As the night fell in the wild area of Galar, the air was still and quiet, except for the occasional rustle of leaves as the wind blew through the trees. However, the tranquility was suddenly broken as the snow fell from the sky. It was a typical occurrence in this part of the wild area, and the local Pokemon didn't seem bothered by it. They did their business as usual, undisturbed by the sudden weather change. The Silent Night became a magical snowfield, with the snowflakes gently falling and covering everything in a white blanket. Despite the sudden transformation, the Pokemon remained calm and at ease, as if they had been waiting for this moment for a long time.
Nestled in a far-off corner of the wild area, a small Skwovet scurried from one tree to another, its eyes scanning for the juiciest and sweetest berries. The Berry trees were abundant, but the Skwovet had acquired a taste for the Kee Berry and was determined to locate the best ones. Suddenly, a brilliant gleam caught its attention, and the little Pokémon was perplexed. Curiosity getting the better of it, the Skwovet decided to investigate, leading it to stumble upon a vast cave entrance.
The radiant light emanated from deep within the cave, and the Skwovet couldn't resist the urge to explore. The light intensified and abruptly disappeared, leaving the Pokémon blinking and rubbing its eyes. Suddenly, it heard rocks tumbling from its side, causing it to pause. The Skwovet cautiously approached the entrance, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings before taking a tentative step inside the cave.
Skwovet was gingerly exploring the long, winding cave, sniffing at everything it passed. Down deeper it went, and the scent of an abandoned shelter grew stronger. Suddenly, an intense sensation hit the tiny Pokemon, unlike anything it had felt before. It paused, staring deep into the darkness, assessing the safety of its surroundings. At that moment, four glowing yellow eyes appeared from the shadows. The feeling intensified, and the Skwovet could sense malice emanating from the eyes as they drew closer. An aggressive growl accompanied the feeling, and the tiny Pokemon trembled with fear.
As the eyes moved forward, a roar echoed through the cave, followed by a bright, scorching flame shooting in the tiny Pokemon's direction. The Skwovet yelped and darted towards the entrance, the fire hot on its heels. Just as the flames were about to touch the tiny Pokemon, it leaped to the side and narrowly escaped.
After a few moments of silence, Skwovet turned to look back into the cave, the fear in its heart still palpable. It was unsure of what had just happened. However, a louder roar shook the cave before it could contemplate the situation. With no time to waste, the tiny Pokemon took off as fast as it could, desperate to escape whatever horrors lurked in the darkness behind it.
Leon was feeling very exhausted. It had been yet another year of battling gym trainers and putting on a show for the region of Galer. The events had just ended, and he wanted to return to his apartment and rest. However, before he could even reach his door, one of Rose's assistants informed him that there was a meeting that he had to attend. He knew he had no choice, so he hurriedly went to the meeting room to finish it as soon as possible.
"What's happening?" he asked the gym leaders. They all looked at him and shook their heads, telling him they didn't know what the meeting was about.
"I don't care so long as it ends fast so I can go home," Gordie snapped as he leaned back in his chair.
"Oh, hush now," his mother snapped at him motherly, making him roll his eyes. "If Rose called us here, it must be something important."
Bea spoke up, voicing her agreement with Gordie. "I think it's time for us to head home. It's already past Allister's bedtime," she said, glancing over at her younger brother, who was struggling to keep his eyes open. Allister was the youngest of the group of gym leaders, at just 13 years old.
Suddenly, Rose burst into the room, looking harried. "I'm so sorry for calling you all at this late hour, especially since the events just ended moments ago," he said, gesturing for everyone to sit down. "But this requires everyone's attention."
Milo, the most outgoing member of the group, spoke up. "What's going on?" he asked, sitting up straighter and looking at Rose expectantly. The rest of the group looked on, curious and worried about what could be so urgent.
With a worried look, Rose gathered and addressed the gym leaders together. "I understand that it's common practice to wait a few hours for everyone to rest after a long journey, but I have some urgent news that cannot wait."
The gym leaders looked at each other in concern, sensing the gravity of Rose's words.
