The following morning, Gray and his brother were both getting dressed when someone knocked at their door. Zach put a pair of jeans on before putting a t-shirt on while Gray put a shirt on his bare chest after putting his shorts on. The two brothers went to open the door, only to see their mother alongside Ben and a girl they didn't know. But they weren't alone since Claire was with them.

"Hi boys. Ben and I have finally gotten some free time. So we wanted to visit you." Karen exclaimed.

"Oh, nice. And who's the girl?" Gray asked.

"Meet my daughter, Savannah. Savannah, Karen's sons, Zach and Gray." Ben introduced. "Sorry not to have introduced Savannah first. But she was in her mother's custody when I met your mother."

"What happened?" Zach asked.

"Mom died. And I move with Dad and Karen." Savannah replied.

Zach and Gray put their sandals on before following their aunt and mother, Ben and his daughter down the lobby when they suddenly the same group of heavily armed US Marines as the previous day inside the hotel lobby as well. Ben and his daughter then spotted a blue-dressed man with a soldierlike teenager talking with those US Marines before Claire came to them.

"I think I recognized someone." Gray stated, much to Zach and Savannah's curiosity.

"Karen, who is your son talking about?" Savannah asked her father's girlfriend.

"The US Marines' leader. I remember having seen him on TV or whatnot." Karen replied.

Claire then took the blue-dressed man away while the teen turned to the group and walked towards the blended family. The mysterious teen then looked at Ben and his daughter before watching Karen, though she didn't look at Zach and Gray at all.

"Mom. Ben. Savannah. Meet Ava Grady. And the man dressed in blue is Aunt Claire's ex, Owen, aka Ava's father." Zach summed up.

"Owen Grady. Aka Claire Dearing's datesaster." Savannah chuckled, remembering what Karen told her about Claire's disastrous date.

The Mitchell brothers, their mother, Ben and his daughter laughed uncontrollably, catching the US Marines' attention. As the family composed themselves, the leader walked towards them with his M4A1 carbine in his shooting hand while his off hand was holding the US Marine's helmet. Savannah then examined the officer and saw his facial features reminded her of the late John Hammond, the founder of the original Jurassic Park.

"I don't believe it! Karen! Dad! We're facing Tim Murphy!" Savannah exclaimed, getting everyone's attention.

"Like John Hammond's grandson?" Gray asked excitedly.

"No. Like the heroic US Marine Private who got promotion after promotion after displaying leadership skills and outstanding bravery. He was a Private when we were toddlers. He was a Sergeant when we started school. And he was a Gunnery Sergeant when we were starting in junior school. He was a 1st Lieutenant when we were still in junior school. And now he's a Captain." Savannah stated.

"Actually. Both of you are fucking correct. But I'm now only a shadow of the kid I once was. Now could you fucking stop calling me as Hammond's fucking grandson? I prefer being called a fucking murderer and a fucking coward." Tim dryly stated.

Just as Owen and Claire came back laughing, they saw everyone, including Claire's family were stiff. Owen understood that Tim had called himself a murderer and a coward, prompting the former US Navy man understood it was actually survivor's guilt since Tim lived when good men had died. But now, Claire and Owen were determined to have Tim tell the whole story, since one of the customers happened to have been the translator in Tim's platoon during the events the USMC officer now blamed himself over.

"Sir. You're no murderer. And even less of a coward." the man replied.

"What do you fucking know Ahmed?" Tim told his former translator.

"I know you're actually a hero. Those French soldiers back in August 2008 didn't die because of you." Ahmed answered to his former boss.

"I fucking shot an ally who was yelling for my fucking help! And he was a fucking kid!" Tim shouted.

"No! You heard too much his part of the story. But let me tell you the platoon members' side of the story." Ahmed began as the crowd, among whom Claire and Owen as well as Zach & Gray, Karen, Ben and Savannah, gathered around the US Marines, who also wanted to hear an eyewitness tell his side of what happened in Uzbin valley in 2008. And turned out many of Ahmed companions were also US Marines when these tragic events unfolded.

"Yeah. Ahmed's fucking right, Sir! You didn't leave anyone behind back then in '08." A former Marine named Robinson continued as Barry Sembène arrived.

"You didn't leave the dead or run away at the first gunshots. You stayed with us and ran with the last survivors before going back in." another Marine veteran named Lopez kept on.

"Lopez is right. You're nothing you claim to be." Wilkins, a Marine veteran, added.

