Welcome to Bayville
Amity Park. A city known for constant ghost activities. Also, it happens to be the home of Danny Fenton, also unknown to the public as Danny Phantom. It was two weeks since school at Casper High ended for the summer. Two weeks since the incident with Freakshow using the Reality Gauntlet to manipulate reality into his own image. Thankfully, his plan was foiled due to Jazz giving vital information about him having ghost envy. Using that to his advantage, Danny defeated his foe, restored reality, and reincarcerated Freakshow. However, he erased the memories of not only Freakshow, but also the Guys in White, who were hunting him, and the memories of everyone who knew his identity, except for his friends, Sam and Tucker, and his sister Jazz.
In addition, before he destroyed the artifact so it'll never be used again, he invited his friends to come with him to his family vacation, but they had an answer of their own; one that Danny didn't anticipate.
Flashback:
Once Dash and Paulina walked away, after the latter made a joke about him going on a trip to "Loserville" quite harshly, Danny instantly remembered about the current situation.
"Oh man, that's right! Everything's back to the way it was!" Danny eagerly turns to his friends as he said, "Which means we should be getting ready for our vacation!"
However, his friends had a different idea as Sam first spoke up saying,
"Uh, if it's okay, Danny, pass."
Then Tucker spoke up with his answer
"Yeah. We already had one cross country trip together. I don't think we can handle another."
"Yeah. I guess you're right." Danny replies as he glances away in defeat.
Then, he looks at the gauntlet still on his hand before Danny transforms as he said
"All right. Time to finish this."
Danny flies to a high altitude before he flings the artifact into the air. Taking aim, he fires a ghost ray, disintegrating the Reality Gauntlet into bits.
Flashback ends
Danny recently enters his room with a sigh of relief as he tossed his luggage aside before he stretches and said to himself.
"It's good to be home."
However, he had another thought in mind. Danny instantly thought about his friends Sam and Tucker who chose to remain in Amity Park. Leaving his room, Danny sees his parents who were leaving their own room after dropping their luggage.
"Mom? Dad? I'm going out to see Sam and Tucker." Danny announced to his parents.
"All right, son." Jack replied. "Be back soon."
Once Danny left the house, he quickly closes the door, looks around to see that the coast was clear. Instantly, Danny changed to his alter ego, Danny Phantom before flying off to see his friends.
Fortunately for him, Maddie was busy checking the mail as she didn't even notice that her son became a ghost and flew off. Otherwise, she would've attacked him on sight. When the Fenton woman opened the mailbox, she sees two large envelopes that were addressed "To the Parents of Daniel James Fenton," and "To the Parents of Jasmine Fenton" respectively.
"What's this?" Maddie asks herself.
Jack noticed his wife entering the house while seeing the large envelopes in her hands as well.
"Maddie?" he asks, getting his wife's attention. "What are those for?"
"You mean who these are for." Maddie corrects. "They're for us."
Maddie hands one of the large envelopes to Jack before they both sat down on the couch to open them. Curiosity was at its peak for both the Fentons as they each pulled out a sheet of paper that was on top of what appeared to be a stack of papers.
It turns out that there was some sort of message addressed to them. As they were reading it through, their expressions slowly changed from curious to shock as they continued.
Once they were finished, both Jack and Maddie shouted in complete shock
"WHAT?!"
Jazz heard their shout from the kitchen when she was getting something to drink before the redhead came into the living room to see her parents on the couch, completely shocked as well as seeing the envelopes on the coffee table and papers in their respective hands.
"Mom? Dad? What's going on?" Jazz asks with a worried tone.
Jack and Maddie glanced at one another before they turn to their daughter.
"Princess..." Jack begins. "When your brother gets home, we all have to talk."
Meanwhile, Danny was flying through the skies of Amity Park before he takes cover to transform back. Instantly, after emerging from his hiding place, Danny runs towards the Nasty Burger, hoping to meet his friends there. Right when he opened the doors, and entered the fast-food joint, he sees them at a table as they notice him.
"Hey guys!" Danny greets.
"Danny?" Sam asks. "When did you get back?"
"Just now." Danny replies. "I wanted to see you guys."
"Dude, don't you think you should start packing?" Tucker asks.
Tucker's question left Danny confused as he asked
"Packing? What are you talking about?"
Sam and Tucker glanced at one another, realizing that their friend indeed recently returned from his family vacation.