"As you all know, the champions from other regions have decided to hold their meeting in Galer for the first time in fifteen years. It's an exciting opportunity for us, but it also comes with its own set of challenges. We've already made it public that the Pokemon League will not be accepting any gym challenges for the next year."
Raihan, impatient as ever, interrupted Rose. "Yes, we know that already. What's the problem?"
Rose took a deep breath before continuing. "The problem is that the champion from the Unova region has been missing for the last three years. Her disappearance has put a lot of pressure on us to ensure that everything is perfect for the upcoming meeting. Unfortunately, a new problem has arisen in the wild area that we need to address urgently."
Raihan's eyes rolled in annoyance as he spoke, "If this is about that wild Pokemon in the giant seat, just ignore it. It'll go away eventually." But Rose's response sounded grave. "I'm afraid we tried that. The Pokemon has gone too far." The assistant then passed over a couple of folders to the gym leaders and the champion. The folders contained images that made their stomachs churn - a severely injured boy lay in a hospital bed, surrounded by pictures of badly wounded Pokemon.
"During the gym challenge, the Pokemon attacked multiple trainers," Rose grimly said. "We initially considered it a territorial dispute and advised trainers to stay away from the giant seat's vicinity. However, this boy didn't heed our warning and proceeded to take a shortcut through the Giants' area to reach Hammerlock. That's where he and his Pokemon encountered this new wild Pokemon and were defeated. But unlike regular Pokemon, this one didn't leave the scene after defeating the trainer. Instead, it attacked the trainer himself." Gasps of horror echoed through the room. "Witnesses say that when they tried to help the boy, the Pokemon decided to fight them instead, resulting in multiple injuries."
Leon's voice broke the silence, "Do they know what Pokemon it was?"
The group was uncertain about the identity of the Pokemon in question, as they had no photographic evidence. However, from the descriptions provided, they deduced that it was a type of Samurott.
Milo sputtered, expressing disbelief at the notion of a wild Samurott. "That's impossible," he exclaimed. "They aren't native to this region, and even in their own region, they're not known to be wild Pokemon, much less this aggressive."
Rose, however, had a different explanation. "It seems likely that this particular Samurott was brought over from the Unova region by a trainer and subsequently released into the wild area," she explained. "Based on witness accounts, this Pokemon appears to despise all human interaction. Even the ranger I've sent on multiple occasions has failed to make any contact with it. It will avoid humans at all costs until it feels it has no choice but to attack. And when it does attack, it goes all out, leaving some of my rangers traumatized by the experience."
Melany was deeply disturbed by this revelation. "That's just awful," she said, covering her mouth. "I can't even imagine what that poor Pokemon has been through."
"If we don't act soon, we may have to put this Pokemon down by force. However, we would like to avoid that, which is why we've gathered here," Rose addressed the group.
"Why can't we just catch it in a Pokeball and get it over with?" Raihan asked.
"Normally, that would be simple, but the weather in that area has been getting worse. It has been snowing non-stop for the past few months. The snowfall is so heavy that trainers can hardly see five feet in front of them, let alone throw a Pokeball at a Pokemon that is avoiding humans," Rose's assistant added.
"That's quite unusual, especially for the Wild Area," Leon said as he nodded. "Is there anything else we should know?"
"According to a few of the Rangers, the Pokemon in question was spotted in the company of a baby Pokemon on a couple of occasions before being approached. Interestingly, every time the Rangers approached the Pokemon, the baby Pokemon vanished into the snowy surroundings and was not seen again throughout the ensuing battle," said Rose's assistant, whose expression remained devoid of emotion.
Melany's eyes widened as she watched the mother Pokemon aggressively protect her young. She placed a hand over her heart, feeling sympathy for the Pokemon, "It must have gone through a lot of abuse to react in such a way," she said softly, looking over at her son, who rolled his eyes in response.
Rose, the authority figure, spoke to the Pokemon gym leaders of the Galar region and the champion, "You will be responsible for handling this situation. We will provide all necessary resources such as medical assistance and reinforcements." His gaze swept over the room as he finished speaking.
As Leon delved into the contents of the file, he raised a query to the Chairman, thanking him for the update but questioning the suddenness of the information. "May I ask why we weren't informed of this earlier?" he inquired, seeking clarity.
