Item #: SCP-7149
Object Class: Keter-impetus
Disruption Class: Danger
Risk Class: Keneq
Clearance Level: Level 4
Special Containment Procedures: Temporary section, containment facilities.
Experimentally modified EC-682 armed with 5mm, 10mm, and 30mm rounds.
Vehicle modified to carry SCP-7149 and transported to previous test sites and depots.
Each cell is inspected daily for changes in appearance. Any observed changes are to be examined and recorded. Any SCP-7149-1 instance is to be collected and transported to the cell immediately.
Reinforced doors and warning signs.
Each time SCP-7149 is transported to a new location, its cells are to be locked and locked with reinforced doors. Any observers from the previous site are to be administered a Class A amnestics prior to re-entering the site.
Description: SCP-7149 is an amnestic spray used to incapacitate subjects temporarily. SCP-7149 has no active pharmacological effect on humans and its effects are irreversible upon exit. Its form and properties remain unchanged during activation, but completely reverse when unused.
Side effects: Subjects infected with SCP-7149-1 have a constantly shifting appearance of black, rotted flesh, with black sap leaking from wounds on their exposed flesh. The sap is drawn from wounds like a liquid or viscous wax.
SCP-7149-1 appears to come from all bodily fluids of the infected subject, including blood, saliva, urine, feces, vomit, breast milk, semen, and sweat. Smaller amounts of sap are also present in any other bodily fluid. They will persist in a viscous state even after use.
If a subject remains SCP-7149-1 for more than 20 hours, it will begin to shift, further decomposing and growing black necrotic protrusions from its exposed flesh. Infected subjects will retain this transformation for an extended period of time.
SCP-7149 was found in the possession of a missing D-class subject in a police raid on a warehouse in the ██████████ sector of ████████. SCP-7149 was claimed to be the hallucinogenic substance "gorillazis". Interviews with the suspect revealed that the substance had been given to D-1453 following a false report of SCP-████ exposure.
Addendum 7149-2 - Recovery Log:
+ Level 2 access granted to document recovery - Access granted to document recovery SCP-7149 was discovered by Agent ██████, observing a group of Foundation agents monitoring D-class attendance at a Zeta Global video conference. Agent ██████ and fellow agent ██████ approached and requested identification from a group of individuals who seemed to be dressed in ██████ police uniforms. Upon approaching the group, Agent ██████ noticed that their faces had the appearance of partially decomposed corpses, and their skin was visibly withering. He noted that the individuals bore the appearance of having a disease, and that SCP-7149 was present on several of them. It was noted by agent ██████ that the symptoms could not be explained by previous ██████ outbreaks, as they were anomalous in nature and displayed no pattern.
During an observation session of a D-class event at the ██████████ Sector, agent ██████ was noticed viewing the standard attendance list, which contained several new D-class subjects. After transferring over to the entrance of the tent, he observed an individual within the crowd whom he immediately recognized as D-class-1915. Agent ██████ requested to escort D-1915 to interview him.
A swarm of infected D-class subjects swarmed Agent ██████, attempting to drag him into the crowd. Agent ██████ attempted to fight off the infected subjects, and attempted to physically move his D-class subject out of the crowd to provide a buffer against them. Agent ██████ then observed a second swarm of infected subjects descend upon the group. Agent ██████ fled for his life, and he was able to join his partner and secure their exit from the tent. Upon investigating the area, it was revealed that approximately 75% of the D-class subjects observed had the appearance of D-class-1915.
Investigation into the origins of the D-class subject population was conducted in an attempt to locate the source of the infection. MTF Gamma-14 ("Hell Flames") was dispatched and upon meeting up with other MTFs and teams on the ground they discovered the source of the infection: a damaged-down, abandoned movie set on the outskirts of ████████. They found the corpses of four separate movie sets strewn across the area. Three sets of prop barrels in particular bore a large amount of deep necrosis, with the flesh around them slowly rotting away into black ash. A similar, circular pit was also discovered in the middle of one of the sets, inside of which the rusted and corroded remains of a fifth movie set lay.