"Danny...?" Sam hesitates
Danny had a feeling of worry by the goth girl's tone before seeing both of his friends stand up
"You better come and see this."
The three teens left the restaurant as Sam and Tucker led Danny towards Casper High. Once they have arrived there, the ghost boy was shocked beyond measure.
The campus had a "Do Not Cross" tape surrounding the perimeter. There were demolition vehicles and crews occupying the area. In addition to that, the football field was completely barren; even the bleachers were missing.
"What happened here?" Danny asks.
"Apparently, Casper High has closed down." Tucker replies.
Danny looked at African boy as if he was insane before Tucker continued to explain.
"Somebody snitched on the A-Listers, informing the superintendent of their bullying and the faculty doing nothing about it."
"Seriously?!" Danny asks in shock.
"Dead serious." Sam replied on Tucker's behalf.
"Not only that, but this person got all of the evidence from surveillance footage of all of the A-Listers, except for one, bullying everyone else." Tucker says before adding. "And showing that the teachers, even Mr. Lancer and Principal Ishiyama, doing nothing to rectify it."
Across town, the A-Listers who were caught and identified were getting the scolding like never before.
At the Baxter residence, Dash had a cringed look as his dad shouted at the blonde
"WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY FOR YOURSELF?!"
In the Sanchez manor, Paulina was face to face with father who was clearly unamused and angry as he said to her
"I'm very disappointed in you, mija! I can't believe you did all of this!"
However, only Star was spared, due to the fact that there was no evidence to prove that she participated in the tormenting of her fellow students.
Back with the trio, Danny pretty much summed Tucker's explanation.
"So, basically with Casper High closed down and going to be demolished soon, Mr. Lancer and the other teachers got fired; including the principal, where do you suppose we go when the school year begins?"
"Well, apparently the parents of the shallow spoiled brats paid compensation to the families of all of the victims, including us." Sam replied. "The superintendent also had to pay compensation due to the lawsuits brought upon the faculty."
Danny looked at her with confusion as the goth girl noticed and said.
"With everyone who attended Casper High leaving Amity Park, we're all heading to this city in New York called Bayville."
"Bayville?" Danny asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, dude." Tucker said. "Since the housing is abundant, we're all moving there. And there's a high school called Bayville High."
"This is probably going to be a long summer." Danny droned.
Then, a thought came in mind about relocating as Danny said.
"With everyone moving, I know that the ghosts will begin to haunt Bayville when my parents rebuild the Fenton portal at our new place, wherever that will be." Danny comments.
Tucker smiled a small one as he said.
"Perk up, Danny. At least the ghosts won't bother you for a time-being until the portal is rebuilt."
Danny thought Tucker was being sarcastic as he said
"Gee, thanks for that."
Suddenly, the trio heard one of the demolition workers barking orders to others as the machinery started to rev up. Then, they watched as the crane started to swing the wrecking ball, destroying Casper High, one area at a time.
"Well, if my parents got the memo on this, I might as well head home and start packing up." Danny comments.
After running to hiding place, away from prying eyes, Danny transformed before flying off to return home whille waving to Sam and Tucker, who waved back before returning home themselves.
Danny turns back to his human form before he enters Fenton Works. Upon closing the door, he sees his family in the living room as they all saw him.
"I'm guessing you all know that we're moving to Bayville, right?" Danny asks.
"How did you know?" Jazz asks.
"Sam and Tucker told me everything." Danny replies to his sister. "Though, I'm not sure who spilled the beans." he adds while glancing away.
His parents and sister saw that he was just as curious as they were.
"Well, son." Jack starts. "I suggest you and your sister both start packing up." he stands up. "Your mother and I will need to get a ton of moving boxes if we're going to move to Bayville."
"And with the check that we have received that are worth 5 million smackers, it'll be easier for us." Maddie adds with a little excitement.
"Oh, that reminds me, I better send V-man a forwarding address when we settle in!" Jack noted.
Danny silently groaned at the thought of Vlad coming to Bayville once in a while; something that was considered worse than the ghosts beginning to haunt the city that was different and far away from Amity Park.
Eventually, when Jack and Maddie left Fenton Works, Jazz placed a hand on her brother's shoulder with a sympathetic look, as she assured.
"Don't worry, little bro. I'm pretty sure it'll be a while before you'll have to deal with that cheese-head again."
