The Presidential Library

It hardly seems like he's been out of the office for 5 years. 2023 is here and the library is real. Nothing about Fitz's life seems real. It hardly seems like he's been living the life he longed to live for so long, finally. Olivia, the love of his life, is his life. They are living the most amazing life between Vermont and DC. The Grant Foundation is doing remarkably well. Fitz is CEO with Olivia by his side as COO. She was tired of the problems of DC. She couldn't believe she didn't have the itch to go back to managing other's crisis. She didn't need that life anymore and she didn't want it. She had everything she needed right here. Fitz and Marcus have been waiting for this for a long time. Tomorrow the Fitzgerald Thomas Grant, III Presidential Library will open. Everyone who is anyone in politics is expected to attend, even his ex-wife who is successful in her second term.

"Livvie why is this a whole weekend affair?" he asks as he fixes his tie in the mirror. He's getting frustrated. "Damn tie," he utters.

"It's a weekend affair because the 44th President of the United States, Fitzgerald Grant, III is opening his library. It's a big fucking deal," she winks as she appears in the mirror behind him. He laughs at her pouty.

"I am a big fucking deal, aren't I?" he asks as he looks at her glowing face that's staring back at him.

She watches him fight with his tie. She turns him to him to her, "You tied your ties for decades without me and now you can't even get through the first phase."

"I have you now. I gave up many independent things once I got you. Just an excuse to have you close to me," he says pulling her by the waist into his body.

She playfully rolls her eyes at him as she ties the tie effortlessly, "Mr. Independent, you are all done."

He stands back. The man is a fine wine, he gets better with age. He as sexy as ever. If they didn't have 200 people descending upon their home, she would jump him right there. "How do I look?"

Without hesitation Olivia answers, "Edible."

He tilts his head, bringing his lips down to hers, "Did you say edible?"

She pulls him by the tie, she just perfectly tied closer to her, "I sure did. So, what are you going to do about it."

"What do you say we say our hellos and I give my speech; we sneak back here we have our own little wine tasting party and then we go back." Liv doesn't respond quickly. It makes him laugh heartily. "I take it you aren't opposed to this wonderful idea."

"Fitz, we have to act like responsible adults. I promise tonight I am all yours and you are all mine, but these people gave a lot of money to see this library happen. We owe them our time, even for a few hours."

He hates it when she's right and being the mature one, "You are right. I can't believe Hollis Doyle gave us $1 million dollars."

Liv drops her hair walking to the mirror to check her makeup and hair, "He owed us that much."

"I agree," he answers grabbing her waist and kissing her neck. "You look beautiful. You are going to be the talk of the party tonight.

"When are we going to tell our friends, our secret?"

"I have an idea on that. I am going to surprise even you with it," he shakes his head.

"Can you give me a hint?"

"No Ms. Pope! No way! No how!"

"Whatever!" she says as she starts to leave their expansive closet.

He catches her, "I'm coming."

The party is under way. The ribbon cutting is tomorrow. He wanted it to be short and sweet and focused on the inside of the building. He will give a short speech and let everyone see the beauty that took 5 years to create in his honor. For now, shmoozing with some people that helped make it possible, has to be done.

Olivia is talking to the first female black Senator from North Carolina. She had a little help in making it possible. She only consulted but they had the best consultant. Fitz is working the room like only he can. She watches each movement out of the corner of her with such pride. He's finally the man he always wanted to be. Not to mention he's all hers now.

She directs her attention back to Senator Hutchins, "I apologize. I am so happy to see you here and I am so happy we got a win and your office donation to the foundation."

"I think what President Grant is doing for the Criminal Justice system is inspiring," she explains.

"He's very passionate about it. And he's always wanted the little guy, so to speak, to win."

"Well, I would like to do all I can to help," Senator Hutchins says.

"Thank you he will appreciate that."

"I want to say something, and I hope I am not stepping out of bounds, but I want to thank you, not for your consulting on the campaign but for being who you are." She starts as Olivia looks confused. "You and I both know how hard it is to be a black woman in anything, especially politics, but you were and are a uniquely special black woman and it makes us proud."

"Well, I don't know that I'm a role model I mean I haven't done everything right, as you all know but I wanted to make a difference and I hope to be known for that. Hopefully away from the scandals that's my legacy."

"You have a greater legacy than you think you do Ms. Pope. Life takes us in many directions. Yours is going to cement your place in history."

Olivia can't help but become emotional, "Thank you for saying that."

"I only said the truth," Senator Hutchins smiles.

Fitz has made his way over to the two of them. He gently brings his arms around her waist, "Senator Hutchins, thank you for coming." Liv looks up at him with a gentle smile.

"Thank you for the invitation, President Grant. I was just telling Ms. Pope that Washington wouldn't be Washington without her," she smiles.

Fitz looks down at Olivia with so much love in his eyes that it overwhelms her, even the Senator watching this play out, "I keep telling her that nothing makes sense without her in it. I'll say that until the day I die." Liv shakes her head in disbelief. Why is this man so perfect?

Liv hits his chest, "Incorrigible."

