Congratulations! You have died!
What? Wasn't I just sitting in my bed reading fanfiction? "What do you mean exactly? I- How did I die?" Okay, so maybe I'm not the smartest questioning what is apparently the only thing in this black void after death.
Firstly it is just as I said, you are dead. Secondly you're thread of Life was accidentally cut and wasn't recovered in time.
Huh, I guess Norse mythology was at least somewhat correct. "Not that this isn't neat, but what happens now? I'm dead, and I don't want to go back to that hellhole of a world if I don't have to." I say being truthful to the entity that can probably wipe my existence off the face of reality.
Well, I'm glad you asked! Since your death was an accident you have been given three wishes before you are sent to another world. These wishes can be anything as long as they aren't too powerful.
I look at the textbox with glee as my mind runs the length of a planet a second. "So I can have basically anything I want. This makes it so hard to choose." I murmur as I look at the now blank screen as it waits for my choices. As I look at the screen an Idea pops into my mind. "Can I use my first wish to keep my memories in my new world?" I ask to make sure I won't forget who I am, I know I'll change but I want to still be me.
Alright you can keep your memories, many people forget that reincarnation wipes memories in the excitement. Second wish?
"Can I be reborn in My Hero Academia?"
That is easy to do. Last wish?
"Can I have a quirk I create?"
Hmm, alright however it can't be like All for One. Everyone asking for one like it has gotten in over their head and died because of it if they remember their past lives.
I smile and nod. "Can I have a piece of paper to write on?" I ask a notebook appearing in my hand as I smile and begin to write.
Many hours later.
Smiling at what I wrote I look back at the screen noticing it's light faded a little bit like a power saving mode. "Alright, I'm finished. Most of it was just the subsidiary parts to make it work and not act out of the ordinary." Smiling as the notebook disappears I wait for a moment before becoming a little confused and tired before I realize the world is going white. "Oh what the hell? Am I being deleted or transferred?" I wonder aloud before nothing...
Gah, fuck that is a headache and a half. Where even am I anyway? Looking around I see posters and memorabilia stirring up dread inside me. "Oh they didn't." Looking around my- the room I see a computer directly forward of the door, a side door immediately connected to the door which I hurry through finding it to be a bathroom. "Please please please." I murmur as I look in the mirror and sigh seeing I do not look like Izuku Midoriya. Seeing myself in the mirror causes a wave of memories to crash over me making the relief I felt evaporate immediately. I remember going to Aldera pre-school and middle school, up to my senior year. While being bullied for being quirkless my entire life despite not having the second joint.
My name is Izuma Chikai Midoriya. Fuck. Okay so I took over the main characters body and now cannon is derailed forever. Looking at my face I take in my appearance, with so many sub quirks I had basically gotten to customize my appearance to what I wanted to to be. Firstly my eyes didn't seem like regular ones with near invisible iris that hide where I am looking in the white of the sclera a "mouthless" face that cracks open sounding like cracking porcelain when I open it quickly, but silently when I do it slowly sealing every time I want my mouth to stay closed. "Talking one two three." I say watching it stretch but not break open as I talk. Actually all of my skin looks like it is made out of porcelain even through it's not. Looking down into my turtleneck I see body markings resembling a vivisection drawn onto skin. They are a visual subset from a quirk that makes it easier for my body.
Looking at my clothes I smile, which doesn't show up on my face due to how my mouth works, I was always fond of turtlenecks and hoodies. They were so comfortable to me as I look down seeing a sports bra holding C cups while I feel the new addition in my jeans resting in my boxers.
"Izuma! Come down stairs, it's time for school!" I hear mom tell me from the Kitchen. Scrambling to get ready I get dressed in my School uniform looking out of the door. Obviously some things have changed as well as having been aged up as well since Izuma was eighteen and preparing to enter UA Collage of Heroics even without knowing her quirk. Now how do I tell mom that I changed overnight I wonder?
"Well no time like the present." I murmur walking into the kitchen to greet mom.
One faint and hour later.
So mom had fainted and, rightfully worried me before questioning me faster than I could respond, showing who I got my habit from. "Mom calm down, I'm fine. I am still me." I say trying to calm her down to reasonable levels of worry. Flinching at that thought because of how often those kinds of memories show up.