"Yeah." Danny said in response. "I know."
"Well, we better start packing by the time mom and dad get back." Jazz said before she adds. "Though, I'm not sure if we'll be able to fit the Ops Center at our new place."
Danny and Jazz return to their respective rooms to engage in stripping them of their items and furniture, now that their current location is no longer considered their home. In a matter of almost an hour, Jack and Maddie returned home with tons of boxes their entire family will need.
It was Saturday when the Fentons were assisting the moving all of the boxes into one of the moving trucks. They specifically requested two moving trucks to fit all of their furniture, household items, and their equipment from the lab in their old basement. In addition to that, they've managed to remove the equipment out of the Ops Center, but they were unable to disassemble everything. Instead, Jack and Maddie decided to rebuild it at their new home, once they've settled into it, that is.
Once the last of their boxes were loaded into the truck, the movers closed the shutters while the Fenton family got onboard the Fenton Family Assault Vehicle and began driving off with the movers following them.
"Well, Bayville. Here we come!" Jack says with enthusiasm.
"I'll tell you honey, building the portal was easy, but taking it apart is not." Maddie comments.
"At least, we now know why it stalled out when we tried to turn it on." Jack comments in response.
"Tell me about it." Maddie replies. "Next time, we'll place the switch outside of the portal."
All the while, Jazz was reading a book while Danny was busy looking outside through the windshield. The ghost boy could not believe that after over 14 years, he and his family were leaving the very city that they once considered home, despite all of the ghost attacks.
Now, they were traveling to a different city in a different state; one that will be called their new home. However, the drive to Bayville was not easy.
Once they reached a certain point of the freeway, the Fentons discovered that there was heavy traffic, much to their dismay. There were also several vehicles honking their horns.
"Seems like everyone is moving from Amity Park." Maddie comments as she looked on the traffic jam.
Even Jack honked the horn before he partially exits the window and shook his fist while shouting
"HEY! MOVE YOUR STUPID PIECE OF JUNK!"
Other people were also shouting to either silence Jack or shout at others to move their vehicles.
"Looks like it'll be quite a while until we're able to drive on." Maddie said with a sigh.
Meanwhile, Danny had his own thoughts as he pondered to himself
"Wonder what Bayville will be like?"
He wasn't the only one with his own thoughts questioning the new city while in the traffic jam.
In another vehicle, Tucker was thinking to himself
"Hope there are restaurants as good as The Nasty Burger, or better yet, they build one in Bayville."
With Sam, she was thinking to herself
"I hope my parents will finally get jobs there, for once."
Dash was thinking to himself
"I wonder if Bayville High will need a quarterback for their football team? If so, I'm the right guy for the job!"
Paulina was also in thought through the traffic jam, but were different from the others.
"I wonder how big our new house will be."
Despite still being grounded, just as the rest of her A-Lister peers with the exception of one, the Latina still looked forward to seeing her new home and imagined that she and her family were going to live in a mansion.
Star was lost in her thoughts, too. Even though she was the only one who was spared from any scolding or punishment, she too had no choice but to move with her family to Bayville and enroll in Bayville High as well.
"I hope to make real friends at the new school, not like Paulina, Dash, or any of them."
Even Valerie was pondering on what may lie in wait at Bayville and Bayville High, respectively. Apparently, she had to resign from employment at The Nasty Burger due to relocating to a new city. However, there was one thought that crossed her mind.
"I just hope those ghosts don't follow us to the new city."
The traffic jam was still an ongoing nightmare for everyone who are on their journey from Amity Park to Bayville. The drivers of every vehicle continued to honk their horns to get others to move, with no success...or progress. Eventually, after about 2 hours, the traffic slowly started to move back to normal, much to the relief of every driver in every vehicle on the freeway as everyone thought in sync
"FINALLY!"
After a journey of three days, the Fenton family in the FFAV with the two moving trucks following behind, finally arrived to the state of New York, at their intended destination, Bayville; just as everybody else did. In everyone's point of view, the city was considered larger than Amity Park with more room, and the housing was nicer than what their old hometown had to offer.
The only downside to it, in a certain A-Lister's point of view, there were no mansions to choose from, much to her dismay. Each two-story house that was available was considered a hovel to her, despite that everybody else considered them very nice in comparison to their previous houses.
Parking alongside the curb, the Fentons step out of their transport to get a good view of their new house that was an enormous two-story building.