Senator Hutchins, deciding to leave them in the moment, she clears her throat, "I know you probably don't hear this often but I'm glad you two made it to the other side. People whisper but love is true." Senator Hutchins finishes. "I will leave you two to greet your guests. Again, thank you for the invite. I can't wait to see the library tomorrow."

They both smile as he pulls her forehead down and kisses it softly. They start walking hand in hand. Olivia shakes his hand, "Hey Grant! Do you believe our love is true?"

Fitz looks around, stopping mid-step, "I wish I could place you on that wall and show you just how true it is."

Liv's cheeks all flushed, "Fitz."

He gives her that cheeky grin. "Our love is more than true. It's been painful. It's been difficult. At times it's been devastating. But it, you, changed my life. And that makes it extraordinary."

She can't help but let her feelings show. He gently and discreetly wipes her tears. "I got what I wanted."

He turns her a little, takes a grab at her butt, again discretely, "I definitely got what I wanted."

She chuckles, "Come on, horny old man."

They go and continue to greet their guests.

It's morning and they are getting dressed. Today is the big day. The day that has been 5 years in the making. The official mark and monument to Fitz's presidency and legacy. He's looking all over for his beautiful wife. He is freshly out of the shower, with a towel hanging very low on his waist. He throws the towel around his neck.

"Livvie," he says.

"I'm in the closet," she says.

He walks in, following her voice, "There you are. You dressed already."

"Well, you know I had to get a head start plus I've changed my outfit 3 times, which means I had to…" She shakes her head as she keeps looking at herself in the mirror as she holds s up two outfits. She decides that both are not the one.

He comes up behind her, stopping her, wrapping his arm around her. She tries to playfully push him away, "You are the most beautiful woman in the world, and you will be the most beautiful woman in that library. I don't care what you wear."

She makes her neck more available to him, "The media will care plus it's not just me and you know that."

"I know. Maybe take care of that first and that will help you decide," Fitz suggests. She likes that decision, and she turns to go out of the room until she looks down and notices he's naked with just a towel to adorn him. She lingers just long enough for him to take note. "Like something you see."

"I most certainly do," she bites her bottom lip.

"How much do you like it?" he asks as he walks over to her.

"Fitz, we don't have time."

"We most certainly have time. They can't open the library without the guest of honor," he cockily grins as he reaches down to place a gentle kiss on her lips. She moans in response.

She lets herself dissolve into the kiss until he backs her to the custom-made chaise lounge chair that's in their expansive closet. She's not sitting looking up at the man who stole her heart. She drops the towel that is covering him, to be met by his already hard and ready member. He thinks she's going to spread herself wide for him but instead she gives him a hungry look as she licks her lip and grabs his ass.

"Livvie." She doesn't say anything, she licks her lips again, as she begins to massage his dick softly. He throws his head back. "Are you sure? Our little package might interrupt any minute…" He asks. God only knows why he asked. He knows that look. He knows when she's about to make him beg like a bitch baby and nearly lose his mind.

"Then we better be quick cause I am positive I want to," she answers as she takes him in her mouth and least out a moan and throws his head back. She begins lick up and down his shaft slowly and she licks each side and then under. She then assaults his tip with circles of the tip of her tongue. She knows his tip is his downfall. She could get him to do anything.

"Damn…. Shit….," he utters with a ragged breath.

She takes him all the way in, hitting the back of her throat as she sucks him hard. Her eyes water, but it's the best kind of tears. She's moaning and damn if she doesn't need to get off now. She sucks and licks over and over, feeling him build in her mouth. She twists as she sucks which is killing Fitz in the best way.

"Right there baby…. Fuck…. right there."

He knows what he needs to do for both of them, as if she knows he knows. She opens her legs wide as the little slip she has on just hikes up. She is now just sucking his tip while his hands quickly go inside of her. She grinds his hand as he knows he's soon to come. They are both pleasing each other spectacularly, both moaning in satisfaction. He explodes in her mouth as she explodes on his fingers. She releases him as he removes his hand, brings his fingers up to his lips to suck to clean.

"You are amazing," he says out of breath.

"And you are sexy as hell," she smiles.

"That might be the best BJ, you've given me," he announces.

"Even better than…."

"Well that one was special. This one was right up there tho," He winks.

"I am pretty good at it," she says proudly.

"Get on your knees on the chair and turn around," he says. His eyes are dark, lustful, and serious.

"What?" She says confused.

"Get on your knees on the chair and turn around," he repeats again.

"What are we doing?" She asks. She realizes he's not going to answer because his eyes are wild with hunger. She does as she is told as he gets behind her on his knees. He reaches in front her, brings his fingers to her still wet center.

"I am doing what I am good at," he whispers in her ear as she sucks her neck and before she realizes what is about to happen, he slips inside her. Holding her ass to him.

"Fitz," she cries as he begins to pump her. One hand is holding her in front as the other is gripping the long chest drawer they had built. He begins to pump her softly. She drops her head back to his shoulder. "Fitz," she cries again.

He licks her ear, "I love you baby."

She's biting her lip so she could draw blood. He was good at sex, in fact he was a master, and it was never the same. He is pumping her hard and soft all the same time as she feels like she's going to lose her mind.