"But honey I don't understand how you could change so quickly in a day!" She expressed her thumb rubbing along my cheek.
"I know mom, do you think I had gotten sick because my quirk came in?" I ask unable to hide my excitement in my tone at having a quirk now, even if I was sick for an entire day before hand as my way of entering this body.
"I don't know honey, should we go to the hospital to see?" She says making me pause. I already know what it does, and probably know better then they do considering how long I spent making it. Sighing though this would probably be the only way it gets into the government and allows me to test it I nod.
"We probably should, just to make sure it isn't harmful." I say to sooth her worries. I really don't like doctors, although now with Izuma's memories I can see that it won't be like my old life. "Should I get dressed in more casual clothes or do we want to leave immediately?" I ask looking down at my school uniform I had bothered to put on. This does earn a sheepish look from mom as she hurries me into my room to change into more casual clothes. Chuckling I put on a dress shirt and turtleneck, sue me it looks good and is comfy, as well as a pair of black jeans coming out to Mom who starts the car ready to head to the doctors office.
"Well miss, it seems Izuma's quirk here did in fact come in, even if strange looking it is just the work of their quirk." The doctor says holding a clip boards with many more sheets of papers than you'd normally think a doctor'd hold such as radiation emissions and decibel ranges in case they were needed. "What we can say is that the quirk seems to fluctuate in power and effect very often. It is almost as if the quirk was trying to act like a bunch of different ones." The doctor had chuckled as Mom sighed in relief happy that nothing was wrong.
"But why did Izuma change so drastically?" Mom asked still casting worried glances at me as I bounced my leg. Nervous habit.
"Ah, that's easy to explain. Tell me miss Midoriya, do you know what biological impressions are?" He asks flipping through a few of the papers he had on his clipboard.
"I can't say I do, but what does this have to do with Izuma?"
"Well biological impressions, sometimes called Quirk Bleed-over, is when a parents mutations are passed down to the child even if it has nothing to do with their quirk. What had happened to Izuma here is that her quirk had awakened a lot of these latent mutations that littered her genetics. It is why she had gotten pretty sick, as her body was changing every cell to activate these whilst changing some unused ones to form their actual quirk." He explained setting the clipboard down as he looked at the two of us Mom much less stressed then when we had come in. "Regardless it seems Izuma's quirk is still unexplored, so I will issue you a temporary pass to use your quirk so that you may begin to learn it. Most people have their entire lives, Izuma here has only just gotten theirs. The pass lasts two weeks, and if you need more time you can convince a Pro hero to extend this duration to two months." He said smiling at mom and I before waving to us as we left.
While I wish it had taken all of school it sadly didn't meaning I had to go there. Sighing as I got out of the car I grabbed my backpack I carried everywhere, a habit I had kept from my first life. Walking in I was grateful that class had been going on as the principal was flabbergasted seeing me. He had quickly regained his composure however and put up a sickeningly sweet smile that I frowned at. It doesn't matter what facial movements I do, as long as I don't glare people won't know I'm doing it. "Ah Midoriya-chan, Midoriya-san. I hear Izuma has gotten her quirk, very different from what I imagined." He said eyeing me up and down in a way that set off red flags in my brain like fireworks.
"Yep, it took a lot of time but it has come in finally." I say keeping my voice happy sounding while I was still keeping my guard up from how he sounded. "I guess I should go to class now. Goodbye mom, goodbye Principle Mineta." I say as I walk off to get to my classroom. Every step I make making my feet feel like lead. Before I knew it I had arrived outside my classroom and took a deep breath before opening the door. When I did all talking immediately ceased as everyone was confused. Looking at my teacher I slung my backpack over my shoulder to allow me to fetch the doctors note from my pocket. "My quirk came in today, so I was late." I say explaining nothing else only showing, not allowing my teacher to touch, the slip that'd let me use my quirk. Walking through the isle to my seat I see Kac- Katsuki glare at me causing me to flinch, the only visible thing my face even can do. Sitting down I take the spider lilies off of my desk and toss them in the trash can. They really think that after Kac- Katsuki had told me to kill myself they could start to suicide bait me? Fucking Pathetic.
"Well it seems Midoriya-chan did get her quirk." One of the girls gossips in a faux whisper. "I wonder what Deku's quirk does?" Another whispers back as one occupant of the room furiously stands up beginning his march over. "So Deku, looks like you didn't have to jump off the roof, your quirk just make you look weird?" He shouts in my ear causing me to wince at his volume, even if he is always like that.