"You're a hero, Murph. I was among the reinforcements that came an hour later." Barry said, having served in Afghanistan himself.

Then, Savannah told, "We all must hear how heroic Tim Murphy actually was. We all deserve to know the truth. Not the rambling of a self-proclaimed coward who's trying to flee from his past."

A tourist then said with a Scottish accent, "Yeah. They all right. We all know how John Hammond's grandson made a name for himself. But we need to hear about the real him."

An Arab woman then screamed, "Everyone's right, Captain! You're no coward! Tell everyone everything."

Another former US Marine named Fickett then began. "It was August 18th 2008 in Afghanistan. We were alongside a French Army platoon named Carmin Two as a liaison team..."

Tim checked on his men, who were Ahmed, Robinson, Fickett, Lopez and Wilkins as well seven other US Marines while the French platoon leader, Chief Warrant Officer Gaetan Evrard briefed his men one last time before everyone mounted the VAB armored troop transports. Tim and his men were sitting in the lead vehicle before everyone rolled out of the joint French-US forward operating base in Tora, Kabul province. The VABs drove for about one hour before stopping near the village of Sper Kunday. But Tim, Evrard and their men all knew they weren't welcome at all in this village. After carefully walking through the village, Tim, his Marines, Evrard and thirty of his paratroopers began climbing up the mountain when one of Evrard's men collapsed due to heat exhaustion. Two of Evrard's men and one of Tim's Marines helped him get hydrated when gunfire suddenly erupted from the sides of the mountain.

"RPG!" Wilkins suddenly yelled.

By this stage everyone understood it was an ambush. When the French medic, Rodolphe Penon, was hit, two French paratroopers ran for him before dragging him to safety while Lopez tried to retrieve the FAMAS left behind to no avail. Tim Murphy being the squad leader of the US Marines decided to provide cover fire with his M16A4 rifle while Lopez and Fickett tried to retrive the FAMAS once again. But this time, they both saw the French radio operator Private First Class Alexis Taani getting riddled with bullet to the chest. Evrard and Tim's corpsman tried to revive the French soldier, to no avail since Taani was already dead. Tim ordered his men to fire back then ran for an injured French soldier named Damien Buil, successully retrieving and pulling him to the safety of the joint platoon before going back in to take Buil's FAMAS rifle. But the FAMAS was hit by a stray bullet which sent sharp shrapnels to Tim's arm, grazing him. But Tim didn't want to give up when he saw Julien Le Pahun, another of Evrard's men try to get to the top of the mountain. But Tim ran after the young French soldier, only to see the latter get killed by a headshot. Tim then gave orders to his men to call for reinforcements.

"Solano. Call in any fucking aircraft there is to scare those bastards off! And I mean now! We got guys falling everywhere around us!" Tim ordered his radio operator.

"Headquarters, headquarters, this is Rapier Three in liaison with Carmin Two. The radio operator is dead and many soldiers have been injured. Requesting reinforcements and air support immediately. I say again, we need reinforcements and air strikes immediately to help us get the upper hand. Over." Solano said.

"Sorry guys. The Warthogs and Harriers are at bingo fuel. I say again, Warthogs and Harriers are at bingo fuel. Over." The AWACS operator replied.

"Sir. Planes are at bingo fuel. They can't do anything for us." Solano informed Tim and Evrard.

"Fuck! You know what? Taani is dead. Take over the radio. Evrard, how many guys do you..." Tim replied before seeing French soldier Anthony Rivière getting hit.

The crowd was astonished to hear what actually happened from eyewitnesses' tales of the deadly Uzbin valley ambush. Savannah and the other civilians discovered Tim Murphy was actually a fearless leader but also a competent commander who wanted to keep his men alive, regardless of their race or nationality. Zach and Gray discovered Tim Murphy under a radically different outtake.

One hour after the first shots, Evrard's platoon was decimated and scattered while Tim and most of his men, including Ahmed, Robinson, Lopez, Fickett and Wilkins were injured. Reinforcements did arrive and help did materialize in the form of US Air Force A-10 Warthogs and US Marine AV-8B Harrier II+ strike planes. Help also arrived in the form of French Mirage 2000 and Super Etendard fighter jets accompanied by US Army OH-58D Kiowa Warrior gunships. Tim kept leading his men while still under fire as Evrard ordered his men to break contact. Tim and some of his men provided cover fire while Wilkins and Lopez helped injured French soldiers down the hill to be evacuated. Robinson and Fickett also helped out by assisting the corpsman to treat the wounded French soldiers who were still alive as many of their injured comrades already died to blood loss.