These sets were identified as ones belonging to a 1999 Japanese horror film called [REDACTED]. Instances of SCP-7149 were discovered in five of the rotting corpses, with a fourth and fifth recovered on the outer walls of the pit. Agent ██████ took several pictures of these instances, which can be viewed in the attached document.
Addendum 7149-3 - Interview Log:
+ Level 4 access granted to document interview - Access granted to document interview Interviewed: D-class-1915 Interviewer: Agent ██████ Foreword: Agent ██████ provided the transcript for this interview. D-class-1915 began, "So there I was, minding my own business, watching all the cars zip in and out of the next shot. Then I noticed a tall figure. He was coming straight for me. I screamed and ran. But before I could escape, he ran straight for me and his hand latched onto my shoulder and jerked me into the wind. My screams were swallowed by the wind as he dragged me into the set. He was in the costume of one of the scenes from the movie. I pulled away from him and I could smell the rot. His hand was on the side of his face, and he was smiling. I screamed, 'You ruined my life!' He told me that I had ruined his life. He had been waiting a long time to kill me." Begin Log D-class-1915: "He told me that it was my fault. That my parents had died because I was a prat. He told me that he was the only one who could make me stop acting like I was. He said that if I killed myself, he would forgive me for my crimes and not kill me." End Log SCP-7149 was then entered into the drum of the conventional coffeemaker and dumped into the receptacle. The contents of the receptacle was consumed by SCP-7149. When asked about the effects of SCP-7149 on the corpse, Agent ██████ was able to confirm that SCP-7149 had absorbed every scrap of flesh, muscle, hair, and tissue from the body of D-class-1915.
Addendum 7149-4 - Test Log of Anomalous Item [DATA EXPUNGED]:
The "death" of D-class-1915 was replicated for ██/██/20██ through the addition of the anomalous item "Bananas Foster". D-class-1915 was seated at the controls of a roller coaster, at ████████████████████, but when SCP-7149 was added to the vicinity, the car began to accelerate and continued to accelerate. The subject began screaming in terror, until one final jolt, and the car came to a stop, crushed under the weight of the floor at the top of the track. At the time of the incident, SCP-7149 had consumed two bananas and nine pieces of vanilla cheesecake. The subject was brought to a local emergency room and admitted to the O5 Council immediately upon arrival. D-class-1915 has been seen sitting in his recliner for the last ██ days, facing the fireplace, chain smoking cigarettes and staring at the ceiling, wearing the same clothing from the day of the incident. (See photo). Interactions with D-class-1915 have been limited to verbal or written requests for food.
Addendum 7149-5 - Item History:
SCP-7149 was recovered from the location of an abandoned quarry located ██ km northwest of ████████ City, ██████████ in ██/██/20██. In addition to the following evidence, ██ full-sized bananas were recovered from the site:
Personnel assigned to the recovery of SCP-7149 and its anomalous effects were informed of the following: "We believe that it is a form of ecto-parasite. Like other ectoparasites, SCP-7149 is able to secrete a gel from its mouth, which penetrates the host and ultimately infects it through the bloodstream. We found samples of the material it secretes, including viscous, green ooze that we believe to be viscous mucus, on the underside of the subject's chair. We were unable to find evidence of the gel in any organic material or living tissue, but we hypothesize that its penetration is limited to tissue more susceptible to invasion than the host's own skin." [DATA EXPUNGED]
Addendum 7149-6 - Excerpt from Interview Log of D-class-1915 [REDACTED]:
D-class-1915: "He told me that he was a god, and that I was a prat. That I was supposed to be dead, and that he was the only one who could get rid of me. He told me that I had caused my parents' deaths because of my pratty, silly, acting. He said that if I killed myself, he would forgive me. He said that if I was going to grow up to be a miserable man, he would ensure that I would have a brief eternity of joy." D-class-1915's eyes did not focus when asked to name the object he had seen with the soot. The subject was permitted to continue. "He said it was a garden of animals, and that he was the sort of god that let the animals run free, the kind that didn't care about humanity. He said that he had come down to me, to finish me off. I guess he said that he had sent me away, so that I would die, and then he would get rid of me. He said he would make it painless. But he never said how. I asked him, and he just told me to do what he said. Then he told me that I was his." D-class-1915 sat quietly for the remainder of the interview. The interview was terminated when D-class-1915 cried.