She tries to speak, "I…. love…. Shit…Ugh…Harder…Harder..More.."

And he gives her exactly what she's asking for, more. There are cries and sobs of pleasure from both. They've never been happier for the soundproof walls. Because if not, the secret service would come in thinking one of them was dying.

She drops her upper body down on the chair. Her face is into the fabric. Her ass in now in the air so he can go deeper which makes her scream his name. "You feel so good baby," Fitz says pantingly as he's giving her everything he has.

"Ahhhhh….," she screeches as she is sure she is tearing the fabric of the chair with her grip. "I'm going to…I can't hold…." She's trying to talk.

He licks her back as he keeps pumping, "Let go baby," he whispers.

And she does, she lets go spectacularly and he's soon to follow, spilling inside her. He flips her over, and just enters her swiftly. He thrust into her going again, immediately. It's messy and sticky but it's them. It's their passion. It's their love. And she doesn't know how they've climaxed three times in such a short period of time, but they do. They are both out of breath. He's laying between her legs. She had one leg dangling off the chair and the other kneeled and pressed on the chair.

She's combing her hands through his hair. "That was amazing."

He kisses her bare stomach, "That was more than amazing."

"I can't believe I let you seduce me," she laments.

"I seduced you. If I remember correctly, you started this by giving me the best head ever," he reminds her, looking up at her.

"Well, you shouldn't have been wet with a towel and commando. How did you expect me to be a good girl. Plus, this is a special day for you. A very big day and I wanted to start it off right."

"You definitely did that." He kisses her stomach again, "We could go again. I mean you haven't had my superpower yet."

"As much as I would love that. We really have to get dressed and I am so embarrassed. We are going to have to have this chair cleaned. How will I explain this?"

"You don't. They need to just do their jobs," Fitz says as he lifts off of her.

The sudden breeze envelops when his warm body moves. She looks down and shakes her head. "We need to shower quickly."

"Yes, let's go woman," he says as turns to go into the bathroom to start them a shower. She watches his perfect tight ass leave. She can hear the water turn on, "Come on Livvie," Fitz says.

"I'm coming," she says as she touches the button. "Is she...?"

"Just now ma'am"

"I'll be right there," Liv says as she darts to take a shower with her man and then honor him.

They are sitting in their SUV. It's a little bit of a drive to the library. Fitz is holding their 4-year-old daughter on his lap. Ms. Francesca Grace Grant was born on January 1, 2020. She made her arrival right before the pandemic went into full effect. Liv and Fitz had a New Year's party get together at their house. They paid for everyone to come out. Little Frankie wasn't due for another two weeks, but she decided to ring in the New Year too.

"Daddy, where are we going?" The beautiful combination of Fitz and Olivia asks. She couldn't be more beautiful if they'd asked. She's got long beautiful curly dark hair. She has her mother's eyes and father's smile. Her skin is creamy with a touch of brown. Fitz thought he was obsessed with Olivia before they made a baby together. After Francesca he was certain he couldn't love her more and he would die for them. Not that he didn't already feel that way.

Liv is watching her two hearts have the most adorable conversation. She finally figured out their matching colors. She can admit, she's making Frankie a little fashionista too. She bought both of them 4 outfits and finally decided on the rose colors. She never thought she would be a mother, and a good one at that. But there she was with a beautiful daughter with the man she thought she could never have a future with. And now their life is damn near perfect.

"We are going to daddy's library opening," Fitz answers as he drops kiss to her head.

She's smart as a whip. And already at 4 drop dread gorgeous, "You have your own library."

"Honey, remember I said daddy was the President," Liv says.

"Yeah," Frankie says with her inquisitive head tilt.

"And Presidents get important buildings named after them or airports. Sometimes they get both," Liv explains to her princess.

"Will it have my name on it? I have daddy's name," she asks.

"It will have your last name on it because our last name is Grant," Fitz smiles as touches her nose with his fingertip.

"Is it a big building daddy?" She asks.

"It sure is. It's so everyone could see what I did as a president," he says with pride.

"Were you good president Daddy?" She never misses a beat and that never ceases to amaze them.

Fitz and Liv can't help but laugh, "I sure hope so," Fitz answers.

"And you are going to see your brother and sister. And you will see Aunt Abby, Aunt Quinn, Uncle Huck and Uncle Marcus and hundreds of other people who want to see daddy's building," Liv says.

"And daddy has a surprise in there for mommy," Fitz says.

"A surprise for mommy," she says as her eyes light up.

"A very special surprise from daddy to mommy," he looks over at Liv. He mouths, I love you.

"What have you done?" Olivia asks him.

"You'll see," he winks.

"Daddy," Frankie looks up at him.

"Yes sweetheart."

"Will there be ice cream there?"

This makes Olivia and Fitz laugh. "Anything you want princess?" Frankie snuggles herself into Fitz's chest.

He grabs Liv's hand, looking over their daughter's head as he plants a kiss, "The best thing we ever did."

Liv can't help but smile. "I couldn't agree more. I am pretty sure we did it again this morning."

Fitz's eyes grow wide, "I would love it, but I thought you."

"We said I would, but I never bothered to," Liv shrugs.

"What if you do? Is that what you want?"