Jack whistled with impression before he comments
"Nice place."
"I'll say." Maddie comments in agreement.
"Come on, kids!" Jack says to Danny and Jazz. "Let's take a look at the inside of our new home."
Walking by the sign on the lawn that once read "For Sale" but with the new word, "Sold" diagonally over it, the Fentons entered their new house via the key Jack received from a real estate agent previously. They saw that their new house was just as enormous inside as it was outside. The kitchen was larger than the one they had at Fenton Works, there were window seats in the living room, even the rooms were twice as large as their old ones with two of them possessing its own bathroom. However, there was one area that Jack and Maddie were curious about.
"I wonder how large our basement is?" Maddie asks.
"Let's go see!" Jack replies.
After locating the basement, the Fentons go downstairs to enter that particular part of their new house.
The sheer size of the basement was massive; obviously larger than their old basement. There was more than enough room for Jack and Maddie to rebuild their lab, build a section for their anti-ghost weapon arsenal, even plenty of space to rebuild the Fenton Ghost Portal.
"Amazing!" Jack says.
"It's perfect!" Maddie comments in agreement.
"Come on, kids! Let's get settled in!" Jack says to his children.
And so, the Fentons began to remove their moving boxes, furniture, and lab equipment, with the help of the movers. By the time the last moving box was removed from the truck, it was nightfall. With the job done at last, the movers closed the shutters of their now empty moving trucks before driving away. Thankfully, for the Fentons, the movers already assembled their beds in their respective bedrooms. Even though boxes were stacked in a corner, the family were rather happy that the only thing remaining was to unpack and place everything to where they desire.
"Man, what day!" Danny said with a yawn. "Hope I could meet up with Sam and Tucker tomorrow to explore this place after I unpack.
As Danny fell asleep, a few others were having their own opinions on their new homes when they have finished unloading and settling to unpack tomorrow as well
In her new room, Sam was starting to fall asleep as she thought to herself,
"This place is not so bad. Still, it's better than living in a mansion back at Amity Park."
With Tucker, it was obvious that he liked his new home and new room as he thought to himself
"I can get used to this!"
In a different house, Valerie felt like she moved back into her old neighborhood in Amity Park when she looked around her new room.
"This house reminds me of my old house when my dad and I were rich. I just hope we don't lose this one like what happened last time."
There was only one individual who found her new home unappealing.
With Paulina, she was livid over the fact that she wasn't living in a mansion like before in Amity Park. Despite that her family's new house was large like the rest, she was still miffed about living here as she thought to herself
"I can't believe I'm living in this dump! The sooner papa finds a mansion, the better!"
Eventually, she too fell asleep, being unable to fight it.
The next day, after having breakfast, Danny was finished unpacking and arranging his new room to his liking. Going downstairs, he sees his parents in the living room just about done with the unpacking and arranging as well as Jazz being done arranging the kitchen.
"Mom? Dad? I'm going with Sam and Tucker to explore Bayville for a while." Danny said.
"All right, Danny." Maddie said as she pulled out a vase from an open moving box.
"Be back soon, son." Jack said. "Though, we'll be finished with rebuilding the lab and the Fenton portal by the time you get back."
It was then that Jazz snuck a Fenton Thermos to Danny as she whispered with a wink
"Just in case."
After a nod, Danny left his new house to meet up with Sam and Tucker after contacting them to meet him at an intersection of the neighborhood.
The walk was soothing, despite that the trio were curious of their new hometown and what it had to offer.
"This place sure is bigger than Amity Park." Danny comments.
"Tell me about it." Sam said in agreement while looking around. "At least the shallow snobs are pleasantly low."
"I'm still steamed that this city doesn't have The Nasty Burger here!" Tucker said while waving his arms. "It should be a crime not having the establishment."
While Sam rolled her eyes in annoyance, Danny suddenly stopped to see a restaurant that was completely new to him as it would be to his friends, or practically everyone from Amity Park for that matter. In fact, it may not be The Nasty Burger, but it was a fast food burger joint that could be a rival to it.
"Tuck? Why not try that Gut Bomb place over there?" Danny asks while pointing to said fast food joint.
Tucker looked at it hard and clear. While it wasn't The Nasty Burger that the African boy was familiar with, the place still served burgers of their own. However, he was skeptical about it at first. Eventually, his taste for meat got the better of him as he gave in and said.