Acquisition Log: SCP-7149 was recovered from the site of the incident with D-class-1915. The information on the object was recovered from D-class-1915, along with the following text:
The image on my monitor is gone. But so are all the things I ever knew and loved. The world is dark and cold and lonely. I can't even remember my name.
Addendum 7149-7: In order to acquire additional physical evidence of SCP-7149's anomalous properties, the following procedures are to be followed:
D-class-1915 must be placed in a D-class containment cell at the Mobile Task Force K3NAMB, Site-██. A draft Standard Operating Procedure 7149-2 has been written to fill in this period of time. One researcher at Site-██ must be assigned to D-class-1915, with all procedures pertaining to D-class containment being executed as they were in the event of D-class containment breaches. Physical evidence must be collected at each break point.
At the completion of all procedures, SCP-7149 must be allowed to return to the device from which it came.
When the SCP-7149 device comes within view of D-class-1915, it will assume a non-anomalous appearance and function until released. If D-class-1915 is not in the containment cell, the device will immediately be ingested. If D-class-1915 is in the containment cell, the device will awaken and once again assume its anomalous appearance and function, only with the images on the screen static and meaningless.
The following subjects have consumed SCP-7149 and regurgitated evidence of SCP-7149's anomalous properties:
- D-class-1516
- D-class-1518
- D-class-1915 (incidents ██/██/████ and ██/██/████)
The following subjects have not regurgitated evidence of SCP-7149's anomalous properties:
- D-class-1123
- D-class-1125
- D-class-1127
- D-class-1128
- D-class-1129
- D-class-1332
- D-class-1525
- D-class-1526
- D-class-1527
- D-class-1532
- D-class-1536
- D-class-1547
- D-class-1552
D-class-1313 was able to remember the anomaly's full name and documentation, but was not able to record the object's properties or name at any point during their feeding. This is believed to be due to the effects of SCP-7149-3.
Addendum 7149-1: After a period of 4 weeks and 2 days, D-class-1915 regurgitated physical evidence of SCP-7149's anomalous properties. However, this evidence was entirely new to Site-██ personnel. The physical evidence consisted of a dark object resembling a large, wrinkled, green apple and a sheet of paper with a single text line reading, "You can call me Daddy." The document had a typewriter-like font and had been printed on parchment paper. It had a hardcover jacket, and was marked with the Foundation seal. At this time, SCP-7149-1 was within D-class-1915's mouth, and began devouring the artifact. D-class-1915's existence was not known to any other personnel in Site-██, as Site-██ was unaware of the nature of SCP-7149.
After consuming SCP-7149-1, D-class-1915 will drop the object and begin looking for its next victim. Victims of SCP-7149's anomalous properties are generally weak and easily damaged, as well as easily affected by other individuals. Prior to regurgitation, any victim will be able to recall the beginning of their transformation, but no additional details.
In D-class-1915's case, it appeared that the apple had transformed into a fleshy, hollow, semi-liquid, ether-like mass, which devoured the document in one gulp. D-class-1915 kept regurgitating this same substance. Some victims noted the unusually thick texture of SCP-7149-1, and developed an abnormal fear of eating them. No victims reported any swelling or bruising, and no report has ever been made of a piece of the apple or the parchment being found.