"Mr. President, I love my life with you. I love the life we live, and Olivia Pope never thought she'd see the day when sleepless nights, bottles, dirty diapers and runny noses would be the kind of life challenge I want but it is. And that's because of you. I love you."

He grabs her hand and kisses the knuckles, "I love you too."

Frankie chimes in, "I love you too Daddy."

"What about Mommy? Do you love Mommy too?" Fitz asks.

Frankie looks over at Olivia with her little doe eyes. For Olivia, it's like looking in the mirror, "Of course I love you too mommy," Frankie says cutely.

Liv and Fitz throw their heads back in laughter.

They arrive to everyone waiting for them. Mellie has already made her arrival with her security detail and Karen and Teddy in tow. Karen graduated from Harvard in Pre-Law and is now furthering her studies. She never wanted to be her parents, she said but then she found that she loved law but her kind of law. She's studying Environmental Law and loves every moment. Teddy is thriving in grade school. Mellie and Fitz's relationship became the divorced relationship goal relationship. More often than none he's consulted with her issues with her administration. They are truly friends now and Olivia couldn't be happier for the children's sake.

Olivia and Fitz get out of the car to cheers and whistles. Fitz is forever the gentlemen. He knows the press is snapping every single thing that happens. The SSA agents walk around with him as he opens the door for Olivia. He first lifts Francesca out. As if she knows exactly what to do, she waves for the cameras and flashes that draws little awe from the crowd. The nanny knows her instructions and immediately comes to Frankie's side. Fitz then helps Olivia out, placing a kiss on her lips. They walk down the red-carpet hand in hand as Francesca keeps waving. They make it to the front row. Mellie is sitting at her appointed seat. The OPA team and everyone else is seated. Olivia tuns to see the one person she didn't think she would see, her father. Francesca runs straight to him, climbing in his lap. She believes that Frankie turned his life around.

Fitz walks over, giving Mellie and Karen a kiss. "Thank you for coming Mellie! You deserve this day too." Mellie is surprised by his words.

"Thank you for saying that" Mellie says. She smiles, "Congratulations Fitz. You earned it. You really did," Mellie responds. Marcus is sitting right at the end. He and Mellie are still going strong.

Karen stands to hug her dad, "This is great dad. I am proud of you."

"I am proud of you too honey," Fitz says. He looks over to Teddy, "You okay Bud."

"Dad, this tie is tight?"

Fitz reaches down, "As soon as we cut the ribbon, you can take it off but don't tell Mom I said it."

"Fitz," Mellie says.

Fitz then extends his hand to Marcus, "We made it."

"Yes sir, we did."

"Let's do this. I think I am more anxious for Liv. She has no idea about the surprise," Fitz says. He's almost shaking.

"She is going to love it. "Don't worry about it," Marcus assures him.

"I sure hope so," Fitz nods.

"Are you ready to get started?"

"I think so," Fitz says as he turns to go to his seat. Marcus fixes his tie and suit and takes his folder with him to the podium.

Liv looks over at Eli who is having a totally too smart conversation with her 4-year-old. Somehow, she understands it Tho. "Thank you for coming Dad. I really appreciate it."

"If you would have told me a decade ago, I would be sitting here, helping to honor a man by all standards I should," He looks down at Francesca. He decides to curb his words, "Not mingle with. I would have told you that is impossible."

"Love has a way of changing your outlook dad. I learned that on my own because of Fitz," Liv answers.

Eli looks down at Francesca, "It definitely changed my outlook."

"Grandpa, do you have my favorite candy?"

Eli gives that only Eli smile, "Of course. It's in my pocket waiting for you." As soon as he tells her, she goes fishing, as she always does.

He looks at Liv, "It definitely changed mine. And it's a Grant." Liv lets out a hearty laugh.

Abby, Quinn, Huck, and Charlie are sitting directly behind Fitz, Olivia and Eli. Abby reaches over to Liv's ear, "Did you write his speech?"

Fitz shakes his head, "Gabby, I wrote my own speech." Everyone chuckles.

Marcus clears his throat to speak. "Hello everyone! It's so great to see so many familiar faces and people who became affiliated with the Grand Foundation in recent years. President Grant is a man of great mystique. I noticed that in his Presidency, on the outside looking in but I got to really experience it when I started working for him. He's smart. He's quiet. He's a gentle giant but a mighty hero too. We were taking a run when I showed him this spot of land. I told him what the vision was. That this would be the Fitzgerald Thomas Grant, III Library. He didn't question what I saw, just as I didn't understand what drew him to Vermont." Liv smiles as Fitz grabs her hand, squeezing it. "But I later found out that Vermont is a special place to him and his family and the love of his life." Fitz kisses Olivia's head.

"So, when our visions came together for this Library I thought about the visual and he thought about the content. Together, I think we came up with a building that truly represents President Grant's greatest accomplishments. And he even wanted those moments well he didn't reach the goal as Commander Chief as a way to remember he too is human. We all know his Presidency was filled with a lot of ups and downs. Filed with a lot of scandals but it was also filled with a lot of greatness that later birth into better greatness, such as our first Female President," Marcus says as he smiles at Mellie.