"Well, I guess we could all try it out."
"Seriously?" Sam asks in annoyance
Ignoring Sam, Tucker just ran to the burger joint while the Goth girl rolled her eyes in annoyance as she mumbled
"There better be a vegetarian menu."
Danny shrugged as he followed his friends into the Gut Bomb. The interior reminded him of the Nasty Burger, but it was larger, and by the looks of how many customers there are, more popular than what his previous hangout could offer.
Sam was a bit tolerant at first, but then she saw the vegan selections on the menu, much to her relief. As she began to ponder on what to order, Danny was still looking at the menu himself, also trying to decide what to order. Eventually, he made his choice before ordering his meal. However, the trio didn't even notice that there was a group of other teenagers who were there before they arrived.
Right when they placed their trays onto the table, they heard an obnoxious, yet familiar voice
"Hey, Fen-turd!"
Danny rolled his eyes in annoyance as did Sam and Tucker. They thought that the usual nuissance would stop, given with what had happened, but it seems he never learns.
"What do you want, Dash?" Danny asks in annoyance.
"I just came to check out this place." Dash replies. "Though, I didn't expect to see you here. Looks like there's still a good side to this new town." the blond jock pounding his fist into his hand.
"Dude, haven't you learned your lesson?" Tucker asks, equally annoyed. "Bayville isn't like Amity Park, you know?"
"So?" Dash asks. "Still doesn't mean I'll stop wailing on you!"
Right when Dash was about to make a grab for Danny, the blonde jock felt someone tap his shoulder. Turning around, Dash sees a boy who was taller than him with brown hair and red sunglasses, clad in a red shirt and brown pants. He was backed by an African boy with blonde short hair, in a white sleeveless t-shirt and shorts. The third boy wore red and brown clothing that was baggy and had dark hair.
"There a problem here?" the boy with the shades asked, completely unamused.
Dash had a sheepish grin that was combined with nervousness as he chuckled while holding his hands up in mock surrender.
"N-no. Nothing at all."
"Then, I suggest you leave."
Dash didn't need to be told twice as he slowly...and fearfully inched towards the door while the three boys, and the three girls who were with them, watched the jock's movement before he makes it to the door and bolts after getting to the outside.
It was then that the boy with shades asked,
"You okay?"
"Yeah. Thanks for that." Danny replied.
"I take it you three are new here?"
"Yeah, I'm Danny Fenton." Danny introduced himself. "These are my friends, Sam and Tucker." he gestures to his friends. "We're from Amity Park."
"I see. My name is Scott. These are my friends," Scott gestures to the other boys first, "Kurt, Evan..."
Then, the girls stood up as Scott wanted to introduce them too. In Danny's point of view, there was a redhead with green eyes in a yellow top and blue pants, the second girl was a brunette who wore a turquoise top and light brown pants. However, what caught Danny's attention was the goth girl of the group who wore green and black clothing and had a white streak in front of her auburn hair. Every aspect of her reminded the ghost boy of Sam, despite his friend being there.
Eventually, Scott continued with the introduction of the remainder of his friends.
"This is Jean," he gestures to the redhead, "Kitty," gesturing to the brunette before gesturing to the goth girl, "And this is Rogue."
"Nice to meet you all." Sam said politely.
"Yeah, really nice to meet you." Tucker said, rather enthusiastically.
Sam rolled her eyes before she pulled Tucker down while saying to him
"Down, boy!"
"So, when did you, like, arrive in Bayville?" Kitty asked.
"We've actually moved here since yesterday." Danny replied. "We're just about fully settled in."
"Not to mention, our school at Amity Park got closed down and demolished." Tucker adds.
"Whoa!" Evan says in shock. "Seriously?"
"Yeah. So, basically we'll be attending Bayville High once the school year starts." Sam says in response before adding. "After we enroll, that is."
"Cool. Looks like we'll be getting you three as new students!" Kurt exclaimed in excitement.
"Well, not just us." Danny comments.
"What do you mean?" Jean asks in curiosity.
"Remember when Tucker said about our high school being closed down?" Danny asks.
It didn't take long for Rogue to put two and two together as she asks
"Ya mean that jerk will beh there too?" she asks.
"Yeah, unfortunately." Sam said. "Along with every other shallow brat that we know of." muttering on the latter part.
The other teens were silent for a minute before Scott said to them
"Well, hopefully you three will be able to adjust here in Bayville."
