Dean looked at Jaya's name flashing across his screen. She had never called him before. He hit the green button and put the phone to his ear.

"Hello?" He asked.
"I wanna apologize for blowing up at you last week," she said.
"Water under the bridge," he said.

He heard her breathe a sigh of relief and it made him smile.

"Is there any other reason you're calling? You don't usually call me," he said.
"Seth was called back to shoot for another episode. They apparently felt like his role had some extra meat on the bone," she said.
"What are you saying?" He asked.
"I'm saying I'm alone tonight," she answered.
"Oh!" He grinned. "I'm in room 214."
"I'm on my way," she said.

He hung up and walked over to open the door. She stood in the open doorway a few minutes later. She walked inside and into his arms. For a while they just stood there with their arms around each other.

"I'm sorry," she said.
"I'm not mad," he said. "Yes, it hurt to see you walk away but I was angry at myself. He managed to push my buttons so I pushed back and threw you under the bus. I'm the one who needs to apologize. I'm sorry, angel."

She tilted her head and looked up at him.

"He doesn't suspect anything other than you being a criminal," she said.
"Good," he chuckled.
"What did he say to piss you off?" She asked.
"That he got the girl out of licking Vince's ass and that I should be over my crush by now," he said.

She broke out in a grin and started giggling.

"How long have you been crushing on me since he knows?" She asked.
"Since the day I first met you," he said.
"Wow, really?" She asked.

She stopped giggling when he nodded. It was the truth. He had fallen for her the moment he laid eyes on her.

"Why didn't you ever make a move on me?" She asked.
"Make a move on the boss's daughter? Yeah, that would have gotten me fired instantly," he said.
"Yeah, you're probably right," she sighed. "And instead we ended here."
"Here we are," he sighed too. "I won't apologize for loving you though."
"What?" She asked.
"I don't care if this is all I'm ever gonna get," he said.
"What the fuck did you just say?" She asked.

He paused and ran the last few sentences through his head. He had just said that. He hadn't meant to. It just came out.

"I love you," he said.
"You need to stop that," she said.

He sighed and shook his head. He was not taking back those words. They were the truth.

"I love you," he repeated. "I understand if you're not willing or ready to say that to me. I accept that you might never say it to me, but I love you, Jaya. I'm not taking back those words and I'm not going to stop loving you."

He pulled her into his arms and held her tight.

"I know our situation isn't ideal but it is what it is. We gotta make the best out of it," he said.
"I'm sorry for doing this to you," she said.
"Ssh," he shushed her. "It's okay. I'm not mad. I love what you're doing to me."

He looked over at the bed and stroked her hair.

"Wanna lie down and watch a movie?" He asked.
"That sounds nice," she said.
"Should we order room service? Some snacks and soda maybe?" He asked.
"And hot chocolate," she said.
"Hot chocolate," he chuckled. "I'll order that."

He placed his hands on her cheeks and leaned down for a kiss. It felt like a crisis had been averted for now. He gave her a smile and one more kiss. He was not going to try anything tonight unless she wanted it to happen. Having her in his arms would be enough for him.