"W-well Kacchan, we don't know the f-full extent of it so the doctor asked me not to t-tell other people what it can do." I stutter out cursing Midoriya's memories for causing this while Katsuki glares at me with a face that if he trained it could kill from the sight alone. "W-what we do know however is that it s-seems to be very random!" I stutter out smirking as Katsuki grins.
"HAH! A useless quirk for a useless Deku!" He shouts laughing, causing many others to start laughing with him. Smiling to myself I let out an audible sigh before I pull out my textbook. And begin to write down what the homework for today was while Kacchan walks back to his desk propping his feet up on it not even paying me any attention. Smirking I begin to write down my quirk in a new notebook I snagged from home.
Notebook No 14: Hero Analysis for the Future!
Quirk: Card Castle
Type: Emitter
Owner: Izuma Chikai Midoriya
Description: Allows the user to summon five different sets of cards. Two look like tarot cards with 22 cards total inside both, very little changing other than some with different names. One looks like a standard deck of cards with a white and black Joker. One looks like a deck of 43 cards with many different cards inside only having a maximum of three repeating cards. The last one seems the most strange as every card in the 50 card pack is blank with only the letters UPC written at the bottom.
Smiling as I put my notebook back into my backpack I look at what was put in there smirking at the "official" description of my quirk knowing it is so, so much more. Looking up I notice Katsuki looking at me causing me to smirk. Summoning deck number one I begin to audibly shuffle it making more people's heads turn towards me interested in what I was doing. Tsubasa came up to me and tried to take the deck, only for it to reform in my hands turning to wisp in his. "O-oh Tsubasa-san did you want to draw?" I ask turning my head so that I look at his face weirding him out. "Yeah Deku, I wanna have one of your cards, see just how bad your shitty quirk really is!" He says causing every set of eyes to land on him and I making me grin widely. Nodding I hold up the deck so that he may draw. "Declare a number, draw that many cards." I speak in my best monotone voice freaking him out which makes him look around to see everyone urging him to do it.
Watching him take a deep breath I see him look a the cards before he spoke. "Two." He says before drawing a card expecting it to disappear, and when it doesn't he seems surprised. Looking at the card he drew he frowns before drawing the other. "What the hell does the Key and Sun do?" He asks causing both cards to go up in smoke as two things happen. Appearing in his hands instead of the cards is a pouch that seems to have the color of gold sewn into it in red being Tsubasa, and a slingshot that seems to hold glowing runes on it pulsating with energy. Smiling I look at him and tilt my head. "You have just gained a magical item you are proficient in, and a random Wonderous item. You have good luck." I say smiling as Katsuki comes over and snatches the things from Tsubasa growling as he shoves them in my face.
"What the fuck is this Deku?! Magic? You expect me to believe that? This is just a small pouch and this is just a slingshot with leds!" He growls before I frown and grab the small bag from him causing him to try and swipe it back as I move it out of his reach. "Then observe." I say in his face picking up Tsubasa's much bigger backpack and pushing it into the bag defying space as those watching's eyes widen like saucers. Tossing the bag to Tsubasa I pick up my own as the bell rings signaling lunch as I walk off leaving a stunned classroom behind me. Running away I turn the corner and go up to the third floor and into an empty classroom I use to have lunch in making sure to keep quiet. Opening my mouth slowly as to not cause noise I begin to eat a bento I had shoved in my backpack on new habit. Eating I smile as I think back to how fun my quirk will be to use. Hearing footsteps outside the door I hold still as the door opens and long fingers comes in, does a single non-thorough sweep before leaving causing me to sigh in relief.
Quickly finishing my bento I make my way to the roof to wait out the rest of lunch without having to deal with Katsuki's usual abuse. Looking around outside of the school I look back towards the middle of the school before getting an Idea. Summoning a different deck this one only holding 43 cards in it edited to fit having no opponent with cards of their own but no less powerful because of it. Smirking at its black center with orange cyclone following the edges iconic to any fan of the anime or game in general. "Well Asura's Wrath is confirmed." I say giddy as I look at the deck in my hand feeling the power locked behind tribute summoning. Chuckling to myself I see in the corner of my eye a black van pulling into the school driveway causing me to frown. "The fuck? This didn't happen in the show." I mutter seeing what seems to be criminals come out holding crowbars, one of them seeming to be this porcupine mutant.
