Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Halo. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I do not own Halo and such, 343, and a few others do.
26-year-old Nina Kovan paused to stab the last of the brutes chasing her… The Spartan looked up at this damned ring.
It was always a ring. She was aware of how many times the UNSC had landed forces upon a Halo… Now?
Now they were stranded here, the UNSC fleet had been trashed, wreckage which was tossed onto a new planet.
Nina hummed to herself before she looked to the ridgeline. Her armor read zero hostiles… She seemed to be alone.
The Spartan-IV lay down on a stone, laying her rifle next to her before she pulled off her helm before she looked to the side.
There was a pair of footsteps next to her before she gripped her rifle.
The footsteps stopped, there was a softer pair as if they were sneaking and then she turned, greeted by the glint of MJOLNIR.
Another Spartan, an IV held a BR-75 rifle and the Morrigan class MJOLNIR armor. The Spartan hummed and lowered his rifle, holding it gently.
"Holy crap…." He stated to which she grabbed her helm.
"Where did you come?" Nina asked to which the Spartan gestured over the hills.
"Lifeboat 227… Heard there was UNSC personal…" He said before he crept forward.
"You with another team?" Nina asked to herself more than to him.
"No… Got cut off. I was with Fireteam Caymen." He said before he looked around. "I would not stick around. You left a trail… There is another phantom… Spartan Killers." He stated, gesturing.
The two Spartans turned, watching as a Phantom swung around the hill.
They ducked behind a rock, lifting their weapons as the craft flew off, the turret lazily swinging back and forth.
"Caymen Squad alive?" Nina asked as he nodded.
"Headed into the forest last I checked… They were with Majestic last I checked… We got split up but they are down." The Spartan stated.
Nina hummed and then looked through the scope of her rifle. There was a LOT of Banished moving towards the Morte Reverie. The Spartan next to her knelt as both watched the phantom.
"How did you get up?" Nina asked, questioning it before he tapped his back.
"They have not moved half an army anywhere in months… I think they are after something big." The Spartan stated before he sighed.
Nina wanted to say something but she was thrown off. She did not know if the rest of Fireteam Shadow was okay, they were all split up and she had been forced to lead a few groups of marines here and there, disrupting the Banished here and there.
The Spartan next to her began to set off towards the site where a half dozen Phantoms and even a dreadnought were moving towards there.
Nina blinked before deciding it was better if every Spartan stuck together. He looked at her and then back to the crash site.
"You know attacking an entire dig site is suicide," Nina said before the Spartan shrugged.
"We aren't going anywhere and if they get the ring? Everyone dies… Anything big enough to make the Banished trip over each other? It must get trashed." He said before Nina sighed.
Fair point. Rescue due to the beacon would not be for weeks if not months and they had to ensure the Banished did not fire off the ring before something happened.
The Spartan was silent… And she could tell he would go to his death either way regardless if she did something or not.
So? Nina decided it was better to deal with this than not… The sooner they managed to relax and get out of here.
Nina hummed, pausing to herself as she slowly followed the Spartan, looking at him and then thought of it.
"Spartan Nina," Nina stated as he turned, visor glowing a bit.
"Spartan Doran." He said before they started to set off. "I haven't seen another Spartan in weeks, I was beginning to think all of us were hunted down… Spartan killers are everywhere." Nina heard.
She stayed silent and thought of the rest of Fireteam Shadow. Scattered to the wind and hunted down to the last soldier.
Perhaps it would be just a handful of Spartans left… He seemed to be prepared for it all.
Author Notes
Phew. The first chapter is done! I want to thank the site for adding the characters I wished for. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will be 900-6500 words and will be mostly following the plot of the game with some changes. The next chapter will be delayed and will show Nina and Doran meeting whom the Banished are hunting. Until then, Lighting Wolf is out!
