Chapter 14

Once Refract finished the story, it was quiet until Undyne decided to speak up. "What made you choose our Frisk instead of another version of herself?" She asked curiously.

"Because she is the original Frisk," he replied. "Because she is the classic version, I knew there was little risk of her misusing her power. Plus, I knew she wished to help her own timeline, but could only go so far with the RESETs."

"Those were doing more harm than good," Frisk admitted as she came out into the living room, having woken up from her nap and heard what the alternate Gaster had said, going up to Sans, who was sitting on the couch. He scooped her up and set her in his lap, hugging her as she hugged him back.

Refract nodded. "I watched you try to help the previous fallen children and even Chara, but it was difficult to do so," he said. "You even tried so hard to save Asriel."

She nodded, tears falling from her eyes. Sans rubbed her back to soothe her and Error, who was beside her, did the same before he spoke up. "If your pow-powers could help other time-timelines, I bet it can help your-yours too," he said.

"I believe it can too," Ink said. "If she could help Underswap Frisk return, along with Lullaby Toriel and Lullaby Muffet, then why couldn't she do the same here?"

Toriel and Asgore were quiet, which Frisk noticed and looked at them. "Mom? Dad?" She asked.

"It's...a lot to take in, sweetheart," Toriel said softly.

"And...I hurt some of those children," Asgore admitted, looking ashamed of himself. "And then kept them trapped here, unable to rest in peace." He hung his head. "I am a horrible king."

Charlotte looked at her book and looked sad, something Papyrus noticed. "You can see it?" She asked.

"Yes," she said. "And...it says what happened to the other children."

Tears fell from Toriel's eyes. "My children," she said softly. "I'd...I'd give anything just to see them and hug them again."

Frisk looked at her mother. "Mom, I can do it," she said. "I can restore them."

"Wait, Frisk," Sans said gently. "Why don't we get everyone's opinion on it first?"

"See how everyone feels about it," Ink said with a nod of understanding.

"That wou-would be wise," Error agreed.

Papyrus was the first one to speak up. "I do miss Chara," he said. "And...it would be nice to have all the royal children back."

"Same here," Sans said with a nod.

The others all agreed and looked at Toriel and Asgore, who looked at each other and he nodded to his wife. "It's up to you, my love," he said softly. "If you want them to return, I will work to be a good father to them, but if you don't, I fully support your decision."

The female goat monster fell into thought. "It won't be an easy road," she cautioned. "But if I do agree, will you all help me show the children that they are safe with us?"

"Yes," Undyne said.

"Seconded," Gaster said.

"All in favor?" Ink asked.

Everyone raised their hands and Charlotte nodded. "It's unanimous," she said with a smile.

Toriel nodded. "Alright then," she said, looking at Frisk. "Frisk...can you restore your brothers and sisters?"

The child nodded and took a deep breath, closing her eyes as her hands glowed with her power. She felt two hands rest on her shoulders and one rest on her head and one rest in-between her shoulder blades. She opened her eyes to see it was Charlotte, Ink, Refract, and Error. "Let us help you, Frisk," the young woman said.

"You're go-going to need some ex-extra power," Error said.

"Which is where we come in," Ink said, smiling.

Refract nodded. "We trust you, Frisk," he said.

With that, the four hands touching Frisk's shoulders, back, and head began glowing and mixing with the power she had. Closing her eyes again, she reached out in front of her, spreading her arms out as magic flowed out of her, the timeline restoring as the magic washed over everything. In mere moments, seven human children and one goat child stood in the living room with the others, opening their eyes and looking around in surprise.

"What...What happened?" Asriel asked, confused.

Toriel had tears in her eyes. "My children," she said softly.

Hearing her voice, they turned to look at her and gasped. "Mom!" Carmen said in shock, running up to her.

"Mom!" Julie, David, and Sarah cried out, running up to her too. Thomas and Nathan were speechless, but ran up to their mother, hugging her along with the rest of their siblings. Chara and Asriel held back, stunned before looking at Frisk, both backing up a little as they saw the power flowing from her and the four that were beside her. As the power died down, the adults stood up and Frisk looked at Chara and Asriel, walking up to them.

Asriel hid behind Chara, who looked like she wanted to run and hide. Frisk stopped in front of them before reaching out and hugging Chara tightly. "I forgive you, Chara," she said. "Love you, sis."

Shock filled the red-eyed girl that the brown-haired girl forgave her and accepted her as a sister. She slowly hugged Frisk back, looking at the adults, who smiled and nodded. Relaxing more, she felt tears sting her eyes and she hung her head. "Frisk," she managed to say as her tears began falling. "I'm so sorry."

"It's okay," Frisk said soothingly.

Asriel held back and Chara turned to him and held out a hand to him. "Get in here, silly," she said, giggling a little through her tears.

