Dr. Sato soon arrived, and he did another exam on Brooklyn and a new scan to make sure the twins were alright. Brooklyn hoped stone sleep had helped the twins just as much as himself. The clan wanted to be in the room too to make sure their Second and his twins were alright.

Their hearts were heard, and they were still beating. They were alright. Landing on the mattress might have helped but Brook had done his best to land safely, hopefully without hurting his unborn babies. It had been quite a fall.

Brooklyn was grateful they were still alive and surviving the drugs too.

It had been a long and tiring time. Brooklyn and the clan, along with their human allies were all glad that Brooklyn had now come home. He would need all the support he could get while he finished carrying his twins to term, however long it took.

Brooklyn was so grateful that he could return to his own room. He had missed it. The clan were all still ticked off at him for having taken off in the first place, but they understood why he had done it. He had done it to protect the babies.

After having seen the twins and hearing their heartbeats, the clan definitely couldn't believe they had wanted Brooklyn to have an abortion before. These little lives were clan after all. They had just been concerned about Brooklyn because of being a male that he wasn't meant to be pregnant. But the red male didn't care. He wanted his babies. He didn't care if they were half human either. They looked gargoyle enough on the sonograms.

He also knew how his babies had to be born and he would take it when the time came. Right now, Brooklyn just wanted them to grow enough so they could be ready to live outside his body. According to Sato, their lungs were not developed to be able to be born at six months like when female gargoyles would lay their eggs in the egg laying years. It was just going to be a few months of waiting.

Brooklyn couldn't help but wonder if he would actually go into labor with the twins too. The doctor had said that a uterus had been created to carry them in. At least they weren't just free floating in his stomach or attached to any of his organs.

The red male sat down on his bed, glad to feel its comfort again. He leaned against the bedpost. There was a cramp that struck his back. He winced and had to sit up higher. "You two sure are taking a toll on my body." He joked. He then felt some movement inside him. It made him put his hands on it. He smiled.

Then there was a knock on the door. "Come in." Brook said.

The clan then came into the room. "What's going on?" Brooklyn asked curiously.

"Brooklyn, we need to talk some more." Goliath declared.

"What about? I said I was sorry for leaving." Brooklyn tried to play it cool.

"We know that lad, but there is just too much at stake for ye while you are in this condition that is usually only meant for females." Hudson explained.

"I know." Brooklyn replied.

"Do you? Brooklyn, we talked with Mr. Robbins, and he said that you were out of his house a lot while you were with him." Angela stated.

"Yes, I was. I got restless a lot. My wings just said they needed the gliding. I was also craving a lot of foods that come from those stands like the pretzels and hot dogs." Brook explained.

"We can get those foods for you, no problem, Brooklyn." Broadway said. "Just tell us what you want."

"Brooklyn, I know you like to be active and all, but from this point onward, now that you are back, you are forbidden from leaving the castle." Goliath decreed. "It's too risky after what you were just saved from, and from Demona too. You're lucky that she didn't try to harm you."

"Mother has improved much in her ways with us, Father." Angela protested. "Since I've been seeing and helping her to try to change."

"I know Angela, but don't get your hopes up that she'll never fully change." Goliath declared.

"I still sometimes feel like I need to glide, Goliath." Brooklyn stated.

"Then you are only allowed to do it around here. Glide around the castle grounds only." Goliath ordered.

"Alright. Yes. I can do that." Brook replied reluctantly.

"Can I ask what it feels like to be carrying them?" Lex asked curiously.

That made Brook smile. "It feels strange, but I can feel their weight and I can feel them move around inside me too." He explained.

"Do they kick?" Broadway asked.

"Yes."

"We do have to admit that this is quite an experience for ye, lad." Hudson smiled too. He was now looking forward to seeing some new life in the castle again. Their clan needed some new cute little babies in it.

"Another thing came to me, how are the twins going to eat when they're born?" Lex asked. That was a good question. "I mean, Brooklyn is no female."

"I'm perfectly aware of that fact, Lex. You don't have to rub it in." Brook said sadly.

"Maybe like with human babies, perhaps there's a formula for them?" Angela suggested.

"Females always fed the newborns. That's something Brooklyn cannot do." Hudson decreed.

"It's easy to feed them now, but yes, Angela's suggestion sounds good. We could use formula." Brooklyn agreed with the female.

