Bug–Catchers Going on Strike

Kanto's Bug–Catchers, a staple of a new Pokémon trainer's journey, have declared they are going on strike, effective immediately.
The Viridian City Bug Catching Club made the announcement after saying they were "fed up with always being the whipping boys" and were protesting at the lack of financial compensation for their low reputations.
The Club are financed by Viridian City, who fund the group to encourage traffic through the area. It is thought that almost sixty percent of the city's economy comes from Pokémon trainers passing through.
Bug Catcher Wade said that the movement was about proper reward and recognition for the thankless work that goes in to his job.
He said he "hated having to use bugs" and that it stifled his potential as a Pokémon trainer. He acknowledged he was happy to enter negotiations as quickly as possible to limit the negative impact that the strike would have on the region.
One solution, a source in Viridian City said, was to allow Bug–Catchers to use a limited amount of Grass type Pokémon during competitive battles.
Wade would go on to say: "We'll just have to see the solutions put on the table, because let's face it, how the hell are you supposed to beat the Elite Four when all you have in your pocket is a Metapod?"
