Chapter 21: Return To The Trick House! Trick Master Gets More Clever?
Clair - "Wow. We were so busy listening to Michael's little history lesson, we're back in Mauville City already."
Michael - "I'll admit I thought we were further away from the city."
Weiss - "Anyway. My group and I are gonna head to the Poké Mart to stock up on supplies."
Michael - "We'll meet you in the Pokémon Center then and have lunch. After that we'll head for Petalburg City."
With that, the party split up for the time being and went about doing their tasks. After 5-10 minutes, Weiss' group entered the Pokémon Center.
Ruby - "You girls get what we needed."
Yang - "Not quite."
Rarity - "What do you mean?"
Clair - "Upon entering the Poké Mart, we quickly double checked on how our supplies looked. After a few minutes debating the topic, we decided to just wait till we reached Petalburg City to restock on our supplies, then do the same here on our way to Fortree City."
Applejack - "What's the map for Michael?"
Michael - "I was thinking of visiting the Trick House again on our way to Petalburg City. Then again on our way to Fortree City."
Bea - "Curious to see if Trick Master has something new for us to beat?"
Michael - "Yes."
Soon the party had lunch. After paying, they headed south along Route 110. After a bit of walking, the party arrived back at the Trick House.
Michael - "You girls sure about wanting to join me for this?"
Ruby - "Why not? We're just as curious as you are."
Michael - "Point taken. Anyway. Let's just see what Trick Master has in store for us this time."
Michael then walked to the door and opened it. Upon entering the house, he felt that Trick Master was watching him. Using his Aura Sight, he walked over to the plotted plant on the right side of the room and reached into the pot, followed by pulling Trick Master out of it by his shirt collar.
Trick Master - "Hah? Grrr... How did you know I concealed myself behind this tree? You're sharp!"
Michael then followed Trick Master over to the massive scroll.
Trick Master - "You, you all have come to challenge my Trick House, haven't you? That's why you're here, isn't it? Yes, it is! Consider your challenge accepted! Enter through the scroll there, and let your challenge commence! I shall be waiting in the back!"
Trick Master then disappeared.
Pinkie - "He's never gonna let us get a word in, is he?"
Michael - "Nope. But we're here now. Might as well see what the challenge is this time."
Michael walked over in front of the scroll and pushed it aside. The girls then quickly followed him inside.
Clair - "So what's the challenge this time?"
Michael - "Looks to be like trap panels. Let's go find the secret code for the exit scroll first."
The party then began to move along the puzzle, stepping on buttons to help them reach further into the maze. Soon they found the scroll with the secret code written on it. Michael memorized the code.
Michael - "Ok now let's find the exit scroll and end this challenge."
Girls - "Right!"
After a bit more searching, they finally found the exit scroll. On the exit scroll, Michael wrote the secret code "Trick Master is smart." Upon doing so, the exit scroll's lock clicked open. Michael then pushed the exit scroll aside and walked down the stairs, entering Trick Master's back room. He and the girls then walked over to Trick Master, who was shocked to see them.
Trick Master - "Aak! You all made it to me? Hmmm... You're sharp! It took me all night to make the maze... You're almost my equal in greatness by one, two, three, four, five places! Fine! You have earned this reward!"
Trick Master handed Michael a Timer Ball for his reward, which he happily took.
Michael - "Thank you good sir."
Trick Master - "Not at all. But also scrub that smug smirk from your face! It's much too early to think you've won! I'll make new tricks to stump you all, I will. You may mock me only when you're done. Come back for the next exciting installment!"
Trick Master then disappeared again.
Flannery - "Nice to see he's not giving up yet."
Michael - "Agreed. Now come on. Let's get out of the Trick House to see it there's anything else in store."
Michael and the girls then quickly left the Trick House, then entered it again. Michael again used his Aura Sight and walked over to the dresser that was standing next to the cabinet. He then opened a drawer on the dresser and pulled Trick Master out of it.