D-class-1915 apparently eventually withdrew to its cell and began observing personnel without incident. It is unknown if D-class-1915 had a life prior to its attachment to SCP-7149, or if it originally created the object.
Addendum 7149-2:
After a period of 2 weeks and 10 days, SCP-7149's anomalous properties affected D-class-1915's humanoid form, causing it to develop bulbous, eye-shaped appendages. D-class-1915's face altered slightly, as well, and the base of the head, initially flat, began bulging inwards. Additionally, the appendages acquired a shape reminiscent of a penis, with the flaps coming together at a point reminiscent of the male gonad. The appendages, referred to as "mantles" by test subjects, are said to be capable of basic locomotion and will forcibly expel large quantities of liquid when tugged.
Experiment Log 7149-2:
Full Description of experiment:
A fully-grown male D-class subject (age 22 at the time of testing, 5'8" and 160 pounds) was attached to D-class-1915. The experiment began at 5:21 PM. The site and the subject were sealed off from external influence, allowing for the entire experiment to be recorded. At 5:27 PM, D-class-1915 was fed SCP-7149-1. The subject subsequently began vomiting, and was subsequently removed from the testing chamber. It has not been determined whether or not SCP-7149-1 is able to be regurgitated, or whether the subject would be capable of regurgitation. During the entirety of this experiment, the subject remained conscious and alert. While under its tentacle, the subject began to sob. An experiment administrator entered the testing chamber, and attempted to reassure the subject. The subject continued to sob. At 5:35 PM, SCP-7149 was disconnected from the subject's mouth and placed back into its containment container. The subject immediately regurgitated and began violently attacking D-class-1915's tentacle. The subject had been unable to remove the appendages without assistance, and had no method of supporting itself until these appendages were regurgitated. At 5:40 PM, the subject reattached its tentacle, and began attacking D-class-1915 once again. D-class-1915 began to sob once more, and was restrained by the experiment administrator. A D-class subject was attached to D-class-1915's head and extremities. D-class-1915 regained full consciousness, and has not shown any further signs of distress.

As the effects of SCP-7149 began to spread beyond the initial testing site, reports of unusual occurrences and sightings flooded in from across the globe. In ██████████, a group of individuals were observed attempting to flee from what appeared to be a swarm of agitated squids in the city center. Eyewitness accounts described the squids as having "human-like features" and exhibiting "high levels of intelligence and coordination."
In ████████████, a small town in rural Japan, a local movie set was found abandoned and vandalized. The set, which had been in production for a new horror film, had been destroyed by a mob of individuals covered in black sap and bearing an unsettling resemblance to the film's monster. The production crew and cast were nowhere to be found.
In the following weeks, similar reports began to emerge from around the world. In ████████, a group of scientists studying a rare deep-sea creature discovered that the creatures had begun to exhibit unusual behavior, including the ability to mimic human movements and vocalizations. In ███████████, a series of graffiti appeared on buildings depicting grotesque, humanoid figures with tentacles.
As the scale of the containment efforts grew, so did the complexity. MTF Echo-11 ("Never Surrender") was dispatched to retrieve any instances of SCP-7149 from the outside world. Their efforts were met with mixed success; while they managed to secure several samples, they also encountered resistance from individuals infected with SCP-7149, who displayed heightened levels of aggression and intelligence.
Meanwhile, at the containment facility, scientists were working around the clock to develop a countermeasure against SCP-7149. Several promising leads were explored, including the use of amnestics and antibodies. However, progress was slow, and the possibility of a complete cure remained elusive.
As the situation grew more dire, MTF Echo-11 was called back to the facility with their latest haul of SCP-7149 samples. Upon their return, they reported that the infected individuals they encountered had developed a herd mentality, with some even exhibiting rudimentary communication skills. The team also noted that the infected individuals seemed to be drawn to areas of high population density, suggesting that the spread of SCP-7149 was only beginning.
