Sakura looked at the silver-haired man that is looking at her coldly. She had half the mind to summon his ninkens - he taught her how and added her blood to his blood covenant in the summoning scroll - and count them. It feels like she killed one of them in her sleep by the intensityof the gaze he is giving her.
"Why are you looking at me like that, Kakashi?" She asked nervously. "Did I do something to your dogs?" She added, trying to alleviate the cold atmosphere that is surround them.
"Get out, Sakura." Kakashi demanded.
Sakura's eyes narrowed at the tone he used to her. "What did I do to deserve your ire?" She asked confused. "Did I really do something to your dogs?" She asked him, knowing that more than her, his dogs mean the most to him.
"You are really asking me that, Sakura?" Kakashi growled. "I'm not stupid. I may be old, but I am not stupid."
"Hey!" Sakura shouted. Annoyed at him. "I never said you're old, or that you're stupid. But I don't know what I did to anger you."
Kakashi's lone eye stared at her. A cold chill run through her spine. This is not the Kakashi she knows and loves. The man in front of her is the ninja that multiple enemies saw in their last moment. There is a murderous glint in his eye.
"Ka-Kakashi." She stuttered, truly afraid of the man in front of her, so different from the man who gave her gentle kisses and tender hugs.
"Get out, Sakura." he said in a low, dangerous voice. "Before I drag you out. We're done."
"You're dumping me?" Sakura asked, tear started to form in her eyes. "What did I do?"
"Stop the act, Sakura. I saw you last night!"
Sakura felt her breath get knocked out of her lungs. "You saw me with, Sasuke." her voice low.
"Yes. So, stop pretending like a good little girl. We're done."
"Can't you just let me explain first?"
"What is more to explain, Sakura?" Kakashi asked. "That you still love him, that the childhood crush you had for him didn't diminish. And even after two years of being together, in the bottom of your heart, he is still the one that you are waiting for? I know that Sakura. I'm not blind and I'm not stupid. So, get out!"
"Ka-Kakashi, please." Sakura is openly crying now.
But Kakashi does not have the time to listen to her explanation. He grabbed her arm tightly and drag her out of his house. With cold eye, he said. "Don't ever come back."
Sakura stumbled out of Kakashi's house; her heart shattered into pieces. The weight of his accusations hung heavy in the air, and the tears streamed down her face as she tried to process what had just happened.
As she walked away, Sakura couldn't shake the feeling of disbelief and betrayal. The man she had loved, the one she thought understood her, had cast her aside without even giving her a chance to explain. The memories of their time together replayed in her mind like a cruel joke.
The village seemed different now, unfamiliar, and cold. Sakura wandered aimlessly; her thoughts consumed by the sudden turn of events. She had never imagined that Kakashi, of all people, would be the one to break her heart so mercilessly.
Hours passed, and Sakura found herself at a familiar training ground, the place where Team 7 used to practice together. The memories of their adventures flooded back, and the pain in her chest deepened. She sank to her knees, feeling lost and abandoned.
In the midst of her despair, a soft voice interrupted her thoughts. "Sakura, are you okay?"
She looked up to see Naruto standing there, concern etched across his face. Without a word, she shook her head, unable to articulate the pain that gripped her.
Naruto sat down beside her, offering a comforting presence. "What happened? Did something go wrong with Kakashi-sensei?" That would be the only explanation, as Sakura always come at Kakashi's house every morning so that they can eat breakfast together, and it wasn't even 7:30!
Sakura took a shaky breath, attempting to find the words. "He saw me with Sasuke last night, and he thinks... he thinks I'm still in love with him."
Naruto's expression shifted from concern to understanding. "Sakura, I'm so sorry. I didn't know things were this complicated."
Tears continued to fall from Sakura's eyes as she recounted the events that led to the abrupt end of her relationship with Kakashi. Naruto listened quietly, anger flickering in his eyes at the injustice of it all.
"You don't deserve this, Sakura," Naruto said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I'll talk to Kakashi. Maybe he just needs to hear the whole story."
Sakura managed a weak smile, touched by Naruto's unwavering support. But she shook her head. "He won't listen to me, Naruto. He won't listen to you." And then she burst out crying again.
Naruto sighed, feeling a sense of helplessness. He hated seeing Sakura, his friend, in so much pain. "We can't let this end like this. Kakashi-sensei needs to know the truth. He needs to know how much you love him and that Sasuke is just a part of your past."
Sakura nodded, wiping away her tears. "But how do we make him listen? He's so angry, so convinced that I'm still in love with Sasuke."
Naruto thought for a moment, determination burning in his eyes. "We'll find a way. We can't let your relationship with Kakashi-sensei end like this. Let me talk to him. Maybe he'll listen to me."
Sakura looked at Naruto with gratitude, appreciating his willingness to help. "Thank you, Naruto. I don't know what I would do without you."
Naruto gave her a reassuring smile. "We're a team, Sakura. Team 7. We look out for each other. Now, let's go find Kakashi-sensei and make him understand."
"Thank you, Naruto." She sniffed. Naruto left and she found her way back to her house, where she cried again after crossing the threshold.
She bit her thumb, let the blood pool at her finger and pressed her hand to the floor. "Pakkun." she whispered.
In a puff of smoke, Pakkun, one of Kakashi's ninken, materialized in front of Sakura. His small size and distinctive snout made him easily recognizable.