Chairman Rose, looking quite serious, began to explain his reasoning. "I didn't inform you of my order because I wanted you to focus all your energy on the gym challenge at the time. Now that the gym challenge is over, I need you to put all your attention into this situation and deal with it as swiftly as possible. As you all know, this is a critical matter and we cannot afford any mistakes."
He then continued, "In the next couple of days, I will be sending some of my best Rangers as the final attempt. If the Pokemon is not captured by these Rangers, you will be instantly in charge of the situation. You must be ready to take over at a moment's notice. Is that clear to everyone?"
Everyone nodded, and there was a tense silence in the room as they all realized the gravity of the situation.
The meeting came to a close with a unanimous agreement from everyone in the room, and as they started to leave, they spoke in hushed tones to each other. Leon watched Raihan sift through pictures of wounded people and their injured Pokemon.
Leon saw that Raihan was troubled and asked, "Are you okay, my friend?"
Raihan didn't respond immediately, his eyes still glued to the pictures. After a moment, he said, "I'm fine, I just want to get this over with."
As they walked out of the room, Leon could sense that Raihan was feeling the weight of the situation. He knew that Raihan was the only one in the group who had yet to find his soulmate, and that thought seemed to be weighing heavily on his mind.
Raihan, the Dragon-type gym leader, was a towering figure among his peers. His muscular build was second to none, and he had a calm and collected demeanor. However, behind his confident facade, he carried a burden that weighed on him heavily. Raihan felt like an outcast among his fellow gym leaders as he was the only one who had not yet found his soulmate or soul sibling. He had searched for years but to no avail. The Mark on his body was unique, unlike anyone else's, making his quest for love even more challenging. Despite his cheerful and friendly nature, Raihan harbored a deep-seated fear of being alone for the rest of his life, and the thought of never finding his soulmate was unbearable, and Leon knew that.
On that eventful night, in the wild area surrounding the Giant Seat, a colossal Pokemon with stunning white and red fur lay motionless before a dimly lit cave entrance. The majestic creature was an imposing sight as it watched over the snow-covered terrain. It scanned the landscape intently, seeing nothing unusual - just the trees, huddled together, blanketed in snow and Ice, the lake frozen solid with thick Ice, and not a single Pokemon. Suddenly, it shook its head, causing a cascade of snow to fall from its fur, and perked up its ears. It growled and snarled, detecting something in the distance. The massive Pokemon got up, inhaling deeply to catch the intruder's scent, and relaxed as it recognized the smell. It then turned toward the intruder's direction with a renewed sense of alertness.
On a snow-laden path, a majestic Pokémon with white fur and brown antlers gracefully made its way, carrying a basket with telekinesis. The creature's movements were smooth and effortless as it approached a dark cave. Another Pokémon with a striking red and white appearance waited inside the cave. As the two creatures locked eyes, the deer-like Pokémon nodded its massive head, conveying a sense of mutual understanding and trust. Without hesitation, the white-furred Pokémon led the way into the cave, with its companion following closely behind.
As the two snow-white Pokémon ventured deeper into the dark cave, they stumbled upon a tiny creature playing with a worn-out ball. Both of them nodded at the creature before proceeding on their journey. The little creature seemed lost in its own world, throwing the ball into the shadows and happily barking into the darkness. Suddenly, two glowing black eyes emerged from the shadows, and the little creature continued playing like nothing had happened. As soon as the two white Pokémon moved past, the animal with black eyes growled and let out a loud roar-like bark. The sound echoed through the cave and beyond for miles. Seconds later, the snowstorm outside the cave intensified, turning into a hailstorm, and the little creature continued playing with the ball, seemingly unaware of the chaos it had caused.
The winter storm raged on outside, the snow and hail falling heavily, obscuring the view of any living creature for miles around. The only thing that caught the eye was a figure so enigmatic and hidden under the frozen lake and ice sheets that it could barely be made out. Yet, it was unmistakably there, floating eerily close to the entrance of the nearby cave. Its bright yellow eyes shone for a fleeting moment, illuminating the surroundings before it disappeared even deeper into the lake's dark waters.
