Gust of summer wind sweeps stubborn midnight strands of hair astray—which was originally kept in a tight knot she usually wears for missions—against the midnight itself. Tight knot no longer, she will have to redo her hair. But the clock is ticking, any minute—moment now, he will arrive.
Not the presence she usually sensed in any Alpha she ever encountered, his sign of arrival was only a more noticeable breeze—that the difference was only noticeable because of her hair being kept unwind—and a whisper of authorative baritone that undeniably belongs to an Alpha.
"Shishi*."
In the calling of her Anbu name a mere three feet from her left, she immediately stiffens, her perception of the surrounding heightens, reflecting the years she has been trained.
The first thing she learned before granted the title of an Anbu was the compulsory exchange of code names in every first encounter a personnel has with the other. Because switching partners in the middle or even at the later half of the mission is something of ordinary.
She activates her Byakugan and begins to match the pattern of chakra that has been engraved in her head from the data book—the one the captain himself has ordered for her to access even before meeting each other themselves.
It is notorious that Captain Uchiha only does immaculate works with also immaculate preparations.
"Taka-taichou*," she replies, deactivating her Byakugan.
The captain makes a curt satisfied nod behind porcelain mask of a hawk. "We move now." Without waiting for an answer, he turns then leaps to another branch behind them.
If before she hasn't felt other distinguished traits of an Alpha aside from his voice alone, the longer they are within close range of stealth moving, the more aura surrounding him starts to shift, growing stronger and in the heavy side of oppressive, as if he himself let loose.
Controlling their own aura is another trait of an Alpha and the majority of the world population agrees the trait belongs to the more refined ones. When they say Captain Uchiha only does immaculate works, they are merely stating facts. She herself witnessed it firsthand from their first encounter.
Thus, sensing his growing aura is a peculiarity she knows she shouldn't have. But because she sees no sign of him slowing, nor showing signs of abnormality, she decides to set the thought away for she has no room for deep thinking now. She needs to concentrate her being on finishing the mission, foremost to escape the enemy's territory.
For years, she has been on missions with myriad types of Anbu. Majority would be Beta ones, a two or four-man team at most with no captain. Because a captain is the position for only Alphas, and captains rarely take part in lower class missions. For years, she's been thriving and aiming higher and lesser missions had been officially a history at the start of winter last year. There are types of Alpha who can't suppress their aura completely, or just partially, in which the former won't make it into captain, even rarely an Anbu. That's why, Anbu is a profession more suitable to less noticeable personas—the Betas. But the one in control has to be an Alpha—can only be an Alpha.
The wind around them feels warmer, the usual indication she perceives that her body has adapted to the usually cold winds of the night. Her long hair, that reaches the small of her back, sways wildly backward, but never be of a hurdle in her movement. Perspiration starts to build up, visible on her forehead, running down her temples, down her neck, and accumulating in the folds of her body. At the moment, she is already panting when they barely reach the safety border of their country's territory. The rapid beating of the heart she feels is another sympathetic response to fleeting in high speed, yet it echoes harder and deafens the ears that should be alert for any sign of invasions.
When she starts to heed all these symptoms she is having, as if any unconscious inhibitions before break, they double in intensity. Her eyesight blurs, tears pouring out of control. It becomes harder and harder to breathe. Her limbs start to quiver uncontrollably, making it impossible to keep up with the raven haired captain. The initially warm atmosphere starts to feel hot, setting her whole being inflamed, particularly so at the northern region between her legs.
She starts to realize where the heat is coming from. It isn't from the wind, it is sourcing from herself.
In the midst of unshed tears and shuffling, she can see her captain make an immediate turn and sprint towards her lowering form.
She shakes her head violently. He can't see her like this. Not now. Not ever.
The moment he finds out, she is done for.
Despite the strong urges to escape, she is falling. But Captain Uchiha is in time to catch her. Holding her beneath her shoulder and knees, the captain scans their surroundings with eyes so dark, they resemble the color of charcoal.
"Shishi?!" he hisses, his legs bringing them closer to something—something she doesn't have the capability to think of.
The more they move, she then starts to hear distant rippling of water. He is… taking them towards a stream?
It doesn't feel so long before he settles her on damp ground, some rustling later, he moves her to the left with dry texture of thin aluminium plastic. The only thermal blanket an Anbu will own in a mission.
"Shishi!" he hisses again, hands now busy with her bag. "Hyuuga—what the fuck?"
She doesn't know why he was calling for her or when he started calling her real name. All she feels is hot. Hot and unbearable. All rationals are being oppressed to the peripherals by this carnal sensation.
"Where is your suppressant?!" he demands, tone slightly higher to reach her clouded mind.
He knows.
She is done for.
Still, she needs to answer him. But it is very hard to breathe, let alone speak. She can only choke a whimper.
"Hyuuga anwer me, damn it. Where is your damn emergency injection?"
"Shuriken—," she tries, in between pants, "pouch."
Her attempt to answer must be not enough for he demands more urgently. "What?!"
"Shuriken pouch!" she tries harder and it's already starting to take tolls on her body.
"You've taken the pill ones?" he says, agile hand taking a course towards the side of her right thigh, where the shuriken pouch is attached.
She nods her head vigorously to porcelain hawk—with sharp onyx beads beneath two holes of the eyes—which she regrets immediately after.
The captain must have found the disposable syringe, but his hand still hastily roams about to find the alcohol swab somewhere inside the hidden slit. That's when she decides to voice her concern.
"Do you know where?"
He doesn't immediately reply and she has to blame herself for the barely whispered concern.
But when he finally grasps it, he replies, his tone void of emotions, "I know." Without warning, he slays the tights on her right thigh with his kunai, rubs the place with antiseptic and plunges the needle perpendicular to her skin. "It's your thigh."
It was too sudden, but she has no right to complain. But finally she releases a sigh, the medicine should take effect in about five minutes at maximum.
Five minutes has passed, but she feels nothing—
something is wrong—
because everything intensifies.
"Why isn't it working, Hyuuga?" It isn't the same tone that is void of any emotion he used not too long ago.
Even the captain himself is starting to panic.
"I—I don't know!"
"Damn it. It's our last day and now you're luring in Alpha enemies?"
She has been crying the whole time, but his words just now have managed to crumble any barrier of any kind that she initially had held dear.
"Fuck it."
"Just inject the second dose!" she cries. Now tears, sweats, pants, and quivers are all uncontrollable.
"And cripple you for the rest of your life?"
Her eyes widen. In any situation she would be touched, knowing about the little camaraderie that has been formed between them in just a short time.
"I know, being an Omega is not your choice."
There he said it.
The secret is now out in the open.
"And not to cripple you is my choice. Emergency suppressant only works in one dose in a day. You know that."
She cries harder. "Just kill me."
"My record is to bring back every partner I am with, alive. That includes you."
"What is your solution?!"
There is a pause. A pause long enough for her to direct wary pearly eyes from his knees on the ground to what is supposed to be any semblance of emotion shown on his face but is hidden beneath the mask.
"I'll have to violate you. But you have to be on the same page with me."
