WHO DUNNIT VOODOO?
LARRY AND RENEGADE, VOODOO MADNESS AND SLADE GETTING HIS LITERAL ASS KICKED. HILARITY TO ENSUE.

Halloween in Jump City.
Dick was on his usual scouting mission for his Master, who had hauled himself in the haunt with caution for tonight. As Dick imagined the last October the previous year ago and the day his life was stolen from him by the madman, he wondered how the Titans were feeling about this same date on their calendars. Setting off to the west side, he ignored the fact that there was only their safety, his secrecy as he fled back into the sewers that night to train and study some rather dull lessons that Slade was more than happen to evaluate from a too - close distance apart.
"Your witch friend is probably in her element, tonight – Renegade? Are you still paying attention?"
Dick rubbed his eyes and sat up in his seat. "Yeah. Just, getting late…. Master, is all of this learning for tonight safe; there could be some dumb teenagers looking to make trouble."
"My lair is idiot proof, don't make such childish excuses, Dick." Slade walked back over to the screens where his lecture continued, Richard hiding a snort as he put his cheek back to his hand…

On the other side of the city by Titans Tower, Raven had enough dark magic for tonight to recite a spell in finding their lost leader. Over a séance- like ritual space she began, a book floating at her side as her eyes started to glow a darker shade of violet.
"By the void's lesson sewn, I call forth an answer from the great unknown…. reveal thine words…. reveal –
~ RAVE!! YOU'RE MISSING THE TRICK OR TREATERS!! RAVEN!! C'MON! OPEN UP!!~
With a scowl, the spell was thwarted. She trudged angrily up to the door to find a werewolf there. A green one, and in her summoning light.
"Raven???" Bb in full costume whined out. "You said you'd come out of your room for this year's Halloween party, why is it so dark? –
"Back off, this is serious. You need to go; I'm not participating in any silly games this year… I'm…. using my magic to help us. So, don't bother." She huffed and shut the door a bit, Bb's pleading sad eyes looking back through.
Forget it, this was more important. Raven shook her head and returned to her spell. "Where was I…." She seated herself with an exhale. "Spirits of the void….I call upon your guidance to deliver –
~ Friend Raven!! You are missing the bobbing of the candied apples! They are most delightful…. why will you not –
Raven stomped up to the door and swung it back. Starfire was dressed as an Egyptian queen with a snake scepter in hand and Ankh swinging around her throat. "It is most dreary in there by yourself, why will you not come and join us? Robin may…. not be here at this very moment-
"Starfire, that is why I have to perform my magic. Go talk to Beast boy…tell him I'll be quick. But no more interruptions. Got that?" Starfire bobbed her head and walked away, sideways. Raven sighed and returned to her mat to rub at her temples. "Ok…. here goes…… I CALL UPON THE ANSWERS SWORN TO ME…. THE VOID MUST RECEIVE MY PLEA!! AZARATH…. METRION…ZINTHOS-!!"
Thundering clouds spilled forth in the middle of the floor, the gateway was opened as in the very center she could see a head and….was Robin gaining more weight or….did he lose a few inches off the top from the trauma of working under Slade???
The clouds cleared and light returned to flood the floor.
NO. She gawked. "Something went wrong with the spell, you are an –
"Wooow!! You're a TITAN!!"
The bulbous headed, buck toothed Robin look - alike was more meant to resemble an elf from a holiday special than the real deal. Raven shook her head, eyes bogged out as the little Robin copy, clone or imp? Was it an imp?? She'd heard about Batman's' run in with one through Robin…. maybe, this was a test.
"Question, why did you come? I summoned Robin."
The little brat grinned and bounded up to the empath as he looked her over a second before grinning. "I'll have you know that in my universe, I am Robin too! I fight crime next to a Raven like you, ah…that is her, right?? WOW!! Is that a magical tome?? Those are only in fantasy shows – and is that a mirror that can see the future!?? You've got everything, and your tower is soo much cooler than our dump of a hide out!"
"WHO are you?? I don't have time; I have to try –
"NO!!!" The deformed version of her best friend wailed out in protest. "Send me back, and you won't get your real Robin at all. I can help! Let me try, pretty please, real Raven???"