"I asked President Grant what he wanted this Library to be, besides a name holder and presidential monument. And his answer shocked me," Marcus explains. He looks over at Fitz. "His answer was one of the most simple, honest, and real statements I've heard. He said he wanted this Library to be a place where people learned about a privileged man who became President but proved you can be privileged and be passionate about things that matter. Passionate about the things that come easy to some but hard for others and making the world a place where privilege is not just for those with means but for those with dreams to be what seems impossible." Marcus stops and takes a chuckle, "In short, he wants to fight for the little man and let the little man know he's not alone." Everyone laughs. "So, without further delay, I present to you the man of this hour, "President Fitzgerald Grant, III."

Everyone starts to clap as Fitz stands. He kisses Olivia's hand and walks over and kiss Francesca and shakes Eli's hand. He walks up to the podium, bringing his folder with him. Everything is standing. It's a thunderous applause. Fitz takes it in looking out at the special invited guests. It's a humbling and exhilarating moment. He then motions for everyone to sit down. They do as he takes another mental note of the room, realizing the gravity of this moment.

He takes a moment, "I guess I don't know what to say except thank you." This makes everyone clap again. He clears his throat. He's more emotional than he thought he would be. Liv notices as she wants to walk up there but she lets him gather himself. "I don't where to start but I know where I must start." He looks in Olivia's direction and then over to his youngest daughter and then to Teddy and Karen.

"I must start by saying thank you to my wife, Olivia," he starts. This brings gasps from the crowd. "A year ago, we said our I do's and she became my wife." He can see the shocked stares even from Mellie.

Abby can't help but react, "Liv..."

"You have some explaining to do," Quinn whispers.

"She's my partner in life. She's my partner in business. She's my partner in love. She's my best friend. I owe a great deal of my success to her. She's championed me when I couldn't even champion myself. She gave me the courage I sometimes lost in myself when I needed the courage most. I asked her in the beginning if she thought I'd be a good president," he looks at her, tears forming in his eyes. "She didn't hesitate to say, "You'll make a great president." Fitz takes a breath, "She didn't think I'd be good. She thought I'd be great. I love you Livvie, for everything you've given me. It was rocky. It was challenging but we made it. I couldn't imagine walking through this phase of my life without you. This is just as much your success as it is mine. I am prouder of being your husband and father to our daughter, more than you can imagine." Liv can't help but let the tears fall. Eli just takes it all in.

"You helped cement my place in history and yours and I can't wait for you to see it," he alludes. He then looks over to Mellie. "President Grant," he addresses her. It brings about a laugh from everyone. "Our journey started when we were young law students with a dream. You helped me on my training wheels in this life called Politics. We built a family together and a political empire. Everyone knows our history, rocky as it was, we made mistakes, but we made a lot of good too. I may have started to run because that is what the son of Big Gerry was supposed to do but I sustained because I had strong women in my corner like you. Life takes you in many directions and even though we did, one thing will always remain, our connection and our children. Teddy and Karen, mom and dad put you through a lot of things, we know. But we love you. I hope as a dad, even with my mistake, even with running the world, you know how much I love you. Even now, with your mother running the world. We love you."

"To my dad, he had dreams for me that I fulfilled. I'd like to think he would have been proud. Even though we didn't see eye to eye, he championed me to make the Grant name proud. I'd like to think I did," He finishes. "To those here that served in both my terms, you held me up and made me look good. Especially you, Abby Whelan. You challenged me at times that I didn't know I needed a new perspective, and you made me see it. "And Cyrus Beene, he's not here to see this final salute to my presidency come to life. But a lot of the blood, sweat, and tears that this pregnancy shed was cleaned up by him. He was committed to me and my presidency for many years. He is one of those arms that held me screaming in my ear. He demanded I be great, and he put his stamp on it."

"And lastly, to you Marcus," He looks in Marcus' direction. "You understood me when I didn't know I did. You literally punched me in the face with truth, when I needed it." Everyone's face looks surprised. "I didn't fire you that day because I needed it. You were right. You were honest and that's what a real friend does. They make you see the truth that you don't want to see. Most of the time they hope you learn from it, and I did. Because of that you and I have created something special with the Grant Foundation and with this beautiful library."

"When you walk through this building and look at these walls. I hope you see more than my history. I hope you see the country's history through my eyes. I tried to be the best President I could be. I didn't always hit the mark, but I always aimed to. Thank you for supporting me and thank you keeping a seat on my journey through life." He ends and listens to the applause as everyone stands up to give him a long ovation again. He turns and shakes Marcus' hand again. He quickly steps down to bring a kiss over to Olivia and he reaches for Francesca.

Fitz looks at Eli, who he always knew as Command and Rowan, and offers a handshake. "I told you I would honor your daughter. I hope you like what I did. We will never be bosom buddies but do share something very special," Fitz says looking at his beautiful daughter in his arms and then over to Olivia who's being bombarded by Abby and Quinn.

"You take care of them and that's all I'll ever care about," Eli answers.

"You don't ever have to worry about that. I always will," Fitz answers.

Abby and Quinn have Olivia by both arms. She tries to deflect. "We are about to cut the ribbon."