Danny nodded before saying
"Thanks."
"Like, no problem." Kitty replied with a smile.
After the other teens left, despite Tucker's silent protest, Sam managed to calm him down as she said in a stern voice.
"Tucker, that's enough."
"Sorry."
Danny couldn't help, but wonder about the new teens he and his friends have met recently. As he sat down, he was still in thought about them, especially when Scott intervened and stopped Dash.
"Well, they can't be all bad, could they?"
Eventually, they all began to eat their lunch for the first time in their new hometown. In Tucker's point of view, the burgers were quite good at the Gut Bomb; almost as edible as the Nasty Burger in his opinion. However, no one who was native to Bayville knew what Tucker was talking about.
Hours have passed and the sun was starting to set on the horizon.
"I better get home." Sam said. "Before my parents get too overreactive."
"I'm going home too." Tucker said. "Hopefully, we'll get to see more of Bayville." he adopts a sly voice. "And maybe those girls who Scott brought along with his friends can tour us."
Sam rolled her eyes before she elbowed him in the ribs, causing Tucker to yelp in pain.
"Keep your hormones under control, Tucker!" she scolds.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow, then." Danny said.
Before they could all go in the same direction to head home, Danny's ghost sense went off for the first time since arriving in Bayville.
"Oh great, perfect timing." Danny bemoaned, knowing that his parents were finished with rebuilding the lab and the Fenton Portal.
Sam and Tucker noticed it too as Sam asked.
"You want us to come along?"
"No thanks." Danny said while shaking his head. "You guys go on ahead. It's probably the Box Ghost trying to haunt this town since he's had no success in Amity Park."
Sam and Tucker nodded in response before they ran off. All the while, Danny ran to an alley for cover. Seeing that the coast was all clear, he shouts his battle cry
"I'M GOING GHOST!"
Danny transformed in his ghost form before he flew off into the city, tracking down the ghost that alerted him. However, due to not turning invisible, he was unknowingly spotted by a few familiar teenagers on the ground.
"Guys, look!" Rogue calls to her friends.
Scott and the other look to see what Rogue was looking at. Instantly, they see a white-haired ghostly teenager in black and white. Worried about the potential risk it will pose, the redhead telepath called out through her mind.
"Professor! We have a situation!"
Meanwhile, Danny kept searching before he sees Bayville Mall with hundreds of people scrambling and screaming, trying to get away from whatever was causing the trouble.
"Looks like I found it."
Danny swoops in turning intangible before phasing into the building. He sees an electronics store with the appliances and other merchandise going haywire...with a familiar obnoxious, ghostly voice bellowing
"So much tech in this store! I don't know where to start!"
Danny was worried, now knowing that Technus is here.
"Okay, maybe I should've had Sam and Tucker come with me."
As Technus assembled armor with various electronics and appliances, he sees his foe in an instant while his robotic armor finally finished.
"I see you're here in this new town too, Danny Phantom!" Technus bellowed.
"Couldn't stay in the Ghost Zone, can you?" Danny asks in annoyance and ready to fight.
"I, TECHNUS, WILL FINALLY BE YOUR DOWNFALL, DANNY PHANTOM! AND WITHOUT YOUR FRIENDS AROUND, IT'LL BE ALL TOO EASY!"
Technus attacked Danny with an arsenal of onboard weapons while the ghost boy dodged the assault with his best effort. However, his opponent wasn't letting up. Eventually, Technus managed to get in a lucky shot, knocking down Danny to the ground floor of the mall.
Looking up as he rose to his feet, Danny sees his opponent jumping from the second floor and landed several feet away from him.
"I, TECHNUS, HAVE FINALLY WON!"
Danny thought for sure he was finished as Technus closed in, summoning a new onboard weapon and took aim. However, a red energy beam destroyed the weapon with a single blast. The impact also caused the ghost in robot armor to stumble backwards a few inches.
"How about you two cool off and settle things in a civilized manner?!"
Danny recognized that voice. Glancing back, he sees Scott and the other teens he met at the Gut Bomb, wearing uniforms of some kind. There was also an adult man who was a bit hairy and had a mean look that said "don't mess with me", with them. His uniform was mainly orange and black, like something out of a comic book.
The ghost boy noticed a few other things as well; Scott was wearing a visor of some kind and the blue monkey with a spaded tail and three fingers had Kurt's face.