"I don't…." She looked and saw him pouting his lip, her eyes turning to the book. "Why can't I have a do- over, what did you say about the spell?"
"That…. if you tried to again bring another Robin from some universe to help, it could cause a dimensional rift and potentially threaten to destroy the planet in the process…you only get one try, cause the rules..." He reached for the tome with a leap and flipped the page, Raven not seeing the invisible jargon the other was speaking aloud. "That on the night of the harvest moon, on the day of the departed, none shall be permitted a second nor a third trial to bring to this world the answers of the void's knowing. Doing so may sever the balance of the bearer's worlds and therefore, is unallowed by magical decree."
Raven blinked. "That wasn't in my book, I didn't –
"It's a secret…. but anyway, I can help you stop the bad guys! Where is your pal Robin right now?? I'm actually his number one fan and DNA buddy! You gotta let me in on the plan, Rave –
"Don't be so familiar with me. I don't know who or what you are or what…. you can do that can save my search…" She looked to the mirror, yet he did understand. That Robin was…"
"He's…. he's not coming, is he? What happened to my DNA buddy, Raven?" The imp twiddled his thumbs regretfully. "I wanna know, so I can do a better job. Please…"
Quickly, she told him about Slade and the probes inside she and her friends; about the fact that Robin was blackmailed for a year with little help from anyone to get him back, his resolve becoming harder to salvage.
"I…. had no idea, but there is a Slade in my universe and I got out too! I can show you…. got a dummy?"
"Huh?" Raven cocked her head as a lightbulb popped up onto the imp's head as he began to rummage through her chest of magical objects. Raven used her powers, angry from the intrusion without her say, yet this character wasn't much of a listener than he was a talker.
"Hey! What are you looking for in there, that's too danger –
"AHA!" The stout Robin pulled out a few small bundle dolls and Raven's expression loosened a bit. "That won't help, it's too unpredictable."
"Not if they have faces and names?" The little guy let his gloved finger move to the dolls in his grasp as they soon resembled Slade and Renegade, Raven baffled by how this kid knew what the boy wonder now wore. "How did –
"Magic finger, bends the rules of reality in any dimension! I'm going to show you, look! –
"Who are you..." Raven wondered as the boy wonder's uglier copy smiled up at the empath proudly.
"Nosyarg kciD." The brat spelled out with a pluck of the charm from the doll's sides. "And I'm here to put that mean guy Slade of your world down a few pegs on Halloween!"

Still, it was hard to set the pace of his hits while yawning into his hand. A whap of the wooden practice staff tanning his shoulder as Dick scowled up at the man above him. "Losing your concentration will lead to an early demise, apprentice." Slade got back into attack stance as Dick was forced to wake up and parry until his knees buckled.
"Wintergreen wouldn't approve –
Slade dipped the staff in front of the kneeling boy's eyes as he witheld an snort of disdain. "You're not his concern right now, Renegade. Go, freshen up and we can go over the last of your lessons before tomorrow comes."
Dick grumbled and rose, but he soon didn't feel like leaving. Heck, he didn't know what it was as his fist moved all on its own as he tugged back to retrieve it.
"Was that necessary, child?" Slade cracked his neck as the blow HAD gotten him in the jaw, but well masked it wasn't enough to do like the first time. "I…. I'm sorry –
"This lesson is adjourned."
"But, sir!"
Dick gasped again as his frame lurched once more, spooking the man only by how he saw that Dick was telling the truth. "Who cursed you, tell me."
"I…I have no idea what this is –
"It's fine." Slade didn't think that sooner as soon as a nimble foot found his ribs.
"How...how do you shut this off? HEY!" Dick took his staff, or the one controlling him did and Slade's it into the man's knee with some distance between them. "I'm not in control! What is –
"Looks like you did piss off someone, kid. Or else, you might have a guardian angel." He blocked the next hit, pulling out a stun lazer and hoping –
Slade did try to evade the brat, but his moves were like jello and far too unpredictable. And he'd fought Madame Rouge or even HEARD of Elastigirl!
"Try….to slow it –
"Can't…just…. block!"
Slade was so confused and unprepared for the next freaky happening that the boy's arm soon poppe off like an action figure's joint – flexibility and rammed itself into him as a ghost using a spell to trick.