"Pakkun, I need your help," Sakura said, her voice trembling. "Kakashi... he saw me with Sasuke, and he thinks I'm still in love with him. He kicked me out, Pakkun. I need you to find him and convince him to listen to me."
Pakkun studied Sakura's tear-streaked face for a moment before nodding. "I'll do what I can, Sakura. But you need to be honest with yourself and with him. If there's something you haven't told him, now's the time."
Sakura nodded, determined. "I'll tell him everything, Pakkun. Just please, help me."
Pakkun vanished in another puff of smoke, leaving Sakura alone in her house. She wiped away the remaining tears and took a deep breath. As she waited for Pakkun to find Kakashi, she thought about what went wrong and how she could make things right.
After almost an hour, Pakkun returned. His eyes somber, and tears started to flood her eyes again. "I'm sorry, Sakura, I tried. But he won't listen."
Sakura's heart sank at Pakkun's words. The realization that Kakashi was truly unwilling to hear her side of the story hit her with a fresh wave of pain. She thanked Pakkun for his efforts and watched as he disappeared in a small puff of smoke.
She glanced at the wall clock, it's still early, but her heart it is breaking into pieces. She moved toward the small kitchen and opened one of the cabinets. She took out a bottle with golden yellow liquid inside.
Sakura clutched the bottle of whiskey in her trembling hands, contemplating the numbing solace it might provide. The pain in her heart seemed unbearable, and the weight of rejection and betrayal pressed down on her.
As she unscrewed the cap, a flood of memories flashed before her eyes—the moments of laughter, shared dreams, and the warmth of Kakashi's embrace. It all felt like a distant dream now, shattered by a single night and a misunderstanding.
The bitter liquid burned her throat as she took a swig, trying to drown the sorrow that threatened to consume her. The alcohol offered a temporary reprieve, a fleeting escape from the harsh reality that her love story had come crashing down.
Three and a half hours later, Sakura finished eight bottles. Being the Godaime's apprentice made her tolerance higher, so she need more to get drunk. As she is unscrewing the cap of the ninth bottle, a knock sounded at her door.
Sakura, in a haze of alcohol-induced numbness, stumbled toward the door. She swung it open, revealing Naruto standing there with a mix of worry and determination on his face.
"Sakura, what are you doing?" Naruto asked, his eyes widening at the sight of the empty bottles scattered around the room.
Sakura hiccupped and tried to focus on Naruto's face. "Drinking. What does it look like?"
Naruto stepped inside; concern etched across his features. "This isn't the solution, Sakura. We need to find a way to fix things with Kakashi-sensei but drinking yourself into oblivion won't help."
Sakura laughed bitterly, the sound harsh and empty. "What does it matter, Naruto? He won't listen. I've lost him."
Naruto sighed, realizing the depth of Sakura's despair. "Look, we can't give up. I haven't spoken to Kakashi yet, but I won't let him just throw away what you two had without a fight."
Sakura scoffed. "A fight? He doesn't want me, Naruto. I saw it in his eyes."
Naruto crouched down, meeting her gaze. "Maybe he's hurt, confused, or angry. But that doesn't mean it's over. You need to face this with a clear mind, not drowned in alcohol."
Sakura took another swig from the bottle, the burn down her throat offering a twisted comfort. "What's the point? I've already lost him."
"Sakura, you are not listening!" Naruto huffed in annoyance.
Tears pooled at her eyes again. "Naruto, I am always left behind. I thought Kakashi wont. I love him, Naruto. I love him." She cried, clutching his clothes then suddenly she let him go. She hiccuped. "You know, I've been practicing your rasengan." She held up her right hand. And a swirl of chakra formed in her palm, unsteady and wavering due to her inebriated state.
"I've always wondered how it would feel if you were hit with it."
Naruto's eyes widened at the swirling chakra in Sakura's hand. "Hey, come on, Sakura. Let's not do something we'll regret later."
Sakura smirked, the alcohol making her emotions unpredictable. "Regret? I've already lost everything. What's there left to regret?" She asked, then without warning she pushed the ball of energy into her chest, directly into her heart.
Naruto's eyes widened in shock as he saw Sakura channeling the rasengan into her own chest. And because of shock, he wasn't able to stop her.
"Sakura!"
As blood dripped from her mouth she mouthed one name. "Kakashi."
Naruto immediately carried Sakura to the hospital. He knows that his jutsu is powerful enough to... he doesn't want to think the word. He'll save Sakura and then knock some sense into Kakashi, and maybe kick Sasuke out of the village. He was the one who started it all.
Naruto rushed Sakura to the hospital, panic and urgency coursing through him. He couldn't bear the thought of losing another precious person in his life. As the medical team sprang into action, Naruto's mind raced with a mix of guilt, anger, and determination.
The news of Sakura's condition spread quickly through the village. Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage and Sakura's mentor, was immediately informed. Naruto, sitting in the waiting area, clenched his fists, the weight of responsibility heavy on his shoulders.
Naruto was sitting on the hallway, trying to keep his wits together. He can hear the voices from the other side of the door. "Tsunade-sama, she's flatlining!"
"It's going to be fine. Tsunade-obaa-chan is with her." He kept on murmuring to himself.
After twenty minutes she stepped out of the room, she lookee at Naruto. She eyes stern and red. "Time of death: 3:10 PM." She just announced and left.
