Chapter 1 Remnant Ruby in earth
Ruby was still sleeping but it wasn't that long, she hears her teammate Weiss telling her to wake up, Ruby didn't want to get out of bed but she remembers that time her older sister Yang drag her out of bed, Ruby rub her eyes trying to wake up, as she open her eye she look at Weiss, Ruby stopped in her place seeing her friend Weiss wearing a different uniform well it might look similar to the Beacon uniform but they are very noticeable differences Ruby stopped and looked at her.
"Did they change the uniforms a little bit." Said Ruby giving a questionable face
team WBY looked at Ruby confused what she said, Ruby older sister Yang told her that the Academy never change it always been the same thing, Ruby thinks about it and thinks maybe it's just in her head when she got out of bed she realize that the room was a lot different than usual, for instants the homemade bunkbeds that the team made are actually now bunkbeds, Ruby even grow even more confused she looked around and sees other things different, the room looks a lot different than usual, although it was the same size as she remembered the furniture and now there are new things that she don't remember having in there dorms, everything looks so different.
The three teammates looked at their leader wondering what is going on, why is she so shocked, why is she so confused, she always been in this room since they first arrived in the academy. Ruby looked around and she looked back at her teammates not only the room is different but her teammates look very different than usual. All of them are wearing the slightly different uniform but their style is different similar but very different, Weiss ponytail is no longer on the side but instead on the back like a normal ponytail but the shocking part is Weiss hair, she does have the white but the tip and the hair closer to her head are brown. It looks like Weiss dyed her hair, Yang looks similar but like Weiss, yang hair looks different her is still blonde but it has brown highlights, here comes the shocking part Blake although She has some similar appearance that Ruby remembered, the big difference is that she isn't wearing her bow instead she's wearing a black beanie.
"Blake what happened to your bow, why did you replace it with a beanie now?"
Blake gave an Odd expression from the response from ruby, Ruby explained more that she always wears a bow every single day, Blake grows even more confused she began to walk towards the cabinet and pulled out a bow but it isn't the same bow she always wears, it's smaller but yet it's a clip instead of a wrapping bow.
"Ruby you do know I wear this on special occasions but I don't wear it every single day." Said Blake
Ruby was shocked she knows the reason why Blake always wears a bow to hide her cat ears for no one to knows she's a Faunus.
"But…. but….. but what about your cat ears?"
The whole room went silent until yang walked towards her sister and put her hand on her for head to check if she's getting sick.
"Sis you're not having a fever so you're perfectly fine." Said Yang
"I'm not getting sick and I know that Blake is a cat Faunus, we all know that, Blake take off your beanie." Said ruby
Blake looked at her but she removed her beanie revealing to have no cat ears, ruby's eyes widen and her jaw hanging in complete shock, WBY looked at her until Blake ask ruby a question.
"Ruby what's a Faunus?"
Ruby was still incomplete shocked, she always knows that Blake is a cat Faunus and always has cat trace, this is making her so confused Blake is human not a Faunus, Ruby was still standing still not saying a single word, Weiss got tired of it and snapped her fingers in front of Ruby getting her to regaining her focus. Ruby explain what is a Faunus and what they're going through, The civil right movement, the white fang, all of it. The whole room went silent Ruby looked at her three teammates waiting for an answer about the situation.
After a while yang was the first one to break the silence out of burst of laughter, Blake was chuckling and Weiss was smiling trying her best not to laugh but you can tell she is not happy with this. Ruby stood there tilted her head like a dog in confusion, Yang walked up to her little sister putting her arm over her shoulder still laughing.
"Haha Boy sis ever since we start watching anime you've been getting a whole lot of ideas, I mean just because we saw brand new animals and Beastars that's a nice creative way and you're saying Blake is one of them, come to think of it I actually do see Blake like a cat." Said Yang still laughing
Blake immediately stop laughing and gave Yang a glare.
"Just because I have a cat back home doesn't mean I'm a cat."
"Yes it does you totally act like a cat."
"No because is completely ridiculous!"
"Admit it you're definitely a cat, you may disagree with it, you were chasing a laser beam when we first came here ahah."
"I THOUGHT IT WAS A BUG!"
"Yeah or a new cat toy Ah ah."
"They can't be serious arguing right now about this. Said Weiss who stop smiling and Face palm.
Yang walked up to a little sister and ask her what kind of animals would she be, Ruby was still shocked and yet this was not the response she thought she was getting, A couple minutes have passed send everyone stop laughing and the argument calm down, Ruby continue explaining what happened and why does everything look so different, like usual they all look confused until one thing pop up into ruby's mind.
"Our weapons what happened to our weapons?!"
She ran around the whole room trying to find her Crescent rose but is no longer there she search around violently, she got worried of her weapon it's terrifying to see a panic Ruby.
