Mrs Sandwich's - Whickber Street
Crowley took his box of plants up the narrow stairs. The swinging door opened at the top, just missing him. The person at the top, took a step back and held the door for him. "Haia"
"Cheers mate" Crowley nodded as he passed. They moved smoothly round each other and he plonked is box down on Mrs Sandwich's reception desk
"Off" she waved at the box of plants
"Sorry. Hang on" he picked up the box and went into his room, put the box down on a chair. Picked up a small potted plant, with three red flowers in it.
He turned quickly and returned the few steps to the Reception
"A flower, for my flower" he set the pot down to the left of the bottles of nail varnish and hand cream on the desk. He took a small step backwards to assess the response of the present.
"Rent's due tomorrow, Petal"
"Lovely weather for it. Not forgotten. Have you got a appointment book? "
She looked up and made eye contact. "I think there was one in the drawer, when I moved in"
"Fab. By end of the day, I bet you a shiny penny, you will be needed it."
Lifting the plant, she read the label. It said Crocosmia. Nodding, she turned the pot so the flowers faced her.
Crowley turned and went to his room, closing the door behind himself. He then opened the door again, picked up a bottle of varnish. "yonk" he said as he disappeared back behind the closing door.
