Y/N lay curled on her side in the bed, facing away from the door. She didn't want to look at anybody right now and Monica was standing just inside the room. The door was closed to keep the chatter in the hall from reaching her ears. It had gotten louder at one point and she knew Cor had arrived. Soon later, a soft click sounded as she heard the door push open.
"Mr. Sciencia…" Monica whispered. A moment of silence passed before she spoke again. "I'll just be in the hall."
"Thank you Monica," Ignis responded.
After the door clicked closed, silence filled the room. Y/N laid there waiting for him to say something, not sure of how she would respond to anything he had to say. She didn't even hear his silent footsteps as he neared the bed. She only knew he had moved closer when she heard him sigh right behind her and place a hand on her arm.
"Are you alright?" he asked, quietly.
"What do you think?" she bit out.
"I don't know what to think, if I'm being honest. I knew you should have waited for Gladio-"
"So this is my fault?" Y/N angrily stated, sitting up and turning around to face Ignis.
He gasped at the site of her bloodied lip and bruise forming on her cheek.
"Of course not. The fault is mine. I should have stayed with you until he met us. I should have walked you there myself. You are to always have an escort and I knew this and still left you," Ignis sighed and ran a hand through his hair before gently stroking her bruised cheek. "And all I know is I want nothing more than to find this man and make him pay for what he has done to you and I want nothing more than to wrap you in my arms to feel for myself that you are alright but I don't even know if you would let me do that or not."
Ignis' voice broke and his eyes got glassy. Y/N's stubbornness broke in that instant and she moved herself forward as Ignis wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly against himself. And even though she was tired of crying and had finally stopped moments before Ignis arrived, tears flowed down her cheeks once more and she cried in his arms.
The two stayed in silence as Ignis stroked a hand down the back of Y/N's hair while she cried. That silence was only broken when the door creaked open to Cor standing in the threshold.
"Y/N has been cleared to go," he said. "I just need a few words with you, Ignis."
"Of course. What do you need?"
"In the hall, please," is all Cor responded.
Ignis sighed, not wanting to let go of Y/N just yet. He placed a gentle kiss to the top of her head and squeezed her a little tighter before letting go.
"I'll be just a moment," he told her before turning and walking out the door to meet with Cor in the hallway.
"We have a new problem," Cor said before Ignis could close the door all the way shut behind him.
Ignis paled a bit. He remembered Gladio saying this was someone else. Someone new who wanted to hurt his wife. But why? That's all he wanted to know right now. Why was any of this happening?
"What new information do we have?" Ignis asked. "Who was it?"
"We don't know-"
"HOW?" Ignis lashed out. "How is it that we are in the most secure building in, probably, all of the world and yet we still don't know who keeps hurting my wife?!"
"Ignis, I am going to ask you to control yourself," Cor scolded. "We have been working on it to the best of our ability. This is a new development in the case."
"What happened?" Ignis asked for what felt like the twelfth time today, sounding defeated. He just wanted to know what went wrong. "Where was Gladio? Better yet, where was the security detail originally assigned to her today? Why was he given a new assignment without a replacement?"
"That's what we are wondering as well. He was questioned and mentioned receiving a text he was needed elsewhere, but when he arrived no one was to even be found. He reported that he went back to the main hall, but you two were not there and must have already left. Gladio said he never saw her. He also received a text to meet me in my office, but I never requested him."
"I got a text this morning as well, requesting my attendance at a meeting. But when I got there, no one was even in the room."
"Someone wanted us all distracted. This isn't our usual perpetrator's method. This is definitely someone new. Y/N mentioned so as well."
"What did she say?"
"It was a large man in heavy armor. And he didn't play mind games the way our other mystery man does. He went straight for hurting her and then told her to tell her mother to back down. From what, we aren't sure."
"If this wasn't our usual man, did we at least find him on one of the cameras?"
"Unfortunately, no," Cor sighed. "All we have is Y/N entering the women's locker room and then Drautos entering after her."
