I want to thank you all who give this story a chance. It is something of an experiement and an idea I've had kicking in my head for all of a day now. Wanted to get it on paper before I lost interest. Something to also tide my long term readers while I work on getting the next chapter out on A Metal Guardian.
Temple of Time Ars Paulina
Ritsuka had been many things over the course of his life. Mamma's boy. Flunky. Most recently Master Candidate, and then Master for well over a hundred Servants within Chaldea. Though at his core, he was a caring and kind young man who looked out for those around him. Perhaps that was what had started his relationship with Elizabeth, the pintsized Dragon, Vampire, Dutchess had been drawn to him. She'd been abusive sure at first, but they had really strengthened their bonds. And he loved her, and she him.
So perhaps that was the reason that, as he watched in slow motion, Goetia swing his hand down towards the disoriented Mash, he felt compelled to try and help. Though the smarter side, after seven singularities, told him to have more self preservation. However, perhaps due to the lengths of these thoughts, something broke within.
His foot moved forward, much to his own shock, though his eyes never left Mash, even as, his vision became cloudy, and tinged with red. A foul scent filled his nostrils, burning flesh. Ah, he had pushed Mash out of the way. Even as his body became engulfed in fire and lightning, he heard none of it.
His eyes locked with Mashus as she looked on in horror, likely no doubt because he had just taken a strike, but also likely because, if he was being honest, he was likely to die. Yet, he couldn't find it in himself to frown or scream. Perhaps the pain was to much, as he watched his arms raise as he is flung back, the fist having struck him in the center of the chest.
Most of the flesh from his right arm was gone, reduced to chalky ash, his exposed bones melting, while the other was a mash of pulped gore and viscera.
Then time sped up, as did the pain, as he went flying, his chest glowing as a result of the build up on the attack that had been meant for Mash. As his back struck the ground, he detonated in a fiery explosion. Yet, even as his eyes burst from the shockwave, he heard it. A deep voice, echoing in his mind as time seemed to slow. That and a second voice echo in horror and loss.
= How Trifling =
"SENPAI!"
Elizabeth snapped her head up with a look of horror as she stopped focusing on the Demon Pillar she and several others had been facing. After all, she'd heard the sound of Mash'es wail of agony as she watched her Master, Her Manager, the one whom had set her heart a flutter with happiness despite the blood drenched heritage her name came with, strike the ground and then detonate.
"Ritsu!"
It was mirrored by the other Servants within ear shot, mainly the alters. Yet as a beam of magical energy lashed out, she barely paid it any mind. Her eyes locked solely to the mushroom cloud that completely obscured her Master and the man whom she'd promised herself she'd one day take as a husband.
Tears slipped from her eyes as she broke into a maddening sprint towards the edge, though her way was blocked by another Daemon Pillar. It seemed to mock her as, in her maddened grief, she flung herself at the daemon. With a shrill roar that soon transformed into a billowing pillar of draconic flame, its beam met the devastated Lancer.
She continued to pump more energy into the attack, even as she fought to close the distance. Others were attempting to do the same. She watched the maddened servant of Hercules break into almost a feral rush towards the cloud. Only to be intercepted by hordes of lesser beasts. It was as if their enemy wished them to watch the Last Master die.
Yet, even through the madness that gripped her, something tickled the back of the more analytical minds within the formation of Servants, that they hadn't yet disappeared.
Even as Mash herself, in a rage not seen since the first meeting with Lancelot, threw herself and battered or attempted to batter Goetia, another sound soon joined the din of fighting. Steadily growing louder and starting to drown out even the conflict and the rage of servants such as Kiyohime and the various Elizabeths on the field.
The sound of a Beating Heart.
Mashu's back smashed into a wall, bloodied, beaten, and wounded. Goetia had been toying with her, he'd been toying with them all since the start. She could feel through the shared link as servants are forced to their knees by the combined power of the Daemon Pillars and that of his attacks and sapping of their spirit graphs.
"Resistance, a Flaw of Mortality. You can't begin to understand my methods. Give up, and allow your end to come."
Though, even with the mortal and their summoned protectors beaten and bloodied, something gnawed at the spawn of Solomon. The rhythmic beating had only grown higher. Even when the King of Heroes had attempted to strike at him, it only grew louder. Once again, the Shielder was weakened, ready to fall.
With hand drawn back, he prepared to end her, and Humanities last stand. Yet something stopped him.
A wash of Prana rolled across him, before the mushroom cloud that had been created with the death of the Last true Human outside of that insect hole of Chaldea, shifted something reached through.
Charcoaled flesh and melting bone gripped him by the hand, holding it. Yet as his head turned to look down at the dying mortal….He felt fear truly for the first time.
Most of the Things Body was covered in charcoal like skin, exposed bone no better or outright melting from the extreme heat it was exposed to. One eye completely gone, hair burned away, lower jaw hanging off as the tendons around the left side had been flash burned and letting it hang. Part of the skull exposed. Yet, the walking corpse, with strength far beyond what even a mortal at their prime possessed, held his arm back.