Technus saw his assailant and bellowed
"THIS DOES NOT CONCERN HUMANS LIKE YOURSELVES!"
As more onboard weapons pop out of various hatches of his armor, Scott barked to the others
"Spread out!"
As Technus started firing while the X-Men spread out to disperse the ghost's firings, Wolverine was the first to attack. Extending his adamantium claws with a primal growl, he charged from behind, jumped on to the robot armor, and sliced through the laser turrets as if they were butter.
While Technus looked to see his cannons destroyed, Wolverine jumped off as Nightcrawler teleported himself and Shadowcat to get behind Technus before the girl phased through the legs, causing the servos and circuitry to pop and spark as the ghost lost control. Spyke fired some bone projectiles to destroy even more cannons that were onboard, despite that they were replaced with more.
"Man! How many weapons does this guy have?!"
While Spyke dodged incoming laser fire, one of them was aiming at Cyclops while Jean shielded herself with her telekinetic powers. She gasped in fear, worried that he was going to get hit. Suddenly, Danny turned himself and Cyclops intangible, causing the lasers to pass through them harmlessly. Once they turned tangible, Cyclops looked at Danny.
"Thanks."
"Yeah." Danny replied wirh a nod.
"Mind telling me what's going on?" Cyclops asked.
"No time to explain." Danny replied quickly, "But if you and your friends could distract him, I can get this guy easily."
Cyclops nodded while Danny turned intangible once more and sank into the floor.
"Guys, give him some cover!"
The X-Men were confused at first, but complied. They distracted Technus, despite how difficult it was. Whille Danny turned tangible, he got the Fenton Thermos ready as well as felt a bare hand touching the back of his neck. After being readied up, he shouts to get the attention of his opponent.
"Hey! Technus!"
Technus turned around completely to face Danny. It was what the ghost boy wanted as he fired a ghost ray directly to the chest. The robotic armor started shorting out. Piece by piece, the robotic body fell apart quickly as Technus lost control.
Eventually, the X-Men got a good look at the green skinned ghost with a mullet of white hair, black sunglasses, and donned a black lab coat, boots, and a silver cape, who looked in shock
"THIS CAN'T BE...!"
Then, they all heard Danny's voice as Technus looked to where he was while the X-Men followed suit.
"Game over, Technus!"
The ghost boy fired the thermos as the energy beam caught and began sucking in the other ghost while it bellowed.
"NOOOOOOOO!"
After screwing the cap, Danny turns around to see Rogue holding up her bare hand while staring at him with wide eyes as she held her other glove in her left hand that remained covered with a glove.
"Um, I don't know why you're staring at me like that, but I need to get back home." Danny said with a raised eyebrow.
"Not so fast, kid!" came the gruff voice of Wolverine.
Danny turns around to see Wolverine retracting his claws as he approached.
"You got some explaining to do." Wolverine said with his arms crossed. "Starting with who that guy was, what he did, and why you two were fighting?"
"As much as I love to stay and chat, but I really need to send this guy back to where he came from." Danny said while backing away slowly.
Instantly, while turning intangible, Danny immediately flew away in haste as the X-Men remained in their spot.
"Jean? Can you locate him?" Cyclops asked.
Jean tried to reach out, but she felt nothing from him.
"No. I can't sense him at all." Jean said with a worried tone. "It's like he's not even here."
"Freaky..." Evan couldn't help but comment.
"I could see him as all of you could." Logan said. "But his scent is weird; he smelled like a human, but it's mixed with death."
Kitty shuddered as did Kurt when Logan said that. However, Scott finally noticed Rogue's stunned look as he asked her
"Rogue? What's wrong?"
The mutant goth girl got out of her stunned state as she said with a shocked tone
"Ah don't know how, but Ah was able to touch him and didn't get anythang."
All of the X-Men looked at her with a shocked look. However, they all heard police sirens approaching fast.
"We better get going." Logan said.
In approximately 30 minutes, Danny finally made it home, after dodging a news chopper that tried to follow him. After transforming, he enters the house to see his parents and sister watching the news in the living room.
In other news, there was a disturbance at Bayville Mall, caused by...as incredible as it sounds, ghosts. News choppers were able to follow a ghost dressed in black and white before he suddenly vanished. Police are still looking into the disturbance at the mall. More soon.
"Uh-oh!" Danny thought in worry.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!" Jack bellowed. "That Phantom punk followed us here!"
