Do not enter the forest, they had been warned, and they had forgotten. What were they supposed to do now? What could she do; she, who could not make herself heard despite her strident screams, amidst that darkness that was taking her?
Her hand laid extended to the ever-so-further figure of InuYasha, who was not hearing her anguish. The dry roots of the trees intertwined with her fingers, almost like a long-awaited reunion. It was then when InuYasha looked back at her, unperturbed, and Kagome knew that the forest was her enemy, that the forest would take her away; that the forest had taken him too.