"You got married and didn't tell us," Quinn says.

"We didn't want to make a fuss," Olivia answers.

"Olivia Pope," Abby clears her throat, "Grant, gets married to one of the most eligible rich men in the world, who happened to be President and you didn't want to make a fuss."

"Liv everyone knew you were together. I mean you had a baby. We wanted to be there," Quinn says.

"That's just it! Mellie was entering her second term. We didn't want to get in the way of that and we just wanted something simple. And it was simple and beautiful."

"And you hid wedding pictures from us for a year," Abby says.

"Yes, you will see them when you all come to the house tonight. We have the housekeepers putting them up."

"Did you know he was going to tell everyone today?" Quinn asks.

"I had an idea," Liv smiles.

Abby looks at her emotionally, "I am sad I wasn't there, but I know you. You didn't want me to be sad about David. But I'm happy for you."

"No, I didn't want you to be sad about David," Liv admits.

"He would have been happy that he finally made you an honest woman," Abby smiles.

Quinn adds, "I am happy for you too. We all deserve some happiness and you finally got yours."

Marcus gets on the podium to announce it's time to cut the ribbon. Olivia goes to Fitz side. The press swarms for this photo op. Fitz, Olivia, and Marcus hold the scissors together and cut the ribbon to more cheers and applause. Everyone starts walking in to see the library.

Mellie goes to Oliva, "Congratulations Liv."

Olivia smiles, "Congratulations to you too. I didn't do that much," Liv says.

"You helped us get to the house on the hill and stay there. Fitz was right, it's certainly been a rocky road, but dreams were fulfilled."

"I think so too," Liv smiles. "And no. I'm not coming back."

"Damn, I thought I would try again. I hate Fitz for taking you," Mellie chuckles.

Before she can speak, Fitz says, "And you can't have her back."

Mellie playfully rolls her eyes and gets serious, "Thank you for what you said Fitz. It meant a lot to me. We have unique a history and I don't think I fully appreciated it all until I walked in your shoes."

"We finally got it right," He answers. "But I have to steal her for a few minutes."

"Fine," Mellie says as Liv gives him a look.

"What's going on?" Liv asks.

"Come with me," he says as he starts pulling her away.

"What about my baby?" Liv says, turning to find Francesca in the crowd.

"She is with her favorite person, your dad and being spoiled by Abby and Quinn. She's fine."

"Fitz we are not having sex here," Liv gives him a playful scolding eye.

"As much I would love to christen this place that is not what we are doing." The SSA agent ushers them up to the elevator where they go to the second floor of the library. They arrive at a door that has a special bow covering it. Another SSA is stationed at the door.

"Fitz what is this?"

"This is my gift to you," Fitz says as he removes the beautiful red and white bow. He turns on the light and Liv is immediately shocked by the first thing she sees.

"Fitz," she utters softly. As she walks further into the room. She's looking at herself on the walls and Fitz. It's their journey. He wraps his arms around her waist softly. "I can't believe it," she says.

He kisses her neck and then walks to the wall that faces them, Director of Communications, Olivia Carolyn Pope.

"Marcus asked me what your space would be like. And I am ashamed to say, I said I would name you and what you did and call me to the mat. He called me out for our history and how doing that would leave so much unsaid but said about you that would be unfair to you." She's looking at him a little disappointed. "But I couldn't tell him, I was mad. I wanted you to come with me. Come here to Vermont so we could finally be happy, and you chose."

"Power," she answers. Fitz shakes his head. "But you told me my place, at the time, was in the White House."

"And I hated myself. And I was mad with you for not defying me."

"I was scared Fitz. I was scared of happiness."

Fitz looks at her surprised, "Why?"

"Because you and I finally had a chance to be happy and I just couldn't believe it was real. And if it was real, something would ruin it. And I know I almost did."

"You didn't ruin anything," Fitz brings his finger around the curve of her face. He gently turns her around.

"You see that photo right there. It is one of my favorites," he says. It is a photo of them walking and strategizing.

"Mine too," she smiles.

"This was your genius about to make me president," he explains. He grabs her hand as they walk together. "And this picture."

"I can't believe someone snapped that," she blushes.

"I am glad someone did. I love the look on your face," he smiles.

"I had just told Abby on the phone, that you had something I could work with. I was watching to work that gathering and I knew you were magic, and I knew…." She looks away.

"You knew what," Fitz asks.

"That I was ridiculously attracted to you already," she admits.

"We were meant to be," Fitz says as he keeps walking her past the walls.

"I can't believe you did all this," Liv says.

"I wanted it done right. You deserve that," Fitz explains.

Liv stops at one photo. "Where did this come from?"

"I don't know who got this photo but when I saw it. I knew it had to be here. This is us Livvie," he says as he is staring at the photo as he's did so many times when they found it.

Olivia runs her hand across the photo. It's from the night he crushed the debate. It is a photo of them alone. They aren't touching but they are staring into each other's eyes. Olivia looks so proud, and Fitz is looking into her eyes with so much intensity. "I knew you were talking to me, and you took my breath away. You stood on that stage that you were in love with me. They thought it was Mellie, but I knew it wasn't and you spoke your heart and I couldn't believe it."

