"What are you making today?" Kagome asked, hands in the back pockets of her jeans as she leaned against the doorway.

"Mizuki wishes to have a tea party," he replied, as if that was answer enough.

"So instead of just buying her a plastic set, you're going to make her one from scratch."

Sesshoumaru adjusted his position, eyeing the glob of eggshell-coloured clay in front of him. "She plans on helping me with the finishing touches."

Kagome chuckled, shaking her head. "You could've just said you wanted to spend time with her."

"I wish to spend time with her."

A soft smile touched her lips, and she crossed the room, pressing a kiss to his temple. "And I love you for it." He hummed in agreement, solely focused on his task. She never held it against him; Sesshoumaru went through stretches where he couldn't see anything but his work, but when he finally came up for air, he was the attentive mate she needed.

Kissing him again, she patted his shoulder. "Let me know when you plan on having the party, and I'll make treats to go with it."

His eyes finally flickered toward her. "The lemon tarts?"

"If you like." They were his favourite, and she knew it, having to make a double batch if she ever wanted any for herself. Grunting, he turned back to his work, the clay slowly taking shape as it spun around, and Kagome leaned against the doorway again, content to watch him for a few minutes, enjoying the view until Mizuki demanded she play cards with her.
