At Central Park, Xena was standing in a clearing when Apep appeared from another large portal.
"You're really like the legends say," said Apep.
"And what do they say about me?" asked Xena.
"That you're always ready for a fight!" said Apep before swinging his tail at her.
"Sounds about right," said Xena as she went to stop the tail with the Godslayer. However, it still hit with enough force to send her flying into the treeline.
"Did you really think it would be that easy to stop me?!" asked Apep while laughing. His tail had only received a slight cut from the weapon which was bleeding but not bad enough to hurt him. Meanwhile, the others were back at the base watching news coverage of the fight as it came in from a helicopter over the park.
"That had to hurt," said Hades.
"He's far stronger than what we had thought," said Aphrodite.
"How is she supposed to defeat that thing?!" asked Xena's dad as he held his wife who had started crying after seeing her daughter being sent flying back that attack.
"Xena's no push over either, I have no doubt that she will be able to defeat him," said Gabrielle. Even though she said that, Gabrielle was unable to hide her concern from her expression. She was also unaware of the fact that a small golden light was coming off her hands.
"Now then, let's finish this," said Apep while closing in on where Xena had landed.
"If that's what you want," came Xena's voice before an arrow of energy shot by Apep's head, cutting deeply into his cheek as it grazed him.
"Then I'll make sure to kill you fast," she said while walking out holding a golden bow in her left hand.
"What happened to your sword?!" asked Apep.
"Godsalyer is more than just a sword," said Xena as the bow turned into a spear at the same time she thrusted it into Apep's right eye after suddenly appearing right in his face.
"Gah!" screamed Apep while reeling back, blood gushing out from the wounded eye socket.