"But gargoyle infants might have different nutritional needs than human infants." Broadway pointed out.

"We are different creatures after all." Goliath said.

"What about talking to the clan in Japan? They're well advanced for many things. Maybe they know a little about baby gargoyle formula." Lex suggested.

"That would be a good idea to find out, Lexington." Goliath agreed.

"We could talk to them and possibly make some." Angela stated.

"Yeah, and Xanatos would have to let us use the phone." Brooklyn said. He still wasn't always so trusting of the man, but this was looking like their only hope. They had to know about a formula before the babies were born.

"Maybe Elisa could call them and ask?" Angela offered.

"I'd much rather Elisa calls them than Xanatos." Brook stated.

"Alright." Goliath agreed. "It's understandable. They're your children."

"How about we have a victory feast now that Brooklyn's back home?" Broadway suggested next.

"Yes. We shall celebrate his return home this night." Goliath declared.

Broadway and Angela went to go start preparing for dinner. Brooklyn then said, "Can I be alone while waiting?"

"Of course, lad. We don't want to overwhelm ye." Hudson stated. "Let's clear out." The rest of them filed out.

Brooklyn's stomach growled at the thinking of food. He wondered how much his babies could hear it. But he was hoping for some source to be able to feed his babies once they were born. If it had to be human infant formula, so be it.

Broadway and Angela together made a good selection of some healthy foods for Brooklyn's celebration dinner. There was some chicken made, some mixed vegetables, some peaches, some cookies, and some bread. There was some water and tea provided for drinks.

When the rest of the clan got to the dining room, their mouths watered at the sight of the food. "Let Brooklyn go first as this meal is in his honor this night." Goliath insisted.

"Thanks." Brooklyn replied. He then went and picked up a plate and got a little of everything. The clan followed next. This was just a dinner for the clan. Elisa had gone back to work earlier or else she likely would have been here for it.

When everyone had their food, Brooklyn got the clan's attention as he had something to say. "Thanks for letting me come home again and letting me keep my pregnancy going. I know it's risky, but I'll be careful. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get these two into the world healthy. I'll need you guys to support me for everything. I was going to return to you but it likely wasn't going to happen for a couple more months if what happened last night hadn't happened." Brook explained. "But I just wish that you had all been this welcoming way back at the beginning and I wouldn't have left at all."

"It's all in the past now, Brooklyn. Let us make a fresh start tonight." Goliath decreed. "Our clan is to soon welcome some much-needed new life into it."

"This is so exciting for this to be happening." Angela smiled.

"Yeah. I can't wait to be an uncle." Lex grinned.

"Me too." Broadway said.

"Have you thought about how you want the twins raised, Brooklyn?" Angela asked.

"I know we were all raised communally in our clan, but we are so few in number now that yes, I do want them raised by all of us, but I still want them to know that I am their real father." Brooklyn declared.

"Well, times are changing our clan's ways." Goliath said. "Just as I am with Angela."

"You once told me that you wanted me to look upon the whole clan as my parents, Goliath, but the Trio were not parents before. It would have seemed a little awkward to do so." Angela reminded her father of that memory.

"I know, Angela. It definitely would have been impossible to do so." Goliath agreed.

"We might have acted more like big brothers then." Brooklyn said. "But we all needed a chance to try to see if she could become one of our mates."

"And she chose me." Broadway declared, reminding his red brother of that.

"I know. I respect that now." Brook said.

"You'll find your lover one day, Brooklyn." Angela declared.

"I just hope she will accept my babies. Whoever she is." Brooklyn rubbed his belly.

"We all will help protect you and your babies, Brooklyn." Hudson decreed. "Any female that wants to be with you will have to pass our inspection too."

That made Brooklyn smile and chuckle a bit. "Yep."

"But what if it won't be a gargoyle? What if it's a human?" Lex asked.

"My kids are half human as it is, Lex. It would make sense almost. I'd be willing to accept a human if there were no other options for me and if she loved me for me." Brook replied to him.

"And that's the way it should be." Goliath decreed.

After that talk, they started to eat their food. It was a good meal served. Brooklyn didn't seem to have a problem with chicken now. He figured it had just been part of the morning sickness phase in the earlier stages. He was so glad he was past that stage now.