Halloween. Figured as much, someone was doing the damage, and they had the intention of causing the man to fall. Damn! Was –
/
"I made it cooler, yay!!" Likewise, the imp was toying with Raven's tools as if he were a toddler in the sand box. She scratched her head, but then…she had a rather evil idea form in the back of her violet headed skull.
"Um, Nos…..Could I play too if that's alright? I have another idea on how to save Robin."
/
Slade was up, until his spine started to burn as he tore at it, Dick fighting to keep the man on the ground with his heart beating far too hard. "Not, hypnosis….who's' doing this??"
"Hah…. hell….could be….a witch….GAh!!"
/
Beastboy and the rest of the heroes had leaped at the idea to haunt Slade to keep Robin's spirits up. As soon at the imp had been renamed "Larry," Starfire, Cy and BB with their newest Terra had gotten in on trying to hurt the indestructible enigma with pin point accuracy.
/
First, came the rocks or the fifty-ton weights onto his legs and arms, Slade's healing worked into overdrive, countering the shit of a mime's doing as Dick tried to tug his arms to stop trying to help the wrong evil doers.
"Hey! Cut….it out! I'm not –
"Ang…no use –
"How?? Why only you??"
"Have, enemies…." Slade groaned before howling out at the damned next attack, of a flipping stain of urine of his mask.
Dick all of a sudden, burst out laughing.
It smelled fruity, like a party punch as his mask turned an uncharacteristically mauve form of pink.
"APPRENTICE!"
Dick tried his hardest to stop, but Larry's magic had carved a grinning face onto the Renegade doll as he fell over and slapped his knees while Slade continued to be humiliated by invisible demons.
"AANG!!! Richard…. you have to knock us both out…. now!! The magic may not work of conscious bodies…this is voodoo, could be one of my enemies…. I've fought, before…."
Dick was still laughing as he found the stun lazer and in Slade's face, he fired before looking over the man...
No probes….
His laughter started to wane, so Slade couldn't be trusted but why the false alarm…
No, it wasn't. He wasn't protected by anyone…he let hot tears fall and shot himself with the stun gun, right to the arm. Feeling miserable as the party had officially been canceled, the punch dripping down Slade's metal mask as both were laid out on the cold ground. Waiting on Wintergreen to see the footage of tonight's spooky travesty.
/
Larry frowned as he put an ear to the doll and then shrugged. "It wore off, they must be KO'd by now, oh well."
"Wait, so…why did we just…why didn't he run away? He's like, not gonna even try to escape?" Bb gawked and didn't know how to take the news at all.
"Robin was able to weaken Slade because of us!" Stafire picked up the toy of her dear friend and felt her eyes bubble up and well with a cauldron of fat tears. "You said he would be alright, he is "the" not! Robin is –
"He didn't have it in him, or else Slade's got him wound too tight. That's torture…. What can we do?" cy sat on the sofa in his astronaut costume and frowned into his palms.
Terra turned to the empath who was also distraught by the bad news. "Rae? Can that magic of yours do anything else tonight to get him back?"
"Not unless there is a way to turn back time, and that's not possible." Raven let her hood go back up, her spirits as weakened as Robin's had to be. "After tonight, my magic will weaken." The rest of the heroes' faces fell. "Then, what did all we even do?" BB begged the question.
"We gave him a chance, to pull away for a bit. I think." Larry responded to the team with a thoughtful nod. "Robin is a hard worker, even as that bad guy's student. I bet he wants a quiet night in with some zzzs to cover his full year of evil – doing 101."
"Maybe, then…. we did assist him in some way, friend?"
"Maybe, or else we just made our number one enemy into an even bigger problem."
"For us." Starfire finished the green werewolf's sentence as they all looked up at the red harvest moon spanning across the dark sky outside. "Is there…. any "Yule" magic we can try for another chance to kick Slade's but…. but not as a doll?" Terra chimed in to ask, interjecting sheepishly. "If I get to bury him in a landslide in person, I know I'll die as a happy Titan!"
/
So, it was like that, woe. And so ends Larry's tie in with the Renegade – verse! Until next time!!