"Drautos?" Ignis questioned, wondering why the man would follow her into a place like the women's changing room. "What was he doing there?"
"He is who discovered her. He heard her screams and went in to see what was wrong. Unfortunately, all we have is the two of them entering. No one else aside from other women earlier that morning. So whoever attacked her this time is also using the same masking magic as our other friend."
"Do you think they are working together?"
"I can only assume so at this moment, but nothing confirmed. Y/N was certain this was not the usual man who plagues her."
Ignis stood across from Cor, running his hand over his chin with the other on his hip. What did these people have against his wife? And what did this have to do with her mother? Stand down? From what?
"Have we gotten in contact with her mother?"
"All communication attempts have not been answered. We are going to try a different approach, however. The King wishes to have Y/N make a video. We will send it to Altissia in hopes of a reply. Maybe seeing her will make a difference. To hear her daughter pleading to answer."
"Yes…perhaps," Ignis agreed. "When do you wish for her to do so?"
"Right now," Cor sighed.
"Now? Are you certain this cannot wait? She will hardly be up to filming in her state!" Ignis argued.
"Her state is what may help our case. Her mother needs to see what is happening to understand the urgency here. If this is all somehow connected to Altissia and her mother, we need to demand a response."
Ignis understood where they were coming from. He only wished to get his wife back home, safe and away from the place she kept getting hurt. He wished to ice her bruises and hold her, calming her fears.
Before Ignis could say anything, Y/N appeared in the doorway.
"Can we go home now. Please," she asked her husband.
Ignis gave her a sad look, knowing she didn't want to do what he was about to ask of her.
"Remember, just repeat what Cor told you, and we can go home after this. I have requested the rest of the afternoon off. I'll take you straight home," Ignis said to Y/N, crouched down in front of the chair she was sitting in.
Y/N was sitting motionless, staring into her lap. She understood why they were doing this, but her nerves were absolutely wrecked. The Citadel was the last place she wanted to be. It took them a moment to bring in the cameras and hook them up. She was sitting in an empty office down the hall from Cor's office. All that was in the room was the chair she was sitting in and a few people. She only recognized Ignis, Cor, Monica, and Drautos.
Drautos…she wondered how the man heard her screaming but didn't happen to run into the heavily armed man who attacked her. They had to have crossed paths on his way to her. It wasn't long after the man released her that she saw Draotos standing there. Then again, she asked Ignis if they saw him on the cameras and he mentioned no one was spotted. So he must have only been visible to her the same way the other man is.
Everyone seemed to think contacting her mother will help to ward off these attacks. That it all has something to do with back home. And she can't help but agree. She only hoped seeing her bruised and battered face would prompt her mother to finally respond. If she didn't after this, Y/N would wonder if her mother ever really cared at all. Who could see their daughter in such a state and ignore her?
"I'll just be on the other side of the camera if you should need me," Ignis informed her before standing up and reluctantly leaving her.
"Okay, Y/N," Cor said. "Just say what I told you. You can add anything else you feel may help. You know her better than the rest of us."
Y/N nodded her head and looked into the camera, waiting for the go ahead to start speaking. When the man running it pointed to her and a little red light came on, Y/N started to speak.
"Hello mother. I am reaching out to you today in hopes of hearing back from you. There have been many attempts from the Citadel to contact you, all of which have failed. Including my own calls. This is not a time to ignore me, however. Things have gotten dire. I am…" Y/N took a shaky breath, trying to calm herself. "I have been attacked by two separate men now. Both referencing you. The most recent demanded that you stand down. I do not know to what they refer, but we need your help in understanding this. Insomnia is willing to work with you to solve this. But you must first answer our calls."
Y/N paused again as tears started to well up in her eyes.
"Please, mother. I can't do this anymore. I need you to answer us. What is going on?" she asked, almost at a whisper. "If it is help you need…just tell us."
Cor shifted his feet and looked to Drautos a moment before looking back at Y/N. This distracted Y/N a moment and she faltered. Ignis caught her eye and he nodded his head at her, encouraging her to continue on.