Then it spoke, and the world went runny around the edges. As though something not of this reality was attempting to push itself through. Something Wrong Something Wrong SomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrongSomethingWrong
With far more strength then should be allowed, the Beast is suddenly twisted and thrown down. The sound of wet flesh crunching as his back strikes one of the Pillars and cleaves it in half. Looking down, feet colliding with the ground again, he spies the remainder of the arm locked to his bicep, fingers digging into the flesh. Taking hold of it, The Beast would tear it off and toss it aside, looking up.
"You are not…"
Conversation was cut short as the Thing before him erupted again, kicking off the ground with enough force that both legs shattered at the knee, yet, rather than blood, a blossoming of ivory scales erupted from the wounds. Even the arm, now missing, was being replaced. A fist is drawn back, from both, before they collide. The initial impact pulverizing the last Master's arm, before it suddenly erupts in a torrent of red lightning, and expands, and grows.
Soon, a massive ivory white scaled claw with yellowed claws comes careening down, colliding with the Beast and sends him cashing into a wall.
For the rest of the field of conflict, all of it had ceased, watching in both horror and confusion as their Master hovered in mid air. Body rapidly going through alterations. The rhythmic thumping of a heart, far to large for a body, echoing in their ears before the eviscerated corpse rears its head back and releases a roar that should not have come from a human throat, before being engulfed in red lightening and a billowing tornado which completely obscured his form from view.
The White God: Frontier Addition
That roar, it drove many servants to their knees, though those standing felt their hearts rapidly thumping within chest. One thing in common within each of these individuals.
Dragon.
Sieg, Elizabeths, Tiamat, Artorias, Oberon, Shuten, Mélusine.
They all felt their blood boil and their hearts resound as they looked up towards the ever growing swirling maelstrom of winds. Cracks and Peals of Crimson Lightning spread across the sky, crashing into Daemon God Pillars or Monsters. It was slowly swallowing up the central mass of the Temple of Time. The energy output was rapidly rising as the clashes of lightening only increased and struck the ground.
Elizabeth however, wasn't distracted. Saber, Lancer, Caster. The various and myriad of her, raged. They zeroed in on the recovering King of the Demon Gods. Though, even as they neared, his hand snapped up, gripping the air and clenching. With something akin to impotent rage, they felt their connections nearly shattered, before a burst of Prana rushed to the servants, overcoming Goetia's own attempt at desummoning them.
Then. It Emerged.
With wings suddenly billowing out, the ivory scaled wings of what could only be mistaken for a Dragon blew away the smoke. Revealing a great dragon. Almost as large as Fafnir. The sweeping mane of hair running along the lower throat as well as the back along its tail, gave it a majestic and regal appearance.
Though it radiated so much energy, that the Temple of Time's edges were starting to break down. Then, it opened its mouth. Wisps of flame start build as its chest expands, bright red light glowing, even as the Beast Servant Recognized what it was attempting.
Energy gathered within his body as the Demon Gods attempted to intercept. Yet the distraction, it gave the other Servants the chance to recover and begin driving them back again. Even as both primary combatants charged, another Dragon joined the fray. Seig, summoning forth his Noble Phantasm, shed his form, as energy burned through his veins. Once more becoming the same dragon, Fafnir.
There was a billowing roar as the ground turned into an inferno of fighting. Noble Phantasms and the Demon God's own attacks.
Then, the Master of Mankind's destruction met the Dragon Who Heralds a New World. Breath and Magic smashed into one another in a dazzling display. He was Goetia, Mankind's greatest magical achievement. Yet, in a way, that made him weaker to the thing which now fought him. Which had finally possessed the soul that it had slumbered within.
For what good is Mankind's greatest magic, when its natural predator stood before it?
This was a world with what possessed Conceptual Advantages.
This creature, this Draconic Monster, alone, that would put it in a weight class eclipsing anything that was humanity outside of the rarest of individuals.
Yet, this one example, was a monster on a scale and rank far exceedingly even that of others. Slowly, Goetia's attack was being pushed back. It felt that conceptual advantage growing incredibly against it. Eyes locked as the blast of Draconic fire overcame that which Man had striven to build.
With a swirling maelstrom of chaotic energy, Dragon, Energy, the world started to break down. Though, even as the strange and otherworldly energy tore at his body, mankind's ultimate creation rebelled at being defeated.
With a rolling laugh, it vanished, though, if it was dead or not, was unknown.
And that is all she wrote.
I want to thank you all for your patience, I know the next chapter of AMG has taken a long time, I've been swamped with work and been unable to really work on it. I had today off and decided to make this in about two hours. With work stabilizing now, I should be able to do this for that story.
I also wanted to make a few one shot, but potentially continue should the readers like the story.
If you can't understand what is happening.
Simple.
Ritsuka went through the events of Fgo up till this point, but upon the final confrontation, is technically killed, but is revealed his soul has been harboring another wordly resident. The White Fatalis.
Should this story get some interest, I might write slice of life in a post singularity where Ritsuka, or Gudako, has to deal with a Dragon in their head, and potentially more.
Song is White Fatalis Theme: Monster Hunter Frontier edition.
Please leave a review, let me know how you guys found the story! First time writing a Fate Fic.
