THE STORY STARTS HERE.

It was a dark and stormy night, when Tom came to call on the Potters. A fight broke out between the Marauders, and the Death eaters. By the time the Order of the Phoenix and other forms of backup came, all but three Marauders and a small baby Harry were dead. James had died fighting Peter, who was nowhere to be found after the fight, Lily had unfortunately been lost in a fight with both Tom and Bellatrix. The Order of the Phoenix joined the fight and as the battle rages Tom's body was obliterated, and the Death Eaters fled.

Sirius in a grief stricken rage ran after the Death Eaters to get revenge. So, Remus and Snape were taking care of Harry, as well sending the last will and testament to Aspen. However after a few days from the end of the battle Dumbledore came to take Harry away. Dumbledore couldn't leave Harry with Remus and Snape because Snape was needed elsewhere and Remus's condition getting out would mean Harry's removal and Remus's potential death. He would take Harry to somewhere safe and protected.

At least that's what Dumbledore said.

The morning that Petunia and Vernon found out that Harry was left on their doorstep Vernon almost stomped on him. Vernon read the note left on the child before tossing it at Petunia. Petunia read the note multiple times.

Lily Potter, formerly known as Lily Evens, passed away two days ago. This child is Named Harry Potter and is the only child of Lily and James Potter and the only remaining Potter. We formally ask you to care for the child until further notice. We will send compensation regularly.

"Not even a please or thank you," Vernon grumbled.

"It does mention child support at least," Petunia said, sitting on the couch staring at the letter in her hand. She felt suddenly very numb. And maybe a wee bit regretful. She finished reading the letter for a… how many times was it now? She looked to the baby. Harry was still sound asleep, wrapped in a rather thin blanket. She put her hand to his forehead and wondered how long he'd been left out in the cold

"No doubt in wizard money," Vernon grumbled. And that's how Harry came to live with his Aunt and Uncle.

Petunia sent Harry to bed again. Harry wasn't sure what he'd done wrong this time, but judging by Vernon yelling at her it must have been bad.

"Get over here boy!" Vernon shouted, grabbing Harry's collar and dragging the child after him, once they were outside he shoved Harry to the dirt. "What's this mess?"

"It rained sir," Harry said, scrambling to their feet. " I didn't mean for it to mess up the garden."

"Well you need to fix it," Petunia said. "Go get your shoes on. You'll need to buy the supplies."

"That's right and you're not allowed back inside until this is all fixed!" Vernon shouted, storming back in.

"Hurry up, Harry," Petunia said, after fetching their shoes. They were some of Dudley's old shoes but they were nicer then the ones Vernon had grabbed for her out of a trash can last year.

"What are you doing in my room?"

"Cleaning," Harriette tried to console her cousin. She didn't want him to hit her, but she couldn't do much about it if he decided to. "Aunt and Uncle said to." Harriette ducked.

"You had better not have broken anything!" Dudley wailed, knocking something over with his flailing fist. "What did you do?"

"I didn't! I- it was-?"

"Mom~! Harry's messing up my room again!" Dudley came at Harriette who could only cower in terror of being hit.

"Harry, what are you doing in Dudley's room!"

"Y-you asked me to cle-clean," Harriette tried. She was curled in on herself, trying to make herself as small as possible, it was surprisingly easy since she was small for a three year old.

"She broke my _!" Dudley screeched.

"Duddy-kins, it's alright, we'll just get you a new one," Petunia said, softly in a baby talk voice. "You, go to your room. Don't come out till you're asked for it!"

"Ye-yes ma'am," Harriette said, wiping her eyes, and running out of the room.

"Keeping Freaks like you is expensive you know," Vernon said. "You cost us a lot of money just by being here. You should be grateful we even let you stay." Vernon threw something at Harriette and she flinched away dodging the worst of the blow, though there was still some impact.

"Yes sir," Harriette said in the softest tone she could manage, while collecting the dirty laundry.

"Why do I have to go to school with him?!" Dudley complained. "He's just a gross freak."

"Maybe school will teach him how to be useful around here," Petunia said.

"Your cousin is such a crybaby," one of Dudley's friends said.

"What a loser? Can't afford better clothes, Freak?" one of his other friends.

"Let's chase him!" Another of the boys said. "Maybe he'll be more fun if we make him run."

"Run!" Dudley growled, and Harriette did.

"Get out of the way, freak!" Vernon growled shoving Harriette away.

"Here!" Petunia said, handing Harriette a bag of things. "Get in your room and don't come out until you're called for." Harriette took the bag and ducked into the cupboard under the stairs. "I mean it Harriette, I don't want to see you again today." Aunt Petunia sniffed, and then turned away. Harriette sniffled before opening the bag that Aunt Petunia handed her. The bag had a little light, and a small amount of food, as well as one whole box of pencils. Brand new! Harriette clenched her prize to her chest. Soft joy blooming in her heart.

I might add to this chapter sometimes.