Savannah, as well as other survivors who were sitting on their computers thousands of kilometers away were now hearing the testimony of survivors who had seen the ambush with their own eyes. The families of the dead French soldiers also heard eyewitnesses for the first time in probably years, since many civilians at Jurassic World were livestreaming the testimonies with their phone and sharing it. They knew a direct participant named Tim Murphy didn't dare to speak up do to his own feeling of guilt over leaving allies to die when it actually wasn't his fault at all.

At night, the last survivors, among whom Tim and Fickett, left the mountain before running to a French Army VAB that had come back for them before the driver closed the ramp. Tim and Fickett were alive but injured so the corpsman summarily treated them before breaking contact. The VAB arrived minutes later to the rendezvous point, Tim was relieved that all of his squad was alive but they were barely treated for their wounds. Tim and Fickett, as well as Robinson, Lopez and Ahmed all wanted to accompany the French Army's Carmin 3 platoon go back in and retrieve their fallen comrades bodies. After finding the dead bodies, Tim sat on a rock and began crying while smoking a grand total of fourteen packs of cigarettes after seeing the ten dead French soldiers. And from then on, he didn't get over his personal guilt of leaving good men to die.

"Was that what actually happened on August 18th 2008?" Ben asked.

Just then, a former French Army soldier named Moreau, said, "Yeah. That's what actually happened. Tim Murphy kept giving orders alongside Gaetan Evrard while also helping the wounded get to safety."

"Then who fucking dragged those injured soldiers to safety?" Tim asked. "Who did?"

"You did. I was there." Solano replied.

"Yes. You tried to save our guys alongside Solano. But they still lost too much blood." Fares, a former French soldier concluded.

Tim then suddenly reminisced about the time he spent in Kabul province in Afghanistan. He also remembered the faces of the French soldiers he and his squad had spent so much time with before seeing his current men nod. He also saw everyone downloading the video onto their phone before recognizing his former men were actually right. Tim didn't leave the Frenchmen to die in this valley. He never even left the last soldiers' side so that Evrard could evacuate.

"Sir. You're a war hero, Sir." One of Tim's current men said.

Tim almost broke down upon finally remembering what he really did during the Uzbin valley ambush to save as many troops as possible. He took a picture of his squad, callsign Rapier Three, posing alongside Carmin Two before their departure to Afghanistan when they were still training in the mountains in France then another picture of him and his men posing alongside the whole of Carmin Two platoon two days before going into Uzbin valley. On both pictures, Tim and the ones who were his men back then as well as the French soldiers were smiling like idiots while carrying Tim and six of his men had ACOG-fitted M16A4 rifles, four of the US Marines had M16A4s with M203A1 grenade launchers, and the last two had M249 SAW machine guns while most of the French soldiers had FAMAS rifles while a few of them had LGI grenade launchers. Others had FR F-2 sniper rifles while some had FN Minimi machine guns.

And he had circled the faces of the dead French soldiers who had been killed this day and written their names beneath them. He remembered those names as it was yesterday before turning to the crowd. Ava understood that Tim Murphy wanted to say something.

"Do you fucking know what it takes to remember those names, as if they were embedded into your memories like a logo with a branding iron? I remember their names as if it was yesterday. Melam Baouma, Damien Buil, Kevin Chassaing, Sebastien Devez, Damien Gaillet, Nicolas Gregoire, Julien Le Pahun, Rodolphe Penon, Anthony Riviere and Alexis Taani. These are ten names you don't forget after months with them. It's like I lost part of a family back then in August 2008." Tim said with tears in his voice as he finally realized how wrong he had with his own survivor's guilt.

Lopez then hugged his former commander before letting go. Just as Lopez walked backwards, Fickett hugged Tim, joined in by Ahmed. As both of them released their former superior, Wilkins and Fickett also hugged Tim before Moreau and Fares shook Tim's hand one after another. Tim Murphy was now feeling he was finally at peace with his own painful past. He finally remembered he and his men actually went back in to retrieve their friends' dead body alongside a French Army platoon and another squad from Tim's ANGLICO who was assigned as liaison to said French platoon. He also remembered French Caracal helicopters and US Army UH-60M Blackhawks coming for everyone at the top of the mountain. But he remembered the success of Operation Septentrion, during which Tim, who had by then been promoted a rank, and his men took control of Uzbin valley alongside hundreds of French soldiers.