"WHERES MY BABY, WHERES CRESCENT ROSE!"
Big sister instinct came in on Yang, she ran towards ruby comforting her like a mother protecting her child. Ruby started to get sad questioning where's her weapon, Blake and Weiss were shock by ruby, the happy and hipper girl is now a sad and depressed girl. Ruby looked at her older sister asking what happened to crescent rose, Yang looks at her Younger sibling petting her head, Yang got up, picking up ruby until she stands, She walked towards the table next to the window show a Crystal rose on a pot, ruby was confused.
"You see Ruby it's still here, ever since mom died you always been taking care of it ever since, it would be devastated if we find out it's broken. Said Yang"
"This belongs to my mom." As ruby in shock of what she's hearing.
"Yep she gave this to you before she went to Iraq and well you know that part. Uncle Crow actually helped you and teach you how to clean it properly for you won't break it." Said Yang
The whole room went silent until Weiss broke it by making a fake coughed to get the two sisters attention.
"I don't want to be that type of person but we only got a couple of minutes left before We be late for breakfast and class. So Ruby Get your uniform on and get ready." Said Weiss
Ruby nodded as she does, not knowing much about everything right now it was a little bit weird for her, although there are some things that never change like put on the uniform it doesn't feel too different, Ruby started changing into her school uniform but she stopped when she heard a ringing noise, she turned her head looking back over her shoulder she noticed that the ring was coming from Yang's phone, the phone doesn't look like a scroll that ruby remembers it looks a thin yellow brick with a haft eaten apple in the back, Yang looked at her phone telling everyone in the room that Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren and Nora are at the cafeteria waiting for them, this gave ruby a smile on her face glad she's going to see team JNPR.
When Ruby finally finished changing into her uniform, they looked at her surprised, ruby was wearing her red cloak, the three girls looked at each other.
"Ruby why are you wearing a cape?" Said blake
"Yeah what happened to your scarf?" Yang Question
Ruby looked at them, she never had a scarf, the others looked at each other again questioning it but they're a little bit late so they just shrugged it for now, team RWBY went out the room, Ruby was a little bit surprise at the hallway, it did not change, it looked exactly the same thing like it normally does, they continue walking down the hall to the cafeteria but everything that Ruby sees somethings are different but some other things are still the same, while walking Yang, Blake and Weiss were talking about something that Ruby doesn't understand about, something about Braking bad.
"I'm telling you guys breaking bad is the best show I have ever watch and I think it would be better if you guys check it out, this weekend all of us will check out the show in Netflix, you're not going to regret it." Said Yang
"Yang I am highly aware what is breaking bad, but I did hear people say it's a great show." Said Weiss
"I guess it won't hurt if we check out the show." Said Blake curious about the show.
Ruby has no idea what there talking about, as they continue walking ruby turned her head looking at the window seeing the outside world, her eyes widen, the school was bigger and the Emerald forest where the students go and fight the Grimm was extremely different, there was a few buildings in the forest, she turn her head noticing a sign next to the window, ruby looked at the sign.
"The emerald National forest?"
Ruby looked at the sign, it has a arrow pointing up, she turn her head seeing the door. Ruby sees a lot of people walking in the forest and others coming out. This surprise her, people are going in the forest but without there weapons, ruby stood there trying to process what she's looking at, she zoned out for a bit until she felt a hand on her shoulder, she turn around see Yang giving a concern face.
"Ruby are you all right you're starting to scare me a little bit?"
Ruby was about to say something but she notice that Weiss and Blake was giving the same expression like Yang, Ruby looked down on the ground, she looked back at the forest and gave sigh.
"I'm fine, but Isn't it dangerous for people to go in the Emerald forest with out there weapons?" Said ruby
The three girls stood there, they do know the forest is dangerous you got bears, mountain lions and wolves but carrying around weapons in school property not a good idea, ruby continued saying it's necessary to carry your weapons, if your going to the emerald forest to fight against these monsters called Grimm. This made Weiss Face palm of what she's hearing, Blake just tilted her head, Yang just standing there, ruby continued explaining what are Grimm.
"Grimm, soulless creature that wants to kill people for no reason, COME ON! Look the Emerald forest is filled with Grimm and now your guys telling me you don't what Grimms are!" Said ruby
"Ruby your scaring me." Said Weiss
"Yeah this is out of character for you." Said Blake
"Yeah where are you getting this from?" Said Yang
The three girls looked at each other in concern while ruby was just getting irritated, then a loud growl can be heard, the three girls looked back at ruby see her face grow red in embarrassment, Yang smile and began walking towards her.