In response to the escalating threat, Foundation leadership ordered the implementation of "Operation Clean Sweep." Under this operation, all known instances of SCP-7149 were to be contained within secure facilities, while MTF Echo-11 would be tasked with locating and neutralizing any remaining instances in the wild.
The operation was met with mixed success. While Echo-11 managed to secure several instances of SCP-7149, they also encountered resistance from infected individuals who had formed small, autonomous groups. These groups displayed heightened levels of organization and intelligence, with some even using rudimentary weapons and improvised traps to defend their territory.
As the scope of the infected areas grew, so did the efforts to contain the spread of SCP-7149. MTF Echo-11 was joined by other Mobile Task Forces, including Gamma-14 ("Hell Flames") and Epsilon-10 ("The Last Defense"). Together, they formed a multinational task force dedicated to containing and neutralizing the threat posed by SCP-7149.
Despite their best efforts, progress was slow. The infected individuals continued to adapt and evolve, displaying increased intelligence and coordination. Some even began to communicate with each other through a series of complex hand signals and vocalizations, making it harder for the task force to locate and neutralize them.
As the situation escalated, Foundation leadership ordered the implementation of "Operation Splinter Cell." Under this operation, a covert team of agents infiltrated the infected areas, posing as members of the resistance movement. Their mission was to gather intelligence and locate the source of the infection, while also trying to disrupt the communication networks of the infected individuals.
The team, composed of highly skilled agents from various Mobile Task Forces, spent several weeks gathering information and planning their next move. They discovered that the infected individuals were using a combination of body language, vocalizations, and rudimentary sign language to communicate. They also learned that the source of the infection wasSCp-1749, who seemed to be the leader of the infected horde.
Armed with this information, the team planned a daring raid on the location where SCP-7149 was believed to be held. Using stealth and tactical precision, they infiltrated the facility undetected. After a fierce firefight with the infected individuals guarding the location, they managed to secure SCP-7149.
However, as they attempted to extract with their prisoner, they were ambushed by a much larger force of infected individuals. Outnumbered and outgunned, the team fought valiantly but was slowly overwhelmed. Just as all seemed lost, a group of D-class personnel arrived on the scene, armed with high-powered weapons and amnestics.
Working together, they managed to hold off the infected long enough for an extraction team to arrive. SCP-7149 was successfully extracted, but the cost was high. Several D-class personnel were lost in the battle, and many more were infected.
In the aftermath of the raid, a full-scale operation was launched to contain and neutralize the threat posed by SCP-7149. MTF Echo-11 led the way, with Gamma-14 and Epsilon-10 providing backup. They worked tirelessly to locate and contain any remaining instances of SCP-7149.
Despite their best efforts, the spread of SCP-7149 continued. Reports came in from around the world of similar occurrences; infected individuals banding together, using makeshift weapons and improvised traps to defend their territory. The task force soon realized that containing the infection was no longer enough; they needed to find a way to eradicate it.
In a desperate attempt to stem the tide, MTF Echo-11 began conducting experiments on infected individuals. They sought to understand the biological basis of the infection, hoping to develop a cure or at least a way to neutralize it. Their efforts were met with mixed success; while they managed to isolate several key components of the infection, they were unable to replicate their findings outside of the laboratory setting.
As the spread of SCP-7149 continued unabated, MTF Gamma-14 ("Hell Flames") was deployed to aid in containment efforts. They used their specialized weapons and tactics to engage and neutralize infected individuals, but the sheer numbers made it difficult to make significant progress. In some cases, they were forced to retreat under heavy fire.
Meanwhile, MTF Epsilon-10 ("The Last Defense") focused on gathering intelligence on the infected individuals. They discovered that the infected were able to communicate through a complex system of hand signals and vocalizations. They also learned that the infected individuals seemed to be drawn to areas of high population density, suggesting that the spread of SCP-7149 was only beginning.