"Please. I just need you to answer me. Return my calls. Return the Citadel's calls. Something! But I need you. I can't do this anymore…" Y/N broke down in sobs.
She brought her hand to her mouth and looked down in her lap. She knew she needed to keep it together and put together a good video to send her mother, but she wasn't sure what else to say beyond begging. And it hurt her to have to beg for her mother's attention and care. A hand covered hers in her lap and she looked up to see Ignis crouched again in front of her.
"You did perfect, darling," he assured her. "We can go home now."
After returning to their apartment, Y/N simply sat on the couch and turned on the tv, hoping to distract herself. She declined any lunch when Ignis asked if she was hungry. He simply made a sandwich for himself and worked at the dining table on his laptop. Every so often he glanced at his wife to make sure she was still okay and found her staring at the tv with a blank and empty look on her face every time.
As evening approached, he offered her an ice pack for her cheek. He noticed the swelling hadn't gone down and it still looked painful. He angrily sat back down at his laptop. What kind of a man put his hands on a woman in such a way? A weak minded individual, he was certain of it.
When it came time for dinner, Y/N still declined anything, but he still made her a small bowl of pasta. Something to fill her certainly empty stomach, but she merely picked at it and only took a few bites.
When night time approached, she took her shower first as usual and stood brushing her hair again as she always did while Ignis showered. When he exited the bathroom, the usual feelings of wanting to pleasure his wife were far from his mind this night. Sure, after what they had shared the previous night, he at one point had hoped to once again engage in relations together. But he knew anything of the sort would be highly insensitive tonight. He wished more to hold her in his arms, knowing she was safe and secure. Something he knew he would struggle with as he attempted to sleep tonight so far from her.
"Goodnight, darling," he softly said, as he went to exit the bedroom. Before he made it out of the door, however, his wife's voice stopped him.
"Ignis?" she asked in a small voice.
"Yes?..." he answered, turning back to look at her.
"I…I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep tonight," she confessed.
"I myself doubt I'll get much sleep either. Still, it's best you rest and lay down. You've had a long day."
"No I…I mean I don't…I don't want to be alone…" she quietly said.
"Oh…Well…I can maybe sit at your vanity until you fall asleep if you wish?" he offered.
"That's kind of you to offer but…I don't want to be alone. At all tonight."
Ignis wasn't sure what to do. He had no problems sitting and waiting for her to fall asleep, but to sleep in the chair all night would certainly be uncomfortable. He would do it if he must though.
"Would you like for me to sleep in the chair? That way I will not be out of the room," he asked her.
"Can you…sleep in the bed with me instead? I don't wish for you to be cramped up in the chair."
Sleep in the bed? Next to her? He had wished nothing more since she moved in. He was only upset it took a terrible incident to prompt her to ask him to join her.
"If…if that is what you wish, Princess."
"I'm sorry. I don't want you to be uncomfortable doing so. I just-"
"It is no problem at all," Ignis replied, trying not to sound too excited at the thought of sleeping next to her. "Let me just grab my pillow from the living room."
"Okay," Y/N said, walking over to the bed to get in. She dropped her robe off her shoulders and hung it on the corner post of the headboard. Crawling under the covers, she hugged the left side of the bed waiting for Ignis' return.
When Ignis walked back into the room, he closed the door behind him and flicked the light switch off. There was a small smile gracing his lips as he approached the bed. He first set his phone on the nightstand, plugging it into the socket on the wall with a cord he had also retrieved from the living room. Placing his pillow down on the right side of the bed, he pulled the covers back and got in underneath them. Y/N knew now was not the time to feel excited, but she couldn't help the small butterflies that started fluttering inside her stomach.
"Thank you again," she said softly.
"It is no problem," Ignis assured her.
Ignis removed his glasses and placed them gently on the bedside table. He lay on his back staring at the ceiling in silence. He admitted, this wasn't how he pictured his first night sharing a bed with his wife, but he was grateful for it nonetheless.
"Just…stay on your side…okay?" she whispered in the darkness.