"That got to be the loudest growl I have ever hear and coming from you sis. Looks like your hungry, well can't blame you were all hungry." Said Yang
As they entered the cafeteria Ruby looked around seeing multiple different things especially big signs on top like a restaurant. This even confuse Ruby even more and they continue walking following Yang around trying to find familiar looking food, although there are some similar things, there are a lot of new things that made Ruby excited, like there different type of cookies to pick from.
Ruby's eyes glowed bright in excitement in just a flash she managed to pick each and every cookie on a plate, A lot of the students look at her and we're complete surprise that ruby managed to literally keep all the cookies stacked on top each other perfectly balance.
Team Rwby grabbed there food and spotted team JPNR, they were a bit surprised to see Ruby with stacks of cookies on a plate yet perfectly balancing.
"Wow Ruby that's some skill you got there, I wonder if I can do that with my pancakes as well." Said Nora
"Nora remember we talked about, you can't eat too much pancakes remember what happened last time." said Ren
Nora pounded, this got Ruby's attention she knows that her team is different now now she wants to know what team JPNR is like now, to be honest it's 50-50. They were wearing the same uniform as them the differences is Pyrra her hair color is different no longer a bright red color she familiar with, instead it looks orange, either than that everyone else looks the same, Ruby asked Ren question.
"Hey Ren mind telling me why Nora is not allowed to eat a lot of pancakes like normally." Said ruby, Ren looked at her in a bit surprised he wasn't the only one Team JPNR.
"I'm just asking."
"Well Ruby Nora not allowed to eat that much pancakes because well she won't stop and she end up spending a whole hour in the bathroom." Said Ren
"Let me tell you it was amazing, don't judge me."
"Um Nora if I'm not mistaken I remember you screaming and yelling in pain and you keep repeating the same phrase your (paused) butt just exploded." Said Pyrra
"Don't forget she said her mouth too." Said Jaune
"Oh thank you John, yes your mouth as well." Said Pyrra
"Well to make you guys feel better they both came out on both sides." Said Nora
"Oh they came all right." Said Yang smirked as everyone Growns and disgust what she just said.
Everyone stop talking about that and decided to just eat their breakfast, Ruby still looked around seen familiar looking students that she passed by, they look different but yet similar, what surprised her more was there mostly humans she hasn't spotted a single Faunus anywhere. She spotted Velvet with her team, like Blake she also doesn't have her bunny ears, not only that fox is also different still wearing the uniform but the difference here he's holding what looks like a walking cane.
Ruby continue eating her cookies and she knows it was going to be a strange day. After breakfast everyone went to the classes although the schedule is quite the same as Ruby remembered the teachers and their attitudes were sort of similar but different at the same time, like for instance Miss Goodwitch instead of her teaching everyone about fighting she's A fitness teacher pretty much a coach, what completely surprising for Ruby that she found out that Miss Goodwitch used to be a athlete in the Olympics, Ruby has zero idea what are the Olympics are they talking about the sports festival.
Next class was also surprising but yet similar, since no one has no idea what are Grimm professor Port is A wildlife biologist. If Ruby remembers that Professor port is a researcher on Grimm it kind of makes sense for him to study on wildlife if Grimm doesn't exist, but one thing doesn't change professor port always talks about himself and going on with his stories so much that even student started falling asleep by this, even though that he's not talking about him fighting against the Grimm he's mentioned he was fought against lions, elephants even crocodiles in The African savanna. "WHAT IS AFRICA!!!" Ruby question in her mind.
Professor Oobleck Who is not that much different than Ruby remembers he was still talking extremely fast and he was apparently anHistory Instructor, he keeps bringing up different histories like 1776, the war in Gettysburg and The great depression, Ruby has no idea what he's talking about and him talking extremely fast didn't even help at all she keep looking around and seeing other people just focusing but yet some not listening she is so confused, then he keeps mentioning something call the Cold War.
"Miss Rose mind telling me about the cuban missile crisis."
"Uh, it didn't end well." Said ruby in awkwardness
"I'm sorry to tell you Miss Rose but the Cuban missile crisis ended pretty well with both the Soviet Union and United States both decided not to launch the nukes at each other, I believe you should be more paying attention rather zoning out or what else you young students do these days." Said Professor Oobleck as he zoomed back to the board.
Ruby Felt so embarrassed that she use her hoodie covering her face like a turtle, her team looked at her questioning how did she get that wrong, normally Ruby always get that answer correct, something is very odd with Ruby today.
As they continue on with complete awkwardness for Ruby many people looked at her questioning why she's wearing a long hoodie rather than hers red scarf she normally wears, Half through the day Ruby sees Professor Ozpin, for anyone who knows a lot about beacon and pretty much everything else it's gotta be Professor Ozpin.
"Professor Ozpin."