Looking at them I look at the deck in my hand before I grin watching the deck shuffle itself while three cards separate into the extra deck. "Time to show these guys what an Egyptian God looks like." I say grinning as I draw five cards looking down at the criminals.
POV Shift: Criminal
It was suppose to be easy grab the winged kid, kidnap 'em, take 'em to the client and get paid. So why is there a god damn Kid on the roof yelling at us? "Hey! Stop or I'll use my quirk on you!" The brat yells down to use causing Frank to snicker. "Boys, pipsqueak is shouting she'll use her quirk on us. Ooo~ I'm so scared!" He mocks making his quills move in an exaggerated fashion. Sighing I check my kit again before looking where the kid was...was. "Fuck." I say seeing the other idiots look at me. "The kid, she disappeared from the roof!" I growl causing the idiots to realize what I meant. Looking forward I see the kid with the floating cards in front of the, now opened, doors.
"This kid really intends to play hero." I mutter in disbelief thinking she had gone to tell a teacher or something. Hearing me my colleges look at her body in obvious lust causing me to cringe. I work with them but I disapprove of their...indulgences every time especially during a job. "Why don't we indulge for a little bit, I mean she wants to play hero. Why don't we show her what happens when Heroes lose?" Frank asks with a grin causing Brad to grin with him while I look at her with pity. The hairs on the edge of my neck started to stand on edge as I see her start to glare feeling something isn't adding up as Frank steps forward.
POV Shift: Izuma
I was originally just going to call the cops and then stall them until they could get here, but with them talking about rape something recessed tried to rear its head. It didn't fully but the anger from it burned in my veins like hot lead. "I play the spell card Ancient Chant allowing me to add Ra from my deck to my hand." I say out loud for them drawing their attention as a large orange crystal appears between us for a moment before a roar was heard from my deck a card flying into it. Grinning in a manner unfit for a hero I glare at them faintly hearing cracking as my mouth shows a jagged grin. "I play from my hand Ra's Disciple allowing me to special summon both of my other Ra's Disciples from my deck." I say with a straight face as three Egyptian men appear in front of me wearing golden armor reminiscent of a birds beak on the hood of the armor that obscured their faces.
My smile remains as they are on guard, and while I can probably beat them with just Ra's Disciples I want them to meet just who these guys serve as my cracked grin grows wider. "I banish ancient chant to activate it's effect making The Winged Dragon of Ra gain the power of those I sacrifice to it, and play Souls crossing allowing me to sacrifice three monsters or effects of quirks to pay tribute and immediately summon something from my hand. I tribute all three Ra's Disciples to bring out The Winged Dragon of RA!" I shout my grin turning outright terrifying for these three as the three men turn into motes of light which raise up into the sky. Grinning as they look around frantically only to grin in the false hope the sound of a dragons roar shakes the school. In the air fire begins to burn harshly as two arms claw their way out a pheonix's head bursting out as it glares at the three who earned it's ire. Landing on the ground after materializing it glares at the criminals, the mutant and unknown who had talked of rape having fallen down, while the third running to the van they came in. The majestic bird was almost entirely a gold color with wings looking more like bat wings than bird wings talons looking like solid gold, and a glare that shared the ferocity of it's handler intricate detailing over it's body and face.
"RA!" I shout causing the massive 80 meter dragon to look at me as I feel weak sacrificing all my 'life points' into making this a beats causing it to grow yet another 120 meters. "Get them." I say with satisfaction watching Ra flatten the back end of the trying to flee van, and pin the other two, whom had passed out due to fear to the floor. "This is..." I murmur my cracked face sealing itself back up awestruck at Ra's size and power. If this is what Ra could do what could Slifer? Blinking as I hear the whirling of sirens I begin to "pass" my turn drawing more of my cards acting as if I was still figuring this out, Teachers having long come out and seen the massive fucking dragon, or maybe it was the other way around? Sitting on a bench near the doors I had come out of I waited for the police to arrive blinking when a man in a dark jumpsuit and grey scarf looking object came first. "Huh, Eraserhead is the first on the scene." I think as I wave to the very confused pro hero, who seems to be 40-45 although that may be his absolute lack of a sleep schedule.