"Of course," he agreed, not wanting to make her uncomfortable.
After she tossed and turned a few times, Ignis eventually heard Y/N's breathing deepen and even out, signally she was finally asleep. He knew they had been laying in silence for close to an hour. He allowed himself to look over at her moonlit face a few brief moments before closing his own eyes and settling into sleep.
Y/N could feel herself being pulled from the comfort of slumber but wasn't yet ready to open her eyes and wake up. She tried to roll herself onto her back but felt something holding her down. She was also a lot warmer than usual. Opening her eyes slightly, she saw what the weight across the side of her turned body was. It was her husband. Turned on his side facing her with his arm draped over her, holding her against himself.
Her eyes opened a bit wider and her breathing halted for a moment. The previous night slowly came back to her and she realized how she ended up in this predicament. She had to admit to herself, it was a bit nice not to wake up alone. She also didn't awaken multiple times in the night as she usually did. She also reflected on the day prior. How he had come running to her in the medical wing the moment he had found out what had happened. The way he gently held her and stroked her hair, trying to comfort her. How he supported her as she recorded the video for her mother.
Just then, Ignis shifted a bit closer to her. Something was poking into her thigh. Was it his knee? It seemed to be too high to be his knee. She shifted her leg a bit, rubbing against what was poking into her more and Ignis let out a deep, but hushed moan. Y/N gasped, guessing what was against her leg. Her sudden gasp caused Ignis' eyes to open to stare at her a moment. His cheeks seemed to redden the longer he stared at her, but he wasn't saying anything. She felt his hips pull back, bringing his hardened member away from her.
"A-apologies…" he stuttered out. "...I-"
Before he could finish his statement, Y/N pushed her lips against his. The kiss was hard and almost urgent. Ignis was initially surprised and took a moment to respond before closing his eyes and kissing her back. This was deeper than any kiss they had shared prior. In fact, they had really only shared two kisses before this. All his other kisses to her had been along her skin.
Originally Ignis was mortified as sleep slowly left his mind and he realized his hard cock was pushing into Y/N's thigh. Sure, she had touched him on a few occasions but this was unexpected and out of his control. He wasn't sure what was going through her mind. Even now he was unsure, but he didn't seem to care.
He brought his arm that was draped over her up and tangled his fingers into her hair. Y/N's own arm moved out and she ran her hand up and down his side under the covers. Ignis' other arm that was holding him up started cramping after a few minutes, so he hauled his body up and overtop of Y/N's. In this new position, both of his hands were free to hold her head as he angled his face against hers. Both of Y/N's hands gripped Ignis' waist. With that last movement, Ignis grew braver and gently ran his tongue against her bottom lip, asking for permission to enter. Her mouth opened further and he took the invitation to delve inside. Even this early in the morning, her taste was exquisite.
Ignis slowly rocked his hips against hers, his member running in a line straight up her core. The soft little moan she let out caused his hips to buck forward on their own, poking her harder. Y/N's hips widened, bringing her knees to either side of Ignis' hips. He settled himself right between her legs and began rocking against her. Y/N's hands gripped the bottom of his shirt and started tugging upwards.
Just then, a shrill noise echoed in the room causing both individuals to pull apart from each other suddenly. They both looked around a moment before Ignis realized it was his phone on the bedside table ringing. Y/N quickly rolled from beneath Ignis as he sat up on his knees. She grabbed her robe beside the bed and hurriedly put it on.
"Oh Six, I'm…I apologize," she gasped out, her breathing harsh.
Ignis glanced at her, a slightly put off look on his face, before turning back to his phone and answering it.
"Yes sir..?" he greeted, still slightly out of breath from their kissing.
"Ignis, we got a response. You're both needed at the Citadel immediately," Cor informed.
"Of course sir," Ignis responded, knowing exactly what the man on the other line was referring to. Her mother responded to the video. It worked.
As Ignis hung up his phone and set it back down, Y/N pulled her robe tighter around herself.
"I didn't mean to be so brash. Please forgive me," she pleaded.