"But...," he began to protest before a gentle hand on his back gently pushed him towards the two girls. He turned to see it was Error, who smiled at him.

"Go on," he said encouragingly. "You deser-deserve for-forgiveness too, kiddo."

Frisk reached out a hand to the goat child too. "I forgive you, Asriel," she said sincerely. "Love you, bro."

He got tears in his eyes and hugged both of them, all three of them having tears run down their faces. The six children looked to see this and went up to them, each one hugging the three without hesitation before gently pulling the three closer to the King and Queen. Toriel hugged Frisk, Chara, and Asriel tightly, so happy to see her first two children again. Asgore held back, not wanting to make the children uncomfortable, but Ink whispered something to Carmen, who looked up at the King before going up and hugging him.

Though surprised, he hugged her back. "I'm so sorry, young one," he said sincerely.

Seeing Carmen hug him, the other five went up to him and each one hugged him too. "Are you going to be our daddy now?" Julie asked curiously.

Asgore looked at the small child and at the other children, who looked up at him and he smiled gently. "If you all wish me to be your father, then yes," he said. "I will do my best to be a good father to you all."

Nathan noticed something. "You didn't tell us to call you 'Dad'," he observed.

The King shook his head. "No, I didn't," he said. "I'm not going to force you children to call me that. Whether or not you want to is up to you all, but even if you never call me 'Dad', I'll still do my best as your father and will love you all as my children."

Thomas looked at his siblings before looking over at Charlotte. "What do you think?" He asked her.

She smiled. "It's up to you kids," she said, reaffirming what Asgore said. "If you all feel that his title should be 'Dad', then that's your call."

The kids fell into thought before looking at each other. "I vote to call Asgore 'Dad'," Nathan said, placing his hand out with his palm facing the floor.

"Me too," Julie said, placing her hand on her brother's hand.

Sarah nodded, placing her hand over Julie's hand. Thomas placed his hand on the stack too, followed by Carmen and David. The six then turned to Frisk, Chara, and Asriel. All three smiled and also placed their hands on the stack, completing it. "Looks like it's official," Refract said, smiling.

Gaster nodded. "It's good to have you all back, children," he said.

The hugs continued to go around as the children were welcomed back by the monsters and Refract picked Frisk up, hugging her. "I'm so proud of you, little one," he said, kissing her forehead in affection. "Thank you for helping everyone and proving that not all humans are bad."

"You're welcome, Refract," she said.

"I have one last gift for you," he said, setting her down and kneeling down to her height. "Give me your hands."

She did and his hands glowed the same color as the power he had given her, but now the power had hints of gold to it. As the others watched, a pair of sea-blue gloves dotted with small green and gold gems formed on Frisk's hands. Ink smiled as he realized what Refract was doing. Charlotte and Error smiled too as Refract let the power fade and looked at Frisk, who looked at him curiously.

"With this new power, you can visit the Doodlesphere and if you wish to visit one of the timelines, Ink can guide you to them," he said. "You can even bring members of your family along too."

Sans came up to him. "It will take her directly to the Doodlesphere?" He asked.

"Yes," Refract said. "In case something is wrong, Ink will be there, along with Error and Charlotte."

"That way, we can protect Frisk and she has a way to get home if needed in an emergency," Charlotte said.

"Hope-Hopefully, all will be well fr-from now on," Error said.

Gaster nodded. "Though, Frisk, if you do decide to go visit them, be sure to tell one of us," he said. "That way, we'll know you're safe."

"And have your phone on you too," Toriel said.

"I will," the brown-haired child promised her uncle and mother.

The others nodded and Frisk hugged Refract. "Thank you, Uncle Refract," she said, surprising him, but he smiled and hugged her back.

"You're welcome, little one," he said before he, Ink, Error, and Charlotte headed back to the Doodlesphere and Grillby suggested a large dinner party to celebrate everyone's return and that was met with enthusiasm.

Gaster lifted Frisk up into his arms, holding her protectively. "An angel here and in the other timelines too," he said. "Who'd have thought that a few months ago, we'd meet a child determined to free us all and then help other timelines to have the happy ending we got too?"

Frisk giggled before hugging her uncle. "I'm glad to be home though," she said. "I missed everyone."

"And we missed you, baby bones," he said, gently nuzzling his forehead against her own in affection. "I do have a suggestion though."

"Yes?" She asked.

"Maybe stay here for a week before deciding to go visit another timeline?" He suggested. "It's going to be a bit of an emotional week for everyone with the return of your brothers and sisters, along with you."

She giggled. "Don't worry, Uncle Gaster. I'm going to stay put for a bit," she said before resting her head on his shoulder. He smiled and kissed her forehead in affection before they all sat down to a wonderful meal, all happy to be reunited again.

Frisk has healed her timeline. :) Next up is the epilogue. :)
