here is day seven, i hope you enjoy.

-Aww, You Didn't Have to get me a Gift-

Jack had been a guardian for about two thirds of a year. As such, this was his first Christmas with the guardians. He had been excited since Easter, when he became one of them. Now, he could barely wait for Christmas.

Yet, as December had gone on, the guardians had seemed to withdraw from him. It was now December 24th, and it seemed he had (once again) only the wind to celebrate with. Currently they were flying above the state of Minnesota, where he had brought a large snowfall the previous week. He had even earned the kids a snow day, letting them out a day early for their break.

It was beginning to get dark when Jack saw the familiar streams of Sandy's dream sand flying through the sky. Looking around, Jack saw Sandy on his cloud a few feet above him.

"Hey, Sandy!" Jack called as he flew up to his level. "How's it going?"

Sandy looked up from his work, and looked at Jack, giving him a smile. 'Hi, Jack.' He signed, 'I'm good. The kids are a little harder to get to sleep tonight, they are excited that North will be coming.'

"I see." Jack nodded. "Hey, what do you guys do for Christmas?" he tried to keep the longing look off of his face.

'We normally have a party, I thought North told you.' Jack had been getting good at reading and understanding Sandy's signs.

"Oh, ok."

'Why don't you come with me, Jack,' Sandy signed. 'We'll arrive together, I just need to finish my work, and we need to let North finish delivering presents before we can celebrate.'

Jack gave Sandy a big smile. "Thank you," he said as he glanced off the edge of Sandy's cloud.

Sandy smiled and continued sending dream sand around the city. Dolphins and unicorns flew through the air as they made their way to the kids they were intended for.

Jack had always loved watching the sand, whenever he was in the same place as Sandy over the years, he always stopped to watch.

After they had been working for an hour —or at least Sandy was working, Jack was just watching the sand as it spiraled away— they had made it into Wisconsin. As they were drifting above a small town, North flew past, giving them a wave.

"I'm almost done." he called to them as he continued on his way.

Sandy looked at Jack, 'We are almost done, too. I just need to finish this town and we can head for the pole.'

"Ok." Jack said, his voice rising in excitement.

After only ten minutes, Sandy tapped Jack's back to get his attention. 'Hold on.' He signed as the cloud of sand became a two person plane. 'It's time to meet up with the others at North's workshop.'

Jack's face was split with a smile. "Ready to go, Sandy!"

As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Sandy urged the plane forward, towards the north pole. The trip didn't take long, Sandy had them flying quicker than the wind had ever carried Jack.

Tooth and Bunny were already in the workshop when Jack and Sandy joined them. Tooth was talking rapidly to a small group of fairies, with Baby Tooth next to her. Bunny was leaning against a pillar, holding an egg in one hand and a paintbrush in the other.

Tooth saw Jack first. "Jack!" she called as she flew up to him and gave him a big hug. "I'm so glad you made it!"

"Me too, Tooth." Jack responded with a smile as she went to greet Sandy. "Nice to see you too, Bunny." he called down.

Bunny nodded. "One second, Frostbite." he said, continuing to paint the egg. Once he finished, he looked up to Jack. "Sorry, I had to finish that egg before it dried. Are you going to come down here anytime soon?"

"Sure." Jack said as he let himself fall from the air. Right before he hit the floor, though, he created a snow drift and landed safely. The only harm done was a light coating of the snow on Bunny from Jack's impact.

Bunny shook himself thoroughly. "North is going to be annoyed if he gets back to see snow all over his workshop," he said pointedly after he removed all the snow from his fur.

Jack waved his staff and the wind took the snow outside through the window he had come in.

Sandy came up to Jack, holding two glasses of eggnog, offering one to him. 'Try it, North's yetis make the best eggnog.'

"Thanks, Sandy." Jack said as he took the offered glass.

Before he could try it, North exited the elevator, smiling and laughing.

"Perfect timing, North!" Tooth exclaimed, "I just saw the head chef yeti at the door."

They all looked over to the doorway, where indeed a yeti with a chef's hat was waiting with a tray of food. Behind it they could see more yetis with food.

North nodded at the chef. "Go ahead." he said as he joined the other four guardians. Looking at Jack, he spoke. "Jack, as this is your first Christmas with us, and we know you've been on your own for 300 years, we wanted to get you something."

Jack's eyes widened. "You guys got me a gift?" he asked incredulously.

"We thought it was high time you got something for Christmas." Bunny said, Sandy and Tooth nodding along with him.

North handed Jack a small-ish box covered in icy blue wrapping paper.

Jack ripped the paper off, and opened the box inside. He pulled out a new hoodie, solid blue like his current one, but around the cuffs and waistband was fine embroidery. Jack lifted the hoodie closer to see that the embroidery read 'guardian' over and over.

"Thank you." Jack said, looking from North to Bunny and Tooth and Sandy.

They all smiled. "You earned it," North said, "I'm glad you like it."

As he held the hoodie, frost crept up the cuffs and waistband, but instead of hiding the embroidery, it accentuated it.

Jack looked from the new hoodie to the old hoodie, now matching from the frost, and laughed, the other guardians joining in.
