A/N Because Thomas works with the Skarloey engines canonically, Rowena considers him a friend due to his working with her, where his and her tracks both are. To the guest reviewers of my last chapter, Alex is a girl, Alexandra, but called Alex because her driver thinks she's too little for her full name.

Rowena was going along the line singing, but then she found her standard-gauge friend Thomas wailing. "What's wrong?" she asked.

Thomas's driver said, "He got a reminder of his scrapped siblings, so he's wailing his broken heart out all over again, just like in the days after he heard they died.", as he softly dried his engine's tears with a cloth.

Rowena saw the sorrow and grief on her friend's face from the narrow-gauge track beside his standard-gauge one. She couldn't bear to see the huge water droplets in his wet with tears eyes, so she began to cry, sobbing and sniffling.

"Dr-Dry m-my t-tears, Dr-Driver", she said. Her face was wet with tears and every word was another heartfelt sob.

Rowena's driver came to comfort her. "There, there, Rowena," he said, pulling out a cloth from his pocket. "I wish I could wipe your sadness, so I shall wipe the tears from your eyes. I'm here for you, so let it all out.". He gently rubbed her cheeks and softly wiped her tear-filled eyes.

James came down the track and found Rowena. He said,"You dirty little diesel! Go back to the Mainland and the Other Railway, cry-engine."

Rowena cried more, letting out another sob. "I-I h-hurt i-in m-my h-heart," she said. She sniffled again hard, coughed as she choked on her tears and hiccupped. She gasped and gulped, shaking as her eyes poured tears, not once stopping and let her driver comfort her.

He said, as he continued to wipe her tears away, "I can feel how much pain you're in. You can rely on me to dry your eyes. You've got my empathy in this hurt.". He pressed the cloth to her eyes, letting her sob into it and wiped all her tears away as best could.

Rowena sobbed and sobbed until she ran out of tears. Her driver dried her last tears away, gently patting any stray tears from her cheeks and dapping the moisture from her eyes until they were dry. Then, he went back to the cab with the sodden cloth and refilled her radiator.

Rowena said, "If I had a driver like that female steam engine whose driver let her rust before drying her eyes, I'd rust dreadfully, because I weep so.". She felt better after sobbing with her driver's comfort.

His reply was, "As long as I'm your driver, you can rely on me to dap those tears from your eyes. I love to comfort you, because you feel better when I dry your face and eyes. So, when I can, I shall dry your tears."

Rowena and Thomas set off, working alongside each other. She thought, I'm glad to have a driver who can handle constantly wiping my face and eyes when I cry. Thomas seems to like comfort when he gets sad. I always like to see an engine like me, alive, that is, have their tears wiped, if they've got tears in their eyes.

Rowena said, "I've never seen you sad until now, but I quite like to have my driver dry my tears."

Thomas said to his little friend, "I quite like comfort when I'm sad. My first driver told me all about crying and dried my tears with a cloth the first time I ever cried and I liked it."

They worked and talked, until it was time for Thomas to go back to his branch line and Rowena went on with the rest of her day.

A/N I just got inspired to have Rowena cry with Thomas.