Ignis wasn't certain how to respond to her apologies. He loved every second of what had just happened. He didn't want her to take any of it back. He decided not to respond at all and to just inform her about the call he had just received.
"That was the Marshall."
"I didn't mean any of that! Please, just…forget that even happened!" she pleaded.
"It seems your video has worked. Your mother sent a response," Ignis continued, ignoring her pleading.
"She…what?" Y/N quietly breathed out. "What did she say?"
"I am not sure exactly. He didn't inform me of that. Just that we are needed at the Citadel immediately."
"Of course! I'll just… I just need to get ready."
"Certainly," Ignis sighed. "Let me just quickly get dressed in the bathroom and I'll leave the room to you."
The couple rode together in silence. Y/N still embarrassed by her behavior that morning and Ignis not sure how to respond to her embarrassment. As the two arrived at the Citadel, they immediately made their way to Cor's office.
"Good morning. Come in," Cor greeted them as they both appeared in his doorway.
Ignis ushered Y/N ahead of him and closed the door. As he sat in the other seat across from Cor's desk, he quickly glanced over at Y/N trying to gauge her emotions.
"We heard from your mother early this morning. She didn't call or send a video back as we had hoped and expected, but she did send a short electronic letter."
"What did it say?" Y/N asked.
"She made mention of trying to hold out for as long as she could, however seeing your state, she decided now it may be best to stand down as directed. She still did not refer to what she was standing down to, however. But that they worked hard to hold out as long as possible. She wanted to apologize to you and had never intended for this to affect you in any way. She then continued to scold us for allowing this to happen to you," Cor grumbled. "Our only problem now, is figuring out what it is she's standing down from. This has potential to cause major political uproar. There is an emergency council meeting you will need to attend today."
Y/N sighed and looked down at her hands. She had really hoped to speak with her mother, or at the very least, see a video of her. It had been so long since they had spoken. Sure, their relationship was fragile at times...but that was her mother.
"I'll escort you to the meeting room," Ignis said, standing from his chair.
"The meeting is now?" she asked.
"It was called for first thing this morning," Cor answered her.
"Very well," she quietly answered, standing and moving to open the door.
Gladio made his way inside Ignis' office and plopped down in his usual chair across from the desk. Ignis looked to be lost in thought; staring at his computer screen, but not really looking at it.
"You good, Specs?" Gladio asked, leaning back in the chair and rubbing his hand along the hair on his chin.
"What do you make of all this, Gladio?" his friend asked.
"All what, exactly? I feel like there's five things going on at once."
"You're not wrong," Ignis sighed.
"Are you referring to Altissia?" Gladio asked, guessing that's what he had meant after hearing word they heard back from the Queen. "I don't know all the details, but from what I hear, no one really does. Has Y/N spoken about her mother much?"
"Not often, no. All she's really said is that she's been too quiet lately and that usually means she is planning something. She can be quite calculating, from what she's mentioned. Y/Ns tried to get in contact with her multiple times, but to no avail."
"Doesn't that seem weird to you? What mother wouldn't want to speak to her daughter? Especially after she's lived with you her whole life and then gets whisked away to another country across the ocean."
"Their relationship seems a bit…unconventional. I haven't gotten many details from Y/N but I suppose I should try and ask her more. See if we can figure anything out together."
"What about her friend? Has she said anything?"
"They talk often, but Y/N hasn't made any mention of anything suspicious lately."
"Lately?"
"There was a bit of gossip about her leaving and her mother disowning her. It was quite a mess for a bit of time. LeAnn, I believe her name is, wasn't even supposed to be contacting her. But she had no contact with the Queen so her information was brief about the incident."
"Doesn't she have a brother too?" Gladio asked.
"She does," Ignis sighed, sitting back in his seat and crossing his arms. "But she's never even spoken of him. I only know his name from the research I did on her before she arrived."
"They don't get along either?"
"I honestly haven't a clue. Like I said, she never even mentions him. I often forget he exists."
"What about her father? Where is he in all of this?"