Trick Master - "Hah? Grrr... How did you know I concealed myself in this dresser? You're sharp!"
Trick Master then got out of the drawer like it was nothing and walked over to his entrance scroll.
Michael - "Let's just get this one over with."
Michael walked over and pushed aside the scroll, the girls silently following behind him.
Whitney - "What's the challenge this time?"
Rainbow - "Seems to be like a wall panel puzzle. And it looks similar to the electricity door puzzle in Wattson's gym."
Michael - "Then let's get to finding the buttons that switch the wall panels then."
After a lot of back-and-forth panel switching, the party found the scroll with the secret code. Then after some more panel switching, they finally found the exit scroll. On the exit scroll, Michael wrote the secret code "Trick Master is coveted." Upon doing so, the exit scroll's lock clicked open. Michael then pushed the exit scroll aside and walked down the stairs, entering Trick Master's back room. He and the girls then walked over to Trick Master, who was shocked to see them.
Trick Master - "Aak! You all made it to me? Hmmm... You're sharp! It took me all night to prepare the wall panels... You're almost my equal in greatness by one, two, three, four places! Fine! You have earned this reward!"
Trick Master handed Michael a Hard Stone for his reward, which he happily took.
Iono - "Well that was his toughest one yet."
Michael - "Don't be so quick to say that Iono. You never know how tough something can be to solve until you try to. Speaking of which, I think the number of puzzles we can do is equal to the number of Gym Badges I currently have."
Roxanne - "So then for right now, he only has one challenge, number four, left for us."
Michael - "Yes. Which is why I said about stopping here on the way to Fortree City."
Clair - "But what after you get the Gym Badges from Fortree City, Mossdeep City, and Sootopolis City?"
Michael - "Team Aqua and Team Magma are gonna do something that'll bring us around here after I beat Fortree and Mossdeep Gyms. As for Sootopolis, hopefully we can find the time between beating the Gym and when the Pokémon League in Ever Grande City starts."
The party exited the Trick House, then entered it for what would right now be the final time. Michael used his Aura Sight for a third time. He then walked over to the back window on the left side of the entrance scroll and reached through, followed by pulling Trick Master back into the room.
Trick Master - "Hah? Grrr... How did you know I concealed myself beyond this window? You're sharp!"
Trick Master then got up to his feet and walked over to his entrance scroll.
Michael - "That was his best hiding spot yet. Yet sadly, my Aura Sight, along with his bald head, gave him away."
The girls snickered a bit as Michael pulled aside the entrance scroll and let them enter first.
Weiss - "Aww. A gentleman."
Michael - "You're welcome."
Michael then followed the girls inside.
Yang - "Yay! A strength puzzle this time!"
Michael - "Then let's do this in pairs. AJ and Yang as one pair. Me and Bea as the other. And we'll alternate between who moves which boulder. That fine with you girls?"
Applejack/Bea/Yang - "Sure!"
Michael - "Then let's get moving!"
The party then quickly went about, moving the numerous boulders around the room. After a good while of searching, they finally found the scroll with the secret code. Then they slowly made their way to the exit scroll. On the exit scroll, Michael wrote the secret code "Trick Master is cool." Upon doing so, the exit scroll's lock clicked open. Michael then pushed the exit scroll aside and walked down the stairs, entering Trick Master's back room. He and the girls then walked over to Trick Master, who was shocked to see them.
Trick Master - "Aak! You all made it to me? Hmmm... You're sharp! It took me all night to shove in those boulders... You're almost my equal in greatness by one, two, three places! Fine! You have earned this reward!"
Trick Master handed Michael a Smoke Ball for his reward, which he happily took.
Ruby - "Well that's the last time we'll see him for a while."
Michael - "But we'll be ready for his next challenge at least."
With that, the party left the Trick House for what would currently be the final time. As they saw how late it was getting, everyone quickly booked it for Petalburg City. Upon reaching the city, they quickly had dinner, then booked a few empty rooms and went to sleep.