Later, Goliath called Elisa on the communicator to ask if she could call the Japanese area where they visited on the quest and get some information about possible formula for gargoyle babies. She said she would do that.

…..

While the clan slept that day, Elisa looked up a number she could call to Japan in Ishimura. They had to know something of gargoyle formula.

She eventually got someone to call her back, but it was hard to understand Japanese a bit more. On the quest, Avalon had taken care of language barrier problems. Now she was on her own.

Eventually, the person on the other end gave her the ingredients needed to make the formula. They would have to make it themselves. "Thank you so much." Elisa thanked them.

They did the same and hung up. Now there was hope to have food for the babies for when they were born.

She went over to the castle that night and gave it to Brooklyn. "Here you go, Brooklyn. I got this formula from a lady in the Ishimura village. It's a formula to create for baby gargoyles if there's no mother to feed them." Elisa explained.

"Thank you so much, Elisa." Brooklyn said, smiling and hugging her.

"I was happy to do it for you." Elisa admitted. "Those babies are going to be so loved."

"I just wish you had done it before." Brooklyn said.

"I'm sorry. It won't happen again." Elisa replied sadly. "You are safe here with the clan than out there. I promise I'll be there for you in whatever you want or need for them."

"Thanks." Brook stated.

"Okay. Well, I have to get back to work." Elisa said and had to leave.

Brooklyn was glad he had the formula's ingredients. Broadway could likely put this together for him. It was one way his aqua brother could contribute to his niece and nephew, aside from his cooking.

…..

Down in the Labyrinth, they were notified that Brooklyn had been found and they could relax on not finding him. It was a relief.

Talon had gotten the call and he had been near the cell area where the cougar mutate, Fang was locked up. Fang found the call interesting. Perhaps there was a way to get out of his cage.

As Fang thought about it, he had hated Talon for a long time. Now, he also thought about who else had gotten him here, at least the first time. Brooklyn, the red gargoyle. He would love to get revenge on the red one for sure.

Fang hadn't seen Maggie, the only female of their group for quite some time. And that was for a good reason.

Maggie was currently carrying her lover, Talon's, child. She was a few months ahead of Brooklyn and the child would be born within a month or so. But of course, no one had told Fang that Maggie was expecting. It would put her at great risk. But then, Brooklyn was no different right now, carrying twins in the matter as well.

Fang determined that he would escape on his next bath day. It would be the best chance. He knew of a secret way out of here.

When his bath day did come, Claw and one of the humans came to let him out and take him to the bathroom where he would be allowed to bathe. He had a plan in his head. First to escape and then find his target. If it didn't work out, then he would just do his best to stay free. He didn't want to be kept caged any longer.

Claw unlocked his door, and he was ready. Fang stepped out. "Don't worry. I won't give trouble." The usual wise cracker said.

His hands were usually going to be cuffed behind him but before the man could cuff his hands, Fang smashed Claw in the chest and pushed him back in the cage. He also did the same to the human helping. Then he pushed his cage shut on them. "HA! Now it's your turn to be prisoners in there!" Fang laughed. He locked the cage and turned and ran out of the prison area. He ran to the secret place he knew how to get out of without being seen.

He was now free to do as he pleased! Brooklyn was definitely on his list of targets to get back at. He would face Talon at a later time.

The man kept calling out and Talon and Maggie came to see what was going on, along with a few of other humans. "What happened? Where's Fang?" Talon asked.

"He fooled us and locked us in here as we were getting him out for his bath." The man explained. "He knocked us for a loop."

"That's just great." Talon exclaimed. "And who knows who he's going after. We'll have to tell Goliath and his clan to keep on the lookout for Fang."

"Yes, I agree. I just hope he doesn't find out about our little one." Maggie said.

"I hope not either." Talon replied. He rubbed his hand on her belly.

They had no clue what the gender to the baby was. Even though having a baby in their changed states was likely going to be a risk, they had chosen to have love and the pregnancy resulted from it. Derek wanted to be a father.

They didn't know which way Fang had gone. He would likely hide or leave the city and go somewhere else. Fang had once been one of their team, but then something in him had snapped and he had turned on them. He had wanted to be the leader of it all and that hadn't worked out. Now he was nothing more than a liability to them.

They would find him when they could. But they called Elisa and the clan up to tell them that Fang had escaped. They would watch out for him.