"Ha Miss Rose it's nice to see you again hmm it's been a while for people to call me professor."
"What do you mean, you always been a professor."
"I have been doing some research for about five years Miss Rose, now I am a principal here in the Academy."
"A principal?"
"Yes."
"Professor Ozpin do you remember how did I end up in Beacon in the first place."
"Of course I do but do you remember."
"Kind of."
"you're being scolded by an officer until me and Glenda we're talking to the officer, that was a bit surprised by your determination and skills, you do know a lot about solving problems, when you graduate from Beacon, you will become a really great detective."
Ruby tilted her head questioning what did he just said.
"Detective?"
"Yes, you even have a name for it you call yourself a huntress, I like the name has a good ring to it maybe we should call the professionals Huntsman and huntresses. When you joined Beacon Academy it was very difficult for you, your sister Yang told me about your socially problems, she even told me about you distancing yourself from everyone else so much that you began to imagining some things, that's why I introduce you to Weiss and Blake, and I don't know much about you so I know it was a good idea to leave your sister to help you out, and The best part you've been improving you start talking more started become more open and that makes me happy miss Rose."
A phone ring breaking conversations, has been pulled out his phone and answered it he was talking to someone else that Ruby doesn't know and then suddenly Ozpin eyes widen filled with excitement.
"Love you too Salem, Forgive me Miss Rose but it seems I must be needed take care."
Ruby stood there in complete shock after finding out what Ozpin just told her she just froze, nothing to say trying to process everything she just heard, She turned looking out the window and walk towards it see the city of Vale and the hole area, she was not saying a word just standing there, Her team came back and saw her like that. Today was an odd day for them they know that Ruby was weird but this is taking things up a notch, Yang walked towards her little sister, she's starting to get even more worried she place her arm on ruby shoulder getting her attention, Ruby turned around looking at her older sister and then her other teammates then back at the window until she hugged her sister tightly crying.
"Yang did I imagine everything, The Grimm, The Huntsman and huntresses, remnant, all of it."
"I know it's not what we expected but that's just growing up, look I know you've been distancing yourself and don't talk to people I get that, but you really need to socialize or else you get lonely but you're getting better, you made more friends than before, I'm really proud of you for that, you're coming out of your shell and seeing the real world that's one big step. No matter how different the world is I'm always here to help you out."
"I spend my entire life thinking I am in remnant, but all that everything I learn is just in my head me just blocking the real world."
"I know it's different but when you talked about the Grimm it took me a while to remember, when we were little you used to play as the hero and you fight against these monsters called Grimm that's the first time I've heard you bring them up in a long time."
Ruby still hugging yang crying.
"Look I know the world is not what you expected but it's not to late to start all over."
Weiss and Blake looked at ruby who was hugging her older sister until they joined in, Ruby thought she imagine all of her adventures with her team at least there are some things that never change like the support of her team. They went back to their dorms Yang asked if they wanted to get some pizza and watch the show breaking bad, since it's the weekend they all agreed, A couple hours have passed as they eat their pizza and watch the show, Weiss did have a couple complaints about the main character not prepared for any situation, but she did see the show is interesting.
Ruby starting to be a little bit more open and taking things a little bit slow but she's getting there, she is happy that her team is happy even though The world that she knows was all in her head, she's actually happy that she still had them. Weiss got up and went to the desk to get her laptop, she wants to study and finish her homework before the weekend is finish so better start now or never, as she walked towards the desk, she slipped falling towards the ground by instant Ruby saw this and immediately ran and caught her before she hit the ground. The whole room went silent, Ruby looked at Weiss asking if she's OK Weiss didn't say a word, Ruby was confused why is everyone was looking at her like she has a second head, until she looked behind her and see the rose petals she left behind then it hit her, she forgot about it, how could she forgot about it.
Her eyes widen her smile grew knowing that everything that she knows about her world is all true because if all that was in her head she shouldn't have her semblance.
"I HAVE MY SEMBLANCE!!" Said ruby screaming in excitement but she let go of Weiss making fall on the ground.
Everyone the whole room started asking questions about this unknown power that Ruby has.
"Ruby did you move incredibly fast?" Said Blake
"This shouldn't be possible?" Said Weiss
"My baby sister has a super power!!!" Said Yang
All of them ran towards Ruby asking her multiple strange questions, she didn't even listen to them she was still processing the excitement she's in but then the next question came up to her if she still has her semblance, what happened to her world where is she exactly and how did she get here.
Ruby stopped and looked at everyone she realize everyone was waiting for an answer.
"I wasn't paying attention what are you guys are going to say?"
They all looked at each other and looked at ruby.
"Tell us about your powers." Said Yang
"You mean my semblance." Said ruby as she smirked at them.
