A/N

I'm terribly sorry for updating a new chapter which is just entirely an authors note. I am doing a REWRITE of Snap Back to Reality. You can find it under SHIFTING SANDS on my account. This is a new story entirely if you read it. You can still enjoy Snap Back as it's own stand alone, but Shifting Sands will be a bit of a different take on Hina's story. I am writing it from scratch, and I know this going to divide some readers who would prefer I just continue with Snap Back. However I have changed as a person since I began writing and have come to see a lot of errors and bad takes in my story. Snap Back especially has a very dear place in my heart, and I wished to do the characters in it a bit more justice in this rewrite.

There was also quite a lot of criticism levelled towards Snap Back, that now that I've taken a step back emotionally from my writing, I can see the validity of. I hear you readers. A lot of the story I would go back and change, hence why I am releasing a rewrite. I can promise only the first few chapters will be similar to Snap Back, but Shifting Sands does take a whole new route with Hina and her story. It's less ROOT centric, a bit more of a political/war thriller, with family drama, lots of action, and of course a bit of shitty humour.

I am retconning any romantic elements that I had in Snap Back, outside of course Hina's wife from her past life. Hina is bisexual. If you don't like, it is what it is. I myself am a lesbian, and Hina is somewhat of a self-insert, so this is to be expected. I made her bisexual so later down the line she could end up with whoever has the most chemistry with her. However romance will not be a major part of this story since I don't particularly like writing romance or think I'm good at it. Hina is just a bit of a simp for pretty boys and girls and that has also been a small part of her character in Snap Back. I hate that I even to point this out because to me her sexuality is only one small part of Hina, but I've received quite a handful of homophobic comments so I just had to address it here.

Shifting Sands will still very much be about the horrors of war, the human condition, and our fight to understand and overcome it. However despite the themes being the same, I am taking the story in a completely different direction, so feel free to read Shifting Sands as its own thing.

I'll reply to some comments, but not all because unfortunately I work full time and am doing my masters degree at the same time. This is purely a passionate hobby I have. Thanks for listening friends and stay safe wherever you are.