"Same as her brother, she never mentions him. It's always just her mother she seems worried about. And her friend she talks to every day."
"Does she only have one friend? No one else?" Gladio asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I haven't heard her mention anyone else. She seemed to live a lonely life at the castle. LeAnn seems to be a commoner with limited access to castle affairs. So she's not even a friend she was able to be around all the time."
"No wonder she's so socially stunted," Gladio grumbled. Ignis gave him a disapproving face. "You can't deny it! She doesn't seem to really know how to be around others or hold conversations."
"I've held conversations with her," Ignis defended his wife.
"You're the exception. She seems to get along pretty well with Prompto. He's mentioned the two of them talk often. What was that?" Gladio suddenly asked.
"What was what?" Ignis questioned back, slightly on alert wondering what his friend was referring to.
"That face you just made. You get that look on your face every time Prompto is mentioned lately. There some beef I don't know about between you two?"
"I didn't make any face," Ignis stated, rolling his eyes.
"You sure and shit did. Like I said, you make that face every time he's brought up."
"I assure you, I am not making any type of face as you put it."
"Kids been doing really good in training. He's an ace with that gun of his. Cor said he's ready to be Crownsguard. He's got it. Which is why he's sometimes assigned to your wife- and there it is again!" Gladio said, pointing a finger at Ignis. "That face!"
"Gladio…" Ignis sighed.
"It's like you just tasted something sour."
"Don't you have to pick up Noct soon?" Ignis asked, changing the subject.
"Not yet," Gladio said, slightly amused his friend was avoiding talking about this. "Is there something about him I should know? Something you aren't sharing?"
"No," Ignis answered simply.
"He gets along great with your wife and seems to be one of the few people that like her," Gladio said. Catching Ignis making the face he was referring to again, a thought occurred to him. "You aren't jealous are you?"
"Of course not," Ignis said, sitting up and shuffling papers around on his desk making himself look busy.
"You wish you could talk to her just as easily…don't you?" Gladio asked, taking a bit of pity on his friend.
"We talk just fine. We have more in common. We are married. How closer could two people be?"
"But it's not easy, is it? She's still hard to get through to? Things still rough for the two of you?"
"Things are fine Gladio, as I previously mentioned. In fact, things are a bit more than fine," Ignis stated, getting a hint of color to his cheeks.
"Okay, here we go! What's the latest?" Gladio asked, leaning his arms forward on his knees.
"Gladio…" Ignis sighed.
"Don't Gladio me! You brought this up! Now continue," he smiled.
"A few days back I…we…well, I…."
"Come on! You what? Do you need me to shut the door?" Gladio got up from his seat and quickly shut the door to Ignis' office. "Continue!"
"I…did as you said I should."
Gladio just stared back at his friend.
"I've told you to do a lot of things. Many of which I can't actually picture you engaging in, so you're gonna have to be a bit more specific here, Iggy."
"I…touched her back one night," Ignis replied, his cheeks beating red.
"Yes!" Gladio almost shouted. "Iggy got his fingers wet! How was it? Did she like it?"
"She seemed to really enjoy herself, yes," Ignis.
"Did she…just enjoy herself? Or did she get off?"
"I feel a bit uncomfortable discussing my wife's climaxes with you, Gladio," Ignis said, running a hand down his face.
"This is important! You gotta make sure they cum! And not that faking it bullshit, either."
"Faking it?"
"Yes, girls will fake it if they are tired of whatever you are doing and just want it over with. You gotta learn to tell the difference. And some girls are really good at faking it!"
Ignis stared at his friend for a few moments. Surely she didn't…fake her orgasm did she? He distinctly remembered her knees buckling and her breath catching in her throat. The way she seemed so embarrassed by her reaction. If she faked it…she wouldn't have acted in such a way…right?
"Uh oh…I got you thinking too hard. Are you worried?" Gladio asked.
"No. I am not. I am quite certain she didn't fake anything."
"Well good! Anything else?"