"Calm down, Jack." Maddie assured. "We'll get him one day."
Jazz silently casts a worried look towards Danny whom she saw was also worried.
However, the Fentons were not the only ones who looked at the news footage.
In her own room, Paulina rather squealed in delight when she saw a footage of Danny Phantom on the news.
"My ghost boy is here!" she says with excitement. "He must wanted to be near me."
Valerie had a different reaction. While she was filling out a job application to work part-time at the Gut Bomb, she too saw the news as she squeezed her pen, nearly crushing it in anger.
"That ghost kid is here?! He better stay away from me and my dad if he knows what's good for him."
At the Xavier Institute, Professor Xavier was being filled in the X-Men's recent encounter. Apparently, he too saw the news and feared the worst possible outcome. Ororo was present as well when she was hearing the details.
"Are you so certain?"
"I don't what to make of it, Chuck." Logan began. "That kid had a strong scent of death and after he sucked in that ghost, whatever it was, inside a tube, he just bolted before we can get any answers."
"It was so wierd, professor." Kitty adds. "Like, that other ghost made robot armor out appliances and that kid knew exactly where to hit it."
"It's true." Kurt says to verify Kitty's claim.
"What's worse is that I couldn't sense him at all." Jean said with a worried tone.
Professor Xavier pondered for a bit before he said in response.
"He must've used a shield to protect his mind."
"Professor, you would feel it if he did." Jean said. "With this kid, there was nothing. We all could see him clearly, but it was like we were seeing an astral projection or something similar to it."
Again, Professor Xavier was in thought, trying to make of Jean's description.
"There's something else you should know, Professor." Scott spoke up, getting the man's attention. "While that kid sucked in that ghost or whatever it was, into that device, which looked like a hi-tech thermos, Rogue touched the back of his neck and didn't drain anything from him."
Now Xavier was shocked as he asked Rogue
"Is that true?"
"Ya, Professah, it's true." Rogue replied with a nod.
"Well, you all did your best." Xavier said to them. "Our only choice is to wait and see if he makes another appearance."
"And hope he doesn't bolt like last time." Evan mutters.
"I hear that." Kurt comments.
When the teens left the office, Ororo asked when she noticed Professor Xavier in thought
"What is it, Charles?"
"I believe we are dealing with someone new." Xavier said. "However, Jean's description fits the reason as to why the Cerebro didn't detect when he was using his powers openly."
"You mean the Cerebro didn't find him, Charles?"
Logan asks.
"No, Logan." Xavier said with a worried tone. "That's what concerns me."
Even Ororo had a worried look, hearing what the Professor had just said.
"Then we should find him as soon as possible." she said.
"Yes. We cannot allow him to expose us all." Xavier said gravely. "The world isn't ready to know the existence of mutants yet, and he could potentially put us all at serious risk."
Logan was in thought for a while before Ororo noticed him as did Xavier.
"What is it, Logan?" Ororo asks in curiosity.
"As crazy as it sounds, but from what I know, that kid only attacks these...ghosts or whatever they are." Logan points out. "I'm thinking that if another one shows up..."
"He'll be there to retrieve it." Xavier finished.
"Got it in one." Logan comments. "And it's a good thing that kid didn't pick a fight with us after he got it."
"We'll just have to wait and see, old friend." Xavier said.
Meanwhile, in the hallways outside of Xavier's office, the teens were heading to their rooms as Scott noticed Rogue looking like she was troubled.
"What is it?"
"Call meh crazy, but don't ya'll get that naggin' feelin' that kid looked familiar somehow?" Rogue asks.
The others were in thought before Scott spoke up first.
"Come to think of it, he did look familiar, like we met him before."
"I feel the same way." Jean comments in agreement.
"On the same boat as you guys." Evan said.
"Me too." Kurt adds.
"Like, ditto." Kitty said.
"Hopefully, we'll find this kid again." Scott said. "And see what he really is."
The other X-Mem nodded in agreement.
In their point of view, whoever this new kid, that they've encountered, was, they had to figure out if he's a mutant or something else.
Well, looks like the race is on for the X-Men to find Danny. Stay tuned for the next chapter where secrets will be revealed and a second encounter will occur.
A/N: This story takes place after the episode, "Reality Trip" of Danny Phantom and before the episode "Growing Pains" of X-Men: Evolution.
