You're a tough guy to keep up with." the man said. "We don't get such fast company very often. In fact, I'm glad you showed up. This place is way too peaceful. Over the last 12 months, I've only made one arrest. Some joker got it into his head that he was a hotshot driver. Had his own Formula One car and everything. I guess he thought he'd give me a run for my money. But was all over in a minute. It took me longer than that to suit up. He never had a chance. Of course, it's our own fault. This town's dull mainly because of us. You see, we're the high-speed pursuit unit. The S-Team. And I'm the leader of the team. They call me the Highway Star. So even if you think you're the fastest thing around, think again."

Kirby understood almost nothing about that. But he did get that this guy was very proud of his speed. But he'd never raced against Car-Mouth Kirby before. Excited, the puffball sped down the highway, closely followed by the S-Team. Using Turbo Dash, Kirby barely outsped the other cars, but he couldn't keep up this kind of pace forever. Then, like a miracle, something familiar appeared in the road.

An Invincibility Candy.

Just as he made contact with it, Kirby's speed skyrocketed, immediately breaking the car's limits and causing the engine to explode. The blast caused Kirby to be sent flying into the distance, unable to control his flight path.

Thorndyke Mansion (Night)

Chris Thorndyke woke up to the sound of something crashing into water. Curious, the boy rushed downstairs and exited through the backdoor and to the pool. What he found was completely unexpected. He'd assumed a wild animal had accidentally gotten into the pool, like a cat or a raccoon. He never once considered a pink, spherical being floating face-down in the water.

Without thinking, Chris jumped into the pool and dragged the pink being out. It soon regained consciousness, coughing up water.

"That was close, are you okay?" Chris asked.

"Yeah." Kirby said, surprising the boy.

"I didn't think you could talk." the human said.

"I can do a lot of things!" the alien said cheerfully.

"Wow. My name's Christopher. Do you have a name?" Chris asked.

"Yeah! I'm Kirby!" the puffball said with a smile.

Kirby

Planet Popstar's faithful hero. He might be a bit small, but that's never stopped him from protecting his home with his versatile Copy Ability. Over the years, he's gained many friends and enemies. Maybe they'll appear in this story.

Car-Mouth Kirby

After being sucked through the rift that led to the Forgotten Land, Kirby gained the power to Inhale objects much larger than himself. The first one he used was the Car-Mouth Ability. He can drive right over enemies with his Turbo Dash, as well as uncovering secrets hidden behind thick walls.

S-Team

A group of talented drivers that serve as law enforcement when it comes to speed-related crime in Station Square. Their leader, while a bit arrogant, was able to give Car-Mouth Kirby a run for his money. We haven't seen the last of him.

Invincibility Candy

A mysterious lollipop that makes the eater completely invulnerable for a few seconds. How did it get to this world?

Chris Thorndyke

The only child of the Thorndyke household. He was raised rich, but doesn't seem too happy. How will Kirby impact his life?