"You are the reason I won that debate because I did speak from my heart because I spoke about you," Fitz smiles. Olivia is speechless at how their professional relationship is highlighted with such taste, but you can still see the truth in the photos of them. She stops at the photo of them kissing before he enters Marine One. "This was one of the best days of my life."

Liv smiles, looking at him, "Why?"

"Because the world got to see the woman I love and how she loves me. And she wasn't afraid to show it," Fitz winks.

"Can I tell you a secret?" She asks.

"Always," he answers.

"I went to my office, and I cried, and I cried, and I couldn't stop crying," she admits. He looked shocked. "I didn't want you to leave, and I didn't want to stay. My heart was on that helicopter with you."

He reaches down and gives her a kiss, "We've put each other through so much because we love each other too much."

"Never too much," Liv laughs.

He walks her over to her, "This is for you," he points at the long paragraph on the wall that is encased in a large frame. He steps back so she can read. It's a handwritten letter from Fitz. He wanted it to be him, and he wanted it to be personal. There's a sketched photo of them from their wedding that sits beside it.

Liv stares at the words:

Olivia Pope is a gift that was given to me I the most unconventional way. I don't make light of our beginning, but I'll never regret our journey. I know people will always talk about our history. It's complicated. But we know the truth of it all. Olivia won my presidency and won my heart. Your importance to my administration should never be downgraded but heartily celebrated. You made me into a candidate that could be believed. You made me into a candidate that could be loved. And you made me into a candidate that America could trust to lead. The world has many names for you, some that might not be fair but never doubt who you are. There would have been no Grant Administration 4 times over without you. You are the woman that defined the greatness that I and those after me could show. Without you, my greatness would be remembered as mediocre. You are an administration of greatness, and the world was lucky to have you working on its behalf. I love you and thank you for making my life mean something when I need meaning the most.

Liv turns to him, trying to hold her tears. She's learned a lot about herself since being with Fitz uninterrupted. Being with Fitz brought so much calm and vulnerability to her that she would never let herself show. And after she had Frankie, she would just cry at will. "You made my life have meaning too Fitz."

He walks over to her, pulling her close to him. They are nose to nose and lip to lip, "That's what love is." He envelops her in a searing kiss.

Liv finally pulls away, "I really want to christen this room now."

He looks around and moves in closer, "I did build us a secret back room."

Liv looks at him shocked, "You didn't."

"No, I didn't but damn I wish I had."

She slaps his chest, "You are shameless."

Fitz takes another look around, "I wanted to share this with you first before everyone else got to see it."

"I want her to be proud of me. I want her to be proud of us," she says looking around with him. Her eyes landed on a family photo of her, Fitz, and Francesca after she was just born.

"She is. You don't ever have to worry about that," Fitz reassures her. "I guess we should go back to our guests and let them see the rest of this place.

"I am very proud of you Mister," she winks.

"How proud are you?"

"You will see later," she says as she leads him out. She stops, "I saw one change that needs to be made in here."

He looks at her confused, "What's that?"

"Olivia Carolyn Pope. Seems like something is missing there," she answers him coyly as she leaves him to ponder.

Everyone gathered at the house after for drinks and food. The atmosphere was exactly what Fit wanted. He wanted Family and Friends. Mellie let Karen and Teddy stay the night. She would send them tomorrow. Everyone has left and Liv is getting Frankie ready for bed. Teddy is playing with one of his games in his room. Fitz is having much needed bonding time with Karen.

"Thanks for coming Kiddo," Fitz says.

"Dad," she shakes her head.

"You will always be my baby girl just like Francesca will. "

"Today was really nice dad and I think the world will love what."

"I wanted to do it justice. I wanted to do everyone involved justice and wanted my children to see something to be proud of."

Karen takes her dad's hand, "I am already proud of you. You were a great President dad."

"I definitely tried to be."

Karen collects her words, "You know what I am most proud of?"

Fitz looks at her, "What's that?"

"I am proud at how you and mom finally figured it all out. I've had a long time to figure out a lot of things for myself and you and mom love each other but not all love computes to forever. I saw you look across the room one day and I was always in awe of my dad being President. I wanted to know why your eyes were searching and who it was searching for, and it landed on Liv," she explains. Fitz can't help but sheepishly smile. "Your eyes watched her every move and I knew it was different. I knew it was something I didn't understand but I knew it was only for her."

"And it didn't make you mad?" Fitz asks.

"No, it made me curious, but I liked Liv, so it didn't matter. And she always looked out for us but now I know its because she loved you so much even if it was right to, at the time."

"She loves you guys very much too," Fitz smiles.

"We love her," Karen assures him.

"How about a bowl of ice cream with your dad?"

"Yes, with sprinkles, whip cream, and chocolate."

Fitz kisses Karen on top of her head, "You are definitely still my baby girl but don't tell your baby sister."

"You were mine first," Karen jokes.

"Yes, I was. But don't tell her we had ice cream. That's all she wanted today," he says as they get up and go toward the house.

Liv is making sure Frankie is all tucked in before she checks on Teddy. She gives her a kiss on the head and turns to leave.

