This takes place in the games universe, Post blood and wine.
Ciri sat at her favorite spot on the estate, it was a tree overlooking the entire property of Corvo Bianco, she could see the house, the vineyard, the garden, everything. It was already sunset, with the sky filled in with a beautiful orange, but there was something sad about it but no one could put a finger on it. She was depressed about something, she didn't eat dinner or leave her room the entire day, burying her head in her pillow. This was the only time she left her room to get some fresh air. Geralt went up to join her. She was dressed casually; wearing clothes she would not wear on the path. He saw that she was looking at the back of her midallian with a very personal message engraved on the back they gave her for her birthday last year. A platinum swallow, that she vowed to never take off. Geralt sat next to her pressing his back against the tree, seeing what problems had possessed her the entire day.
"Is everything alright?" He asked.
"I should leave. And never come back. I see how happy you and mother are and I think I would ruin that." Ciri had to force it out of her trying not to cry, trying to keep it together.
"I should leave and never come back." She started whimpering as the cracks in the dam started to show, as her eyes began to water up.
It hit Geralt heavily, why would she think this way, after what has happened to both of them.
"Don't think that way, you're one of my favorite people in the world, nothing could replace you, nothing would."
"But I'm not related to you!"
She wailed, her makeup was getting smeared all over, her tears rushing down violently like a waterfall. With snot falling down.
"Who cares if you are related to me or not. I still see you as my daughter."
Ciri got on Geralt and hugged him tightly, wrapping her arms around his back and her head under his.
She began crying hard, like she was sentenced to death.
"Like I said you're one of my favorite people in the world, I have no notion where that came from but get it out of your head." Geralt paused to breathe "I love you, I love being a part of your life as you are a part of mine."
"You're only saying that because I'm your destiny!"
"Ciri, you're something more, something much more."
It hit her, the words he said, sending her back to Yurga's hut remembering those words he told her 10 years ago.
Remembering all the countless things he did for her just so she can be safe and follow her dreams all flashing right before her eyes.
"I love you, dad!" She yelled, letting go all she had left. Sobbing violently.
"I love you too, my sweet little girl." Geralt hugged her tight.
"I will do anything for you."
"Anything." he whispered.
"Stay with me, please!" Ciri sobbed
"I'm not going anywhere, if you ever need to cry I'm here for you."
"I'm tired of everything! the killing, the running, death breathing down everyone I love necks, everything! I don't want to be brave or strong! I want to be Vulnerable around you! I just want to be in your arms and scream and cry! I just want to stay in your arms forever! The same arms that protected me when I was a little girl from the world's dangers!"
She took a large breath in.
"Please let me stay here forever!" She sobbed, struggling to put the words out while her voice cracked.
"The door to the house is always open for you." Geralt kissed her head.
Ciri loudly sobbed for well over 15 minutes. All her demons past and present came back alive tormenting her. Geralt rubbed her back trying to comfort her, whispering in her ear doing everything he could; trying to help her set her demons to rest, but they continued coming.
"When I was on the run, from the hunt, when I was fleeing world to world not knowing where I was going! I began thinking of suicide! Wanting to end it all! I was thinking you and mother were dead! I want to be with the two of you forever! I don't want to leave you! Never again!" She sobbed, her voice cracking and rasping with every word.
Her tears and snot landed on Geralt but he didn't care about that. He hates seeing the state she is in or the thoughts she had while on the run. He too also shed a tear, he thought crying was impossible to him, but it happened to him.
She continued sobbing for 20 minutes until it finally became sniffing.
"Thank you for telling me, I know you sometimes bottle stuff in you."
He muttered.
"Besides, why did you think this way?" He asked.
"I did some self reflection when on the run from the hunt, I looked back at all the mistakes I made, the people I harmed, the things I did for my own selfish gains, what I've done to my own body. I regretted it all. It became overwhelming, I felt my life had no purpose whatsoever. Then something happened this morning that caused me to snap. I forget what but it was something silly. That's when I lost it." She looked at Geralt, her eyes bloodshot red from all the crying with some of her tears and snot landing on him as she sniffed.
"I'm glad we were able to figure it out. Come on, let's go back inside." Ciri got off Geralt and stood up, so did Geralt.
"Can you give me a piggyback ride?" Ciri asked somberly
Geralt knew she was upset so he squatted down and she jumped on with her legs out and her arms dangling from his traps, burying her head where his shoulder and neck meet.
Geralt started walking around the property.
"Where do you want to go?" He asked.
"Home." She responded
"Ciri, this is your home."
"No, you're my home, Geralt."
She hugged Geralt tightly, bracing her eyes for nothing else besides tears.
He softly smiled for a moment as he walked around the property until she fell asleep. Once she fell asleep he took her to her room and placed her on her bed.
"Geralt, wait." She called sluggishly
"What is it?"
"Stay with me for a bit."
He sat on her bed by her feet. She wrapped around his neck and brought him into her lying on top of her. He wrapped his arms around her.
"I like what you have done to your room." He commented.
Ciri's room was decorated by her, it had her dresser, bath, and her hamper the important items. She also had some of her proudest achievements on display like swords, works of armor and cherished items that brought along good memories to her, like her first silver sword or her amulet that Triss gave her at Kaer Morhen. She used to display monster heads until Yennefer complained about the stench; she now has them in the training shed Geralt and her built to hold all the training gear and equipment.
But the piece she's most proud of is a portrait of her with Geralt and Yennefer. With her sitting in the middle of them all of them smiling, sitting on Yennefer's couch outside.
"Thank you." She smiled slightly, she invested a lot of work and money into her room.
"Can you tell me a story?"
"You like my stories don't you?"
"I adore them."
Geralt told Ciri about a previous contract he had done. He saw her fall asleep, peacefully and wrapped her in her quilt. Her quilt was thin lined with white silk, perfect for the heat in Toussaint and made up of different patterns she found on her adventures as a Witcher spanning from the Yaruga to Kovir to Skellige and some patterns from Toussaint. She made the quilt herself during one of her visits home wanting something to do with Yennefer that isn't brewing or magic.
"Good night Ciri." He whispered then kissing her on the forehead.
"Wait." She sheepishly called out.
"Sleep with me."
Geralt went back to her and started carrying her, with her quilt still wrapped around her like a cocoon. He took her downstairs to his room and laid her down softly on his bed. Yennefer hasn't joined them yet. Geralt then stripped down to his underwear and climbed in bed laying on his back. Ciri laid on top of him.
"Let me stay here forever." She cried, whispering.
"Nothing is stopping you." He added.
She softly smiled and wrapped him in the cocoon herself. She placed her hands on his chest and ear on his sternum, She could hear his heartbeat. She flipped her midallian so that it is on her back, Geralt took his midallian and put it on his shoulder with the chain still on his neck.
"I love you Ciri. I can't imagine a world without you in it."
"I love you too Geralt, I always want to be by your side."
Ciri fell asleep filled with peace. Geralt kissed the top of her head, Then wrapped his hands around her and fell asleep as well. About an hour later Yennefer entered the room and found the two of them asleep. She smiled as she slipped into a nightgown and laid next to the two of them. She kissed both of them and fell asleep, on this once chaotic and lonely, painful, depressed day to a peaceful quiet night.