"Hi there, uh, I'm just waiting for the police to take these guys. I was testing my quirk and heard them wanting to kidnap one of my classmates." I say patting the leg, around the ankle, of Ra as Eraserhead looks even more confused.
"So this dragon is...yours?" He asks looking at Ra which looks back at him Ra's gaze full of malice and hatred.
"Yep. I can get rid of Ra if you can arrest these guys." I say making Eraserhead sigh and nod.
"I play the spell card The True Sun God and add the card Sun God's Unification to my hand." I say a fiery manifestation of Ra, only 4 feet tall appearing before a card flies out of my deck into my hand. "I set and activate the effect of Sun God's Unification and sacrifice Ra in order to get Life Points equal to it's attack back." I say watching as Ra cracks before erupting into a shower of sparkles which circles and sinks into my skin. Looking back at Eraserhead after I "end" the duel causing my cards to fly back into the deck which dissipates into thin air I see him looking at me with a frown wondering what I did wrong in his eyes before it clicks as I rub the back of my neck. "I have to say what's happening when I use the cards. I can't stop it. Sorry." I say trying to shrink in on myself my cheeks turning more of a grey as I blush in front of the coolest hero in MHA.
"Uh huh. I'm going to need you to tell me what happened in more detail or I'll have to arrest you for Vigilantism." I panic fumbling into my pocket. "I-I was testing my quirk and saw and then I fought them to make sure they didn't kidnap my classmate and- Ow." I word vomit before being bonked on the head causing a stinging pain to rest on my head.
"Calm down, and explain it slowly." He says as the pain of the chop is already fading. Gulping I sigh and begin to explain omitting the parts about me already knowing my deck Intimately and just going off on instinct to summon the biggest monster instead. Once I am done the police have already arrived and taken the criminals into custody the conversation switching from what I did to what my quirk was and explaining that can of worms as well.
"So today is the first day you have truly used your quirk, and you summon a two hundred meter tall dragon." Eraserhead deadpans which makes me shrink in on myself.
"I mean, I also gave someone magic items by chance so there is that?" I squeak out making Aizawa sigh.
"That isn't any better." He says while he looks at the three criminals as they are hauled off. "We will have to call your guardian because you fought criminals you know." He says making me pause before the Izuma in me begins to panic.
"Oh no, this is probably going to worry mom so much!" I say freaking out as I look at Eraserhead who I can't tell what their thinking. "Um can I ask you a question before you leave though sir?" I ask wanting to capitalize on the fact Eraserhead was right here.
Eraserhead stares at me for a few seconds before he sighs. "Alright, but make it quick I have paperwork to complete." He says making me light up in happiness.
"C-can you help me train my quirk? I know you must be really busy teaching Eraserhead-san but-" I say before hunching and trying to make myself look smaller due to the influence of Izuma kicking in more than usual. "Sorry, that was probably a very selfish thing to ask. I'll just-" I murmur before my shoulder is grabbed making me stop.
"So you are asking if I will teach you. Do you think I have enough time to teach a high schooler who just got their quirk?" He asked looking directly into my eyes making me feel small as I freeze up a bit.
"I don't know! I thought you would considering how many students you expel a year, the fact that when you DO have students Present Mic always drags you to be a co-host during the sports festival so I figured..." I say taking a deep breath hunching over as his hand rests at his sides, his gaze locked onto my shoulders while I take a deep breath. "I figured if I had the best chance of being a hero you'd be the best to ask. The entrance exam is in ten months I want- no I NEED to be prepared for when it happens." I say as I straighten my back, not feeling that confident at all, as I stare into his eyes.
For a tense few seconds Eraserhead just looks into my eyes making my confidence start to waver before I see a grin begin to form behind his capture weapon. "You realize that the training I'll put you through will be hell right?" He asks to which I nod immediately I knew it and I wanted it. Seeing my resolution he chuckled. "Saturday 7:00 AM come to UA. Don't be late." He said before he began to walk off to talk to the police as I was moved to the front of the school and taken home by a worrying mom, who was more reserved than normal worrying just...sensing that I was happier than all of Tokyo combined.
This is the story of (how I met your mother) My Hero Academia.