"Sleep tight my little bed bug," Liv says.

"Mommy, were you happy when I was born?"

Liv stops and turns, "Of course I was honey."

"Okay, I was happy I was born too."

Liv lets out an infectious laugh. She walks over to her bed and kneels down in front, "When you were born. It was the most life changing day of my life. I didn't think I would ever be a mommy and I certainly didn't think I would be so lucky to be your mommy. But when I held you in my arms, I never felt anything like it. I just knew I never wanted that feeling to leave. Your daddy cried. He was so happy. And I just stared at you in shock because you were real, and you were ours. We love you sweet pea. We love you so much."

"I love you mommy."

"Okay, go to sleep and in the morning, we will have pancakes with lots of syrup before your brother and sister leave."

"Promise," she asks.

"Promise," Liv kisses her. Turn off the light and leaves.

Fitz is putting Teddy to bed as Liv is getting ready to take a shower. There's a knock at the door but Liv doesn't hear it. Liv is hanging up her and Fitz's outfit from the day, while listening to the news coverage. Fitz has been the news cycle all evening. The reviews have been nothing but positive. The knock is heard again.

Liv looks toward the door, "Come in."

Karen comes in, "It's me."

"Hey Karen, come in," Liv says as Liv walks over. "You and your dad had ice cream didn't you."

"How did you know?"

"Because he knows I wouldn't let him eat it," Liv laughs.

"I need to ask you something," Karen says.

"Shoot," Liv says as she leads her over to, she and Fitz's reading area. "What's going on?"

"I want to move abroad for this environmental program. I mean really abroad and really remote. Totally unlike a Grant life."

"Then do it," Liv says.

"Well, I am not going alone."

Liv tilts her head, "Who are we going with?"

"His name is Alexander and he's a Democrat," Karen smiles. Liv can tell from the smiles it is serious.

"Ahhhhh," Liv smiles.

"He's…. I really like him, and I really want to do it."

"Are you and Alexander serious? Well of course you are but…."

"He gave me a ring, a promise ring, kind of like dad gave you one."

Liv looks surprised, "How did you know?"

"I pay attention," Karen smiles.

"Listen, do what you guy tells you. My gut never led me wrong but don't tell your dad until you leave tomorrow. If you tell him tonight, he will never sleep and…"

"I don't want to know," Karen shakes her head.

"Just tell him in the morning," Liv says.

Fitz comes in on tail end, "Tell me what in the morning."

Karen hurriedly gets up, "I love you dad. Have a good night and please don't be too loud," she says as she kisses his cheek and leaves.

Liv buries her head in her hand, "Everyone says we are loud."

"Because you are loud," Fitz answers as he makes sure their door is locked.

"I am not," Liv argues.

"Listen I am not complaining. I love when you scream, when you cry, when you moan, especially when you are saying my name but not everyone wants to hear such proclamations when sex is involved."

"Shut up," Liv simply responds as she gets up to go towards the bathroom.

Fitz stops her, pulling her to him, "What is she waiting to tell me in the morning?"

"That's between you and Karen," Liv smiles.

"Just tell me if it's bad or good," Fitz says.

"It's all good. Just have an open mind."

"I'm going to hate it," Fitz shakes his head. She pulls him over to the bed. He sits on the edge, and she straddles his lap, which he loves instantly. "I definitely don't hate this."

"You are a wonderful husband. You are a wonderful father, and you are a damn good man," Liv says.

"Well thank you Mrs. Grant. And you are a wonderful wife. I sometimes can't believe it," he chuckles as she slaps his shoulder. "You are an amazing mother and one sexy woman and so glad you are all mine." He kisses her softly.

"Today was a good day."

"Yes, it was. Thank you," Fitz smiles.

"I didn't do anything," Liv answers.

"You did everything," Fitz smiles.

"You know what I realized today Mr. Grant," she says as she combs her fingers through his delicious curly hair.

"What did you realize?"

"I will never stop wanting you Fitzgerald Thomas Grant, III," She reveals.

"Good because I'll never stop wanting you either. I'll be one foot in the grave craving all of you," Fitz answers.

"You really are shameless."

"I'm just a man in love with an incredible woman," He smiles at her. She smiles at him. Only he can make her want to cry. "Did you mean what you said earlier?"

"What is that?"

"You want me to change the name. You really want me to…."

"Olivia Carolyn Pope Grant is my name, unless you don't want me to use it," she winks.

"Oh, I definitely want you use it, just like I want you to use me tonight," Fitz winks back.

"I think that can be arranged," she smiles as she pushes him back on the bed.

Fitz lets his hands travel her body that's not in a robe with a camisole underneath, "This is the way you end an incredible day with incredible sex."

Liv lifts herself up on his body as she begins scraping her hands under his shirt. "I am about to take you on the ride of your life."

"As long as you are riding, it's perfectly fine with me."

She reaches up and kisses him on the lips and travels down his neck and she keeps traveling. She stops at his stomach and looks up, "Take off your clothes."

And he does as she instructed. They make love well into the night celebrating their love and their commitment to each other and their family. It was a long road to get to the other side but in this moment in time, it was worth the tears, the pain, and the hurt.