"This morning…we had a bit of a moment together-"
"This morning! Wow, I would figure with everything going on she wouldn't want to do anything."
"Well, I think it is because we slept together last night-"
"YOU HAD SEX?" Gladio almost shrieked.
"Keep it down!" Ignis scolded. "And no, we slept together! In the same bed. Sleeping."
"Ohhhh! Be more specific next time! So, finally moved off the couch?"
"She was scared to sleep alone last night. So she asked me to join her."
"I suppose that's a bit of a silver lining to this whole ordeal. What?" Gladio asked as Ignis gave him a pointed look.
"There is nothing good about what happened yesterday. I would gladly have kept sleeping on the couch if it meant my wife's safety."
"You're right. My bad. Sooo…what exactly was this moment you speak of?" Gladio asked, still curious.
"I awoke with my arms around her. Well, she awoke before me. And…I tried to pull myself away from her but, she leaned in and started kissing me. With this…fire she never has before."
"Uh huh! Go on!" Gladio prompted, with a shit eating grin on his face.
"I'm…not entirely sure how it happened, but her legs ended up around me and I was above her."
"Yes, yes! What else?"
"I…" Ignis face reddened as he remembered rutting himself against her. Her hips rocking against his own. How it felt to be above her a thrusting against her. Gladio didn't need all of these details! What was he doing? "Nothing."
"Wha…what do you mean nothing?" Gladio asked, sitting up and holding his hands out.
"Cor called. She pulled away from me and asked I forget about the whole thing."
"Which you certainly haven't done!"
"No, I…I can't!"
"I wouldn't either! That's the closest thing to getting some you've gotten so far! Damn Cor and his impeccable timing, eh?"
"I was rather…frustrated. It was almost hard to hide."
"So don't?" Gladio shrugged.
"I couldn't let her know I was disappointed! She simply lost herself in the moment. A moment that probably shouldn't have even happened, all things considered."
"Don't do that! You guys are still allowed to have moments together, even though all of this is going on. You can't just stop your lives because of these guys."
"I suppose you're right," Ignis sighed. "I just want her to enjoy herself. She hasn't had a chance to do that once since coming here it seems."
"Soooo…let her have her moments like she did this morning! That's huge for the two of you! Here I am assuming you both just watch tv and eat dinner together and you're over there finger banging her and making out in bed!"
Ignis rolled his eyes before responding.
"I think she needs something to lift her spirits. Perhaps a dinner with all of us together or something?"
"You think she would like that?" Gladio asked.
"Perhaps another female presence like Luna would be beneficial for her."
"Perhaps," Gladio shrugged. "And she gets along well with Prompto." Gladio snapped his fingers and pointed at Ignis.
"What?" Ignis asked.
"I'm gonna figure out what that face means one of these days!"
"I am not pulling a face!" Ignis sighed, sitting up in his chair and copying a few more files onto his flash drive so he could bring it home with him. He didn't plan to make Y/N stay here any longer than she had to be today.
It was only about ten minutes later his phone buzzed on his desk.
"The council meeting is done. I'm going to retrieve Y/N and take her home. Neither of us wants to be here today."
"Understandable. Let me know if you need anything."
"Thank you Gladio," Ignis said before shutting down his computer, grabbing his flash drive and some files off his desk, and making his way to the door.
A/N:
Here's the part where I apologize profusely for such a late update. I've been busy some months. I forgot some months. I kept putting it off some months. I didn't mean for it to be this long between updates. I never do but it happens, unfortunately.
Some have asked how I've been doing, and honestly I'm doing way better than I used to be. A few things happened in the last couple months that brought raw emotions right back up to the surface but I'm working it through it all pretty well. I think I'm finally exiting the angry stage which just leaves me...sad. But I'm not as sad as often so that's progress.
Thanks to everyone who left kudos and comments. I see every one and it always makes me feel so special that so many people love something that I wrote. I plan to keep writing this and going till the end. The next few chapters should be a little light hearted until the heavy stuff hits again. Hope you all are still enjoying and I'll try and not wait so long for the next update!
